Title: Official Characters - ALPHA V2 RELEASED! (UPDATED 11/26)

An upgrade to the Official Characters pack. Includes Hawkeye, The Hulk, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Sabretooth, Colossus, Moon Knight, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Ronin.

Included in the Herostat are The Hulk, Hawkeye, Colossus, and Moon Knight; all with unique item drops. Magneto, Sabretooth, Cyclops, and Nightcrawler all include sounds. The others' sounds are being worked on and will hopefully be included in a later upgrade, as will Venom and Doctor Doom

Also includes the excellent heroselect program, as well as an upgraded version of the fightstyles pack.

Wow this is great. Just curious about Magneto is this a new version or the great mod by Dark mark? Thanks for this great mod.

cool! great addition of sabretooth! i will install at a later date, but just curious, is sabretooth power the same as wolverine? how about his xtreme, is it like as it was in the DLC trailer where he move from one target to another?

you dont have to use the program, if you open the file herostat.cfg with notepad, you will see all the herostats are in that file, so you can copy them from there if you want to add characters manually

Try decompile the herostat.engb from this mod. when I tried to use my old herostat it didn't work.

 Crazy, this is not very good word I think, I find that other huds seems more formal, and that of cyc night seems more "unofficial"

That could be fixed, but not for a while. Perhaps in the next "update" :) (Or I could just do it, and upload a "patch", and only include them in the actual mod in the next "update"; but it won't be for a short while)

Thank you for all this great work again.

I tried to install only Sabretooth and everything looks fine in my game, except for this error: when I grab an enemy with Sabretooth I can grab, I can punch him. But I cannot use the charge strong hit button because Sabretooth blocks then and the enemy remains hold against the floor.

Sabretooth just starts doing that move, but he gets blocked and he holds the enemy against the floor instead of knocking him once and again.

Any idea which file I may have missed?

Problem is, as always... I have too many modifications. I can restore from backup but if anyone knows if this can be due to a certain fightstyle file or any other one I would be grateful. I tried checking the files one by one, Sabretooth ones and they seem to be ok. Maybe a  general fightstyle file?

EDIT: I think it is the same move She-Hulk has, after grabbing using the heavy charge button he seems to start that move, but he just freezes there.

Is the same grab move luke cage has .In my mua sabretooth it work but does a few damage (actually just 3 damage at level 45) like the cyclops grab move using the heavy damage button ( only 4 damage at level 45)

does anyone have any problems with magneto? when the team xtreme is activated, magneto nvr use his extreme n the whole thing just goes slow mo, nvr returing back to normal.

Can confirm the Magneto problem (Xtreme doesn't return to normal playing time). However, I did only encounter it one in 10+ tries. Seemt to be something very random.

On good news: Nightys Xtreme seems to be fixes now.

But I have a problem with Hulk. Half his moves don't work properly anymore. Had a quick look and one of his files in the actors folder is only 1/3rd in size or so, and that is where the problem originates

PS: Why are there so many fightstyles of characters actuall in MUA in the package?

The problem originates from you either

a) not copying some of the fightstyle_hulk files properly
or
b) not changing the herostat entry you are using to read fightstyle_hulk
or
c) not copying the new "hulk.engb" talent file

That line was well hidden (as it is at the bottom of the stat). Hope there aren't any other changes in the herostat...

But I still don't get the "fightstyles pack". What does it do? Is it only a resource for modders at this point or is it supposed to change something for the normal user (the fightstyles don't seem to be used from looking at the herostat).

some problem
1)there some stuff that hulk cant pick up and so work to sabertooth
also
when you will add the char that have only in the golden edition for Xbox360
i mean there some char that arent in like venom and dr.Doom

i'm sure that they will be released when iammingy makes the 2 venom skins and for doom he has the classic skin norrin made an ultimate then when the other 2 skins are made there will be doom and venom to think about

Updated the mod with fixes to the hud_heads, so they no longer have an Iceman shadow when running in a smaller resolution. If you downloaded the mod prior to this update, you only need to copy the files in the "hud" folder.

i know its there i wanted to use the heroselect to add Omega but never mind i will do the old compile and decomplie

Thanks, BliZZ.  That looks like it worked.  Now to see if I remember how to a) make mods and b) play the game.  I haven't played since April and can't even get the game to load up unless using my backup files on a different drive.  Funny, it was working back then....hmmm.

it seems its random but if you have cyclops with mag on the team, definitely will slow mo n nvr return to normal n gotta reload again...

Here's a Hawkeye/Black Widow soundset.  It's the highest quality I can get it without actually being able to figure out the sound format the game uses.  But it's 100% complete with every sound you'd find on the Xbox.  If anyone has the extra PSP sounds in wav format I'll try to add those.

Have fun, and sorry for the poor quality.  It's the best I can do.  Captain Marvel and Ronin will be along ASAP, then it's on to try and collect/create sounds for Venom and Doom.

Has anyone found why does Cyclops' XTreme make the game go perma-slow? I was trying to use his visuals, and comparing it with a few other xtreme definitions, but it keeps screwing my test games. It only reverts to normal after a dialog scene or an area change.

