This came from someone I know, and He was right when he provided me with info on MUA1 (e.g he told me that Iceman would be playable way before his reaveal)

This would be awesome if true but with my choice Psylocke and Cyclops would replace Fury (why is he playable again??) and Iceman (I like him, I really do but there is no more room), and Penance with Dr Strange (we need some magical character).

For the Thunderbolts, Moonstone is my favorite, so I would like to see her in the game.
And for the polls the winners were Emma Frost and Rogue, there was a third poll but I don't remember who win that.

I think Angel or She-Hulk won the polls too. All three or four are probably DLC. I also like Bullseye and Moonstone instead of Penance but not being a fan of the Thunderbolts I hope they just count Iron Man for he did infiltrate the team once disguised.

I would like all four as DLC. They would be great. Only She-Hulk however is really a nessecity for me to be in the game. I have a big feeling that Angel will be in as DLC.

Yeah. I'm beginning to believe this a little bit. If Iceman is confirmed then it'll pretty much be true. I personally really want Iceman in. I'm just disappointed Hawkeye isn't on that list.
I cannot completely hope it is true cuz I wanted Cyke and Fury should be replaced with either Wanda, Spider-Woman, or Wasp.

Considering he and the New Warriors were integral in the passing of the SHRA. I think it would be weird to have a Civil War based game without him.
That doesn't mean he has to be playable. He could be an NPC or even a boss.
Since Jean 'died' in MUA 1 and the ending said she'd be back she'll probably be a boss in this game

But like I have said once before the story is a What If? so it doesn't matter that she was dead during the time. And Jean is a very popular and well-known character thanks to comics, movies, video games, and even novels and as the makers of the game wanted fan favs she had a very good chance to be in.
The game is based on the Civil War storyline; it's not an exact take on it (kind of like XML2 is a mixture of AOA, Ultimate, and The Twelve storylines). So I find all the "that didn't happen in the Civil War" or "they were dead, gone, a clone" stuff kind of pointless. It is its own world so they could even change what starts the whole thing or the characters involved. So I don't think anyone is guaranteed to be in or out.
I don't know much about Penance and how his powers work now, I haven't read anything he's been in, but as long as he has his Speedball costume as an alternate I'll be happy.

I know I hate when people do that just because they don't like Jean and they say she can't be in cause she was dead. I mean they never say anything about characters like Gambit, Hulk, and Thor but when Jean makes it in they throw a big fit.

Jean is overrated?? maybe yes, maybe not, it depends of which side of the coin you are looking... the thing is that she is an awesome character (when she has a great writer behind her) but the problem is, that I think that most of the actual writers in the X-men series, don't know how to include her in their story arcs.
Take Uncanny X-men, most of us though that she was going to return in the Sisterhood arc, and what we have??? Nothing! Jean still dead, perhaps they think she should stay dead at least for a while, I don't know...
If she return, I would be happy, because she's a good character, but I doubt that her return to the mainstream (in comics) will be soon...

I guess you don't read the most recent comics of X-men, because if you did, you will find that Emma is a totally different character from Jean.
The only thing that unites them is the psionic powers they have and Scott Summers, nothing more. As Jean, Emma can be a great character with an amazing personality when genious as Grant Morrison and Joss Whedon are behind her, but when you have a mediocre "writer" as Matt Fraction, you only have a blonde woman with big boobs (you don't know how much I hate him for that)
But, since she's so interesting to write, that most of the writers of marvel, still include her in most of their stories and comics and she's still is a strong and important character in the Xmen and The Marvel universe.

The thing I don't like about Jean is that she's just too powerful to keep alive. To avoid a big deus ex machina they have to kill her off. She's more of a liability to have alive.
I dunno, I still don't find Emma interesting in the least. Not as a member of the Hellfire club, not as Jean's replacement for Cyclops, not as an X-Man. And if we want to talk writing and creativity I'd say it's never been any better than when Jim Lee was around. Since then it's been ho-hum, at least on the X-Men front.

