She is very fun to play with indeed except for one glitch I noticed. Using her and Jean on a team Moonstone fires Jean's fiery balls (for others it will be psychic spikes for me it is fiery balls as I'm using the MUAII version). Other than that she is a whole lot of fun to use!

Finally my little project is released!

Moonstone 2.0
Preview Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwsIR-sKKO8

This mod includes:

- 10 powers (2 doesn't cost energy points, 5 normal powers, 2 boost and 1 xtreme)
- 4 skins (MUA2 White and Gold, Ms. Marvel, Thunderbolts, Meteorite ) + 1 bonus skin not included in the herostat(Alternate White and Gold)
- Sounds
- Icons, Huds, Loadscreen, Character Banner
- Mannequin

Version 2.0 New Link:
http://www.mediafire.com/?rnzyntigojy

Updates since the last release:

- New Herostat. The last one was a disaster, and had several errors, erased some unused lines, added/changed some of the existing ones, added the "cantrowally" line so she can use the fastball especial now. Changed the name from the first skin from "Moonstone" to "Heroic Age".
- Changed some name from some powers on the powerstyle and talents. Also added the energy resistance passive to Moonstone.
- An alternate powerstyle and talent file without  the powers of "Intangibility" and "Solid". Use the new herostat.
- Changes to my previous skins using the face and hair from Deedooo's Moonstone "Hammer" skin. Alternate Heroic Age (called Moonstone_White_Gold_Alt) ps2 skin with the Thunderbolts logo on her shoulders. Changed the model for her Ms. Marvel skin and fixed the star on her chest that looks MUCH better than the last one. Fixed the "gold" parts on all of her costumes.

Please report any bug here or in my workbench tread. Positive feedback is always appreciated. If someone has an account on a different site from Mediafire, please post a mirror for those who can't access to Mediafire :)

Thanks to:

Blaw - Mannequin, Moonstone MUA2 skin, help.

Norrin Radd, Blizz, Dark Mark, ThePhoenix, Dihan - Effects and codes.

Thanks!! I'm glad that you liked the mod, your words are very kind :)

On a side note...

Version 1.1 is up, that was fast!!! lol

Fixed the glitch on her Thunderbolt while you use Jean Grey on the same team. Also she's totally compatible with Magneto and his shockwaves, no glitches with that power.
Same team, but each one has her own projectile:

I also icluded a patch for those who had downloaded the last version, that patch includes the necesary files to fix the bug. If you found another bug, just let me know :)

Holy cow. I looked at it and took a double take at the person who made this mod. Very surprised, considering you only started modding recently. Very good. You, I think, may have a future ranked up there with Dihan, Teancum, BLaw, and the other great modders of this site.

Appearaning to dashing out to the right in mid-air. Other poses don't really look good :P

And I'll kind match Songbird's manny.

Thank you! I'm glad that you liked her, and thanks to everyone for the nice words :)
About the manny that's Blaw's work, he explained to me that he's doing flying mannequins to all the characters that can fly, so he can use the front line of the menu for mannequins of characters who can't fly. And:

I believe that the manny looks different and I liked it, maybe the pose is not a standard one but she still looks great :)

Oh by the way, Marvelfan, the patch worked? no more problems with Jean Grey?

I took a pic while I was testing some characters out with a pretty empty roster to show what I meant. I like the idea of the pose being different but I think that the right leg is what makes her look so odd. If it was tucked in or bent at the knee it would look more natural. The mod is still an A regardless :D

Post by: whiteking on November 01, 2009, 03:19PM
I know how she looks, I put a pic on the first page with suggstions of places where she looks great, so the mannequin does not hinder to the others.
I won't ask Blaw if he want to make a different mannequin since I know that he has a lot of work in progress and manny more to do, and I liked this one, so if he or another person want to make a new mannequin it's welcome. And I can inlcude it here with the mod as an alternate version. Until then, the mannequin will be the same.
Thanks for the suggestions and the comments :)

If nobody likes it, use the MUA2 moonstone as a mannequin. It's in a T-pose, so that'll help a while.

Post by: Angel on November 01, 2009, 04:51PM
I'm not saying its bad or that I don't like. I was just commenting that the right legs makes the pose look odd. Didn't mean to offend either of you, I apologize if I did though.

hey. i finaly got around to trying it (darned homework!) and moonstone is a great character! my favorite teams with her are either marvelous (self named) with ms marvel and her or dark avengers. one thing i noticed is that when you can use the intangimability power while flying, which circumvents the "jump to stop intangimability" addition.

That's precisely why I add the deactivation power "Solid". If you are walking and become intangible is easier to deactivate the power if you just jump, but if you are flying you can't do that, so just activate Solid and everything will be back to normal.

Hey whiteking, did you want the mod to use fightstyle_default or fightstyle_moonstone?

I saw these 2 statements in the herostat:

      talent {
      level = 1 ;
      name = fightstyle_default ;
      }

      talent {
      level = 1 ;
      name = fightstyle_moonstone ;
      }

If you wanted fightstyle_moonstone, I didn't see the packages files for fightstyle_moonstone and I didn't see you define it in the talents either.

I tried to add to her a third skeleton (fightsyle_moonstone) for her shockwaves (in order to use magneto animations). I added the entry that define the new fighstyle to her talents and I created the package and everything else but didn't worked, so I decided to use the existing animations in her main skeleton.
I erased the entry in her talents and deleted the packages as well, but seems that I forgot to change her herostat entry too. I will try again with the third skeleton later, maybe I have luck this time.

Here is my current project:
http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=3770.msg76263#msg76263
A mod for Mockingbird. Honestly I'm not a fan of Chimera so no mod for her, or at least not made by me. Same as the Goblin Queen, there's an existing mod for her, so there's no point on making another one, especially when the existing mod is really good.
And about this:

Quote from: Redqueen on December 23, 2009, 09:31PM
:phoenix: Hey white king can u make another one goblin queen's outfit the one like this
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5VgL6ZXwkaw/ShvfTrwg8fI/AAAAAAAAOCA/MlC31bVqNf0/s1600-h/Uncanny+X-Men+510-2.jpg

:emmafrost: And also emma Frost Dark Reign outfit please!!!!
abd put it in Zip folder thing

I'm not taking request since I have a lot of work now, but I like both skins so I'll keep them in mind, but not now. Mmmm now that you mention it, I believe that Blaw is/was working on a Black Queen Emma, not sure if he's still has plans for her.