I'll give it a look see as soon as I can. Cap Marvel's had a similar issue which I fixed before this upload.

Also, I'll check out that Hawk soundset ASAP too :thumbsup:

And update about the perma-slow:

I removed all the sound references and moved the events definitions outside the power (between the 'trigger' xtreme and the proper xtreme). Just tested once so far, but it seems to return to normal now.

I'm wondering is anybody else having problems with the game crashing on on Level 3 in Asgard after you rescue Balder?   
The only file I found that seemed out of place was in the maps folder file asgard3.engb which was written over when I installed the Official Char package. 
Does anybody have the original file?

At least I'm not having problems in that part. What the new asgard3.engb file does is make Lizard drop an item he was suppose to drop from the very beginning. I don't see how that would crash the game... Try to insert all the related files again, including items.engb and packages.

SOOooo. i was working on a Doom mod, but since Teancum told me that a dlc Doom is already done i stopped making it.. but since he's only missing the sounds, can't you release it anyway? i don't care if there's no sound! i WANNNT it! MUHAHAHAHA! (ps. thanks to gimp i was able to edit bump maps so i made some very nice bumped skins for doom so i want to try them with him, but to do it you must RELEASE THIS DAMN MODDDD!!!)

The guide did answer it in some way. :P

The 2nd paragraph:

This mean you have to replace some characters in order to use some/all of the characters in this pack.

ming the official alpha mod doesn't have Dr.doom and venom yet

No it doesn't. Not yet. I believe there will be a V3 out when Teancum comes back and finishes his Doom mod. Then, I think Dark_Mark's final Venom?

Yeah, I have to do Doom and Hulk's power sounds, so I'm the biggest holdup at the moment.  There's a few other behind-the-scenes things being worked on, but I don't know when they'll be released.  Oh, and I gotta show Dark_Mark the settings for making Xtreme voice lines echo (so they sound like the in-game ones).

My problem now.
I'm Italian with the italian version of MUA for PC. I downloaded the next gen package in italian and all was perfect and 100% working.
Now i downloaded the package: "Official Characters - ALPHA V2" because i really want to play Nightcrawler and nothing works..
Please help me! What i have to do?

Mmm.. Very hard choice.. or re-install the game in the english version (i have to find it too because i have only the italian) or keep going without the new characters.. :(

I'm probably wrong about this, but you could try changing all the .engb files included in the mod to .itab . But it's safer to just wait until someone who knows what he's doing answers your questions.

It needs power sounds, but from what it sounded like were going to release it without them.  Not sure what the holdup is.

Here's a technical question for you guys. How come when I install this pack, I always end up getting 4 of the same characters. Who ever I choose first in whatever position, it doesn't matter who's 2, 3 or 4th, they all came the same character.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be most useful. I love this game and would enjoy playing it with new characters.

Hello. I installed the mod, it works fine using character select. But, everytime I try to open heroselect, it gives me an error message saying that the application failed to initialize properly. Does anyone know what the problem may be? I put the menu files in the right spot as well as the compiler.

Hello, first of all, thanks all who's been a part of making these mods, damn great that we get the chars on PC version too!

For the post above, I have the same problem, would you happen to use 64 bit version of XP/Vista? That might be one cause for the issue.

I figured this was the best place to ask, as Black Widow doesn't have a package of her own. (I think.) I know tommyboy put together some skins for Widow, but I was wondering if anyone has used the one for the NPC Black Widow at all?

Is it possible to extract and use this skin as one of the skins for her?

Yes, you would need to rename the the skinsegments to the boltons you use in the powerstyle, etc.

Hey guys, I have a question, in the next Official Characters Mod will there be the special conversations that were in the Xbox 360 DLC content? According to a couple of videos, Magneto has a special conversation with Fin Fang Foom and Venom has a special conversation with Mysterio. Not sure if there are other ones.

The newest version has gone into beta testing.  Any Marvel Modders will know where to find it.  If no major bugs are reported by Friday we'll have the public release then.

Both are in.  Every official character is now in and completed unless stated below.

Might as well list the known issues for this next release: (these won't be fixed by Friday, but will probably be in a future relaase)
-Dr Doom's sounds are a bit screwy.  Some things that are supposed to loop won't.  Dunno why
-You MUST have your particle settings on high (Video Options) to see the effects for Doom's Xtreme.  We don't know how to fix this yet.
-Ronin is still missing two skins.

So far I've only found one bug, and that is that Nightcrawler's mannequin doesn't match his first outfit.  I forgot to fix that, but if that's the only bug found then I'll just make a teeny tiny patch for those who will want that fixed.

In the official characters folders there should be a text version of the herostat it contains the herostat entries of the other characters , just open it up with wordpad or notepad copy these then enter it into the herostat in your marvel ultimate allaince folders after you have decompiled that herostat (im assuming you know about decompiling herostats) add the cyclops , magneto and sabretooth entries , making sure you change the menulocation to a character you dont want in marvel ultimate allaince and deleting the characters entry you dont want .
