A. Fixed the no-power bug with new packages files.



Notes for v1.3: (March 2nd, 2008 - April 1st, 2008) :ifist:
A. Fixed the missing "charge" sound issue in "Spinning Bird Kick"
B. Fixed the position of one effect in "Indestructible Fist"
C. Fixed the dashing part of "Dashing Dragon Punch". So, the combo part is executed immediately upon contact with an enemy or object.

Notes for v1.2: (February 29th, 2008 - March 2nd, 2008) :ifist:
A. Removed "Rising Dragon punch" and added 2 new powers:
   - "Indestructible Fist"
   - "Dragon Spirit"
B. Reskined Classic and Red costumes with the texture of the Iron Fist model from Spiderman:FoF.
C. The dashing part of "Dashing Dragon Punch" is connected with a 6-hit combo instead of an uppercut.
D. New menu and idle animations
E. New mannequin
F. Added an Xtreme yell, sounds for the new powers, etc.

Notes for v1.0: (December 13th, 2007 - January 5th, 2008) :ifist:
If you don't have any Chi effects, then that means you have downloaded and installed an older version of the mod. I misplaced the effects folder "ironf" under effects, but "ironf" should go under "char". This is the correct path of "ironf":

The latest version fixes this problem.

This mod is in the same format as my other mods. :)
This is my first mod utilizing a custom fightstyle (Thanks to BliZZ's discovery!). So, I hope it works fine on your computers. Let me know if there are any bugs.

There aren't that many kung-fu-esque anims in MUA... So, I picked those anims that are similar to those famous special moves from Street Fighter series. Anyhow, I hope you all like it... ^^"||

:bowdown1:** BIG thanks to thetommyboy2002's skins/meshes for the Classic, Modern, and Red costumes!!!! Without these, I wouldn't even try making an Iron Fist mod myself!!! I played with the colors a little bit to give the Classic costume more saturated colors, but no big changes overall. **:bowdown1:

Yeah, I really like that move myself though it's not very native to Iron Fist...haha

Sorry, Onua... Put the folder "ironf" inside "char" under "effects" please...
Let me reorganize the folder structure and upload again...

I've got a second problem. My old team were composed de Iron man, Venom, Toxin and Hulk. Now I remplace Iron man whit Iron fist and my game bug.

Onua, try removing 6802.igb in ..\textures\loading

EDIT: I know 6801.igb works fine....
EDIT2: OR remove both 6801.igb and 6802.igb

I was thinking whether I should use Daredevil's or Elektra's "double-jump loop" anim... Then, I found this pic:

It was a good choice too, Daredevil is a more acrobatic character than Iron Fist.

Have you tried what I said though? (remove both 6801.igb and 6802.igb in ../textures/laoding)

Did the mod ever work for you before?
Does removing Iron Fist fix the problem?

It shouldn't be the HUDs... because I took pics with the same files you've got.
It shouldn't be the skins... otherwise, the game would crash at the menu when you select him.
It shouldn't be the effects... because I didn't set any effects in the idle pose or herostat.

Iron fist only work. Iron fist with 1 custom charater work. Iron fist with 2 custom charater work. But Iron fist with 3 custom charater doesn't work.

Yes, that's work, but I think that's no work with my team only :(. I find a solution, I remplace Hulk with Sh-Hulk or with Iron man.

So, let me make sure. You can now play with a team of 4 without the Hulk, but the problem is present only when Hulk is in the same team of 4 with Iron Fist???

That sounds really weird... I didn't use Hulk's stuff in this mod... :scratchhead:

I think I may know what is wrong. Hulk from the Official Characters Mod is numbered as 68_hulk
you used 68 as Iron Fist number. So the computer is having problems running both mods.
I just changed all of Iron Fists files and referances to those files to 168. That did the trick for me.

THIS MOD IS CRAZY!!! GREAT JOB! i only have one problem. i dont think its your mod but, i added him in and for some reason i lost mk and col. they are both in the xml, xmlb, and engb files but for some reson they are not in the game even if i use the all characters code, they still dont show up did you have this problem? (SICK MOD!!)

What are the menulocation numbers for Iron Fist, Moon Knight, and Colossus?
Remember you can only have a maximum of 27 playable characters in the herostat. So, characters with menulocation = "XX" (the characters that you don't want) may need to be removed.