Thanks for the comment about Moonstone, I'm glad that you liked her :)

About Emma, Matt710 did a great booster for her avaliable here:
http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=3007.msg49908#msg49908

It features the psy beam and psionic insanity that you listed in your request, she also has a radial attack that stun her foes and deal mental dmg, the only things that are missing are the bolt and the shockwaves.
I don't have any plans to boost Emma since, in my opinion, she's complete now, probably the only move that sounds good to add are the shockwaves (like the opening scene from Wolverine's show right?), but it's a maybe since I'm currently busy with Mockingbird and Nova.

The only thing that I'm planning for Emma are some skins in a new model, and will be released when mr. Law releases some boltons that  I requested to him. The list are:
- New Xmen (XML1)
- Generation X (Suit)
- Black Queen (Dark Reign)
- X3 (Custom skin made by me)
- Wolverine origins (Requested by Mr. Law)
- Extra skin, not sure yet, you can post your sugestions in my workbench tread ^^

About the effects, I won't do anything with them until Lord Frankie releases his update (He's making new effects for her)
You can put your request i the request tread if you want it (thanks Deedooo for the suggestion), maybe someone else wants to boost her with your ideas :)

Hey whiteking I was wondering if it is possible to use the shockwave effect in xml2? That transparent effect that looks like soundwaves.
Will that work in XML2?

Honestly I don't know, you should ask that to Dark Mark, since the shockwave effect is from his Magneto mod, and I never tried the effect on XML2.

No Doubt jr - XML2 mod

Thanks to those that provided the MUA2 PS2 and Wii files.

Special Thanks to Gevth who helped me a lot on this mod. Thank you my friend :)

I really like this character, her effects are gorgeous and she's pretty fun to play. It's a shame that Crushing Discord was not inlcuded but Mr. Law is working on a new mace so an update for her is on my list, I also will update her effects on her xtreme since the pink particles are lost by some reason, so I'll look for them.
As I told you before she has a bug, she doesn't regenerate her energy points after have used her powers, it's pretty weird. Not a big problem when you are playing with all the team but if you are playing just with her, you'll have to be carefull about how do you spend her energy. If someone has an idea of why this is happening, post it on my workbench or send me a pm.
I decided to release her because outside those details she's practically done and works fine on the game and many people has been waiting for her.

Report any bug on my workbench please.

Hope you like it :)

http://www.mediafire.com/?bd6ydxjcb5zcov7

Thanks to:
Blizz for his original Emma Frost mod and Matt710 for his booster.
Nodoubt_jr for the help with the new textures and Empath code from his Revanche mod that was used on Telepathic Illusions.
Blaw and his amazing tutorials. Also for the New X-men Mesh (19803/19807) and the Astral Form mesh.
Tetragene for her 1st boost sound.
Dark Mark- codes and shockwaves effects.
Lord Frankie- His effects inspired me to try and finally create my own effects.
Nowhere Man- Help with the dialogs for the sim mission for Emma Frost.
Jeanfan321- Thanks for remind me that I had to work again on the sim mission ^^
Dihan- the effect for her Diamond Form.
Shadowslacks- the effect for her Astral Shock.
The people behind Wolverine and The Xmen show, some powers are inspired by.
You for download this mod.

This is probably the mod of why I'm most proud, because I played with a lot of stuff here, I finally was able to add a third skeleton, I edited some textures and effects and also I played a bit with the codes of some powers.
She started as a mini booster but slowly she became a full mod with a big update to all of her powers. First I updated her 4 original XML1 powers.
Telepathic Illusions (Fear) has a random effect on her foes, some can be stunned and some other just run in fear, It doesn't deal a lot of damage but on the other side you have all of your enemies on the radious under your control, that's really fun.
Mind Control (Command) now deals damage and also update the fighting skills of the converted enemies.
Diamond Form includes multiple resistances, telepathic inmunity and super strenght.
Psychic Bedlam has a new texture :)
And of course the new powers based on Wolverine and the X-men that you should try it so I won't say anything else :P
But enough of this, just download her and tell me what do you think ;)

Report any bug on my workbench please.

Hope you like it :)

There is a shortcut, if we have an Energy Regen trouble on Songbird:
Pause Game>God Mode = U,D,U,D,U,L,D,R,Start

U=Up D=Down L=Left, R=Right

Easy.

Cheating is not an option :P
@whiteking may be you've deleed some block in talents(or powerstyle I'm not sure) which gives energy regeneration?

Also make sure you're not using MUA2 handlers and stuff, recheck the herostat code for anything weird. Talentfile might be it.

Thank you for the feedback.
@Mr Law: I'll look for that, but I'm sure that the powerstyle is ok since I used Ms. Marvel's as my base. It should be something n the talents but not sure which part.

@Marquis. If im right the only line for energy regeneration included in the talents is the passive called "Energy Regeneration" one that increase the speed of regeneration (Passive).
And thanks for the nice words :)

This is serious. Obviously that code is not an option so, if you don't have something usefull to post, don't do it. Thank you.

Aside from this, does anyone has a problem with the mods?, both works as they should?

Whiteking, just checked out the videos. Wow. In one of my recent play throughs, I used the previous Emma mod with mega booster and really enjoyed her. I think your modifications look great. Love the effect around her head when she uses her powers. And the astral projection is really cool. Would love to see a Prof X booster with this power added (hint, hint).

Songbird looks really cool too. I'll give her a try, even with the energy regen issues.

Thank you, I enjoyed the megabooster too, and that's why I tried to mimic the improvements for the 4 official powers (Fear, Command, Diamond Form, Psychic Bedlam) with a few extras. The effect on her head and the astral power are something that I really loved about the new mod and i'm very proud of it ^^
Hehe, I won't update Prof X, honestly the only 3 telepaths that I really care are Emma, Phoenix and Psylocke, and Jean has a lot of boosters while Betsy has an incredible mod in progress by Dihan, so that's enough for me :)

About the loadscreen you can use his, since it's compatible with the mod, but I would like to make my version. And about the power, the name will stay the same since If I'm right Jean has an attack called like that in one of the many boosters for her, so I wanted something different for Emma.

