VERY cool.  I'll probably switch out Dark Phoenix for Cannonball, but awesome nonetheless.

Astonishing work.  Just a couple of comments:

Perhaps the Raven Knights team is better suited to those who don't show up elsewhere.  All of the people on that roster show up in at least two other teams; perhaps some of the characters who have only fit into one team (Jubilee, Magma) would be better choices?

On a related note, surely Jean Grey should also be in Family Affair?

Very, very impressed with this, though.  Can't wait to play more with it.

thanks for the feedback and the nice comments :).

I wanted an all psychic team bonus so i chose to use Raven Knights for that since the name is not too descriptive and could fit it. I didn't include Jean to the Family Affair team bonus since i thought it would be cooler to just have it be activated by all the Summers men (Cable, Cyclops, Havok and X-Man).  But i see your point, in any future update I'll add Jean to the bonus, and see how i can change Raven Knights.

I have to say this mod totally rocks. It made me actually go up into the attic, dig out my install disks and go through the hell of installing the game on a windows x64 Vista system. Fun times. Been playing with Havok, Polaris, Magma, and Psylocke and absolutely love it!!! If I can figure it out i'm going to try to get Sage, Marvel Girl, and Cannonball into it too. Just cant figure out who to drop. Anyways, the point is this mod is absolutely awesome and stuff!!!!

After finding out that I cannot use mods for multiple playthoughs, you just gave me another reason to jump into the PC version of this game.

Thank you.

i'm a bit confused. i believe the first page says any marvel mod can be playable. i thought the only playable characters are the ones listed on the character selecting picture. so are those the only characters playable. or are every other mods playable, only they aren't shown. also it says that the brotherhood characters are replaced. but down below it says nothing from the game is lost. are the brotherhood characters still playable are npt. please answer my two questions. i'm very confused
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: nodoubt_jr on October 24, 2008, 02:53PM
yes the only playables for this edition are those in the roster given in the first post. No the brotherhood characters are only replaced in the editions herostat (called heroreal here, so it doesn't overwrite the games natural herostat.engb), their files are not replaced, so they are still playable in the regular version.

everything in this edition is separate from the regular game, so you can launch the game with the game.exe and play the game as it comes or with whatever mods you want.  this edition is launched by the new XMenBundle.exe, and runs files that are unique to it and not overwriting other important files.

Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: nodoubt_jr on October 25, 2008, 10:04PM
the files are dropped in the folder Program Files/Activision/X-Men Legends 2/ , if you check it you will see the files in the package are set up exactly as XML2 sets up its files.  So its just drag and drop.  So Actors goes in Actors, and HUD goes in HUD, etc.

Kurt can teleport people adjacent to him right? Then you can have two X-Men in that area.

There's also a sneaky way to do it, which is to set up a Blink Portal almost directly next to that door and go through it.  When you come back, the engine sometimes places a party member on the other side of the door.

But then you waste the time needed to recharge a Blink portal. And wasted if the tactic doesn't work.

Is there any plan to delete the Brotherhood specific random item drops (Toad's Cloak, etc.)?

oh thanks for reminding me about this.

it seems that for the items.engb you cant add items, you can only replace.  Also hexing the exe to use something like itemx.engb instead (like i did with team bonus and dangerroom, and as i originally planned to do) causes the exe to immediately crash, so i cant even hex it so that it uses its own unique items. So no i have no plans to change the items file, i rather people do it on there own as they know what mods they are using.

Just wanted to mention that the Magma Mod has been updated in her individual  thread to fix an issue with her slide power not consuming energy and her lava projectile having a side trail.  All you need to be up to date on Magma is download this file http://www.mediafire.com/?zfjeztnyi2q and replace the files that came in the first version of this project.

also once there has been a number of fixes released for the mod or the project i will release an additional "hotfix" for the packaged mod.

This is great!  nodoubt_jr how long did this take you to do?

