Well I've loved the Character Colossus since I was 5 so it only makes sense that I would start my Skin and Mod releases with a Colossus Skin Pack.  The Pack includes an original Blue Variant to Colossus 's Original outfit, which is how I came to first know and love the character and is still my preferred look

And 2 Lineless versions of the the Silver and Blue Classic Costume Variants.  The lineless skins only work when advanced lighting is off, if turned on the lines will still reflect I"m guessing as part of the model even thought they are were removed from the skin. I really do like the armor plated lines a lot more than the smooth look made famous from Ultimate Colossus but I saw a  request for it a while back and they were pretty easy to make as half the work was already done from the previous skins.

Ah, well I guess that would explain it! Thanks BL...er..Marvintage and thanks everyone for the kind words.  Here's a little project that took me a little longer than I had anticipated lol (Damn you uncooperative belt buckle!) Since I'm already riding the 90's nostalgia train of my youth...Here's my try at adapting the 90's Iron Man Modular armor.  Saw the cartoon that made this prominent as well and while season 1 was pretty rubbish a lot of the time, season 2 really kicked some arse and made me appreciate the layered depths of Iron Man and Rhodey and felt less like it was trying to sell me 100 different Iron Man action figures!  Without further adu...

Awesome Iron Man skin :)

Ok next up we have the Wolfsbane Skin pack! These skins are from nodoubtjr's Wolfsbane wonderful mod from XML2 and that Credit 100% goes to

Graduation, Last New Mutant, Original X-Factor, New X-Factor, AOA, Turqoise and White, and  Turqoise and White partially morphed skins

Werewolf form, New Mutants, and X-Force skins.

All I've done here is convert the skins to an MUA format and colored in a sash or 2 that couldn't be in Hidden in XML2.  It also means that Rahne will be rocking a ponytail look on any skins based of of Kitty Pryde. These ponytails could be hidden in XML2 and really looked like her hair there but alas since that isn't the case for MUA I just try to imagine she just grew it out lol.

The Wolfsbane Mod created by NodoubtJr and converted admirably by Dihan is by far a Gem of a Mod though unfortunately the MUA version has a glitch where the game crashes everytime Rahne picks up a piece of equipment making fighting fighting boss battles with her all but impossible. If I get the chance or knowhow I'd love to try and fix that sometime!

That Wolfsbane pack is great.

And i'm also glad i'm not the only one who has that game crash glitch when it spawns gear after a boss fight. I thought i was going crazy for a while when that first happened lol.

These were the first skins I made and while they taught how to use the skinning/gimp tools I think they were also harder difficulty and most of the skins I've made since have seemed way easier since I haven't had to worry about the darn squiggle patterns!

As for the next skin, it looks like somebody else has been playing MVC3 because yes, it is indeed a Doctor Doom joke skin.  It was by far the easiest skin I've made so far but I love it and I think I'll wait just a little while longer to release it.  It's pretty priceless though and shows off a Different side to the many faces of Doom!

Fist off Big Thanks to Mj fan for letting me use his Abomination skin as a base for the head on my Hulk.  I ended up attaching Juggernaut muscles to the things body and was decently pleased with the effect there. 

Juggernaut was by far the hardest and really had to push on with him. Ended up going with a simpler design on him than intended but I saved myself some hair pulling otherwise lol.

Thing was my first and actually my favorite of the batch.  I tried skinning the tentacles portrayed in the picture onto him but they really didn't look very good so just settled with a big tentacle mouth eating out of his chest where his fantastic four symbol should be.  All in all I think he came out the best. 

Also sorry to say.....Asgardian Hammers sold separately!

Both of these characters were casualties of poor character treatment (looking at you Ultimatum!) So I thought I'd try to show my respect.  I'm not very impressed with my Ultimate Angel but maybe someone else will like it IDK

Okay so I just now reinstalled Wolfsbane into the game and tried 2 of your skins for her. The first one, although showing in the select screen and upon exiting...well, once you move her ( any movement has her use her wolfform in the mod) she mysteriously turns into this:

I tried another one and after moving her she turns into what looks like a black nick fury with the same guns...

Since the end result was different each time i changed the skin...could it be your skin? do you recognize the gunman?

I'm going to try the original skin to see if this problem persists, but is there anyway you could check that out?

EDITSorry, it seems that this happens with any costume outside of the original one from the mod, so I stand corrected. But perhaps someone could still let me know how this problem could be fixed?

