Northstar Mod Conversion v1.06 by Dihan

Overwrite every file from previous versions just in case.

Powers: Blue = Offensive, Red = Boost, Green = Xtreme.
Light Beam Northstar releases a beam of bright light, causing energy damage.
Energized Uppercut Does an uppercut powered with light energy. Causes Knockback.
Blinding Flash Northstar radiates bright light that confuses enemies.
Split-Second Jab Moves at supersonic speed and uppercuts enemy.
Accelerated Shockwaves Vibrates rapidly and pushes the ground, generating shockwaves.
Dual Light Beam Releases double beams of bright light, causing heavy energy damage.
Shooting Star Through focus, Northstar can increase his speed to even higher levels than normal through the manipulation of kinetic energy. This allows him to move and attack quicker, whilst dealing extra damage due to the extra force behind his blows.
Tampered Powers Due to the tampering of the Children of Vault, Northstar becomes stronger, reducing damage taken, and increasing physical damage.
Radiating Star Radiates built-up light energy, frying circuits and causing radiation damage.

Dihan thanx a lot for this great mod, i havent try it yet, but i'll do it as soon as i can. I like alpha flight a lot, so this mod is one that i have been waiting for a long time. By the way, are you planning to do some guardian mod? (from alpha flight too), i'd be very grateful if you could do some guardian mod, because thats one of my favourite characters since childhood. I thing theres some guardian skin or mannequin, so maybe this could be a starting point. Anyway thanx a lot. Keep working like that. Saludos desde espaƱa.

I don't feel that I'm anywhere near good or clever enough to create my own mod, hence why I've done a conversion. Also, I was only really planning on doing Northstar from Alpha Flight because he's also been a member of the X-Men. Someone will probably make Guardian sometime it probably won't be me though, sorry.

What I want to convert next is likely to be way too difficult (maybe near impossible) for me to pull off. But first I have a rest.

You have used 20301 slot, and i think that slot is already used by hawkeye.

Hawkeye is 171xx in the character coordination thread. Only 20301 in actors was taken I searched for whatever was in that .IGB in the texturefinder and couldn't find anything at all. Also, 203 was listed as empty for the Character Coordination thread.

If it becomes an issue then I'll shift them up one, 20302-09 are empty.

mmmmh... selecting the AOA skin crashes the game.

EDIT: power 3 doesnt work and the icons are weird...

I know, and I said so in the first post. I don't know how to fix it, the skin is there and it's been referenced properly and whatever, but it refuses to work.

I've double checked and triple checked the .igb and it just won't work for some reason. I may just re-import the .bmp onto a fresh version of the skin just to see if that fixes it.

Ok, that fixed it. I'll re-upload it now.

203 was Hawkeye's old slot when it was first converted from PSP. There's a recent post in the Coordinational Concepts thread that updates the slot list as much as I could given recent releases and reservations.

well actually BF is in the 4th position in the power list, but ingame it's in the thisrd position....

I've put the skins up. You've already seen the icons anyway, they look exactly the same as the ones you sent me except a bit smaller.

Anyway, it seems Husk isn't so above me. I have all of her powers working except for Wooden Lunge (just like the similar Rogue power, it doesn't do damage) but I can just check out the Cannonball mod for that, I hope.

Thanks again for your work on Northstar. I hope you keep converting these characters that the XML2 modders have done!

I gave Northstar a try and here are a few notes:
-Skins and huds look great, as do the icons (though the "black box" effect needs removed.
-Powers 1 and 6 are cool; nice to have the effects so similarly colored. Power 5 is fine as well.
-Power 2--the left hand, which actually gives the uppercut, is not given an effect. That should be a simple fix to bolt that on in the PS.
-Power 3 doesn't seem to work at all.
-Power 7 (1st Boost) doesn't have any effect, so it's impossible to tell when the power is active.
-There's no jumpsmash and only a generic grabsmash. The jumpsmash should be simple to add by pulling it from another character's ps. Grabsmash could be improved if you use the coding from the 4_combat_skeleton you used.
-I don't have any powers or icons for skin 6. Could be a problem in the packages.

Overall a good start with some fairly easy fixes to get it up to top shape. Looking forward to see what you do with Husk, and I'll try to check out the issues in your files for her as well.

I admit that the icons do have black boxes around them but the power and costume problems confuse me.

Here are a few images of the powers in question with the sixth costume, just to prove that they do work for me. I have no idea whatsoever why they wouldn't work for anyone else.

There is one. Though if you meant the jump smash during flight, then that is a problem - I guess I repeatedly forgot to do it.

So again, I don't know why they don't work for you when they work perfectly fine for me. Maybe if I re-zipped them all using the files I use, it's possible I may have forgotten to update my main folders whilst testing stuff out...