I know, it's always nice to have someone who have a different opinion, It just that the comparisons between both women are (to me) like: "Oh, please that was so old, Emma replacing Jean? Come on!"
Jim Lee is a classic, he has good things and bad things as everything, and he create a great product... long time ago, I'm talking about the recent years of the xmen, when (I feel)many of the main characters get differences that makes them more unique.
Emma and Jean are my exmples for that, I always thought that Jean was so boring and weak, always claiming help, always between the shadow of Cyclops and Xavier, until New X-men when (I feel)she become stronger and confident of what she is. Same with Emma.

I have enjoyed the 90s better. I have been buying many 90s issues and most are interesting. I have to say that I kind of wished that Jean could be turned into a teenager who does what she wants when she returns by some evil villain. Her selfish side is shown and she isn't selfless cause I want to see what she might do if for once she was selfish. Scott would feel bad since Jean doesn't know how to use her powers and her family is dead so he gets back together with her. She gets kidnapped and killed as she is vulnerable while young but only her young and selfish side is killed. Her normal adult and selfless side is still alive and she returns an issue (or maybe in the same issue that she is killed) and Scott who has learned to love her again picks her and afterwards he finds out that Jean telepathically changed his mind so he would choice Emma instead of Jean when Jean died from Magneto's hands. Then the couple live happily ever after.

Same powers as Speedball, the only difference is now, is that he can only focus those powers when he is in pain.

She's only over the top when the Phoenix is involved. I hope when they bring her back she's Phoenix less and at the same power level she was before the Phoenix starting showing itself again. She was great and powerful during her time in X-Factor and 90s Jean, and she didnt need the Phoenix to be interesting. I doubt that will happen now that Jean and Phoenix are one. It was their destiny to be one being and the Phoenix's powers are rightfully hers. Maybe something like she can only use the White Phoenix powers in the White Hot Room. Be cool if the White Phoenix costume becomes her regular costume when she comes back though.
No not really the Phoenix is a seperate entity and always has been it just merged with Jean just as it had been doing with countless other telepaths before her. And now that Jean is dead, I see no reason for the phoenix to be present if they ressurect her. Thats long gone. I used to like Jean a lot but all this Phoenix nonsence really puts me off her. The writers need to leave that dead and buried story saga alone. Then people will start to like her again. As for being in the game I wouldn't mind seeing her there but something tells me she'll be very similar to Invisible Woman so I'd rather see pyslocke
As for the top telepath to go in to the new MUA. Emma gets my vote not only is hot favouite but she actually has some relevance to the storyline. She such a great character. Generation X was my favourite comic book and largely due to her Synch & Chamber. She's come a long way and has done an awful lot as co leader of the x-men.
And Emma and Jean are nothing alike two totally different personalities. The only thing they have in common is that they're both powerful telepaths who have been linked to Cyclops. Apart from that theres nothing at all alike about them.
I think she will be made differentally than IW. I also find that Emma having simply told Ms. Marvel and Iron Man that the X-Men will be neutral is nothing important. Replace her with Jean, Storm, or Wolvie and nothing major changes. And the Phoenix hasn't merged with anyone besides Jean as they were always meant to be one being. Not only is that Jean's destiny but also the Phoenix's. For the rest of their life they will be one as they are technically the rulers of the Phoenix hosts.
Who told you that? I don't think you know your comic history. The Phoenox has been merging with humns for generations and generations. It favours telepaths though. The first person to merge with the Phoenix was Feron. And he used its powers to protect the Excaliber light house tower. Rachel Summers also had the Phoenix power for a few years and so did Madelyn Pryor. Kid Omega also was possessed by the phoenix force and he tryed to use its power to ressurect his dead wife. The phoenix force also merged with a stepford Cuckoo and Emma Frost has also wielded the power of the Phoenix. So don't be thinking that Jean is special because she isn't. I'm sure theres countless others it has merged with but thats all I remember. The Phoenix and Jean are not destined to be together.
Anyway back on track, Emma is the co-leader of the X-men and although she and the x-men chose to remain neutral she certainly was involved ans wasn't dead which is what Jean was.