I'm sorry, I was unaware of this particular conflict between the mod and the skins, I was only focused on converting the color palette of the skins and never checked to try them on the Mod itself. .  I will try and figure it out at some point as I really would like to make those skins a viable option for Rahne.

No problem Lionsden99 The fact that there even are any makes me hopeful ( not that you think i was being ungracious) I've heard it's a tricky affair when the mod changes skins. The only successful skin changing mod I have encountered where no problems occur is the Husk mod. In another post I am trying to get help modifying them, since I am playing the Wolfsbane mod at the moment. So if I do get some help, maybe i can correct all the skins and link them here?

One thing though, talking and trying to problem solve this is getting me more acquainted with skin making, so it is a plus i suppose :)

So hey gang! Took a little time off from posting but I've been cranking out skins in my free time like there's no tomorrow lol.  Find Skinning very relaxing while hanging with family or the TV is on.  Anyways I'll be releasing my biggest skinning project I've worked on so far (10 skins at this point and growing as I find more ideas) Very excited to release it then followed by the Sunspot MOD (WOW i'm dragging my feet on that) and then hopefully working on updating either Cannonball or Magik depending on how I'm feeling lol. 

But this is the release thread so I think a few skins are in order. First up I have a take on the Silver Samurai. Though Shaolin  is distinctively Chinese instead of the Japanese I found the Shaolin Monk matched up pretty well with what I was looking for minus Harad's pretty distict Helmet horn thingies...Haven't seen any of him floating around though I wouldn't be surprised if there was one hiding  around somewhere. I think having him set at a larger scale size  does a better job of A: Depicting his size and B: the Fact that he his wearing heavy armor. I'll start looking to see if there is a good model for his AoA variant.  Any ideas are gladly welcome.  Hope you enjoy!

Next up are a few Archangel Variants.  The work I did here was very Minimal, essentially swapping in Metal Wings and the head from excellently made Leather Archangel by Shafcrawler onto the original Archangel skin and the Blue Halo'ed costume (made by Matt710? Norrin Rad?? Not sure as the post doesn't specify clearly) All the credit in the world goes to those original creators and if anyone wants me to pull them down I of course will but I really liked these variants on Warren and thought someone else might as well. ENJOY!

The Blue outline I believe is the remnant of the XML2 cell shading on the Cape.  I'm afraid capes are a bit out of my scope at the moment. I had kind of liked it so I forgot to mention it and it only shows up in game and not on the menus.  Sorry about that!

But this is the release thread so I think a few skins are in order. First up I have a take on the Silver Samurai. Though Shaolin  is distinctively Chinese instead of the Japanese I found the Shaolin Monk matched up pretty well with what I was looking for minus Harad's pretty distict Helmet horn thingies...Haven't seen any of him floating around though I wouldn't be surprised if there was one hiding  around somewhere. I think having him set at a larger scale size  does a better job of A: Depicting his size and B: the Fact that he his wearing heavy armor. I'll start looking to see if there is a good model for his AoA variant.  Any ideas are gladly welcome.  Hope you enjoy!

Next up are a few Archangel Variants.  The work I did here was very Minimal, essentially swapping in Metal Wings and the head from excellently made Leather Archangel by Shafcrawler onto the original Archangel skin and the Blue Halo'ed costume (made by Matt710? Norrin Rad?? Not sure as the post doesn't specify clearly) All the credit in the world goes to those original creators and if anyone wants me to pull them down I of course will but I really liked these variants on Warren and thought someone else might as well. ENJOY!

I really tried to make the reflection look decent thanks! Though I do fear it ended up looking a tad more European knight metal in places at times.  His wolverine and the X-Men style has a different variation on the red chest symbol which repeats it across his back.  Maybe I'll attempt those issues I have if I get around to attempting that version of him.

Ok I'm pumped to finally unveil EXILE WEEK! For the next 7 days I'll be revealing 2-3 skins per day covering the main core Members of the Exiles initial run and then release the entire package together for download at the end of the week (saves me some leg work this way :P) The first 100 issues of Exiles are some of my favorite Marvel Stories. The Exiles travel from alternate universe to alternate universe fixing events that would end each world and the universe in general.  Each world is pretty much an example of a What if book...  The series has a lot of great ideas, memorable and touching characters,  surprising multitudes of interpretations of beloved Marvels characters and best of yet the Stakes are high throughout.  No Character is safe either since most characters are from non 616 realities and the the writers use this to add to the drama and keep you on edge.  I highly recommend giving it a read if you haven't  read it before, especially the 6 volume trade collection which is Beautiful!. Speaking of Beautiful... :blink: :blink: :blink: :blink:

First reveal of the week is the Leader and Main Stay of the Team......Blink! The Second skin reveal was inspired by a fanart I found on Deviant art.  This is the only Fanart costume I used for any of the Exiles and would have liked to have only used cannon costumes but I couldn't find any that weren't already excellently created by the community ages ago lol. Day 2 Mimic!