Her knockback is a powerfull kick and she has unique melee moves from MUA2.
And that's really weird because I just asked to Nowhere man and he told me that Songbird has her melee moves on his game, check if you isntalled the files on the correct folder.

Edit. I noiced your "nevermind" line, lol :)

It was a hard choice becuase that power replaces Crushing Discord who has a little bug with the mace, but I guess that the new power works fine untill I fix the mace thing.

Ohh and just to let you know, that I've been playing with Songbird and she indeed recovers her energy points, but she do it slowly, so there's no bug on her after all ^^

ohh i found a little bug on Emma Her Mesh aka Her ultimate mesh (the skin that replaces Her New x-men) when you use diamond form she changes into that new diamond mesh by Mr Law but when you block she doesnt go back to the original skin

i also realized Songbird's sonic scream is her fusion move with spider-man and the effect for it looks so good i cant stop using it

About her mesh, that's weird, because Mr. Law edited the internal numbers of the mesh so it's totally compatible and I did not edited anything from it. Also I tested that mesh and it worked fine on my game. Try using the ps2 models that I included on the mod and see if the diamond form works.

The New X-men skin numbers are:
19803 Normal
19807 Diamond

I already included the ps2 versions of them.

On other notes, I released a mini-update to Songbird.
I added the original MUA2 fusion effects to her Xtreme and now looks much better in my opinion. Also there's indeed a bug on her energy regeneration but on the passive of the first skin, I fixed this too.

This is how the new effects looks on the xtreme:

1.- The star appears (Yay!):
(http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/3905/scream1.th.png) (http://img257.imageshack.us/i/scream1.png/)

2.- A big explosion (Oh noes!):
(http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4003/scream2.th.png) (http://img143.imageshack.us/i/scream2.png/)

3.- An expansive wave (Cool!):

Everyone who downloaded the mod before May-25-2010, 8:09 PM marvel mods time ^^ and had already installed Songbird, just download the mini-pack or download the full mod from the new link that contains the fixed files, there's no need to start a new game.

Got a chance to play with both Songbird and Emma this evening. Excellent work, Whiteking! I like Emma's Mental Spheres. Much better long distance attack than her old Psychic Beam.

Songbird is pretty nice, too. I don't have MUA2, so I don't have anything to compare her too. But this is primo work, sir.

Thank you very much. I love mental spheres too, and it's fun to see her enemies "flying" after being touched by the power ^^
I don't have MUA2, but I saw videos on youtube and mr. Gevth and I tried to make her powers closer to the original.

Emma Frost 1.0
Preview Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umLhumVRjc8

This mod includes:
- 9 powers (4 official powers [XML1 powers updated], 5 custom powers, 1 boost)
- 5 skins (XML1 New X-Men new model, Astonishing, White Queen, X-men the last stand/Steampunk Saloon Girl ) + 1 bonus skin not included in the herostat (Alternate XML1 New X-Men PS2)
- Sounds
- Icons, Huds, Character Banner, loadscreen (one more in progress)
- Mannequin

-Link-
http://www.mediafire.com/?hymyy2tkm2u

Thanks to:
Blaw - New- Xmen mesh, Astral Form mesh and diamond form for Saloon Girl and X3 skins
Blizz and Matt710 original Emma Frost mod and Megabooster.
No Doubt jr - Help with the new textures and Empath code from his Revanche mod that was used on Telepathic Illusions.
Dark Mark- codes and shockwaves effects.
Tetragene for her 1st boost sound.
The people behind Wolverine and The Xmen show, some powers are inspired by.

THIS IS THE BEST EMMA FROST MODS EVER !!!!!!!!!

It's not a bug, the original Emma Frost mod (By Blizz and my base for this mod) has the line "canthrowally" in her herostat.
I left that line because i like to imagine that she turns into diamond and can use the fastball special with wolverine lol, and I don't know if it's possible to add that move only on her diamond form so, if you think it's weird just erase that line in her herostat.

Thanks to everyone for the nice words, I'm really happy to know that you liked the new mod :)

If you can find the powerstyle entry for the ally throw then it might be possible to limit it to when that Diamond Form boost is activated.

Put this in the throw:

   fallback = (put the original throw entry name here) ;

And:

      require {
      cat = affecter ;
      item = special ;
      level = 5 ;
      }

Then in the boost put this:

         affecter {
         affect_type = sum ;
         attribute = special ;
         level = 5 ;
         }

The number in "level =" can be anything.

you could also just have her turn into diamond anytime she throws an ally and then turn back to human or remain in diamond form if she is already in that form.

Hello, There is a problem with some Emma's icons. When I play with a joystick, psionic slam and psionic blast doesn't have icons.

Mmm that's weird I'm sure that both powers has the correct icon on both powerstyle and talent file. After read your message, I though that the problem was the same than Cates Apocalypse mod and go to my powerstyle to check this:

Quote from: nodoubt_jr on May 27, 2010, 03:57PM
Cates I think gamepad people are having issues because the powerstyle is missing iconfile = textures/ui/apocalypse_icons1.png ;

playable files have this,
XMLB PowerStyle {
cansteal = true ;
iconfile = textures/ui/america_icons.png ;

at the beginning. and apocalypse doesnt, he has this
XMLB PowerStyle {
cansteal = false ;

no texture entry at the top. in xml2 the powerstyle is were gamepads get their icon info from, so it may be the same for MUA.

But my powerstyle indeed has that line. So I'm not sure why do you have that problem.

Just found a tat of a glitch in Emma. When in Diamond form, you need to block, then she still says diamond, but you can use all the other powers, then you need to be in diamond mode again, then block again, and then she becomes human. Is there anyway this is fixable (it looks really weird though, Emma using her telepatich in diamond form XD)

That's the mesh that Blaw did, and I don't know why many people has problems with the diamond form, it worked well on my game. Jeanfan had a similar problem and then it was fixed, perhaps you should ask him about it.