Just install the Hulk from OC-A v2. Delete the entry of the old Hulk mod from the herostat and add the entry of the new Hulk to the herostat. Then, you can still have Iron Fist and Hulk in the same team.

for some reason it wont let me download "not available to download at this time". as for the combo, the shaolin monks do this combo that has i think 4 punches in a row and they are really fast punches, it just seems that it would be cool for iron fist. it looks like a power style. i think the elves have some really cool attacks to that would make iron fist look good!

for some reason it wont let me download "not available to download at this time". as for the combo, the shaolin monks do this combo that has i think 4 punches in a row and they are really fast punches, it just seems that it would be cool for iron fist. it looks like a power style. i think the elves have some really cool attacks to that would make iron fist look good!

I think I know which move you are talking about, but the thing is I can only use 3 sets of anims. Each set I used has a major role in this Iron Fist mod. If I can use 4 sets of anims, then I might consider it.

Really? I thought it was the numbering problem that Buddarbear mentioned. So, you can have HULK and Iron Fist in a team of 4 without any crashes now? If that's the case, I can stop investigating this problem... haha :ifist:

I have a problem with this mod and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice...

In-game, Iron Fist's basic punch and kick animations are not synced up and after a combo, he will freeze for several seconds before I can make him move or attack again.

Currently, he is my only custom installed character, if that matters. I replaced Iceman in slot 19.

Works great, and now I have a New New Avengers Lineup.


P.S. I noticed on the Dazzler Mod video that custom Team associations can be made, i.e. the game recognized Dazzler as an X-Man and under "Blonde Ambition."

Would it be possible to add Iron Fist to "New Avengers," despite the fact that the New Avengers bonus sucks.

First, decompile "team_bonus.engb" from

with XMLBC(UI).

I don't think I will give any more changes to this mod, but I think I *might* make a side mission (rather than comic book missions because there is a limited number of free slots for comic book missions. I think these slots should be given to the official characters IMO.) However, I will work on other mods and skins before this.

For the menu selection screen:
If you are seeing what is shown in the preview on the first page, then it should fine. He does shake a bit at the beginning; that is his menu_action anim.

For in-game:
He doesn't have an "unique" idle anim, but he uses the default instead. I think the "bored" anim is executed once in a while?

I didn't give him an idle anim because I have used up all anim sets for his powered and normal attacks. I used 3 4_combat anim sets (Elektra, Nick Fury, Daredevil) and the common/shared anim set for Iron Fist, none of which have an "unique" idle anim.

If all normal melee attacks and the powered attacks work fine for you, then you are seeing what I had intended for this mod.

It would be nice to see if it's possible to find a better model for his first two skins. Nothing wrong with tommy's models, i am a BIG fan of his work since Freedom Force but i don't really think that style TRULY fits MUA.

I was wondering if there is ANY way to HEX Blue mages collar+belt into a simple char model like spidey? Would that make a more MUA-ish model for Iron fist?

I don't know how to HEX out those stuff. I can import and export them again with 3DS MAX, but I can only make stationary models due to my "noobiness" in using 3DS MAX. (I have only started using MAX for less than a month.) Blue Mage's collar doesn't really fit Iron Fist, but it might look good on Dracula.

Hmm... after thinking a bit about the concern Neeboo Nine raised yesterday for a while, I *think* it is possible to give Iron Fist an idle anim plus the 4-hit combo Vooc suggested! :idea: The downside is Iron Fist will lose the anims for his current grab-smash and Twin Dragon Punch. Now, I need to plan out the stuff and do lots of testing to confirm this........

Ok, ignore my last post about grab-smash and Twin Dragon Punch. Iron Fist will KEEP his anims for grab-smash and Twin Dragon Punch. ^^ However, I will kickout Daredevil's animset instead. So, Iron Fist will lose all of his original menu anims and the uppercut anim for Dashing Dragon Punch and Rising Dragon Punch. Instead of the uppercut, the dashing part of Dashing Dragon Punch will be continued with the 6-hit combo Vooc suggested. So, this is like: dash, dash, ... , 6-hit combo. In v1.1, the ending uppercut after the dash didnot cost energy, but the 6-hit combo in v1.2 will cost energy for the obvious reasons. And, I *hope* I can replace Rising Dragon Punch (Ken's Shōryū-reppa) with Akuma's Kongō Kokuretsu Zan:

Thanks. Yes, I can give him a move similar to that though it's not comic-accurate at all. I can make it as the 6th power, but I don't know how to make a Dragon effect in the game. I got some ideas, however. ^^ What I would like to know is, should this Dragon thing just be a projectile that orbits Iron Fist? I think this is what he looks like in the vids I have seen.

Coolio! Controllable projectiles are indeed really cool. However, Danny's Dragon Spirit move in FoF is more of a radial type attack. This is still way cooler, anyhow! :thumbsup2:

Kit-bashed the texture from FoF onto thetommyboy2002's Iron Fist model:

Textures can be ripped from any game.  The hard part is essentially re-building the texture to match a MUA character's texture.  Iammingy just happens to be good at that.