The only reason I ask is because I would love it if someone did an X-Girls edition with:

Storm
Jean Grey
Rogue
Emma Frost
Jubilee
Magma
Psylocke
Blink
Dazzler
Dust
Husk
Magik
Marvel Girl
Moonstar
Polaris
Sage
Shadowcat
X-23
Wolfsbane
Mystique
Scarlet Witch

Everyone knows that the best X-men are women! ;)

it took me a while, mostly to gather stuff and fix any little problems that happened, plus i had to play the game once over and test the edition.  It was a little easier then the Marvel Universe Edition, since for this one all the mods were already done.
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: nodoubt_jr on November 11, 2008, 09:48PM
Two mods included in this Edition have been updated, Cable and X-Man.  Both were updated to correct problems in their talents and in the case of x-man, powerstyle too.  To get these new updates download these http://www.mediafire.com/?qzwgxmi2xmm and http://www.mediafire.com/?mwidmt5zh4m.  Just download and replace the files that came in the edition download.

since theres been 3 mod updates, I'll probably be releasing a fix that contains all of these fixes and some fixes to the danger room (I'll probably be adding some challenges for characters that don't have any) and a change to the team bonus file.
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition (update released 11-16-08)
Post by: nodoubt_jr on November 16, 2008, 09:20PM
OK as mentioned above now that theres been a couple of updates i decided to release a package that contains all these new updates, plus some new stuff.

Update/Fix Version 1
download: http://www.mediafire.com/?jji4zzyznya

This is an update for the All X-Men Edition v1.

This update includes new fixes and fixes to character mods since it was first released.

Just unpack after having installed the All X-Men Edition v1 and replace those files that came in the package with these new files.

It includes:
- A fix for Magma's powerstyle so that her slide move uses EP and a new entities trail effect
- A talent fix for Cable to organize it properly
- A talent and powerstyle fix for X-Man, now "Plasma Shield" has a time limit and his talents is more organized
- A talent fix for Polaris to fix an icon issue
- Team Bonus update to include Jean Grey in the Family Affair bonus and to change Raven Knights (Raven Knights is now: Jubilee, Magma, Iceman and X-Man, sort of a young people bonus)
- Danger Room courses fix and update.  Now the mission to protect Forge, actually spawns Forge instead of Havok.  Also adds new Challenges for Angel, Cable, Havok, Polaris and X-Man. Which means that all the playable characters, except for Dark Phoenix, have a Danger Room challenge.

No need to start a new game with any of these updates/fixes. Now you are all up to date as this includes all the previous updates mentioned before.

Pic of new Danger Room Challenge for Havok
(http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/nodoubt_jr/XMenLegends0076-1.jpg)

(for those wondering why you don't have to start a new game for the danger room challenges to work. the new challenges use the the online missions names which have always been on the file, just not visible. So you don't have to start a new game, but it may mess up the danger room records, so if you already started playing the danger room missions the records may be a little off.)
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition (update released 11-16-08)
Post by: Jack of All Trades on November 16, 2008, 09:41PM
I'm really glad I was able to help you sort out the danger room.  Did you create some new items for your missions or are you just handing out non character specific unique items?  I have an items list with some new items for Sabretooth (Killer's Glove's), Pyro (Irradiated Fuel Tank), Deadpool(Assassin's Blade), Professor X (Moira's Charm), Ironman (Extremis Armor), Cable (Relic of the Future) , Cannonball (Blast Field Enhancer), and X-Man (Plasma Armor).  I'm not sure if adding new items messes up the game like adding new Danger Room Courses does but if not lets do it.  I do know that you can modify existing items without messing up the game.  As an experiment I made the 250 attack bonus on Cyclops' Accelerated Visor into a defense bonus and it worked perfectly, I did unequip the item before hand, just in case.

So did you create entirely new danger room missions for all of the new characters or did you just cheaply copy them over like I did?  I know you mentioned saving Forge...
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition (update released 11-16-08)
Post by: nodoubt_jr on November 16, 2008, 09:58PM
no new items, and like i have posted before on here i don't plan on doing items for these characters since i play this version, the marvel universe one, the brotherhood one, original and etc. and i just rather people do their own items as you cant add new ones, just replace/rename and they know what mods they are using.

the new danger room missions are mostly ones that already existed, some from XML1, and others using some of the unused danger room maps.

edit: the danger room missions scores are only messed up if you had already started playing the missions, if you haven't or are starting a new game you wont have any of these issues.  i didn't really care, i was just happy almost everyone has a danger room mission.

I didn't even bother reading the level entries in dangerroom.engb.  I played a bit of the All X-Men version and I noticed the 1st level was different.  I thought you brought that over from XML1.  I may have to look into that.

Hi, nodoubt, sorry I was a little late on this, but I met problem here. After running 4 Mystique into the Sanctuary I got 4 angels, then I went for a team change and it crashed to my desktop. Does it have anything to do with language? I'm using a french version XML2. But shouldn't be, all the structures are the same and you can actually switch between 5 languages. Can't fugure out why...

