Here's my long-worked on Angel Mod.

4 skins are included in game (plus a bonus Days of Future Now skin), as well as the necessary effects, 3 HUDs (one is duplicated until I get a good source file for AOA Angel), etc.

The Herostat.engb and Herostat.xmlb are not included, as so many people are using so many different mods. There is, however, a text file listing the Herostat entries for both files, and they simply need to be added, given your preferred menu location, and recompiled. (xmlbcompile is necessary for this, findable elsewhere).

This still needs: Age of Apocalypse HUD, a loadscreen, and the ever-challenging Mannequin.

Couple o' things:
- During his hold down and spin attack- he pauses, instead of spinning constantly. Probably an animation problem
- You used an Ultimate picture for his Modern hud, which means he was topless w/ long hair, unlike the skin

Great mod, though! He is a lot of fun! The most distracting thing is after defeating a villain, he states his desire to serve Apocalypse :rofl:

Hi! Thanks for sharing your mod.
I have just installed it.

1. Angel cannot fly in my game, when I look at the hero details from the menu, it saids he has got only "melee combat moves".

2. I find that the animation for Wing Cyclone a bit awkward. He looks great when spinning once. However, when you hold the button (for spinning more than once), his animation is like: curl in wings, spins for 360 degrees, curl in wings, spins for 360 degrees...  My suggestion is: wouldn't it look better and more efficient for game play if he just keep on spinning as in: curl in wings, spins for 360 degrees, spins for 360 degrees, spins for 360 degrees, etc.

EDIT#1: woops, BLIZZ have just beaten me to mention it...haha

EDIT#2: One more thing, where should I put the x-voice.zzs file? (Wait a sec, it should be "ZSS" instead of "ZZS" :P)

It would be much better with a fluid animation, but the only way to do that would have been to use Deadpool as a base, which gets into all sorts of complications with his wings. I'd rather he look like a nancyboy than screw everything else up. Basically, the move has 3 animations- start, loop, and end, which Angel doesn't really have built into his anim set...his spin is all one animation. So it was either that, or scrap the power. I'm not in love with the power anyway though, so if people think it's silly enough, I have no problem scrapping it.

The HUD....yeah. Since the default XML2 costume isn't really a real comic costume, I just went with cool looking, rather than accurate. I will likely end up tweaking up another Angel costume at some point, with a more appropriate HUD.

As for the flying...did you start a brand new game? I know that characters often won't fly unless a new game is started.

EDIT: The X-Voice.whatever should be placed as archa_v.whatever under the same file as archa_m.whatever. so sounds/eng/a/r

I know that it isn't real but you could find a hi-res image of this (http://marveldatabase.com/Image:Archangel_%28Warren_Worthington%29.jpg) costume, or even use his XML2 hud_head as a base.

Nope, no icons yet. Gotta get together with Noehl to try to work that one out, as he seems to be the only one able to get reskinned icons to work. For now, just rename another character's icons as angel_icons and see if that works for ya.

I have been using Angel since I installed the mod. Now I have some weird problems. @_@
After I have added the item Radioactive Touch to Angel, all of his powers (including Xtreme) don't do any damage or only does 1 damage and the enemies won't get stunned. Also, the energy level doesn't decrease and heal can't restore health. The standard (light/heavy) melee attacks and all the animations still work fine though. Removing/replacing the item cannot resolve the problem.  Quitting and loading the game again doesn't help either.

EDIT#1: Ok, I started a new game with saved game stats, the problem is gone, though Radioactive Touch is still attached to Angel. :) I don't know what happened. @_@

EDIT#2: [in Darth Vader's voice] Nooooooooooooooooooo......
This time I have attached Angel with the +5 striking item. After playing (in the new game) for a while, I am getting the same bug again. @_@

just had the same problem that iammingy, but then switched to the Archangel skin nnd maxed up the power boost, and that seemed to work temporally.

Hm one question, I saw that Phoenix image there and it had all icons and all powers and stuff. Here can I get the mod like that??  :ohnoes: I have the Phoenix mod but without icons. That Phoenix looks awesome :D

Oh and another question, if we start a new game with saved stats will the character (lets say Angel or Jean) be able to fly or it has to be default stats? Thanks

1. You can simply ask Bankai_Sama to share the icons he made.
2. It has to be with defaut stats, I have tried with saved game stats and he didn't have flight and might.

I was using the fourth skin (Defenders), which skin were you using before using the Archangel skin?

Actually, the powers work OK when entering simulator missions, but then he got pwned in Murderworld by THE SHOCKER  :banghead:!!!

The first and forth skins....both have regeneration... dang, I actually picked the skins with regeneration... :banghead:
So, it works perfectly fine for you until this very moment only when using the 2nd skin with maxed Power damage? :ohnoes:

EDIT: Go to an extraction point, replace Angel with someone and go back to gameplay. Put Angel back on your team and, the bug is removed...for now. I am still using the 4th skin.