The reason I make it so dark in the previous version is because Iron Fist's costume was really dark in his early appearaances in the mid 70's. Since you guys like them, I will use them as the default skins in v1.2.

All came from MUA-PC. Do animation sets from PC version work on the XBOX? How about skins from the PC version?

I added Shaolin Monk move you requested to the mod as the ending combo to Dashing Dragon Punch, just letting you know if you haven't noticed. Also, the combo is actually a 6-hit, instead of 4-hit, combo when I looked at the code and watching the animation over and over again. :ifist:

EDIT: As a by-product of the Shaolin Monk animation, Iron Fist will do cartwheels occasionally when he's AI-controlled. These are actually the step-left and -right animations. :D

I am really tired and feel a little bit dizzy after reading assembly codes over and over again... @_@ I will put together the update when I get home tonight (Pacific time).

Notes for V1.2:
A. Removed "Rising Dragon punch" and added 2 new powers:
   - "Indestructible Fist"
   - "Dragon Spirit"
B. Reskined Classic and Red costumes with the texture of the Iron Fist model from Spiderman:FoF.
C. The dashing part of "Dashing Dragon Punch" is connected with a 6-hit combo instead of an uppercut.
D. New menu and idle animations
E. New mannequin
F. Added an Xtreme yell, sounds for the new powers, etc.

I am using my Tournament skin for the mannequin because some parts of the Classic costume (especially the collar) are warped in that pose... :( So, I used a skin without the big collar instead. You can use the classic/red/modern skins as mannequin if you want, but they will just have a basic stance.

just tested the mod and it is AWESOME, good job. one question, the run ani in the dash punch is making it hard for me to connect the combo. is there any way i could cut the run ani or even make the combo connect sooner?

Ahh... I understand what you mean. I am trying to improve that. :)

I think I can modify the code so that Iron Fist will execute the combo as soon as you release the button. The bad thing is you will use the energy required twice whenever you use that move. So, that's why I make it you will execute the combo only when are still holding the button.

im using the modern skin from your mod, i think its tommyboys. the only problem is, i have to wait for the serial number for the 3d program. my goal is to make them longer and if possible, add just a little bit of a flowing effect.

YES that mannequin is awesome! its got kind of a Wushu thing going on, very kung fu. i really want to congratulate you. most times in video game when making a kung fu character, they end up more karate-ish. but you did a good job of making him kung fu-ish. on top of that, the two moves you added made iron fist feel unique when you play with him, HE PLAYS LIKE A REAL OFFICIAL CHARACTER! i don't know what else to say, he's kung fu-ish, he's unique, and HE'S IMMORTAL!  :ifist:

I will definitely update this mod if I/you find any bugs or if I think of any new ideas. However, I do think the 6 powers + 2 boosts + Xtreme in the current version have done Iron Fist justice.

Hi iammingy just having a few problems with the 1.3 version of iron fist ,
1. In spinning dove kick iron fist doesnt do the spinning kick while standing  on his hands . And when he does spin the effects dont match up with him spinning.
2. In Poison snake strike he doesnt strike the enemy with his hand .
3. When he does his smash attack it charges up but doesnt do anything .
It might be some file i dont have or someother file interrupting the powers or somthing .

in the actors folder?

The last modified date should be Feb 21, 2008 and the size should be 300+ KB

Hello everyone, first of all, congratulations and thanx for that awesome mod, although im not a great fan of iron fist, this mod is really amazing. It works very well in my pc, but sometimes, not very often, it doesnt have any effects or powers at all, they seem to disappear, if i try to activate some power, nothing happens, but the character still can fight normally, im dont know what is causing that. I have installed a lot of mods and changed somethings, but without errors. The same thing happens with quicksilver. I'd appreciate if anyone can tell me what is causing that, 'cause im quite lost at this time. Im not sure if this is the correct place to put this post, so my apologize if im posting it in the wrong place. Thanx a lot and greetings.

Did you start a new game since the last time you installed/updated it? I have tried using Iron Fist from the Hellcarrier all the way to Stark Towers and it works fine so far? When you don't see the effects, does he still deal any damage on the enemy?

Yes, i started a new game when i installed the iron fist mod. When the effects disappear and i try to activate any of them, he doesnt do damage, but fortunately it doenst happens very often. Im not sure in wich point it happens, maybe a conflict with other mods (i've installed a lot of mods, without problems or errors, but who knows). Everytime i see this error, i reload the saved game, and all works ok. Anyway, thanx for your help, i'll keep searching for a posible cause, i'll let you know, greetings.

