Wikipedia doesn't give me much information, and I'd like to know what this actually contains, what effects the game has been enhanced.
There's no info anywhere that I could find, but Gamestop shows the release date as 8/17/07. *IF* they use the DLC characters it'll be really easy to port them. :P
I'm praying they've put all the DLC characters in (with all the goodies like the sounds, since it's possible to decode PS2 sounds). I'm hoping they at least leave some DLC stuff in assetsfb.wad as easter eggs, but I'm expecting it'll be Colossus, Moon Knight, the next-gen missions and maybe 1-2 characters. **Prays for Hawkeye so he can be on the Xbox mod**
Yeah me too. Can hardly wait! Hopefully they'll add Captain Marvel and the exclusives there, because the PSP graphics are crap.
Yeah my *guess* is that they'll do the next-gen characters, 1-2 PSPers and 1-4 360 characters. Why? So people who already own it on PSP and 360 will still want to buy it. Companies are very smart that way.
If it happens that way, I'm betting on:
Colossus
Moon Knight
Hawkeye
Captain Marvel
Hulk
Venom
Magneto
It would be cool to have "official" skins, models, and stuff! ^^
Maybe even a riser model :wiggle:
I'm betting on half of what you said Teancum:
the next-gen.
Hawkeye
Capt. Marvel
And four of the most popular in the DLC.
Well, I'd like if it were just the heroes, which means 360's hero-pack, next-gen and the psp ones
-> 9 characters total.
Not bad either, but I love using Magneto, Venom, and surprisingly Doom.
Of course, they could take the cheap way out too. All the files are already there to add the Next-Gen sim missions, Colossus and Moon Knight. All they'd have to do is change the herostat and simulator engbs and bingo, Enhanced Greatest Hits. But people will be majorly pissed if they do.
People like me. I'd be expecting more out of this, and the value better be worth my money.

Well, people outside of the modding community don't realize how easy it would be or how close to completion those characters were for all of the platforms. It's easy for us to say just add the herostat definition, but I'm sure the regular population of console gamers had no idea the files were even there. *shrugs* Still, I would like for the DLC stuff to be there. Mostly for the character models. Everything else has been a go. (It would be even better if the crap was released for the PC... if nothing else, for the extra slots)
Yeah, but if it ain't a strategy/FPS/RPG game it ain't gonna get any 'company love' on PC.
The biggest reason I doubt it'll get the DLC characters is that they're really high-poly. You can see it in the screens. But if they have a low-poly version then maybe we'll get lucky.
Says it's now available at gamestop.com. Gotta pay 19.99 plus shipping though.
OK! I'm getting it rite now!

If it is true, we'll have our mannequins.......
yeah, that would be awesome if this is true,
if it is true, its wierd how doom wasnt unlocked at the start though (unlike the 360 version)
It makes more sense to have Doom unlock after beating the game. I'm going to be hunting around the local Gamestops to buy one. If there's one, I will purchase, rip, and share :D
Okay, so no Gamestop stores had it (looked on my lunch break), but it's in their system. I'll probably pick it up Monday.
Well, I went to Wal-Mart to see if they had a copy today. Needless to say, it didn't turn out so well. Mainly because I got into a car accident on the way there. As I was driving on the in town highway, a car ran a stop sign to cut across the highway, and I couldn't stop in time. Being that it wasn't my fault at all, I'm not too worried. However, my front end is pretty fucked up. However, after the report and everything was filed, I made it to Wal-Mart (because I was only a block away, and my car was still drivable, even with a retarded looking front end), only to find they don't have it either, and have no idea when they will get it in. To make up for the crappy day, I picked up a copy of Madden 08.
Gas to get to Wal-Mart: $1.85
Repair costs for car accident: $1,895.00 (just an estimate)
Getting bent over by your insurance company, but still making it to Wal-Mart to find out they don't have the Greatest Hits MUA, but still making off with a copy of Madden 08: Priceless
For everything else, there's a .50 cal.
Wow, that's unlucky.
well the person that said they had it was lying (the one that blizz gave the link for):
QuoteI'm sorry. I really don't have this. I wanted to see the reaction since people were getting so crazy about the version. I have to say, less people were skeptic than I expected. I didn't mean to mess anyone about. Just a little experiment. I hope we do get this soon, and it does have everything people are asking for.
Well, I'm getting it the moment it hits the shelves.
People at the gamefaqs.com board (as well as in marvel.com boards, link below) are now claiming that the enhanced version just has a bonus DVD showing the process of making the game. So don't even think of buying it in case this information turns out to be true (unless you really want to watch that thing).

All I know is I never totally believe anything that is said at gamefaqs. I always hope for the best, but I've seen people mess with others time and again. Seriously, I've seen that like 5 or 6 times now. Still, we can hope.
My favorite part is that I ordered it online--with one-day shipping--shortly before it was revealed to only contain a bonus DVD.
That's just swell.
If it ONLY contains a bonus DVD, then damn am I gonna be pissed.
Wow, looks like Activision really screwed a lot of people with this deceptive marketing tactic. I wonder how many people rebought the game thinking they were getting "enhanced content". I knew something was fishy when there was no information about the details of this "enhanced version". An interesting tactic though, you have to wonder how many fell for this and how much money Activision ended up making.
Yeah, it's very fortunate that I couldn't find it in Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or Gamestop. :D

Wait, did Activision actually said something about the content? A far as I know, there was only speculation about the EGH, an anyone that bought it in advance is to blame for doing uninformed buyings. All I could find was that GameFAQs discussion wich was unofficial and a lie after all, acording to its own OP. So, no deception. Compulsive behavior, maybe.
Well, I suppose technically they where not lying since they didn't give any information about it. However, giving it a title "Enhanced Greatest Hits" implies new content. What is so enhanced about it? That it has a bonus disk that shows how the game was made? How is this enhanced? I think their marketing staff came up with a clever way to deceive people into rebuying or just buying if they haven't already this product.
I really was hoping to get some new PS2 material to work on, since it is so compatible with the PC version, but right now the ambiguety is on Activision's side. The "Enhanced" part doesn't even says it has to have more content, only better in any way. For example, bug fixes, higher res skins, speed problems or other stuff the PS2 was lacking, without any extra character, would be technically an enhacement. Video content would be an addition probably other sections of the public could enjoy, like collectors, game developers, people interested in production, an so on. Anyway, was the video content really confirmed by the developers or was it more forum news/rumour/speculation?
It's actually being released as a "Special Edition", not as an "Enhanced" version, apparently.
Regardless of Activision not releasing any of the information, Gamestop's official website solicited it as an Enhanced Version and listed "Team Vehicles" as one of the things available. While this doesn't suggest extra characters, it could technically be enough to accuse Gamestop, at least, of false advertising. Enough so to get a refund if you purchased the game online, perhaps.
Any news released comes from people that already own the game. Activision's still told us absolutely nothing.
I picked it up, hoping for some Easter Eggs on the disc or something new on the DVD. Yeah, waste.of.money. Not one thing new on the game disc, and a bunch of old footage/making ofs/trailers that had been released before.
So they got your money for your curiosity! ;)
Nah, I got a buddy who wants it, and I've only found one copy at one store thus far. Problem solved.
Dang... that was such a waste of time....
My (our) bubble of hope just popped... :(
Yeah that's a bummer. I'm gonna have a long talk with whoever came up with the name "Enhanced Greatest Hits".
Well, it wasn't Raven/Marvel/Activision. They all list it as Special Edition, which could pass as just the game and a bonus DVD.