I have a question about Emma. If I wanted to use the Generation X costume she has in the first Emma mod made by Blizz would that skin and its diamond form skin work for this booster.
Title: Re: Whiteking's mods UPDATED - Songbird 1.0, Emma Frost 1.0, Moonstone 1.1
Post by: whiteking on June 03, 2010, 03:44PM
Yes, I included packages and the code on the powerstyle so every skin included on Blizz and Matt's mods, as well of the alternate skins from Matt, are compatible with my mod.
Test them and if you have a problem, just let me know :)

By the way, it's possible that Emma can be killed with her own astral power, remember that some foes has the attribute of reflecting your own powers/damage to you.
Characters like Dr. Strange, Scarlet Witch, Enchantress, Elektra and now my Emma Frost, that has an instant kill power are vulnerable to this.
I post this because someone sent me a pm asking me if this is a bug or somehting, but no, it's pretty normal.
Also I think I'm going to update Jean's npc, she and her only mental powers were too easy against Emma and her diamond form. Fire and physical damage should work :)

I was thinking on that attack on her MUAII version that ignites her enemies with a gradual fire damage (Updated Psionic Boom???), add a knockback to her spike and probably one more attack, not sure how many animations she has on her NPC skeleton.

Modders: Remember when the XML1 bosses had "Xtreme" powers too??? Is that possible on MUA??

i love moonstone. she is a permanent staple on my team now. you did a really amazing job on her.

i like emma frost in the comics but i didn't like the way her mods were until you fixed that. i love the astral projectile power (so unique :D) and the shockwaves are really fun too. so thanks :).

i had to adjust a few aesthetic things on songbird to get her perfect (i added the thunderbolts skin from the xml2 mod and i removed the wing bolton and added a pink version of the pheonix wings [pic] (http://i48.tinypic.com/wrz04z.jpg)), but it is an amazing mod and a blast to play. good job.

I'm glad that you liked Moonstone and Emma. And about Songbird, that's the best part about modding, you can modify your characters (the wings looks great, you should release them for all the people who doesn't like the regular wings).

Yes, it would be perfect! But i still want to get Blaw's transparent wings xD

i decided against putting them on the menu because that would be slightly distracting (imo, but i still will include an option for those who do want the menu wings) and the wings are also on the second power, fifth power and i'm working on making the wings work on the x-treme power. and i think i'm going to try and make them work on the grabsmash too.

Deedoo.
You should put this disscussion on your workbench, because although it's related to my mod, it's not my work anymore, so this is not the place to disscuss about the new wings.

-Moonstone 2.0-
Get the mod HERE (http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,3914.msg73481.html#msg73481)

Use the new herostat included on the new mod.

(http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3317/moonstoneskinscopia.th.jpg) (http://img28.imageshack.us/i/moonstoneskinscopia.jpg/)

I recomend to install again the mod and use the new herostat.
I will add the sim mission later, still working on it :)

Thanks to:

Blaw - Mannequin, Moonstone MUA2 skin, help.
No Doubt jr - Voice Sounds, help, codes
Norrin Radd, Blizz, Dark Mark, ThePhoenix, Dihan - Effects and codes.
Iammingy - IW's force field block code, fixed Icons.
Burning Rage - Help, codes.
Deedooo - Moonstone Hammer skin. The hair and face was used for the updates to the existing skins.

remember how i diamond form doesn't work that well?Well i changed her Mesh by Blaw and put the Ps2 skin and when i activate diamond form and block it works!And i kinda like the Ps2 Ultimate Skin even though it's not a mesh

The PS2 skin is the original PS2 skin from XML1, I just updated the texture using the one from Blaw's mesh.

it was probably a problem that derived from the customness of the mesh, so it makes sense, really.

As I posted before I'm not sure why some people are having problems with the mesh that Blaw did, because it works in my game.
But I added the alternate skin so if anyone else has problems with the diamond form from the first skin, just replace the mesh with the ps2 skin.

Jean Grey NPC *Power Upgrade*
Preview Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoG6RYHS13c

Download the mod HERE (http://www.mediafire.com/?mdzmzzwmzz4)

This is the little upgrade that I did for Jean's NPC on MUA1.
She's basically a weak boss on the game, she's so easy to beat, so I gave her some changes.

1.- Added the effects from MUA2 Wii.
2.- Changed the type of damage on all of her attacks, she was a mental dmg character, so I added both fire and physical damage.
3.- Added a new power from Shadowslacks, Jean Tk booster
4.- A unique conversation between my Emma Frost mod and Jean.

(http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8480/emmajeanconversation.th.png) (http://img36.imageshack.us/i/emmajeanconversation.png/)

Important!
a) She's more powerfull, but not overpowered, so that makes the fight much better and fun, but not imposible to beat. And no I wont change her again. I like how she turned out.
b) The special conversation between Emma and Jean, ends something valuable (almost sacred) for many old school fans of the x-men. Remember when I told you that mr. Law and I decided to changes one thing or 2 on MUA story and continuity??? Well this is the beggining and I honestly don't care about MUA continuity, the best part of being a modder is that you can break that lol ^^
c) Go to \conversations\act2\murder\murder2 and delete the following files:
2_murder2_014_dlc.engb
2_murder2_70m.engb
2_murder_072_dlc.engb

This is to prevent that the new features overload MUA's memory for that level, delete those files or you will encounter this problem:

Quote from: xlehnsherr on October 26, 2008, 10:10PM
1. At the point when saving the sanator kelly, the dialog box shows up all empty and takes a while before going away.
2. Then, inside the tent to fight jean, happens the same thing with the dialog box and then when the dialog is over and fight is supposed to begin, all characters just stay there and do nothing! No button or command works and the game just sticks right and won't move further anymore and not even "ESC" works!

I'm not that bitch you know? so if you don't want the conversation, don't install the next folders:
- Conversations
- Scripts
- Packages

Thanks to:
nspace/activision.- MUA2 Wii Jean Grey.
shadowslacks.- Jean Grey XML2 Tk booster.
Nowhere Man.- Help with the unique conversation.