What a fantastic job you did on this mod.  Iron Fist looks great, his animations are really sweet, and he's a blast to play.  Great mix of powers.  The Tournament costume and the manniquin look especially cool.  And very funny that you can even play him in a Daredevil costume!  Ha!  Thanks so much for all your work on this!

No, that wasn't meant to be the Matt Murdock Daredevil. Iron Fist wore the Daredevil costume in Civil War. I didn't have time to do a 6th skin. So, I just used the classic Daredevil costume.

Wow, I have to say that this my favorite mod and I-F is my most heavily played character.  In fact, kudos to all of the modders of MUA; you've all created some fantastic mods.  I think that I will be trying my hand on my first mod in the next couple of weeks.  Keep up the amazing work.

Perhaps I was misunderstood.

I know Iron Fist has a dragon projectile attack.

Does that chi dragon posted before do anything to enhance the mod? Is it an individual power by itself? Or does it just add decor to the mod?

Having the same problem with Iron Fist, can't figure it out. To answer questions directed at someone else:

1. Which character did you replace? Elektra, position 9. Made her menulocation = xxx.
2. Did you start a new game? Yes.
3. Did you install Official Characters mod Beta V3? Yes.
4. Did you use Heroselect? Yes, though I'm not clear on it. I used it to add Iron Fist, when it asked to choose location for, I selected "9".
5. Are you 100% sure that no two characters use the same menulocation number?
Yes, there is no one else at menulocation 9.

Now what I have is Hawkeye, for whatever reason, in his usual spot in the back row, and where Elektra was is a blank spot with the NAME Hawkeye. Selecting that blank slot selects Hawkeye. Sorry if this isn't clear - Hawkeye appears normally in his proper spot, and is also selectable in the blank spot vacated by Elektra. When Hawkeye is in the lineup, that blank spot is no longer selectable.

Been looking forward to using it - just started playing MUA, not realizing how old it was, and was kinda hoping IF was one of Daredevil's alt costumes for much the same reason DD is one of IF's in this mod. Guess the game came out before the storyline. =)

Thats right, Elektra is still there. I read one of the readme files (dont remember which) saying NOT to remove the character you're replacing, but to switch the location numbers. I'll give it a go.

No dice on that...erased Elektra out of the herostat, started a new game, but still an invisible Hawkeye is in her slot. I'm sure I've done something wrong, just can't figger out what.

Oh, that instruction was out-date. Sorry if that was mine.
If you have 27 characters in your herostat already, then you must delete character you are replacing in the herostat.

You can upload your herosat.engb here if you want. I can take a look at it.

Still can't seem to wrap my head around importing characters, though I won't ask you guys to hold my hand on every one. Two questions, though:

WHY is every character I seem to import incorrectly end up as Hawkeye? Just curious.
Is there any reason I can't overwrite one of my starting 4 characters? (The default 4 in the opening scene.)

Did you make sure that there all new files you put in instead of Hawkeye's files, make sure each file goes in it's designated area and then make sure the herostat does not have any hawkeye reference and is completley new, Other than that im not sure?!?

Overwriting those characters in the beggining can be done and has ,by editing the charinfo.xmlb file( in MUA data folder), all you do is add the name of your character replacing the character one you well...replaced! And then look for a file that says "start=" and then copy that line and put it underneath your character's name and deleate the other one from where you copied it. Once that is finished make sure you decompile it as an xmlb file and you will get this...

charinfo.xmlb.bak  -----> rename to charinfo.xmlb   and make sure that the old file is either backed up and moved out of that folder, or simply deleated. Hope that helped a bit!!

one question used the 1.40 version all is good just one problem when i try to attack an enemy by doing a 4-4-4 or 4-6-4 combo punching attack on the second punch ironfist turns around and bows  did i miss some fightstyle files or wrong herostat entries

EDIT: started a new game everything working great mod  :applause:

I hope someone is willing to work on it. So far the X360 stuff has been useless, so the moveset can only be made with the animations currently available (like XML2 or MUA1)

I checked the PS2 version. MUA2-PS2 does not contain Iron Fist at all. Even it had Iron Fist, it has only one costume and it's very low-res. I haven't checked the MUA2-Wii version, yet. Nope, it looks like the Wii version doesn't have Iron Fist either.

I think I could use the Venom PS2 models for my Toxin mod though.... @^#^@. The PS2 models crashes the game!!

Other than the 2 high quality character models I have seen on the XBOX360/PS3 versions, the Iron Fist available in MUA2 is inferior to my mod in many ways... (I am not trying to be arrogant in any way.)

MAJOR MAJOr points for your iron fist mod, everything is absolutely perfect, only thing i would have done different was to use sunfire's voice but its still awesome, you nailed everything about iron fist perfectly