Could you update this. Add in Shadowcat, and X23, and Wolfsbane, Sage, Dust, and all the other newer X-Men mods. Because for some reason I can't get the single mod characters to work does work. And I really want to play as the other X-Men, especially Shadowcat. I really hope you can help me because this one is awesome, I just really want to play as the rest. And if you don't have the others because you can't have more than 21 characters, could you make variations or some way for us to edit them outselves to add who we want in the game. Thanks!

I think the idea of putting really all xmen into this mod a little weird. I mean you have done great about making an extra .exe and the dangerrooms and so on but I think the X-Men who where available in the original game are unnessesary. You should have put for example Magik, Dazzler, Banshee into the game. Or just have made a Marvel Hero Mod with all good natured modding characters. The fact that Jean AND Dark Jean are available also strange. But I hope will do more Mods like this, I am especially waiting for the BrotherhoddmMod. (Does really have to be a Brotherhood Mod? Not just a villain mod??)

Hello :)

I was wondering how you made the package file work, as in how you made a crack and stuff, because i was thinking of just producing an XML2 that is similar to the x-men edition just with alternate mods just to save some people the time and confusion that I went through to mod it XD

Thanks :)

i hexed the exe using a hex editor, once that was done it was just packaging the mods together and creating the new herostat and stuff like that.

Yes, his files are included in the package as well as his herostat entry.  so edit the herostat (called heroreal.engb in this edition), remove who you dont want and place his herostat entry there.

How do I edit the herostat? I tried Word and Notepad but id doesn't display correctly. I could have sworn I used them before to edit.

Yes what venom said above, you need that program.  Look around the Modding Discussion http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?board=18.0 or Technical Problems http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?board=23.0 . We've helped a lot of people figure this out there. If not start a new thread in Technical Problems and someone can help you out, this isnt really the right thread to go into those details.

Magma has been updated here http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=2846.msg70007#msg70007, Psylocke was also updated a week ago too here http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=2846.msg67784#msg67784

Since theres been 1 update to the package and 3 updates to 3 characters included in the package i will be updating the package with all the new stuff. This should make it easier for new members, so they dont have to hunt down all these updates.  I'll wait a week or more to make sure these characters wont need another update before i release an updated package.

I've tried to edit the herostat, but just like always, it either deletes the entry when it says it saves or it doesn't show up in the game period.

you have to compile the engb then you got it it should say "run game to view changes"

Again, start a thread in Technical Problems and search the forum. There we can guide you through the process, here it would just be off topic and spammy.

Thank you. And no there isnt a x-girls pack, check the Character Mod Catalog http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=753.0 there you'll see that theres only this one, a Brotherhood pack and a Marvel Universe (MUA) pack.

An x-girl pack would be nice. Just wondering if any characters will be updated with new skins. Like maybe Gambit with death or retro skin, Rogue with Messiah Complex etc.
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition (update released 11-16-08)
Post by: nodoubt_jr on October 12, 2009, 02:05PM
I hadn't thought of that. Originally i only added official skins that were from MUA1 and XML1, and some must haves (Jean's 90s for example). I didnt add more since matt710 already has boosters with multiple skins and other skinners were doing multiple skins, so i didnt see the point of adding a bunch of skins when people would just add whatever they wanted. Now i might add some more skins, especially if they appear in MUA2 (which Gambit's death skin does) and if any other must have skins have been release.

Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: BLaw on December 03, 2009, 06:10AM
- Download
- Install in your X-Men Legends 2 folder
- Double click or press ENTER/RETURN on "xmenbundle.exe" in the X-Men Legends 2 folder
- Press ESCAPE till the main menu shows up
- Choose Play Game or something to play the game
- Select the difficulty
- Play

Quote from: nodoubt_jr
To play, all you have to do is unpack the package and drag and drop all the files to Program Files/Activision/X-Men Legends 2/ (the files are setup exactly as XML2 sets it up, so you could even unpack the files directly in the XML2 folders). To launch the new game, double-click on XMenBundle.exe located in Program Files/Activision/X-Men Legends 2/.
Quote from: MarvelFan12345 on November 26, 2009, 01:41PM

It CANNOT BE ANY EASIER THAN THAT. Seriously..

