Notes for Toxin v1.32: (January 16th, 2008 - present) :toxin:

Notes for Toxin v1.3: (January 5th, 2008 - January 16th, 2008) :toxin:
Toxin v1.3 has a new fightstyle, PS2 skins and models, and sounds.
Thanks Teancum for putting together the sound files and other members' discoveries in making custom sound/voice sets!!!

Known issues in 1.3:
The mannequin I uploaded for v1.3 was still the same old mannequin with the 2 triangles on the arms.

Notes for Toxin v1.2: (June 15th, 2007 - January 5th, 2008) :toxin:
Toxin 1.2 is an upgrade to cvc's Toxin 1.0. Therefore, the majority of work was done by cvc. Also, cvc took the time and effort in enlightening my understanding of the codes. I want to thank him for starting this Toxin mod because Toxin 1.0 is the groundwork for Toxin 1.2. No Toxin 1.0 means no Toxin 1.2, ok? (>.^)

What's new in Toxin 1.2 ?
+ 3 new skins (First Appearance, Patrick Mulligan, Carnage)
+ 3 new HUDs (one for each new skin)
+ 2 loading screens (one for Toxin, one for Carnage)
+ new icons set (Toxin based)
+ mannequin (First Appearance)
+ fixed the bug that reverts Symbiote Bullets to white when Spider-man is on the same team
+ renamed some of the powers
+ new Xtreme that can deal damages to any type of enemy (including bosses)
+ 3 new powers (Blade Ballet, Slash, Horror)
+ Symbiote Spikes now adds damages and speed to all attacks.
+ new walking and menu animations

Known issues in 1.2:
a) some powers do not have sound because I referenced them incorrectly. Sorry about this. There are also some sound that will never heard though referenced correctly. I am working on these issues now.

Thank you! I like that skin, too. Unfortunately, I see some small black patches in menu selection at certain angles. :( You are welcome! ^_^

No, I know most of you would not do those things, but I notice that many new "Guests" start to hang around alot lately. I just want to let them know that they can't share our stuff outside of this community without our permission. :) (I have seen our nextgen mod in torrents...! :laugh:)

Hello everybody, first post here!
First of all, you are all doing great. I've got this game yesterday on my pc and today i've downloaded almost all of this site (but tryed only a few :P).
I really love this Toxin mod, but I have a glitch: when I use the Blade Ballet, I get a red square around Toxin that keeps on moving around him... is this a glitch in Toxin mod or in my PC? I've never got something like this before in the game...

If all the rest of the game's effects work properly, then there is nothing wrong with your video options or your video card.  By looking at that effect, it looks like it may lack the alpha information to hide the rest of the texture.  This will be a problem with an effects file (or lack there of).  If you look at Ghostrider's head, you notice the fire on his head, right?  If you look even closer, you will see something like a transparent box rotating around his head.  You can see this with just about any fire in the game.  The model or plane that the texture is on is still there in game.  The alpha channel hides the rest of the texture, producing that transparent effect, so all you see is the fire (and the transparent box if you zoom in enough).  It just looks like the alpha information for that effect file may be missing, which is why it looks like you see a giant square.  That's my best guess.

everything else works fine, that is the only glitch I've ever encountered during the game (I'm almost at the end).
I did install the Quadmod pack, the one with Quicksilver, Venom & co., only to see Venom of course XD So I have the venom mod installed too... but I tried to remove it 'cause I'm waiting for the final release (waiting for the bulk one with the tongue :P). The problem is: The Thing now appears as Venom even if he has its original powers, but I don't think that this has to do something with my issue.

It's not your issue because the skins for Venom in the Quad-mod were numbered 05XX, which is the slot for Thing's skins.



Regarding the Blade Ballet issue, you can use this effect file as a substitute for now:

Put this file in:

Activision\Marvel - Ultimate Alliance\effects\char\toxin\

and overwrite the one in the folder. It's the un-editted copy of the effect for Blade Ballet, which doesn't have red smoke and stuff. Therefore, the red square should NOT appear.