Report any bug here or in my workbench, oh and make a backup. Enjoy!

-Emma Frost Mod v 2.0-

- Added Hardness that reflect damage back to her foes (like in XML1)
(http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/362/hardness.th.png) (http://img535.imageshack.us/i/hardness.png/)

- Added Psionic Fury that adds mental damage to her melee moves (like in XML1)
(http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/8752/psionicfury.th.png) (http://img97.imageshack.us/i/psionicfury.png/)

- Added an alternate hud for her New X-men skin. Located in the huds folder by the name "hud_head_19803_alternate.igb". You can see how it looks like on the preview video of Jean's Npc or in the folowing preview pictures.
- Added 2 new passives to replace Rock Hard:
a) Psi of the Highest Order (1st skin).- Being a skilled mutant, Emma increases the experience earned.
b) World-class Telepath (4th skin).- Using her experience and skill, Emma has a chance to temporarily increase her powers in level.
- Updated her diamond form with a new feature, now she can reflect bolts and is practically inmune to beams, based on this pictures:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vmizTggXAos/StDYoVVOZWI/AAAAAAAABFU/8IWw-ROTDWY/s1600-h/X-MenVSAgentofAtlas02-FirstLook.png
http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/3/33806/1162788-61_heralds_1.jpg
- While using the fast ball special, she nows transform herself into diamond.

(http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/3138/fastball1.th.png) (http://img267.imageshack.us/i/fastball1.png/)
(http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/8955/fastball2.th.png) (http://img13.imageshack.us/i/fastball2.png/)
(http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/8772/fastball3.th.png) (http://img85.imageshack.us/i/fastball3.png/)

-Added her own sim mission against her possesed lover Dark Cyclops (with custom dialogs to match Jean's new conversation in Muerderworld)

(http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/6388/emmasimmission.th.png) (http://img269.imageshack.us/i/emmasimmission.png/)

Known bugs:
-If you are already using the Diamond form and you perform the fastball speciall, she will revert back to human but retain the attributes from the boost, so just press block to deactivate.

Get the version 2.0 HERE (http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,3914.msg90031.html#msg90031)

The mod has a new herostat, so I recomend to use it.
Back up your files and Enjoy!

No, the power never worked and to be honest I never tried again since I loved the final result of the mod, she has great offensive powers and her diamond form is basically the best personal shield on the game like in XML1 :)

this emma booster is clearly one of the best boosters out there,
together with nowhereman or jean_grey_phoenix's Jean, Dihan's Psylocke and jeanfan's Storm they are the most powerful team combination ever !
she sucked in XML1 and wasnt even playable in XML2 but now this mod really does her justice
may I know what is meant by adding a third skeleton and what's the second?
is it her animations or her astral form? the next time she appears in a videogame the developers should definitely see this carefully as a reference

Thanks you very much!
I tried to give her justice. In my opinion she's one of the best characters on XML1... as a tank. I mean she was practically invulnerable on her diamond form and her passives was amazing because they added damage to her melee moves and she reflected damage herself. I swear I can kill a Sentinel just with Emma and her diamond form in XML1. But on the other side her telepathic powers were weak.
That's what I tried to improve in this mod, give her a great offensive telepathic powers and a diamond form that protect her and at the same time can be used to punch and kick hard.

Add a skelleton means that you add another set of animations. You can see that she has her XML1 animations, but those are only 4 (tp illusions, mind control, diamond form and psychic bedlam) nothing else. So I added 2 extra skelletons, in this case, Ms. Marvel's and Invisible Woman's for the remaining powers.

wouldnt it be cool if while in diamond form some sort of shiny boost effects appear around her body to distinguish between her human and diamond form more clearly? (maybe like Colossus' Steel Skin)
but your booster is perfect already as it is
one thing I remembered from XML1 was the bug on Emma's psionic combat passive where its damage do not increase when powered up to its max level (I was like 'what? I want my skill point back !') , while the bug was not present on Jean so combined with Mental Mastery she could kill anyone without mental resistance with one punch...
how complicated is it to add 2 more skeletons to a character ?

Never seen Colossus steel skin (because I've never used him lol) could you please take a screenshot for me?
Add a new effect to her diamond form is not a problem but I'll have to search for a shiny effect beacuse I don't know which one could be used.

I've never had that problem in XML1, Emma's psionic combat is fine, as I told you before she's basically the best melee fighter with the best defense on my game.

thats true^^ she and Jean Grey where really good at handling those human form sentinels gosh i miss that game it was longer than XMl2 and harder and i didnt have a hard mode lol if you correctly level up there psionic strike then it wouldnt matter if the sentinels are mental resistance i used Emma Frost,Wolverine,Storm,and jean grey to beat the game i used jean shield cause it prattically made us invincible used Storms shield cause it took heavy damage too and used Emma and Wolvie

I'll take a screenshot of Colossus later when I got home,
I think out of all Raven developed Marvel games (including X-Men Origins Wolverine) , XML 1 is the best,
it has the best storyline, great villains and locations which makes us really feel like an X-Man
the level designs are fantastic compared those repetitive dungeon maps we find in XML2 and MUA1 (rocking out New York or battling above a ship are pretty damn cool, not to mention the appearance of the entire X-Mansion)
one of the most memorable act for me was when the mansion was invaded by some troops and Jean wasn't playable, to stop these troops from shooting the only way is by stunning them with Emma and when the Sentinels attack the mansion while Magneto was there
also the boosts and passives are very nicely done and well structured so every character feels different and the difficulty of the game depends on our choice of team and allocations of points (unlike XML2 where you could finish the game with any character), there were no stupid useless boosts like those found in XML2 (increases Luck,drop rate,energy dmg reduction,EP into HP,resistances,wth?)
Title: Re: Whiteking's mods UPDATED - Emma Frost 2.0 & NPC Jean Grey

In XMl1 Emma really was weak. Her diamond form wasn't bad but I am the type of person who likes using powers rather than melee attacks so she was probably the character I used the least. In my first playthrough I used everyone regularly (although Cyke, Wolverine, Jean, and Storm were used a little more than others). In my second playthrough I think I used her for 2-3 other missions besides the Astral one. So I'm glad that you've as well as others have helped make her way better in combat.