I'm going to be uploading v1.02b soon using the exact files I use in my game, straight from my MUA directory. If that doesn't solve the problems then at least I know it's not my files that are at fault. :P

My guess is that's the issue. There's no reason yours should be working and others aren't if we were using the exact files.

If you like, I can do a voice set. I don't have any custom sounds, but if you tell me a character from XML2 or MUA that you think he'd sound like, I can put a set together. You can use NPCs, but they'll have less sounds to go with.

What I usually do is pick a voice set that makes sense from one of the games, but from a character I wouldn't normally play alongside Northstar. That way, he at least sounds unique when you're playing him. Maybe XML2 Iceman, with some "freeze" references omitted?

Here's a voice set. Just drop it in sounds/eng/n/o next to the power sounds and you should be good to go.

It's primarily Iceman from XML2, with a few sounds from MUA iceman thrown in where he was lacking. Don't worry--Northstar will never say "Chill Out!"

I really like this mod. I hope you can polish up those few issues that remain.

Dihan, I got a friend to do some xtreme callouts for me for some of my mods. I'm going to update my Northstar mod with a voice set that includes the callout. If you want to include it in your conversion, watch out for my XML2 update.

FYI: The voice I did for Northstar says a generic "XTREME!" when he does his extreme move.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but the mod shows MANY errors for me.
1. In version v1.02b (fresh install) Northstar doesn't have any powers in game (in the selection screen they are there. Installing 1.02 over 1.0 fixes that.
2. The directory for HUD is wrongly named HUDs
3. Power icons are square instead of round (wrong alpha channel/transparency number?)
4. The power "Blinding Flash" shows a generic icon (IIRC 4) and does not work in game (Installing 1.02 over 1.0) for me.

I'm working on a unique French sounding one using voices from another game. Done.

The sounds aren't particularly good quality, especially not compared to your one, but it is French and sounds quite arrogant... Which has Northstar written all over. The main problems I've found is that some of the voice samples are too quiet and sound a bit fuzzy. Is there any way to fix this?

For the grab smash, I tried to do it as best I could. I'm not completely happy with it but it works.

Any further updates for bugs or what not will be put on hold, as will the Husk conversion (as if it was going anywhere anyway).

Apparently "a drive in a RAID 0 volume is failing". Don't worry, I've backed everything up onto my dad's external hard drive, USBs and my SD card.

I'm getting it sorted ASAP, I can't live without my computer!

Northstar is not showing any powers/icons showing up...on the character menu or in the game...i try to bring them up but nothing shows up...

Pacaveli: That sounds like a packages problem. Did you rename anything or put the packages in the wrong place?
If I personally had any of these problems then I wouldn't have released it.

Icons are almost fixed. One of them is still square for me. Don't remember which one.
Blinding Flash still doesn't work. Icon appears fine in the menu, but in game it doesn't. Power doesn't work either.
Also one of the two boosts (Shooting Star IIRC) does not show any graphic effects after the initial one.

PS: Yes - I start a new game each time for testing heroes.

It's working great now for me, Dihan. I'm not experiencing the above mentioned problems: No icon issues, power 3 working, jumpsmash, etc. Creative work on the grabsmash, though I can see why you're not completely satisfied with it. Perhaps something in the interact_victim file could fix the enemy flying in the air thing.

Nice, nice job. Another excellent addition to the mod list. I'm moving it up to stage 3 in the catalog.

I only got to test it out for 10 minutes or so, but what I heard sounded fine.

Well I found that I couldn't hear the voices very well over the other characters, so I upped the volume a bit... Though this made the voices when you select Northstar particularly buzzy but on the other hand, it made the others louder and clearer. I also took the opportunity to fix sounds that wouldn't play.

Dihan, have you converted the skins to MUA format(as in doing the channel swap and stuff)? I've just noticed that the areas on the skin that should be bright pink look violet in your screenies.

Wolfsbane is nearly done - I only started on it this morning!

I just need to do the passives for the one costume and get a missing sound file that comes with XML2. Then I can release it. I also need a mannequin, but that can wait for a bit.

My artistic skills may be good enough for icons but I can not for the life of me get my head around skinning, so the other three costumes will have to either wait or be done for me. This also means there won't be a loading screen for the moment.

There are a few minor visual glitches though, such as when Rahne is moving around the base her skin changes but her animations don't, so she ends up being a wolf walking on her hind legs. There are also similar problems when picking stuff up, but that only occurs if you don't stop before picking them up.

Anyway, Wolfsbane v1.1 will probably be released by tomorrow night. After a bit of a rest I think I'll take another go at Husk.

