Anyone following the roster of the new team of Avengers? Anyone else find it RE-HI-HI-LLY lame that we have Echo AND a new Ronin?
My Guesses for the final 3: Some combination of Cap, Falcon, Hawkeye, and Cage. Cage is, after all, Bendis' fav.
Offtopic: Penance IS Speedball. More than a few speculated just that, so it comes as no real surprise.

Echo AND a new Ronin? What's Bendis smoking? I want some of that too!
And the Penance issue... Yeah, I've been told already. On an unrelated note, Quesada let slip that the real Penance (the mutant with diamond-sharp skin that used to house M's mind) will be returning in the foreseeable future. Which is good, considering Generation X had the highest mortality rate of all the X-kids teams.
Well, looks like Cage is the leader. And this time he brought friends. :D

I know someone on that forum said it would be a snide comment, but I have to say it. Looks like the 'New Avengers' are the 'Street Avengers'. :P
One reveal to go.
And, drumroll.........
Spidey rounds out the team.

Curiously, I don't see Echo in that team picture.
Ronin is in the BG. Or you really want to grab onto the idea of separating Ronin and Echo?
I'm more intrigued by the presence of Iron Fist and Doc Strange.
Later this year Marvel will be starting a second avengers book called "The Mighty Avengers." Here is a link to some info about it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mighty_Avengers
Basically its Iron Man/Wasp/Sentry/Ms. Marvel/Ares/Black Widow. I dont think i'll be renewing new anvengers :/ Mighty Avengers is more of the kind of team you except when you think of the Avengers. New Avengers sounds more like a new Defenders to me. Doc Strange/Iron Fist just makes me think Defenders hehe.
But Strange/Heroes for Hire/Spider-Man/Echo make me think of Marvel Knights. Seems more like a team of Marvel Knights.

Ronin is coming to Bendisvers-- er-- Ultiverse!
Not sure if this is good, though.
Well, that makes 3 'Who is Ronin?' arcs. I wonder how many til Bendis is done :D
I dont like N.A
Well, New Avengers #27 is out. Shortlist? The contents of Ronin's comic mission!
It's Echo-Ronin vs. Elektra :D And the Hand. And the premiere of the new (and non-deaf at that!) Ronin who's a he and who claims he's not Matt :D Let's wait and see.
In the meantime, could anyone who's following the wonders of plot twists in other comic lines tell me just when eggsactly did Elektra become HEAD of the Hand? Last I saw of her, she got nooked in the head during Wolveroonie's overly lengthy brainwashing scandal even before HoM.
IIRC, Elektra took over The Hand during Wolvie's Agent of SHIELD arc (directly following his de-brainwashing), I thought. She was pretending to be brainwashed, then trashed their leadership and took over, I think. But since I don't follow daredevil or the like, I may be totally off on that and it may have happened elsewhere.
The most prevalent guess I've heard for the new Ronin, if it's not Matt, is that it's Mr. Castle, following his Civil War appearances. A lot of people think it's gonna be good ole Mr. Rogers, but he's supposed to be elsewhere in the MU around that time... :)
Wow, not at ALL a one trick pony, that Bendis.
Another "who cares who is Ronin?" arc.
More *yawns* ninjas.
Is there no beginning to Bendis' talents?
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the New Avengers. I feel they just put together some Marvels more popular characters and wrote a story about it :S Or maybe it's just my disliking toward Wolverine haha. In any case, I'm glad Echo is still around xD I like her.
Anyone else see the blurb on Yahoo about Cap's demise?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070307/ap_on_en_ot/captain_america
I thought that was absolute BS... I'm not a Captain fan, but to kill off an icon like that is just... wrong. And the way he got killed... A sniper? That's like Superman walking along and tripping into a puddle of kryptonite and dying. Very lame.
We'll have to see how they play it out. They can't kill an icon like that. I haven't been reading lately since I only visit my comic shop every 4-6 weeks and then cram everything in but maybe it has something to do with saving face from Civil War.
Why o why how could that cross someones mind the killing of Cap?What kind of dumb message is that sending?I've hashed it over for days...Still I'm left wondering why?He was just starting a come back.hopefully they can repair this somehow. :(
Read Civil War: The Initiative #1 for more on Cap's fate...
Since this is our resident comic discussion thread and I am not inclined to make another one...
Be very afraid (http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.889). What If?s keep becoming reality way too often lately.
Pretty much every character in the Marvel Universe has died at some point or other, so I wouldn't worry too much about never seeing Cap again. As for the means and a reason I think its probably quite appropriate given the time and place it happened, Cap wouldnt really suit being an outlaw either in custody or out.
As for the 'new cap' has anyone else also seen the Iron man version? And a little game; who can think of the most bizarre new Cap?
Quotehas anyone else also seen the Iron man version
That turned out to be a hoax, a recoloured piece of the cover art to
CW: The Initiative. (I assume you refer to the red-blue-white Iron Man holding Cap's shield and the USofA flag?)
QuoteCap wouldnt really suit being an outlaw either in custody or out.
He could've turned into Nomad again... Then again, that's essentially what US Agent did when he joined Omega Flight :D
The next big shtick is that to spin-doctor the heck out of this turn of events they have to keep Steve under the ground for at least a few years, let Bucky take up the mantle and spin-doctor it even more :D
Pictures yell louder than words. Again.

And in this case they yell that Bendis has no original ideas whatsoever, and can only regurgitate inferior copies of other people's.*
*With his tin-eared, god-awful, bad-impersonation-of-Tarantino "dialogue" added.
Dude, I'm already afraid for the life of Kitty Pryde who he recently 'borrowed' from Ultimate X-Men into Ultimate Bendis-Ma-- er-- Spider-Man for an indefinite amount of time -- unless there is divine intervention in the shape of Ultimate Peter Wisdom (to whisk her off and, probably, shag her a few times before parting ways, just like his 616 counterpart), this is gonna get too far south.
Ahh, these days I can only count on Ennis (as Barracuda and Ghost Rider: Trail of Tears rock heaps) and Ellis (Osborn's similarity to Tommy Lee Jones notwithstanding, Thunderbolts ARE panning out interestingly).