In His Reality, this Calvin chose to not turn his back to Xavier's offer of guidance and was able to achieve his true potential as not only as a Leader of the X-Men but as a Human Being. With the ability to Mimic up to 5 abilities at a time (though to a less powerful effect) He is as Blink put "a one man Wrecking Crew".  With wide assortment of overwhelmingly extreme opponents and dire tasks to complete, calvin never came off as too powerful a character.  Not an easy feat for one with the claws and healing factor or wolverine, half the strength of durability of Colossus, the optic Blasts of Cyclops, The Agility of beast in addition to the wings of Angel/Speed&Flight of Northstar later on.

Can't really recommend the Advanced lighting on the Human form as Colossus Metal Hide hide refuses to hid itself, almost like he's mid transformation lol.  Everything else looks pretty decent I think though lol

Thanks Everyone for the kind words! While making them I was hoping people would like how the skins turned out and it's been pretty positive so far!  I really loved the Exiles and New Mutants but so much of the New Mutants stuff has already been done I was really happy to see there was a lot of fertile ground to cover on the Exiles though!  Thanks DeeDoo that really means a lot.  I've really loved coming to this board over the years and it just feels good to finally contribute something I love back :) but anyways.......

DAY FIVE: T-Bird, In his reality John Proudstar not only survived his initial few missions with X-Men but was actually unwillingly recruited as a member of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen: WAR.  His Fiery Spirit helped him rebel against his master however and he rejoined his teammates....well before becoming unhinged from time where the title Exiles begins.

Humanoid T-Bird, well before he goes all scary super Sayian I can knock out the Hulk Form, Spoilers...in one reality he knocks out the Hulk in a 100% Clean Brawl. The Markings are a little different from the reference pic because the artist drawing him really liked to mess around with his markings/colors/designs every issue.  I tried for what he looked like most of the time.  Hope that came across.

Shaman Thunderbird: This reality Thunderbird made peace with his rage and learned the mystic arts as became this incarnation of Alpha Flights Shaman.  Him and T-Bird share a strong connection early on thus why I felt he was important enough to include. It's also a much darker orange/red in later panels like the one I used.  This was just the best full body pic with mask on.

Ok this one's not exiles but Outsider mentioned Uncanny X-Force.  So here is Warpaths X-Force look.  Unfortunately after finishing it I did a search and saw that Iammingy already made a stunning version of this skin using the same base and everything lol.  My skin has a few slight differnces so I'll probably release it since I spent the time on it, but there really wasn't a need for it as his is skin is really great!

Thnaks! So far mainly just the ps2 Skins.  Colossus/Mimic and Deadpool are the only ones who used the PC skins mainly because The Colossus Model is MUCH better for PC and deadpool just had a lot more detail.  I'll probably mess around with the PC skins more in the future though.

On to Day 6:

Remember how Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch were all Flirting with each other non-stop in Wolverine and the X-Men? Well apparently Exiles called that relationship years before! Wanda and Kurt gave birth to Talia who has the appearance and agility of her father with a mystic ability to Posses someones body.  She also can channel a bit of energy from the dimension her Father teleports through and release bursts of energy she calls Hex bolts. She also has a retractable tail (Which is demonstrated in pics lol)....where that tails goes....I don't even want to think about it!

So I knew Talia was going to be hard, I even debated not doing her.  As for the taking a chance on these skins I mentioned...so I kinda gender swapped the Nightcrawler Model. I think they came out surprisingly passable.  Nightrawler has such a lithe body and combined with his smaller size setting I think it looks pretty good.  If some people can only see it as Nightcrawler in Drag I won't be offended though so don't worry about it lol.

Really? I had no idea?  Well guess Cyclops being extra mopey with Jean's loss to go brotherhood actually makes a lot of sense then.  Heck Rogue already left the team once as well which also fits. Also makes sense with Scott and Xavier out of the Picture Nightcrawler and Wolverine would take up the official mantle (in that reality at least)  So apparently at the end of Wolverine and the X-Men the Phoenix is going to inhabit the lifeless body of Colossus?

