Title: PS2 Help!!! Please
Post by: PackerFan8459 on October 08, 2007, 07:05PM
I've already modded the game for PC and I've done some work on my PSP but now I want to try and mod my PS2 just for something to do, but I don't know how. I know I probably need to mod the system but do I do nething to the game itself. Can someone please help me (step-by-step instructions) mod my PS2. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

Modding a console's pretty hard...not sure it can be done for the PS2. You can mod the XBox. Teancum's working on an XBox Mod.

I'm in the process of making the Xbox mod compatable with the PS2.  Everything I know about modding for a console is found in the Knowledge Base section (look at the FB topic).

WOW, that is really great news!!!! :thumbsup2: I gotta tell my friends about it. :)

EDIT: So, is this gonna be released as "mods only" or "orginal version with mods already inserted"?? LOL. I apologize for my lack of knowledge in your XBOX mod.

This'll be a 'download this and insert it into your assetsfb.wad file'.  I'll post the actual PS2 wad file if the mods say it's cool (since we post ZSS files).  That way they just add it to the ISO and burn.

The mod is not out yet, and you'll need a modded PS2 and to already know how to burn new discs and move files, etc.  Installing mods like this isn't nearly as easy as on PC.

Depends on what version of the PS2 you have, if you have a Phat (old style version) PS2 console you can easily mod it by running some files through your MC and using ARMax cheats, which can be bought for 30-40 bucks at almost any game store.  You also need a harddrive, Maxtor seems to work really well w/ the PS2.

Basically you can get any PS1 game and correspond it w/ your system to tell it there is a 'genuine' disc in there.  Then there are certain files you can put on a memory card from using the ARMax to transfer it on there and it runs a launcher which allows you to run a program such as HDLoader or HDAdvance - I personally like HDLoader better.  And then you can load your PS2 backups on your harddrive (IDE) and add/delete games by connecting it to your PC and doing game modifications on there.

Any questions I'm sure I and Teancum could help point you in the right direction for information.

Just thought I'd bump this topic - since I'd really like to see some characters be playable in MUA that T has done for XBox :)  Send me any files you have have for the PS2 T, it'd be appreciated.

I need to do PS2 skins for characters, but sure.  I'll get you what I can asap.  Right now I'm installing a new drive in my PC and transferring all my old junk.
