Title: how do you unlock skins in smsd?

Can someone please tell me how to unlock and change skins WITHOUT CHEAT CODES? I've tried almost everything but every time nothing shows up in the costume section. please help.

You find all of the costumes in the character upgrades. You have to complete challenges in-game to unlock sections where the costumes is. Then you have to buy it with the spider essence you obtain in-game.
