Here's Maria Hill from the Avengers Movie...Are they leading up to a Civil War story arc?

Im assuming she just either has a quick cameo, or she represents the more stricter side of Shield, glad they didn't totally mess up her costume

Civil war..That would be crazy, considering they'll put to much characters in one movie that have never been seen before, making it hard for non marvel readers to memorize them all, not to mention the budget..

Here's another Avengers trailer. This time it's the japanese version but the main exciting part is there's new footage. There's a bit better of a view of the aliens riding on their space-ship thingies (that's a technical term, by the way) some more Loki, Mariah Hill and Pepper Pots. Also Hawkeye gets an on-screen line and we get a nice view of the Helicarrier

oh yeah, I had seen that one. don't understand yet how or why Thor changes costume in the movie. strange thing is that it seems he starts with the new one and then uses the one from his movie later. who do you guys think is gonna be the alien race invading?

I'm guessing Kree because
1) It's going to be a fairly mainstream alien race from the comics
2) Those kinds of attacks seem to be their style, and furthermore it cant' be the Skrulls because for their first appearence the advertisements would introduce them in a more "secret invasion" type way
3) Shi'ar are more X-Men territory and therefore not as familiar to classic Avengers purists

can't be the skrulls because they are part of the FF franchise and their film rights belong to fox for the time being. I was thinking maybe the chitauri (ultimate skrulls) that had a lot to do with the founding of the Ultimates and much of this movie is based more on the ultiverse than anything else, such as Nick Fury's involvement, Hawkeye uniform and as a shield agent, black widow founding member, cap's uniform, shield finding cap on ice and starting the whole avengers thing, hulk being a main character and so on. in the 616 he was there to start the team, left the 2 issues later and never came back.

This is a Marvel movie, so practically it can be any existing race from the comics. Or even an entirely new one. Who could know?

I'm thinking about the Badoon. In the comics they have a minor empire when compared to the skrulls, krees and shi'ar, but a very powerful force that is the closest empire to earth.

First of all, why in hellsname would they work for Loki? Second of all, it kinda sounds stupid sort of like an yes-we-did-want-the-skrulls-but-thought-they-were-to-cool-to-appear-on-screen sort of answer

the skrulls can't be used cause they are part of the Fantastic Four filming rights pack that belongs to Fox for the time being. They mixed the origin of the Ultimates (that were formed to fight a Chitauri invasion) with the Avengers' (that were formed to fight the threat of Loki).

Why would they work for Loki? That's probably where the Cosmic Cube enters.

Also news of a powerful figure controling the alien army that is shown at the very end, maybe post credit. My bet would be on Thanos.

Still, it sounds so avoidable, then atleast the Kree, but no, they had to use the Chitauri