BTW I love the pink radial attack you gave Jean. I only saw it in the video so far as I haven't played Act 2 yet but the attack still looks really cool.

That's from Shadowslacks booster from XML2, it's great because Jean usually uses that attack in combination with her psychic spike, you will see what I'm talking about when you face her :)

Whiteking didn't you say that you never saw the conversation Jean has with Cyclops at the end. I was just playing now and at the end of the duel Cyke didn't say anything special to Jean. I think the newest OCM stopped this conversation as the older one 1.0 and maybe 1.1 had this conversation.

BTW fought against her and she is awesome to fight against. She is really powerful especially with her radial tk attack.

Reading the "Technical Problems" tread, I found that Dark_Mark detected that the problem in Murderworld was caused by Cyclops conversations, so I asumed that he erased them and that was the reason of why my game crashed when I tried to use his files.
Thanks, I'm glad that her fight is much better than before :)

are you guys planning on updating any other NPC i think Cyclops and Psylocke should be updated like Psylocke i think she should have some powers from Dihan mod of her (with his permission of course) and Cyclops with the OC he should have his 3 strongest power like Riochet Blast(his 4th power) Optic Explosion and his 1st power which i don't remember the name ill be glad to help and i think Storm and Hussar should also have a special conversation too cause there enemies just saying don't take it any other way :)
Title: Re: Whiteking's mods UPDATED - Emma Frost 2.0 & NPC Jean Grey
Post by: whiteking on June 24, 2010, 10:05PM
Psylocke will be replaced by a new NPC of Dark Emma Frost that I'm planning. She will join Dark Cyclops (that also will have an update) and will have a special conversation with normal Cyclops.
But dont' worry Psylocke will replace Dark Captain America, I may ask Dihan about his mod for a future update to the NPC. Storm and Hussar, no I dont' think so, there's enough with the special conversation between both on Storm's sim mission.

cool!! cause there was so much x-men that got defeated by dr doom and you never fought them i saw emma prof x gambit, and magneto.for Dark Emma what powers are you giving her? ahh wait this isn't the right discussion this should be with the ''Alternate Bosses'' project

EDIT: (you don't have to do this) just a little request but i think on the Shiar mission there should be special conversations with the X-men since that's pratically a whole map related to them and i could help too

a) She's more powerfull, but not overpowered, so that makes the fight much better and fun, but not imposible to beat.

Jean Grey NPC *Power Upgrade*
Preview Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoG6RYHS13c

1.- Added the effects from MUA2 Wii.
2.- Changed the type of damage on all of her attacks, she was a mental dmg character, so I added both fire and physical damage.
3.- Added a new power from Shadowslacks, Jean Tk booster
4.- A unique conversation between my Emma Frost mod and Jean.

Bassically that were the changes plus.
Psychic Bolt  has increased speed and knockback, like your booster.
Psionic Boom, now deals fire damage, so Psylocke and Emma Frost along other mental resist/imnune characters can be affected.
Telekinetic lift, it basically the attack in your booster, she pops you into the air.

And by some unknown reason, she's more aggressive, perhaps it was because I used Emma and Cyclops to fight her and the previous conversation between both (also included on the mod) lol :)

@tymaca321
Yeah writing the dialogs it's pretty fun, especially because you can change everything with a few lines (ask Jean, lol)
Thanks, I also love the new dialogs on both the fight and the sim mission, "allow me to say that are bitchy!" ^^

-Emma Frost Effects Mini-Update-

This is the last update to my mod for Emma Frost and it's bassically an update to her effects.

Added a second loadscreen, I'm very proud of the telepathic effect on her head ^^
(http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/2415/emmaloadscreen.th.png) (http://img535.imageshack.us/i/emmaloadscreen.png/)

Added a new effect to her diamond form. Sparkles!
Dihan did this for me and I loved it, i just increased a bit the size of the sparkles.
(http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8277/diamondsparkle1.th.png) (http://img9.imageshack.us/i/diamondsparkle1.png/)  (http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/6656/diamondsparkle2.th.png) (http://img819.imageshack.us/i/diamondsparkle2.png/)

And finally I changed the impact effect on her Astral Shock power. Now her astral form explode at contact.
(http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/9168/astralimpact1.th.png) (http://img526.imageshack.us/i/astralimpact1.png/)  (http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3263/astralimpact4.th.png) (http://img4.imageshack.us/i/astralimpact4.png/)

If you have istalled Emma, you dont' have to start a new game, but if you are going to intall Emma for first time, install the v2.0 of the mod, then the mini-update and start a new game with default stats.

Important this is not the full mod, just an update.
Get the mod HERE (http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,3914.msg90031.html#msg90031)

Thanks to:
Dihan for the effect for her Diamond Form.
Shadowslacks for the effect for her Astral Shock.

Report any bug in my workbench please.
And now I'm going to update Songbird, I'll add the "Eagle's dive" power (see previews on my workbench), a loadscreen and a sim mission.

Important!
I noticed that I made a mistake with Emma's talent file on the latest version of the mod, I'm not sure if this will cause a bug or somehting, because I did not had time to play with her, but to avoid future problems, I updated the link of v2.0 with the fixed file and I also included the latest updates (the sparkles, loadscreen, etc.)
So, to all the people who have downloaded and installed the version 2.0, please download the mod again and replace the talent with the new file inlcuded in the new release or install everything again, you don't have to start a new game.

My apologize for this failure and please report to me if something is wrong with the mod.

Someone else requested that, and I said no, mostly because from all the original MUA characters, Invisible Woman is the only one that I considered "complete" with great powers, the only thing misssing were her skins but, now whe have more variety.
Also there's already a booster for her, search on the release section of the forum.
By the way, Tetragene made the Dazzler mod.