On an unrelated note, I've made a few conversions of Shafcrawler's skins, along with HUDs and packages for my own personal use. But if Shafcrawler allows me to, I can release them as alternate skins for him. That's up to him, of course but seeing as he's just got MUA he'll probably want to do it himself. :P

im so happy your converting Wolfsbane, i think she's one of the funnest mods to play with.

thats weird, in xml2 in the bases she runs on all four but her skin doesnt change. so its a human running like a dog.  About being a wolf when she lifts stuff, you could look for the entry in shared_nodes for picking up stuff, put it in her powerstyle and add the line to turn off wolf form.  that way whenver she picks up something she is automatically human.

and about the skins, i would suggest if anyone does any skins for her they use a base with short hair (like the one skin she has now), since her main skeleton is male and her second skeleton is non-human and long her will probably stick through her body.

The "no long hair" limitation ruins her Age of Apocalypse prospects.

Ok, it just looks odd. Where would I find the swimming and base walking entries so I can add them to the fightstyle?

I've noticed that Nightcrawler runs on all fours when inside the base, how do I control this? Or conversely, where can I find the entry for the normal one so I can set it to use just the human skin? I'm assuming it's different because the animations are different.

Also, where do I find the swimming entry?

Errors I found:

Dust (not the most recent version-so might be already fixed):
* Regular Punches don't work.
* Max Energy power of 1st skin has an error.

Marrow:
* Bone charge has a white icon in game
* Bone charge doesn't work properly:
First it looks like Marrow is doing some sort of powerup, then the enemy takes damage, then she charges backwards away from the enemy.

Wolfbane:
*Icon of Devastating Blow is broken (outside of menu).
*Use of   
power1 = power1 ;
power2 = power5 ;
power3 = power8 ;
power4 = power7 ;
causes confusion on the buttons if using a gamepad.

PS: When I say that the icons are corrupted outside of the menu, then I am talking of the gamepad 'menu'. They might show up fine in the keyboard 'menu'.

It sounds like you haven't started a new game.

I had the Bone Charge animation problem when I didn't start a new game.

I had Dust's punching problem before, but they work, and have worked since before I uploaded so I'm not sure.
I haven't tested the passives on the first costume yet, but could you clarify what error it has?

I've never used a gamepad so I have no idea about that.

I am always starting a new game with usually 4 heroes (total) in my herostat when trying any new mods. Its not like these are the first mods I try - I have >100 chars installed right now.

The passive shows "lvl1: -100% max energy"

Do you happen to have anything unusually installed? Like some 3D analyzer. Or do your mods alternatively need some others installed (like the moves package or...)

Its seems strange that besides yours I only had problems with 2 others so far, but all of yours I tried. There has to be some reason for that?!

I'll have a look at the passives.

I'll try repackaging with all the files I personally use. I may have accidentally included an older version of a file.

I did have problems getting Dust to fight though, and the Marrow Bone Charge happened to me, as I said, when I didn't start a new game and her animations were stuck to default instead of what she's supposed to have.

I'm not using other programs either and the only other thing I have installed is the Official Characters pack.

It also doesn't even have a corrupted icon (insread it shows the number "1")
"Shooting Star" doesn't have any visible effect.

a) I can't see the problem for myself
b) I don't know how to fix it
c) Even if I did I wouldn't be able to test out any of the fixes without uploading loads of different versions

They're not needed anyhow, so you can just delete them if you want

It seems like you've been having some of these problems for a while. Are you sure you've been replacing everything? Talents, icons, powerstyle, herostat, everything. All the powers should work because they work for me and I packaged up the files I use.

ok checked out Marrow and this is what i found/did

Fixed Bone armor move, now after the boost is done her armor dissapears (i forget to hex edit the number of the skin inside the igb, so the game couldnt figure out to remove that skin since the number inside the igb and the number used outside didnt match.)

Fixed Bone charge missing bolton: the charge move works like it should, its not suppose to work like other charge moves, since charge moves cause damage when rushing, while her move does damage at the very end, with the touch (plus, yes the animations dont really work like a regular charge).  But i did notice i had wrongly defined a bolton boost, so at the beginning of the move she is suppose to extend bones to her shoulders, rush, stop and remove them.  Heres a pic:

I'm just going to get a mannequin made by Ravencore (when I talk to him next...) and then I'll release it... Then I'll start on my next mod. I've currently been brainstorming Hellion - he should be quite simple. I really want to make a male character for a change. All of my mods (except Northstar) have been female so it's time for a change, and what better way to follow up Surge than with her Hellion rival, Hellion... Though I've only seen one skin and I wasn't too fond of it (read: I couldn't really tell it was Hellion).

Here I am again - your personal nightmare and error detector...

Surge:
* Misses the HUDs (directory is named HUDs where it should be named hud).
* X-Treme shows a completely white icon (Gamepad menu)
* She seems to be too powerful/use up too few energy with powers IMHO.
* Values of Static Shield seem to be wrong (I don't see damage for example).