You have any idea how many of us have used others mods, changed the files ourselves, and reupped them?  I guarantee he won't care, as the icons and HUDs you made aren't his per say, being that you made them.  Just like any mod I make.  If you make a new file for it, then by all means if someone wants it, you have my permission to reupload.  We're a community of bretherin here, where we share.  :)

Yeah I just saw Noels icons still I really liked those icons Bankai made. I hope Noel doesn´t think I don´t like his work because I do but I did enjoyed those icons. Well if you can upload them I will be gratefull. Thanks for the time  ;)

Yes, please upload.

I think a general rule for modding alteration etiquate could be summed up as this:
1. It is always ok to up NEW content for a mod (new icons, HUDs, skins, etc) at pretty much any time, as these are all YOUR OWN effort and talent going into creating a new, tangible product. This goes especially if, like in my Phoenix mod, it was released without said components.
2. It is not always ok to re-upload somebody else's mod, or a derivative thereof, unless you very carefully specify that it was their work. (i.e. uploading icons is cool. Uploading, for instance, my phoenix mod with powerX doing more damage because you thought it was weak would likely be considered bad form.)
3. Uploading someone else's work within a larger context, you should ask their permission and give credit if possible. (i.e. if I love your icons and want to include them with my mod's second release soon, I should only do so with your expressed permission, with no attempt to pass them off as my own work.)

I think those just about cover the standard etiquette for situations such as this.

Definite 2 thumbs up here as well. I'm already playing him with the Cyclops, Phoenix and Beast mods on this site. It's so awesome to have the full first X-Men team playable (Bobby's on reserve since I've already played as him).

Crazy side-note: Using the sound files imported from XML-2 (on the modding sound rundown page) you can give Angel a few speaking lines as he plays. Granted, his voices come from the battle when he was Archangle so he says stuff like 'You're as feable as Xavier's dream for peace' and 'Praise to Apocalypse' but he does have some lines. Same with Beast as well (except it's Dark Beast's lines).

Archangel was his codename for a while, it was more than 1 costume. However, only one of the 4 skins dark used is 'Archangel', so the name fits.

Anyways, I did a skin like the style above for the 'box.  The 'box version will have Modern, Archangel, [undecided, probably DM's defender] and then Death.

Not you. He needs an icon set and, since I have no clue how to convert them, I'm relying on someone else to do it.

Wonder if I just make a normal .bmp file, would it be suitable for someone to convert it into an icon file? Or are there special requirements?

Dark I just rented TMNT for the Wii... lotsa fun if you played any of the new Prince of Persia games.  Every time I go to rent MUA for Wii it's out so I haven't tried that one yet.  Cool!

Hey, I found a skin of the Angel at the link below in the XML2 assets.  What would he be called?  (Retro, Astonishing, etc)

Incidentally, this screen is going to be a loading screen along with the standard Death (horseman) Angel screen.

That's his space suit skin (you can easily insert it ingame by skinning that skin over the one with wings, as they have the same geometry). Don't know what you would really call it, since it's just like the other characters' space suit skins.

Original Angel should be available for download tonight or tomorrow.  It'll have the skin, the original PSD file I used if anyone wants to try and fix up the face more, and a portrait.  All I have to do is find the specular map so I can remove the shine from the wings.  (it uses the Angel-as-Death model)

Okay,

Well no one else listed it so i'm guessing it's just me here, but the skills for his outfits are kinda screwy. For instance with his 2nd skin the power damage bonus is -100%. Then his healing factor for his first is 0%. Also, I git the same bug as before where his powers stop causing damage and tried switching him in and out but to no avail. Anyone get any further with this? Or anyone have any ideas I could try as this mod rocks and i'd love to help out.

How long have you played until you get that bug?
I got that bug when I played for like 30 mins to 1hr...
I have to start a new game because saving at Xtracting points doesn't help...but that bug is resurrected 30 mins later in the new game... :laugh:

I still hadn't even gotten to the first save point. Though I think I got it fixed. I ran through the coding for the outfits and fixed some referencing issues. Not only have I not had the bug again, but it fixed the issues with the passives themselves.

But, I see you use Magneto: Does his Leviation move work for you?

Welcome,

What is wrong with powers dmg? when I go into another/different location all powers do 1 dmg, but when I go into shield point on this location and get change team (without any changes just leave it) the powers will work back again.

Anyone can fix it????

GodGinrai could you send me fixed "angel.engb" ? I fix all in outfits coding but this not repair the bug and my dmg still is decreased to 1 when I get next location.

Hey Gouki,

Really, all I ended up doing was making the bug less prevalent. It still shows up, but less often. The only "fix" I've really got for it was to hit an extraction point and change him out, then switch him back in. After a few days of crashing the game and making Angel worse I just gave up. But I did get the outfits (seemingly) to work prefect; though you seem to have done that as well.

Sorry for the let down!

But, perhaps we underlings can beseech the godly modders of this wonderful site to give us their attention in this area and work their magical magic to make a fully working Angel?!