Hi!!! I've downloaded Emma Frost mod and it's great!! i just have a small problem with her diamond form. When i activate it and then press block to deactivate it she won't go back to her human form although she can use her powers. I must press again diamond form and then again block to return to her normal form. Do you know any way so that she returns to her normal form by pressing blocking just once??? Thanks in advance!!  :emmafrost:

:emmafrost: their is a problem with her psychic spike.... you see the telepathy over her head but nothing is shooting out... the enermies dont get hit.... is their a specific person you suppose to write her over??... i am also using jean grey :phoenix: ... i dont kno if the problem is because jean also has psychic spike as an attack.... please help me

jean can't be the problem, might be wanda, cause she has the same entity, but whiteking created a separate entity file. check data/entities and check if there's an emma frost file. there should be one. if not, download the mod again cause I'm sure he made one, cause I have it.

First off, I love your Emma Frost mod. She is awesome. There is just one thing that bothers me: when Emma is in her diamond form, she doesn't take any damage at all. When enemies attack her in her diamond form, they end up getting hurt (which I understand because you are going to hurt your hand if you try punching a diamond rock) but Emma does take any damage. Is that how its suppose to be because it would appear that the player could easily beat the entire game by just keeping Emma in her diamond state.

hasn't it also been hinted (I think I read it somewhere) that emma has a weak spot like in her back or between her eyes, or something like that, and if she gets hit there by like a bullet she will instantly break?  Also I like the diamond form where she is indesctructable because it give you a backup if you're about to die just like with kitty, vision, and moonstone, with their intangibility. and with diamond on you can't use powers which evens it out kind-of, making it fair.

She does have a weak spot. When Esme shot Emma with the diamond bullet (or telepathically forced Angel to) it hit her weak spot which is what shattered her.

I leave the forum 3 days and whole discussion about Emma's diamond form has been started, lol.
I'll "weak" her diamond form for all of those who believe that she's too powerfull.
Yes she has a weak point, hinted to be in her face, between her eyes, but outside that point, she's practically invulnerable to everything... comicvine to the rescue:

QuoteThis ability allows Emma to turn into an unliving, yet sentient and mobile diamond form, granting her substantial resistance to damage, invulnerability to cold and heat, enhanced strength (the extent of which has not yet been clearly defined) and immortality.  While invulnerable to almost all physical damage in diamond form, like a real diamond, Emma has a flaw.  Emma's diamond form can be shattered if she is struck in that right area with the right weapon

And yes, she is inmortal in diamond form, even when she was shattered, Jean Grey was able to feel Emma's consciousness, that was still trapped in her diamond form... technically alive :)

Almost (if not all) of the mods here, needs the Official Characters pack to work corrently. My mods, uses stuff from that pack so that's probably the reason of why she can't punch.
You have to install this first:

http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,3380.0.html

It's the same process that you did with the video. Then install the mod and the minor fix that I recently addded to the download link.
Finally start a new game with the default stats and she should have all her powers and animations working.
If you still has problems just let me know :)

People I added a minor fix for Emma, it's basically an issue with the description and damage inflicted by her Mental Spheres, this one:
http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,3770.msg100828.html#msg100828

I had this issue fixed long time ago,  but I had a lot of things to do that I just forgot this lol. If you have the mod installed, you don't have to start a new game, but if you are going to install the mod for the first time, just install the mod, then the fix and start a new game :)

Whiteking this is amazing, this is the best Emma Frost mod ever, this mod shows Emma perfect. I love the astral shock power.

10/03/2011 EDIT: Dear Whiteking , I am having a problem with Emma's first skin. When I use diamond form and then use block to deactivate she still is in diamond form ( only skin is still diamond form) i can use powers and ect. And then I use diamond form again and block again and then she finally turns back to normal. Can you help me with this , everything else works perfect.

Its cool , but the hair is a little different or so it seems to me. I think its a bit dark/deep blonde. I like more light-blonde color. I mainly look at her hair first lol and then her outfit.

EDIT: I wish someone can make this skin for Emma ( with a diamond form ). Its her astonishing skin ( like from Astonishing X-Men Comics )

Oh I missed a lot of answers here lol, Thanks to everyone for the nice words!
I'm glad that you liked the mod and use it on your games :)

I don't know why all of you have some problems with the first skin (if I'm right it's the mesh that Mr. Law did right?) I tested the mesh and I don't have any problem in my game. But as you may noticed I included the original XML skin so you can use it ;)

Her Astonishing skin is included in the mod that Blizz did for her, the link for the mod is located on the catalog, but as deedooo said, the cape is not around her shoulders, so it's a little bit different. I made a capeless skin based on her current design (with the big X on her chest) that will be available on the XML2 conversion that I'm working at this moment.
Any other problem you have with the mod, please report it here or in my workbench :)

Emma is definitely my favorite character of all time, and the love the "psi-crown" effect that they gave her in Wolverine and the X-men and that you gave her in the game.  I was really satisfied with this one, of all the versions of Emma that have been made; this one is my absolute favorite.  I was wondering, however, if there was a way to change her "psychic spheres" power so that as you put more points into it, its strength increases, but only one sphere is produced instead of multiple ones.

So noob question here:

I replace the New X-Men default with Blaw's BBTL skin, how will that affect the diamond form?

EDIT: Btw, the skin change that happens occurs when I use the Astonishing costume and go into Diamond form. Then when the fastball special is used on Wolverine, the skin changes into non-diamond New X-Men.

Blocking reverts it back to non-diamond Astonishing. But the Astonishing shift from diamond to human form has no issues.

Thank you. Yes it's possible to do just one sphere, open the talent file and search for the entry from that power, there must be a line dealing with the number of the spheres.

As I told you before I don't know why you have that problem with the Astonishing skin. If I'm right that skin is the XML2 variant (Short hair and a skirt) that skin was converted by Matt710 and I never had a problem with, does anyone else has a problem with the Astonishing/XML2 variant?
About the Blinded by the light skin by Blaw, if I'm right that skin is not hex edited, so the internal numbers doesn't match the ones used for Emma and her diamond form, so it's not compatible.
By the way I merged your last 2 post, because you cant double post here, its on the rules, next time use the edit button :)

Oops. Sorry about that. I'll be sure to take that into account going forward.