Husk:
The numerical values of both passives seem to be weired. They do what is described in the flavor text, but I am not sure of for example the ATK bonus is truely present for the Glass Sculpt form.

In any case: Great work!

1) Easy mistake. I'll fix that.
2) Again, I have no idea how to fix the Gamepad menu icons
3) Funnily enough, her powers use the same damage and energy as other powers (Thunder Balls and Invisible Woman's rapid tap, for example). Sometimes less.
4) I'll have a look at that.

Husk:
Do you mean the boosts having a minus in the description but actually giving a plus in game? I couldn't figure out why the game was giving a negative bonus on a positive number so I just flipped the values.

I can't fix anything right now because I'm on my lunch break.

Nice job with these mods Dihan, I was wondering however if anyone knew how to fix the "no powers with gamepad" issue, I seem to only experience this with Northstar, so I'm guessing someone could let me know which files could be causing this issue.(When in-game pressing R1 to bring up powers does nothing)...sorry to keep bringing this up, but a lot of folks are comfortable with their gamepads in MUA and I figured this would be a great help.

I can't think of any reason why it would do that. The only thing I left out was a duplicate skin for the fourth costume and the corresponding herostat entry.

Dihan,

I think the problem for the menu crash is the model (223_hellion.igb). I replaced the one that came with the mod with xml2 sunfire (edited one of the powers so the telekinetic blast would work properly) and it didn't crash.
The mod is great. Really nice work.

The problem lies on the china government, people! You can keep trying to download it a thousand times and it won't work!

China's firewall works! I've had this kind of trouble before when trying to download a couple mods here.

Any site that holds any kind of "dangerous" information for their network is automatically blocked. The only way is to ask a friend who's not inside the mainland borders and then send to a e-mail account.

Bully forces the enemies to physically attack you whilst lowering their defences. You may have noticed that the Doombot had stopped using his lasers and knockback thing and instead started punching.

Code-wise, MUA is quite different to XML2 and some things work when others don't. For example, Rogue's Power Theft doesn't work in MUA whilst one of Thor's powers only works in MUA. So that means the powers have to be changed slightly to function, there are other things such as flipping the BGR of the costumes to RGB and fixing up any skeleton or herostat issues.

I downloaded the Hellion mod and is awesome, I love it, great powers, great animations,everything is fine, I also downloaded Dust but when I extract the files with winrar appear an error, Is there a problem with that or is normal, maybe when I donloaded some file are missing, so i downloaded again, but could you check if everything is fine?
Now I'll try with the stepford cuckoo mod!

I've updated the Stepford Cuckoos and Surge with the load screens by Shafcrawler. I've had to make a few changes so they accommodate the size of MUA load screens (2048x1024), but they're still recognisable :P

Hmm. Do you mean the HUDs? Have you made sure that you've put them in the correct folder? They work for me, at least and no one else has reported such a problem.

I think he does mean the HUD's because I have the same problem (just a small red dot in the center of the HUD) in the Falcon mod.

Dihan, just wanted to tell you that your Northstar mod is fantastic!  I love his speed and Blinding Flash.  Playing the game with his faster speed, really moves the game along through the slow spots.  He's even faster than Quicksilver.  After reading some more about both characters, that faster speed seems appropriate.  Thanks for the mod.

Dihan I downloaded Northstar recently, but when I want to put the files on the correct folders, it appears that his skins and manny files overwrite other files of another character, why??? O your mods, I have Dust, Stepford Cuckoo, Hellion and Husk on my team.

I've included the Cyclops and Colossus ones as alternate skins. If someone wants to use them they just rename whichever one they want to us to 22906 (and the same with the HUD) and replace the Psylocke one.

Hey, I tried your Shadow King mod.  It was the first mod I wanted to try.  I found two problems, his second boost didn't work and he freezes during his grabsmash animation once he slams the person to the ground.

It only freezes if you mash the attack button. I couldn't get it to not do that. The second boost works fine for me. Have you activated all powers at lvl 1? If you have he won't have enough energy to use it.

As for the Blackheart "mod conversion": there isn't a Blackheart mod to convert and the character doesn't interest me enough to warrant me making it from scratch.

I haven't experienced it personally. No matter how many times I've restarted the game. I've double checked all the packages, skeletons, talents, powerstyle, fightstyle and they're all identical to what I use. So he should have melee attacks.

I had that problem.  When I looked in the mod's data file, there was a fightstyle folder instead of a fightstyles folder.  When I extracted it, the main game's data folder had a fightstyle and a fightstyles folder.  I just moved the stuff from the fightstyle to the fightstyles folder and then he could do melee attacks. :carnage:

Regarding Rockslide: Finger darts doesn't work for me. Nothing is fired and no damage is done. He only raises his arm.