I'm afraid you don't know your history. The Phoenix was in Maddie but she never harnessed it's powers. Also Kid Omega wasn't married ever. He wanted to resurrect the dead Cuckoo Sophie as he had a crush on her. And in Classic X-Men either the issue where Jean dies or her funeral there is a backstory and Death tells Jean that she is the proper owner of the Phoenix's powers. The Phoenix has only became one with Jean. No one else. Others have been the host but never merged. The Phoenix first took part of Jean's pysche making it believe it was Jean. It got corrupted but the part of Jean inside Phoenix convinced it to commit suicide. Jean later wore the costume of Phoenix and in Morrison's run she regained her tk as well as started manifesting the Phoenix. In endsong Jean and the Phoenix became one as this was their destiny. They are know White Phoenix the highest state any Phoenix person can be so she is like technically a queen now of all Phoenix hosts. So no one else no not even Rachel has merged with Phoenix. Only host not merged. Jean is merged now though as that is their destiny. Jean and Phoenix's destiny. Till the end of time they will be one being. This is in Endsong, Here Comes Tommorrow, and that Classic X-Men issue. Remember not merging with others. Others are only the Phoenix host. Now Jean and Phoenix are one being. And it will always be like that.

Host and merged. To me there was no difference but I understand what yuour getting at now. But i maintain if she is going to be in the game at all, I'd prefer her to have no Phoenix powers at all. Personally I can't stand the whole Phoenix thing and I have a feeling this is why a lot of x-fans despise her too. I don't mind her as Jean but when i hear the words 'Phoenix' it just makes me roll my eyes. Like I said before, there is no reason why all three pictured in your avaiater won't make the game. Well if this is the last MUA game they'll probably pull out all the stops. So we might find ourselves presently surprised with the amount of DLC characters. And if Activision are paying attention to the game boards then they'll see that Emma, Jean and Betsy are the obvious character favourites. Man I'm so glad I own an X-Box360

They didn't say that but somebody mentioned it on the MUA2 board. I hope it isn't though but I reckon it will be. Lets just hope they don't release an upgrade of the game like they did for the first one. I had to buy it twice. First the original then I bought the gold version so i could play the extra eight characters. Hopefully they won't do anything like that for this one. I'd rather have all the goodies at once and no console exclusives.
I've just noticed also that in the picture on the official MUA2 board Invisible Woman appears o be flying or balancing in mid-air. Did anyone else see that?
They originally said she wouldn't,but I think that was called untrue later. Her flying in the mural gives hope she can fly.They wouldn't tease us like that. Or I hope not.

I'm guessing Iceman is in. If so hopefully then Fury is only a XBOX 360 and PS3 exclusive (or switch him out with Psylocke and Cyclops and Fury becomes WII and PS2 exclusive and we get a good X character) then I may still get Spider-Woman or Dr. Strange.

I really don't want Nick Fury as a playable character. It's a space that another character who is funner to play as could use. I understand that he's everywhere in the Marvel Universe but make him an important NPC.