LOl. Arya94, its basically like getting ready to play the original XMENLEGEND2 game.  Just go to the folder under programfiles/activision/xml2(something like that) and then you shall see the game towards the bottom if you scroll down.  You do all this after you install. So yeah, that's pretty much Mr. Law is saying. :\

a little Q though, is there a way for any of us to mod the whole game? like say, add a new map and quest for the actualy game or something? or does that defy the rules of modding and pretty much the capability aand limits of the game?
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: nodoubt_jr on January 16, 2010, 02:15PM
this isnt really the best place for a question like this since its not about the AXE, the modding discussion  forum would be better. but i'll go ahead and answer your question, yes you can add new maps and quests (a while back i added some mua1 shiar levels to my game), but eventually your going to hit the memory limit and stuff will not load properly so you might get stuck unable to finish the game because script or a map just wont load (the memory limit is the reason why the XML1 to XML2 mod didnt really work)

I swapped out Dark Phoenix and X-Man for Marvel Girl and Shadowcat, but the game has marked the two newcomers as 'unlockables'. Am I correct in thinking that they should be available from the start?
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: nodoubt_jr on January 22, 2010, 11:24PM
The script is set up to unlock those that come with the herostats, not any other additional mods. What i would suggest is start a new game with the given herostat, save it. Then use your new herostat, and start a new game, now all spots should be unlocked.

First off, this thing is awesome.  Had to hunt down a copy of the game for this Mod and now that I got Shadowcat in it, I cant figure out who to use for my 4.  But I do have a Q about the Mod.  Are the other skins unlocked immediatly or do you have to play through the game/ use code to have them unlocked?  Dont want to get to far and then have to start over cause I messed up somewhere.  Once again though, great Mod, and looking forward to your other Mods

Any chance of X-23 making appearance here?
oh and another thing
what about saved games?
does the mod store games saved while playing it separate from the ones with original XML2?
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: nodoubt_jr on June 09, 2010, 03:47PM
The roster is going to stay as is. and yes the save games are stored in there own unique folder, so it wont overwrite or intefere with the original game.
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: Pooltastic on June 09, 2010, 06:55PM
alright. bear with me on this one please.
I'm thinking of doing a little combination, if you will, of the two versions.
i want it to be just like the originals, ie standalone, so that i don't mess with the original game too much.
i want to have in it only the new characters (to xml2) from the mods. well the cool ones anyway.
namely:
1. Angel
2. Beast
3. Dark Phoenix
4. Emma Frost
5. Cable
6. Polaris
7. Psylocke
8. X-Man
9. Blink
10. Forge
11. Marrow
12. Multiple Man
13. Mystique
14. Quicksilver
15. Stephord Cuckoo
16. Blob

whoa... only 16?
hmm... hold on a sec...
here we go. a few extras from outside:
17. cannonball
18. X-23
19. Omega Red
20. Shadowcat
21. Omega Sentinel

whew!
funnily enough i know zilch about Karima (Omega Sentinel). It's just she looks sooo cool!

alright! now. still with me? good.
now for the question.
could someon sorta troubleshoot me through the process?
I think i get the part with the herostat and with adding of the extras but...
what I need is what files do i need to put where from one version to  another (is all x-men to brotherhood or vice versa)
or can i just bring everything over?

thank you!
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition

This is how i would install the editions
Install Order:
1) Marvel Universe Edition
2) All X-Men Edition
3) All X-Men Edition Update
4) Marvel Universe Edition Update
5) Brotherhood Edition
6) Brotherhood Edition Update
7) Individual Mod updates for All X-Men Edition and Marvel Universe Edition

Eventually, when i have time i'll update these packs so theres not so much stuff to download and it can just be 3 easy downloads.

To add all those ones you want its simple, just install the stuff like i said above and edit the herostats (called heroreal.engb in the All X-Men Edition). Now if you want to know how to edit herostats and all that stuff than i would suggest starting a new thread here http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/board,18.0.html so that this thread doesnt get filled up with that stuff.

uhm there's a problem with the second Freshman level Danger Room mission, the one where you need to do a pick-up-and-throw move 5 times.
There's nothing to throw.
The mission starts fine but it does not generate any boxes, crates, barrels or anything else throw-able.
I don't know if it matters but I was using X-23.

As I said earlier in this topic, this edition is wonderful!