Regarding Shadow King: Could not reproduce the crash when inserting him into another team. So I basically habe no clue why he didn't want to be in the other one.

One thing I noticed playing with Sage, Surge, Hellion and Punisher in hard mode.

I used the filler cheat to check out the xtreme powers and got that annoying lagged frames after the powers were triggered. And it happened in two different ways:
1. Only Sage fired her extreme and then no character could move, but her;
2. Surge fired her xtreme at first, then Sage fired hers and everything started lagging and again, only sage could move!

I've tried it with many other characters (mods and MUA originals) it only happens when Sage is in the team. It's like if her xtreme was causing a memory overload or something! Anyone had this trouble before?

Could it be due to my lousy laptop?
I got AMD Turion64 1.6GHz, 1GB memory, 100GB HDD and nVidia GeForce Go 7300 128MB running WinXP.

But I've never had this problem with any MUA character or mods before! Except running under the Advanced Light Effect that makes the game run slow like a turtle!

I know that some people have had problems with Xtremes with other characters. I've had it happen a few times whilst making other characters, but never with Surge.

Just a lil' observation. At first, I thought the problem was with Surge! But then, I removed Sage and the game went on very smoothly! I've already reached Mandarin Palaces playing with Wolverine, Dark Phoenix, Surge and Hellion and all went very well, no bugs so far! The problem was with Sage in the team, I guessed!

Yep, just tried the same team as you and it happened again! Sage fired her extreme first and then everything started moving in slow-mo and only Sage could move. The other characters don't fire their extremes and just stood there unable to move! I'm gonna try with other characters - without surge and then without hellion - to confirm my suspicions (either Hellion or Surge is the one having problems with Sage)

So, I just tried other characters, and it turns out the problem really was with Sage! This time, I tried with Dark Phoenix, Deadpool, Cyclops, Magneto, Ironman, Captain America, all the same results... She gets to be the one firing the extreme first and then all other three just stand there and Sage starts running around - All in slow-mo - ! Just used heroselect and moved her outta my herostat!

I had this problem once -- I had just dowloaded the OC mod! I was playing on Atlantis, team consisting on Hulk, Cap, Hawkeye and Spider-Man. After executing the extreme, the game pratically froze -- I could barely move the Hulk (which I was already controlling), but at slow motion. I had to return to a check point and go through that stage without executing extremes (I tried doing it again, with the same results... so the extreme triggered the bug, I guess).

So, I don't know if it helps, but perhaps Sage is not exactly the problem.

I've had this problem with other characters. It may be that your computer can't handle so much going on at once. Have you tried using Sage's Xtreme in other places?

What do you mean other places? Like after the carrier? Omega Base or later? I just start the new game and try the character 'til I reach the checkpoint, actually.

So, I just tried with only Sage in-game and after using extreme, everything goes back to normal. But her animations were weird, like no punches showing, or coming few seconds later. I did start new game, default stats, dunno what's wrong.

Then, tried with Sage and Jubilee and that slow-mo thing appeared again...

Can't say what's the problem. My laptop is too crappy or I've got corrupted MUA... Bah, done with trying her out! I'm gonna just keep playing with my current roster!

About the Xtreme bug..
I have this problem with all the conversions that I have (Stepford Cuckoo, Dust, Northstar and Husk), that only hapen with the converted mods not the original mods by Dihan (Surge, Hellion, Rockslide).
Also I have to say that I use 3danalize to run my game because I don't have all the software needed by MUA to work.
So there are a few places like hellicarrier (in the fight with bullseye), Asgard (in the fight with enchantress)and Atlantis, that my game become slow, and when I use a Xtreme for exmaple of Dust, the game froze.
In another places like Murderworld or Doom Castle, my game is fine and runs at the correct speed, and if I use the xtreme, again of Dust, for example,  the game continues without a problem.
Maybe your problem is like mine, the mods works fine, but the sofwere don't. To correct this I only use the converted mods in some specific scenarios, that I know, work at the correct speed.
Hope you now what I'm talking about :)

I had this problem in one game where I used Nightcrawler, Magneto, Cyclops and Hawkeye.  They were in the final battle with Radioactive Man and Winter Soldier.  After using the X-treme attack, the game went REALLY slow until both of them were defeated.  It took about 10 minutes to get through that battle (everything was in slow motion).  I didn't run into further problems after that.

Converted = the character is originally from another game (XML2).

EDIT: Reading further, I think it might also refer to a character which orginally belonged to another plataform... so I probably got it wrong... sorry.

Mods from XML2 need to be adapted for use in MUA. A lot of things are different, for example in XML2 characters have an overall large amount of energy and do a larger amount of damage. Some things may also not work properly, in whatever way that means. This also holds true for mods converted from MUA to XML2.