Hello, I'm encountering a problem when I try and add Toxin to my game.  I've placed everything in the right file folder (I believe), and done everything else, but Toxin does not appear.  Instead, whichever character I designate as "XX" and give Toxin their number, there's just a blank space in the character selection with the name "DEFAULTMAN"...

I've tried to install Toxin three times, and I get the same thing...any tips?

You have to delete the whole character's herostat entry, not just change its menulocation number to XX.

ONLY if you have 27 heroes in your herostat.  If you have less, you can just change their menulocation to something random like "AA".

The only problem I've encountered in game so far is, like others have noted, that red box thing.  It only pops up for however long "Blade Ballet" is used, and then it dissapears (I took the substitute file you posted and overwrote the original toxin file with that one and the red box still appeared).

EDIT: so, now... It's not effects, could it be boltons?

Can anyone who has the red box try renaming the following 2 files in Activision\Marvel - Ultimate Alliance\models\bolton from:

clay_warrior_left_scimitar.igb to toxin_L_blade.igb
clay_warrior_right_scimitar.igb to toxin_R_blade.igb

and overwrite the original toxin_L_blade.igb and toxin_R_blade.igb?

The problem was discovered before I released that sound fix!

hmm... where does the red stuff come from if the effects and boltons are not an issue... @_@

I went back and uninstalled all the toxin files and put the originals back in place.  I then re-installed everything (including the fix that you gave earlier for the red box)...and it worked!  :)

I guess with all the back-ups I made I used an original file to overwrite another original file...whoops!

Can someone help me test this effect for "Blade Ballet"? I want to see whether you people have the red square. Since I have never been able to see that red squre myself, I need someone to test it for me... :(

Here's an update for Toxin that will give him his own voice and power sounds.

Instructions:

v1.3 is now uploaded, see the first page of this thread. This mod is now updated with sounds, PS2 skins, models, mannequin. It uses fightstyle wolverine now. I recommend you to replace all files from v1.2.

EDIT: Someone requested an XBOX-compatible version of this mod. I shall upload the files needed once I find the suitable boltons for Blade Ballet. :toxin:

2 little things to fix. The Policeman costume I included for both PC and XBOX/PS2 versions was screwed. @_@ The current version, v1.32, fixes this issue and I have updated the Calm costume for both versions as well. Sorry for the inconveniences.

One more thing I want to point out is XBOX/PS2 modders might need to download the wolverine_fightstyle as well. I believe there isn't an "Official characters" package for the XBOX/PS2.

Thanks, I have tweaked the model a little bit, a bit bulkier than that one. :D

I am going to try doing the bipeds (etc) again soon. I will let you know my progress ASAP. ^^

So, I really want to be able to use this mod.  It looks amazing.  However when I open the rar file, I get this error:

Try downloading again. Sometimes, unexpected end of archive meant there was some interruption during download.

No, I did.  Quite aware of it.  I kept trying to download the file from the MarvelMods mirror and it kept coming in at 749 kb.  I mean, I got the file from your OP, I love it, great work.  Just letting you know that something isn't right with the MarvelMods mirroring of the file.

Hey iammingy, great job on this one :D.
I have one problem though, when i try to do a light attack, the animation doesn't show. The enemies do get damage but i can't see how he hits them. I have tried reinstalling dozens of times, but the problem remains. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

i think this is the same problem people were having with some of the converted xml characters when they didnt have the new default combat (i think it was originally captain america's, then switched to thor's, or maybe the other way around). b0k if you don't have the Official character mod installed, you might want to install it, because i think it has this file in it.

Yes, you are right!
He can do the normal melee attacks as long as you install fightstyle_wolverine (which can be found on this first page) and start a fresh game.

What id, though, is I open the mod in J-Zip, and hold SHIFT and select all the folders in the part where it lists the folders (e.g. Actors, data) and copy them all and put them in my MUA directory. Maybe Iammingy put them in the wrong floders in his mod (no offense, Iammingy!). But, maybe it was my fault

Yes, deedooo is correct.
Since the mod doesn't have a simulator disc, you can only unlock his Carnage costume with the all costumes cheat.

From gamefaqs:
Press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Down, Enter at the character select screen or the main menu.

This is typical of installing a mod and then not starting a new game.  You MUST start a new game or newly installed mods won't work properly.