I think you missed the "fightstyle_sunspot.xmlb" file. A "filestyle_sunspot.igb" is in "actors" folder, but sunspot don't have any punch or knockback, only do those while flying. And something is wrong with the animations. I re-installed the game and updates but still same result.

To add on to his comment, you have a "fightstyle" as an IGB like it should be. But for whatever reason he won't punch if he's on the ground. I haven't seen any other animation problems as from what i can see the powers work.

I completely forgot to add in the fightstyles folder to the data section with sunspot_fightsyle.xmlb and interact_sunspot_victim.xmlb.  I've taken down the old download and replaced the link with the new one!  With any luck this should fix the issue.  Please continue to let me know if you see anything else out of place and Thank you once again! The Lost Skins!

Hadn't posted anything in a good while so here's hopefully a step in changing that.  Now that summer hours are over I hope to start working on converting nodoubtjrs magik mod as it looks stellar but in mean time.......So back in may I had to factory reset my computer.  I saved almost everything through a time consuming process beforehand except for a few unreleased skins which I stupidly let fall through the cracks. So I not so proudly introduce Lionsdens lost skins! Maybe I'll remake a couple of them later if there is any demand but at the moment they are causalities of war.

First up, the first skin I ever worked on.  Based on XML1's Magama Pallete which is really awful to work with and almost made me give up skinning/modding.  A variant on a Dark Magma theme. Interesting but I never got around to releasing it for some reason.

Alternate Juggernaut: This one was pretty simple so it's likely that I'll come back to it at some point.  Made Juggernauts red a lot less dull and gave him a new expression/clean shave as I wasn't a fan of his standard models face.

Good looking skins, I really like that Juggernaut, feels like he's screaming "I'M THE JUGGERNAUT, BEACH!".
Because the F4 Symbol cannot be hidden as a segment, I like the way you covered it by placing a rocky texture over it. Sort of makes it look like a rocky version of chest hair ;P

As for the first time the Phoenix inhabited Colossus' body I give you the Phoenix of Nocturnes home world.  This Phoenix took over Colossus' body after he died yet still took on feminine form. This will be the first of several skins I release this week now that I'm back up and skinning again :)

Straight on the Symbiote head doesn't look the best but from the game's overhead perspective I think it looks pretty decent.  Hope you guys like this one too! Is it sad that I want to go just symbiote over a ton of random character models (Blob, Rhinoo, Jubilee lol) Any good ideas let me know.

I'm glad you're digging her! I didn't notice it before but you're right she does look older.  I never really had all that many gripes with her old Jim Lee Skin.  I'll have to load her up and compare.

I did Street Fighter loading screens for (so far) Blanka, Chun-Li, M. Bison, and the character I'll turn into a mod in the future - Akuma.
Imagine that - Street Fighter characters in MUA... that's a "Marvel vs. Capcom" no one would expect.

Nice! I like the detail. Yeah, it does look like the MvC3 skins can be converted. I recall someone converting Jean Grey's skin as well. If someone is willing to do that with Akuma, Chun-Li (and perhaps Shuma-Gorath since I did his mod already), that would be awesome. M.Bison isn't in that game, but he would be a great mod as well.

MaskLess Jim Lee Wolverine!

I re-used most of TomatoisJp's Classic Wolverine and merged it with the Ultimate skin to create a Maskless Wolverine.  tomatoisJP did a FANTASTIC job on his skin and is still one of my favorite wolverine Skins in the game to use.  Hopefully he won't mind me giving it a variant but I will gladly pull it down if he ever returns and asks me to.

Yeah I thought about using that initially but I didn't like the pants leggins on it.  This way he's still ready for combat in boots as opposed to sneakers.  It's no where close to Jim Lee acuarate but I like to consider it a mish-mash of his styles. Else worlds tale wolvie maybe?

Yep, I ripped it using NRskinner, shrank it and then merged it onto a a different model. Trimming or extending where necessary.

For those not in the know Rogue did have a bigger role & costume (or internment uniform..not sure) in the movie which was cut for pacing issues. Look for the deleted scenes on the Bluray DvD.  You can see her on the left of the group photo.