The Astonishing skin is actually the default from the mod file I downloaded from you. It's the one with the cape and long hair. As you can tell, I'm not great at skin switching.

I actually prefer the New X-Men one that Blaw did, but the outfit attributes are better with Astonishing, at least I think it is. I like the New X-Men for leveling since it has an XP boost, but for utter rampage, I go with Astonishing.

Weird, that skin was included in her original mod and as I know it works correctly with my mod too... well you can always replace the astonishing skin with the New X-men mesh by Blaw. Just copy the file (19803.igb) and rename it with the number from the Astonishing skin (check her herostat to see the number from that skin)

I found a tutorial that explains it to me on the Knowledge base forum. So I'll definitely try that.

Also on another forum, I saw that you asked someone [I forget who] about the Astonishing cape and how the arms and legs kind of seep through when Emma walks/runs. Did that ever get resolved?
Title: Re: Whiteking's mods UPDATED - Emma Frost 2.0 & NPC Jean Grey

No, that problem with the cape is because the model itself not by a code or something in the game, so it can't be fixed.

Hmmm I did one for my "on progress" Emma Frost mod for XML2, but the diamond form is not compatible with my MUA mod:

I'm trying a couple of things that Gevth posted on Deedoo's workbench, if works, I'll release this skin.

Wow.  That looks awesome. I especially enjoy the detail work on the X symbol. This costume looks great without the cape.

EDIT: So I uploaded BBTL skin which looks awesome. Shifted into diamond-mode, and it's New X-Men Diamond which is cool, since there isn't that much disparity between the two skins. however, when I blocked and shifted back into human form, it turned Emma to Medusa. Is that the inherent glitch since BBTL isn't compatible with diamond? Or is there a way I can adjust some setting so when I block, it's back to the BBTL skin?

FYI, I replaced BBTL as 19803, which is Blaws New X-Men.

Hi, have to say love the mod, is quite and can't wait for its conversation to XML2 if that still happening, got two things to ask though.

One. Seemingly same problem than the comment above,  the hud icon. I have a comic one instead of the one in the pictures, what do I have to edit to change it?
Two, I have the issue where Emma doesn't revert to her normal skin after I deactivate the diamond form, how do I fix this? I read it's a skin replacing from previous comment, but which number is the one that's got to be replaced and which is the specifict one that I got to download to fix it?

anyways, hope you can help me out, is still amazing to play her.

I found the solution for the hud icon. Go to the hud file in marvel ultimate alliance, rename hud_head_19803_alternate.igb in hud_head_19803.igb.
You have to confirm the replacement and it's done, you have the new icon.

Hey bud, been gone a while but came across this.  I just wanted to say that it's pretty good work.  It looks like a lot of ideas from this came straight from my playbook :rofl:  I took a lot of ideas from Wolverine and the X-Men as well, and had some effects similar to the ones in the mod (the fancy bolts above her head for example).  I also used Emma's voice from the show for her mod, though I'm not sure if she has sounds or what you gave her *shrug*.  Well done though indeed.

I don't remember Blizz doing an Emma Frost mod though?  Unless he converted one to MUA.  I know I did one a while ago for XML2 and thought I released one for MUA.  *shrug*  It's been like... 4 years since I joined though lol.  I have a hard time remembering who did what anymore.  Anyway, just wanted to comment on it.

Hey friend!
It's a huge compliment because most of this was in fact inspired by you and your work in progress when you left the forum long time ago. As you remember (or maybe not lol) I was starting to mod, so when your projects, including Emma's mod, were put on progress  I decided to make my own taking some ideas from the show and improving the existing ideas on her mod as well adding some new things like textures and skins.
I wanted to add the possession power from your mod in progress but I failed lol  so I'm still looking at that from you, and of course on the incredible models that you had on progress as well (any chance of the astonishing to be released soon?, sorry I had to ask lol ;))
Yeah, according to the XML1 conversion topic, Blizz made the conversion to MUA and later Matt710 updated the mod with other powers:
http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,155.0.html
I know that you made the first mod for both games unfortunately when I became a member of the forum you was inactive too and your mods were not available on the sites where you uploaded them.

Thank you! It's good to see you back :)

I respected the correct number for the basical skin and the diamond form in the powerstyle file, the diamond form works but when i want to turn back Emma changes into US agent.

I try to start a new game but it changes nothing, is there some file i have to edit ?

Thanks for your answer.

Are the Phoenix 5 skins you created compatible with this Emma Mod? Do I need to hex edit them so the Diamond Form power doesn't mess up? or just replace them in the herostat?

EDIT: I want to use Adventureiromax skins for this mod, do you happen to know if they're compatible with it? What skins do I need to rename in order to have both Human and Diamond accordingly?

i think your emma mod is the best one. her skill, her effects is incredible. And it's really fun playing her :) but she is too powerfull, when i use her diamond form no one can beat me. i hope you can make a nerf for her :P

18 months late on the response, but yeah I remember you.  The model may be finished and it may be released.  Better late than never I 'spose.  That possession power was a blast though, I'll have to release it some time as well.

Such a nice surprise! I really loved the mod and the powers that you gave to her, especially her possesion so if you decide to release it I would be more than ready to test her :)
Glad to know that the model is still on your list, looking forward for it ;)

I'm having some problems with the Emma Frost v2.0 mod:  I am unable to use standard melee(can still grab though,) cannot double jump, and i cannot use her 3 power(there may be more power issues, I haven't gotten to a high enough level to know.)

I haven't been adding mods to this game much, so I have no clue where the problem may be from.

In case it's relevant, I have tried both with and without the fix, and I found no difference.

When adding new characters, always start a new game.

Just wanted to drop by and say that this mod is amazing. One question though: How would I go about using Mjfan's awesome First Class Emma skins: http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,8078.0.html ?

Hey friends! I really love this mod but I am having difficulty with Emma. I am new to this but have modded in other characters with no problem. However, now it seems like Emma from your mod won't overwrite Emma from the OCP 2.4. Right now, it seems like her costume names have changed, she can't talk, she can't melee, and she has her OCP powers still. I was wondering if it has to deal with the herostat entry itself.

Thanks,
Isbatt