However, I have two questions:

1) I'm currently using the non-updated version of the edition. I've recently started a new game and, while playing with X-Man, Psylocke, Angel and Magma, the game undergoes frequent and sudden crashes, forcing me to reboot my PC everytime =/
The version of Magma I'm playing is the non-updated one, too. Could this be the problem? (Probably a dumb question, but I felt like asking xD) If not, do you have any suggestions/advice about it? =)

2) How do I install the updated "All X-Men" edition? Do I have to replace all the files in the folder etc. etc. ?
(Please consider that this edition and my original game are in the same folder) Moreover, do I have to start a new game after installing the updated version?
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition
Post by: nodoubt_jr on June 14, 2010, 04:19PM
1) Not sure why you are having crashes. To tell you the truth it could be many reasons, some not even related tot he mods themselves. The game has issues and modding is not perfect, so I cant really pinpoint it.

2) Just install the All X-Men Edition Update by dragging and dropping, it just replaces old files from the All X-Men Edition. No you wont have to start a new game, unless you dont want your Danger Room achievements messed up. I rearranged some stuff so everyone has a challenge in the Danger Room so scores may get a little messed up. If you havent played any danger room challenges than you will be find.

and like i said a couple of post up, eventually i will update this to include all updates..

I am currently running into technical difficulties after reinstalling XML II. I cannot get the hero stat to work any more, nor can I unlock characters with psy. script.

Cant you release the All X-men Edition with a Heroselect that also has has the default characters. I do like Maneto and Juggernaught. Psylocke, Angel, Cyclops, and Beast are my favorite team in XML II.

Hey, nodoubt_jr,

I've been playing a new game for a while and I just updated the game today. I noticed that the challenge for Havok has already been completed(without me doing it of course =]) How do I fix this? I want the unique item but must say that it will be quite a hassle to play a whole new game to get there. Polaris' mission, ironically, is not, even though it's right under his. I'm in act 2 and I just noticed it. I also had a bug or two with the Havok Booster, and maybe even without it. All his abilities, save Mutant Mastery and Leadership disappeared completely.

I want to thank you for this though. THis is great. I love Havok, and though his powers aren't star blue, he is fantastically done. I've always been wary of powers like his energy blasts or IM's repulsors: is it his best power here? It barely consumes energy at 1st level and combos so easily.

Maybe it has to do with your herostat/heroreal file? What language is the game from? Look into the Data folder and make sure the heroreal is install with the right language. Examples engb, itab, freb, and gerb. Either way I'm sure it has to do with that file.

im guessing that's an issue on your end, these editions dont need anything extra other than the actual game installed.

This is beyond frustrating.  I've tried everything I can think of.  Do you have to put each folder inside the ones that already exist (Actors, Data, etc.)?

Or, do you just copy and paste everything into the XML2 Folder?  No matter what I do I keep getting the above message and it won't run.

"the files are setup exactly as XML2 sets it up, so you could even unpack the files directly in the XML2 folders"

^ Does this mean that I must unload the files into each specific folder?  And if so, sometimes it asks if I want to replace existing files.  Should I replace them?

Title: Re: All X-Men Edition

you could do that, or unpack everything together in the Activision/X-Men Legends 2/ folder and yes replace them.

Thank you no_doubtjr!

I just gave it a test run before I make some small modifications of my own, and this is absolutely fantastic!  *Amazed*

And I noticed you put Jean Grey in as the replacement for Magneto for the start of the game.  That was a great idea to open that one closed forcefield door!  :)

I really like your mod very much. It made my dreamed team came true.
And sorry for asking this really late, but is there a problem with the dangeroom course?
I noticed that I couldn't pass the grades through qualifying exams but other courses.
And some of the dangeroom courses should be given when you pass a grade, but now it doesn't.

I have read through the instructions but I didn't see it. If I made any mistakes please tell me.
Thanks and great work nodoubt_jr

Thank you :) I'm not sure what could be causing this, I didnt run into this issue when testing it out.  Did you add the update before you started playing the edition, or after you had already started?  That's the only thing that could cause an issue, other than that I havent run into a problem with the danger room.

If I install the update after starting the game, will there be a problem?
I played through the game without finishing dangeroom courses, then I started hard mode with the first save file but it still has the problem
But when I played the mavel universe edition, nothing like this happened

Thanks for replying :) and if I did make some mistake please let me know
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition

There's only an issue when you switch mid game, like if you played the first two acts with the old danger room file and then added the update, and then continued playig act 3 and on.  Other than that if you just started a new game and played with the updated one from the beginning you shouldnt have a problem.