Thanks for the compliments. I really was hoping to do well on these. As for Mystique I read up on your mod.  Sounds fantastic.  Look forward to trying her out. I'll probably pass on a Mystique DoFP skin since she basically looks the same in every movie (minus her outfit in first class). Maybe I could work around a sexy camo- blue skinned theme for when she's in Vietnam?  Chun Li is definitely enticing.  Using Blink never even crossed my mind.  She's a good fit though there isn't anyway to remove her arrow pouch however.

Thanks much! I actually ended up using ultimate Nick Fury's face for the the base for his face since Ultimate Nick Fury was based on Sam Jackson. This way it's not only Sam Jackson's voice that represents Frozone but his mug as well. Other than that really minimal work to Iceman was needed.  I left 60% of his Blue ice skin untouched since it matched so well.  Can't think of a single skin I've been able to cut that kind of corner on lol.

Sunspot triple pack!  Human and Sunspot Form Days of Future Past skins and 1 skin Roberto briefly wore in Young X-Men.  The Days of Future past skins go really well together especially over Human torch.  Switching between the two forms looks very natural or would look very natural but Unfortunately because I tried my hand miserably at hex-editing them to swap nicely together I just  get quicksilver standing there after every move. Too frustrated.  Decided to just release them. if someone better than I wanted to take a crack at combining em' be my guest.  I've hexed edited before but this was just frustrating lol!  Hope you guys enjoy.

SWEET Days of Future Past skins. I just have a little suggestion for Quicksilver. You couldn't have found a better model (AOA Gambit fits perfectly!), but I think the glasses are a little off. Perhaps without them he'd look better.

So there is a Mod that was released in July. He only has 1 skin and this saddened me for him.  So I was inspired to give him some love. 2 new skins are finished for him and I should finish the 3rd soon.  One of the Skins I made for him is a Mech suit.  Can anybody guess who he is?

Also glad you guys liked the Beast skin! He was a pretty easy convert from the Grizzly though I used a lot of textures for the beast face and fur from his astonishing cat beast skin that was made a long time ago by somebody.  Full credit to that person I just couldn't figure out who it was.

Really like snowbird!

Nice job on Alpha Flight, L-99. I particularly like Snowbird. I created loading screens for those three and other Alpha Flight members at the Creation Station, in case mods were ever created for them. Hopefully, you'll consider Omega Sentinel, Satana, Dormammu, or maybe even M. Bison in the future (they're on my list for future mods), but that's up to you. Anyway, keep up the impressive work.

Alright skins for some of the other Alpha Flighters. Good step forward for them.

Been skinning a lot lately for an alternate reality of many of marvels original stalwarts that surprisingly hasn't been tapped much at all yet (besides one skin in MUA that is) It's odd but I'm looking forward to seeing people reaction to it. 

In the Meantime, I noticed Deathbirds mod (which is fantastic BTW) was lacking a couple of skins so after messing with Snowbird/deathbird I decided to make a few offshoots.

Great idea! Loved Thor's skin. It looks somewhat funny around the beard, but I guess it's due to the model. For Magneto, maybe Vision's model would work better (doesn't have the spikes in the arms).

If you later try to do Captain America, Ka-Zar is the perfect model.

Glad you like them.  You know for some reason I thought vision's cape was stuck as yellow so I didn't attempt it but yeah it's clearly there and able to be modded.  Oh well too late now unfortunately.  At least I know for later.

As For Kazaar, that models going to be getting some serious use here, as he's already the model for that 1602 Daredevil and he would make the perfect base as you said for 1602 Cap and in addition 1602 Cyclops as well.

I dig those skins. :fro: And you're planning some more skins for my mod of Clea? I gotta say, you're definitely helping my mods to be more complete. Thanks for that.

So I Decided to make a few extra skins for Outsider's fantastic Dormammu mod. He nailed his Modern look (mvc3 style) so well that I yoinked the facial features and belt and remade the skin with his Classic and first appearance designs. And Finally Demonic: Like how this came out with advanced lighting so I took a couple extra sceenshots. If while looking at it you get a sense of Deja vu that's because I plugged the skin into an automated-color scheme of the Magma form XML1 Skin which did a good chunk of the work.  Hope you guys like it!

Glad you guys are liking the Sentinels.  Realized apon closer inspection that they are a bit sloppy in a couple of places but oh well....new projects awaited.

As for the DOFP Wolverine, I'll get around to him soon. Already have DOFP Bishop finished which I"ll want to release as a group.  Probably when the DOFP special edition Bluray comes out later this year I'll get worked up about making more like Storm, Old Magneto, ect.