Anyway, I'll release my huge mod in a few hours once I'm back from school.

Sage has some bugs as well. For one her Finisher did not trigger finishers of other characters for me. Also her slowdown in the xtreme seems to be a bit too long (maybe 3 seconds after the animations are already finished)
More importantly her basic punch does not work.

If you can't do that, can you use Nick Fury's ground attack (where he fires his gun) and adjust her arm so it's bent and pointing up, then put Mystique's gun boltons in her hands, please. If not Scarlet Witch's idle with a gun in both hands will suffice.

The skin I want to be mannequin'd is her revealing navy blue one.

Hey Dihan

As I told Blaw in his thread, I put his Cyclops visor bolton on Rogue and it kinda looked good, which reminded me about her Extreme X-Men skin for XML2. I was checking with Shaftcrawler, and he said you might have converted this skin to be MUA compatible... just wanted to check out with you!

Alright, just got my MUA geared back up and have installed all your mods. Really enjoying them so far, but was curious if anyone has been experiencing this peculiar occurence.

I'm playing with Hellion and after using his grabsmash (I think that's what it's called) - when you grab and execute a special attack - Hellion picks them up and uses telekinesis to send them flying...only problem is, they turn into spinning tops of destruction. They spin on their heads and just keep ricocheting around everywhere. This is pretty hilarious to watch..however, whatever they collide with they damage, including my characters. They never stop spinning as well, making it a bit difficult to kill them off. I made the mistake of using the special throw on three enemies consecutively and all of their hazardous spinning nearly killed my whole party.

If this is intentional, then I apologize for bringing it up or failing to notice this was mentioned elsewhere.

I've never encountered the never-ending spin for any of the characters with the same type of grab smash (Dr Strange, Scarlet Witch, etc) including Hellion. Did you try killing them from range? The damage is supposed to be and it is like that for other grab smashes of the same nature.

Wow really impressive. So we have the "gold" Elixir as the default character with has healing and deffensive powers, and then he has a rage system, that "transforms" him into the "black" Elixir, wich have the offensive powers right? That's so cool ^_^
I really like the powerset and the skins, and the xtreame looks really awesome, good job with him.
Any news about Lady Mastermind? I saw the pictures in your mods in progress tread and she looks awesome too.

Sorry about this, but I do not know where else to ask. I installed the Hellion v1.03 mod and started a new game with default settings and he does not show up in the character select screen and when I go to add him to my roster my game crashes. Same thing happened with Blink and Dust. I don't know if there is something else that I need to do in order to make the mod work properly. I used XMLBCUI to decompile and recompile the mod, all the other mods I have used work properly. Could someone help me please?

Important Notes
Right now there is a problem with the skin swapping for both Xtremes and Rage. If you activate either before the other then when the other is activated the skin from the previous one will be activated. This applies to Xtremes, Rage and if you change costume. If you wish to play with the full effect then you will have to save and quit the game to the desktop in between Xtreme and Rage or after changing your costume.

Awww, thanks, though I think I messed up and sent BLaw the wrong textures for Alpha Squadron in the end. I just realized that the feet are just blobs of green in the video. I'm sure I added more details when I made it. I hope it's not too much of a bother.

I think I can do 14 more mods to make it equal... Hmm. Prodigy, Mercury, Pixie, Match, Trauma, Lady Mastermind, Siryn, Sunspot and Moonstar are currently on my list. Wind Dancer is a maybe. I may make the likes of Icarus, Wallflower, and other past New X-Men as mini-mods.

I'll probably make Magik someday. To me Trance is a bit of a one-trick pony - she can astral project and leave her body completely vulnerable whilst doing so and fire energy blasts. She also hates violence.

Make sure all the files are in the correct folders. The problem you're describing sounds like what happens if an actors file isn't found.

Elixir can't fly. I suspect you're talking about Banshee.

Anyway, this problem has nothing to do with the mods because they work. The proof is in the preview movie and the responses. So the problem is on your end.

I was playing with Hellion and noticed that his icons are a bit screwy. When I try to change a power during a battle an icon is just a white circle, two of the icons are the same, and his xtreme icon is where the passive icon should be. I hope I'm not the only with this problem, any way to fix it?

The likely reason for no X-Force outfit is because the mod is not 100% complete as per the statement in the Wolfsbane post (I am assuming you didn't bother to read it...):

so it's me again.
Just winging about Elixir this time
So here's a story for you kids
I made an X-Force team: Wolverine, Angel, Elixir and Domino
At first everything was fine.
Then, at dum dum dugan mission i, of course, switched to Elixir and SURPRISE SURPRISE I could only use his black powers.
No, he wasn't in rage. Even when he got in rage later nothing changed. And when he got out of rage again, nothing changed.
I KNOW FOR A FACT that at first everything was fine
It's just as if someone flipped a switch and poof! golden powers be gone!
any idea (short of restarting the game for upteenth millionth time) how i can revert this?