I just checked the file and saw no errors.  Sorry I dont really know what to tell you, I've never ran into this issue myself.  Not sure if anyone else has either.

Maybe it's because you didn't put the files into the XML2 folder, you need to put all folders into the XML2 folder to play.
If you only put the x-men bundle.exe in, you'll have that kind of problem.

Please someone help me. I have the All X-men updated version of X-men legends 2 characters and I still can't add/replace any other character, having reading a lot of tutorials. The problem is when I try to decompile the herostat.engb and edit, it says that the herostat.xml archive can't be found, so I downloaded the herostat.xml archive from 2shared, and then decompiled and edit but it had MUA characters. I don't know what else to do so please, if anyone could help me, i'd be really apreciated.

Is it possible to, in the way that you made this and the Brotherhood and the Marvel Universe editions, make our own "package mods" for the game? One where we could build the roster we wanted and then give it a separate exe and save files?
Title: Re: All X-Men Edition

I would like to second the above unanswered question, but also ask my own.

I was able to add this mod to my game installation along with the replaced x-voice and have successfully completed the game on Easy mode using Angel as my lead character almost all the time with Beast, Iceman and Cyclops as my helpers. I liked that they were given an Old School bonus due to being the original four X-Men, while Jean Grey is also allowed into this category. I want to thank the modders who created this content very much for making this possible and doing such good work.

I was curious though - is there a step by step process to re-add one of the characters that was deleted and replace one of the new characters back with them? I saw you removed Sunfire, but I wanted to keep him since even though he left the team early on in the comics, he was originally recruited as an X-Man and the game's original version categorizes him as one of them. I was thinking of removing Dark Phoenix since I usually prefer using the regular Jean Grey and don't need two kinds of her at once.

Was Sunfire's data overwritten by a custom character or is all I have to do is copy his herostat file from an unmodded copy of the herostat document, decompile herostat, paste his herostat back in and recompile herostat?

Replacing characters in the All X-Men Edition is exactly the same as doing so in the regular game. Think of this as a clone of the original game. It functions in the exact same way, it just has a different name for things such as its herostat and exe.

Unless you deleted Sunfire's data, it should all be there. I don't believe the All X-Men edition overwrites anything that doesn't pertain to the characters it adds. To get Sunfire back in, all you have to do is decompile heroreal.engb (this version's herostat), take out a character's entry you don't want, and add in Sunfire's herostat entry.

Thank you for everything. I am sure this will help and that I should be able to figure it out. Now that I have a guide to making my own exe, I'll just keep XmenBundle the way it is so I don't have to start my file over and make my own exe for my custom team that includes Sunfire. At least since XmenBundle already has mostly characters I want to use, I can use it as my starting point instead of the original game installation, saving me time. I'll probably make a version where I replace the later recruits with as many custom made earlier X-Men recruits as I can, then make a separate one featuring all the later recruits.

The thread you linked me to might also solve the main problem I was having with adding Angel to Marvel Ultimate Alliance as my first custom character attempt. He kept showing up as a blank spot and I think it was because I didn't know I needed to edit his menulocation number correctly and Heroselect didn't do it automatically. So I had decided to just download this package mod for X-Men Legends II instead so I could at least play as him somehow.

Your antivirus software could be targeting it. Your software should have a place where you can pick files for it to skip over during active scanning. The same thing happened to me with TextureFiner2.1, and that fixed it

I'm assuming that you're referring to a skin of 90s Cyclops (skins are what we call the character models, while "mods" generally refers to full character mods with coding and everything else). You can pretty much apply any skin to any character regardless of the mod, so you're welcome to use that. You just have to name it properly. It's easiest to replace an existing skin for the character. If you're looking for a skin to download, I have a 90s Cyclops (and many others) on my release thread

The All X-Men Edition has been updated to version 1.4. Several files have been renamed to improve compatibility with OpenHeroSelect (OHS) v4.8.0:
- The herostat is now called hero_axe.engb
- The team_bonus file is now called team_b_axe.engb
- The danger room file is now called danger_axe.engb
- The mod now includes its own characters_heads package, characters_h_axe.pkgb
- The new_game script file is now called new_axe_.py
- The mod now includes its own new_game_hard script file, called new_axe__hard.py
- The exe is now called Xmen2_AXE.exe. It is now the smaller cracked exe, and it references the updated file names.
- The herostat entries and roster file have been separated out to be easily used with OHS.

It is recommended that you reinstall the game to use this new version.