Well, Phillip's friend told him the complete roster (and I, like most people, have to agree that he was right). Also, VV said that they won't reveal the last character, at least until after the game comes out. From this list, the only one who hasn't been unofficially confirmed yet is Nick Fury. We're still waiting for official confirmations for Ms. Marvel and Iceman, though, but there is evidence these characters will be playable.
But, what happens if the last character, the one they don't want to reveal, is actually someone who would stir the ambient? I mean, if I made the game, and tried to keep one character as a secret until players found it on their own, I wouldn't have him be a returning character, but rather, a character either nobody expected, or better yet, one that most people wanted, but that they weren't sure it would be in the game....
But certainly, if it was such a character, a lot of people involved in the game would want to tell someone (like Phillip's friend) about it, out of excitement, most likely. So, how do you avoid getting such leaks? Have a very small team work on him. But it still needs testing, and bug-checking, and anything else that could provoke undesired people to notice it.
In that case, I'd put a decoy character who uses a similar powerset. By now, I hope you all know it occurred to me that the last character, the one who won't be revealed, is Punisher, and he'll be taking the place of Nick Fury in this roster list.
Well, this is definitely some wild speculation, but I really don't see them saving Ms. Marvel, Iceman or Nick Fury, when they could've saved Gambit or Jean Grey, both characters that happen to have a really big and loud fanbase. In fact, if the last character isn't Punisher, Magneto or Dr. Doom, I can't see a reason to keep him a secret until the game's released.
Phillip, could you ask your friend if such a thing could be possible?

It sounds like something they would do Gevth or it could also be someone like Nova or the Silver Surfer so there is a Galactus tie in to re-unite the heroes.

Doom takes Apocalypse's power and Galactus' then goes and re-takes Odin's and is no-match for one side of heroes to fight so they re-unite under Nick Fury and in the end Phoenix (Jean Grey) with help from Silver Surfer releases the phoenix and vanishes with Doom into another world (dimension) and spends his immortal life there. What about that!
They will make them come together in the end for sequal and will say something really corny like "Why are we fighting we know not to do that" and unlike in the civil-war they'll make Ironman and Captain America come ask each other we need to take down S.H.I.E.L.D and in the end like in X-Men Legends II: Rise Of Apocalypse they'll have a villian watching over them laughing very, very scary. That could be Doom with Odin's and Apocalypse's and Galactus' powers and that's who you will fight in the sequal?

Back to where I was before I wandered off into my own land, they make the heroes all team up under the command of Cap and Ironman and will take down S.H.I.E.L.D and Nick Fury will call onto a Odin for Doom's release and then Doom will come back to earth and you'll have to fight him again no wait that's lame isn't it? Nick Fury will call on the Brotherhood of evil mutants no that's even lamer wait the heroes and villians still with S.H.I.E.L.D you'll fight against like Cloak and Dagger or Silver Surfer or Magneto or some-one really powerful?
Who else could they have? Galactus? Apocalypse? Or even some-one new like Dark Phoenix or Spider-Carnage no they're to weak who could be else they have?

Ms Marvel fills the niche of super strong female quite nicely without being stuck in melee all the time. I'm still hoping that Hawkeye is in. I see no reason why he shouldn't be in.

Jean Grey has been said by one of the guys working for MUA2 at Comiccon to be resurrected by collecting some crystals which I read on HeroHQ are the same ones Galactus was using in the first. So this could further add to what I said and have Jean(Oh no :( ) be the one the need to destroy the major boss in the game.

Ms. Marvel was Iron Man's second in command during the Civil War, i know this game isn't exactly following continuity, but one would think that a chacter that was a major player like Carol would HAVE to be in it, right?

There is hope for Nick Fury not being playable yet. Last time it was said cable would be the last character(in XML2) and he was revealed as PSP exclusive, so there is still hope :P

I'm sorry to be cynical about it but I really don't believe the pic. How come the promo box art for the other systems don't have the exclusive characters on them so why would the Wii have them? Plus you can see many differences between the left panel and the other two. The biggest being the quality of the image and colors. Sorry but it's an impostor as far as I'm concerned. I just find it hard to believe that such a big character like Cyclops would be an exclusive for the Wii when games like MUA sell more for 360 and PS3. I'll wait for official word, til then it's fake to me sorry.
They are only exclusives for WII and PS2 which is why cover is different. I also doubt they could replace Iron Fist with Storm and make it look real so I do think it is real.