I can think of restarting the game for the umteenth time. or there's a small mistake in the talentfile/powerstyle. Which I doubt since Dihan doesn't make modding mistakes that fast; he's like Chuck Norris, error-less. Dihan are you redheaded by any chance?:P

It's actually caused by combination of  :wolverine: :wbane: AND Elixir TOGETHER being on the same team.

Oh and did I mention that that same Xtreme sometimes brings back enemy characters?

Polite PMs are more likely to get a response than those that aren't. Right now, though, I have university work to do so I will be ignoring all PMs until it's all done.

On the Marvel website Hellion comes up as a man (Julian keller).

Hey buddy, just wanted to say that Hellion, Surge, and Northstar are just spectacular! I did find one problem with Hellion though. When I use his powers in game, the little pictures that come up don't match the pictures in his power menu at the character select screen. He plays perfectly fine, but some of the pictures are mismatched, and others don't appear at all. I'm using the Hero Select program for my mods, so should I just re-install him in that program, or just download him again and replace all of his files? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated buddy, and thanks in advance!

I had the same problem with Hellions power icon pictures when i changed them durring game play (pressing down while holding the use powers button). he plays awesome though i love the telekinetik pop up power like Human Torch's

dihan, i fixed it. wherever it said ents_psylocke.xmlb, I made it ents_psyloc.xmlb and changed the file name to that as well. now, it works. maybe the name was too long?

The mod (and the fixed files) worked well for me, I loved it!
One question, did you used MUA2 textures for the effects for the first power?, Everytime that I use that power a green square appears after she releases the "butterfly" bolt.
I'm sure that I have a missing texture.

great work as always dihan. the mod is amazing. btterfly sworm is a beautiful power and I loved the sword/dagger boost.

one very small bug report. for the house pf M skin the max health passive is bugged. if you buy it you get your hp reduced to zero.

other than that, all working perfectly for me.

BTW, there's a problem with the first power ^^. A block appears on her head when she's shooting the butterfly, also im pretty sure its nothing you can do about it, but when i paused the game all her effects (that where on) flyed away. Fly Butterfly fly XD

This is the issue that I have with the first power:

A green square appears. As I posted before it should be a missing texture. I noticed that the effect that cause this problem is located on the next line:

So I changed the "p1_charge", and used "ability_flyb" that is the butterfly effect and the power looks close as the original.
Also Mr. Nowhere man is right, the House of M "Max Health" passive doesn't work, it reduces your health points. Not sure if you already fixed this one on your latest update.

I think I've fixed the Max Health passive. Please make sure you get the latest versions.

It's not useful when bugs are reported from old versions.

I'll get the texture for that effect now and reupload soon.

It would also be helpful if more people reported bugs instead of just leaving it and letting someone else do it. How could this effect glitch, for example, not be reported when it's in the first power? Same with everything that was wrong when I first uploaded. I had nearly 50 downloads but the first I heard of the problems was hours later.

All the icons are fine for me as well, and I'm using a gamepad.

I downloaded and installed the latest version (v1.02), but for me Psylocke's grabsmash still looks like the Black Widow one. Is that her intended grabsmash, or is she meant to have a unique one?

this psylocke mod is unbelievable, this is how she should have been made in videogames !!!
but I'm experiencing a problem, I downloaded the latest ver and started a new game, everything seemed fine at first but now I've reached Mandarin's mission and whenever she's activating her psychic katana, it disappears and does no damage and no sound at all and when her xtreme is used, it slows down the game forever even without activating the katana so I had to quit the game..am I the only one who's facing this?

That's the correct one. That's what MUA2 Psylocke's grabsmash is. I just copied what it was directly from the MUA2 version. I don't really know enough about the interaction files to want to mess around with it.

Do you have a weak computer? I know that if there are a lot of effects happening at once then some effects don't play and the Xtremes don't end. The amount seems to be based on how powerful your computer is. I personally don't have these problems because I just solo the game anyway.

I think my computer isnt that weak since this does not happen usually and besides no effect it also does no damage and sounds...anyway does the 1.02 update has the same herostat entry as the 1.01 one?
edit : I tried revamping from my team and everything is fine...it's really weird that it only happens when my team has the following combinations with Psylocke being on the fourth spot so far : Cyclops,Nightcrawler,Gambit  and Cyclops,Nightcrawler,Jean Grey...whenever I switch either one between Nightcrawler or Cyclops from the team everything works fine...If she is switched from the fourth character slot no problem occurs

It's probably down to me not matching the icon numbers in the Talents and the Powerstyle. I'll be slowly going through my mods with updates so it'll be fixed eventually.

Though I don't have this problem. I believe it only affects game pads. I don't have a game pad so I'm unable to test it out either.

With the Cuckoo's extreme (phoenix warsong i believe) is there anyway to make the other Cuckoos go away like you did with your prev. vid? Last time i checked these B**ches keep hanging around XD

Nope, just downloaded latest version and didnt happen. I believe theyre actors right? They keep doing their first quick punch and just stay there if there's nothing to punch. Its really hard to get out with the Cuckoo you play

I had a feeling there is somethings missing/changing on Dark Psylocke HUD during a her Doom boss fight. It turns out to be her Classic HUD, not her Doom HUD.

Note:
that hud_head_3001 was defaultly to 3005 skin on darkpsylocke_3005 pkgb files due the installation.

Got a thing going on with Wolfsbane :wbane:

Played through testing out characters my team was (Wolfsbane, Elektra, Ronin and Hulk) all direct from in game and OFC. Played through fine when I beat Scorpion my game crashed. Wolfsbane was the only newbie so I attempted to try again.

I set out with the team of Wolfsbane, Wolverine, Cap and Thor. Unfortunately Wolfsbane got backed into the fire and died, so I beat Scorpion with the three. I rehealed her at the Save point. Went on beat Bullseye and ended the level with no issues.

So went back a third time. Using Wolfsbane, Mr. Fantastic, Cap and Wolverine. Once again after I beat Scorpion the game crashed.

I was controlling Wolfsbane during all said boss fights. Anyone have a clue if maybe i'm doing something wrong?

EDIT 1: Did some more playing around and here were the results. Wanted to try and test and not start a new serious play through.

I didn't use her at first, so I used another team to beat Scorpion. I switched at the save point to Wolfsbane, Doctor Strange, Hulk and Songbird. I beat Bullseye no problems. Just Doctor Strange's walking motion had a glitch around Wolfsbane. He flies normally but when walking he's a little clunky looking.

Changed at the next level to Wolfsbane, Black Panther, Iron Man and Silver Surfer. Wanted to see if it happened with other flyers and Wolfsbane. All went fine. Beat WS and Radioactive Man in the first thing fine. Got to the end. I killed WS but then it crashed again. I wasn't in control of Wolfsbane. I was Surfer this time.

Wolfsbane is really cool to play as so I just kind of wish there was a way to make her a bit more reliable or at least see if she has a friendly boss battle guide.

EDIT 2: After digging through the topic more (I only searched for Wolfsbane directly) I think the problem comes with the gear the bosses are dropping. As someone else reported a crash with Shadow King. I just switched around people in my herostat and tried again and still got the crash. For some reason it doesn't like me having Wolfsbane on the team for certain gear drops.

EDIT 3: Switched more things around. Had the team Wolfsbane, Wolverine, Songbird and Scarlet Witch. I beat Scorpion and no crash. I did lead him off of his platform onto the ramp leading to the fight. I was going to explore further yet my game stopped responding on a load screen. Going to attempt again in a little bit.

EDIT 4: Once again same thing. Team was Venom, Wolfsbane, War Machine and Luke Cage. Once again crash following the Scorpion defeat. I was playing as Venom this time. I'm just going to take a break from her. Subbed her out of the herostat and as expected no crash on Scorpion and WS. It's gotta be something with Wolfsbane.

Anyone know of a way to combat this?

As far as i'm aware there's something wrong with wolfsbane when she levels up, no sure why or how it happens either the only way around it i can think of is to use the lvl99 cheat and see if it still does it, after all if she can't lvl then she shouldn't crash right?

Shouldn't it happen when she levels up then? She levels up and does the animation perfect. The crash comes when I beat the boss (so far on Scorpion & Winter Solider and Not on Bullseye) and the gear should be loading.

After taking the break and playing a whole game through, I decided to put Wolfsbane back in. No crash when i beat Scorpion and it didn't happen like the time before where it crashed me on the next loadscreen.

Hopefully this is the end of the problem. I'm going to try it a few more times later on but my team for this first no crash Wolfsbane mission were her, Mr Sinister, Magma and Super Skrull..........what a team to get the job done  :wbane:  :sinister:  :magma:  :sskrull:

EDIT 1: Unfortunately it was not. Crash returned upon playing with Wolfsbane, Magma, Invisible Woman & Emma Frost.

Hey Dihan,

I love your Hellion mod! I just downloaded the lastest version, 1.03, and I noticed that when Hellion flies, the green effect only appears on Hellion's right hand, and nowhere else.

Is this a known bug? Or is thing something that just affects me? lol

Would you have any ideas on how to fix this?

The emma mod wasn't made by dihan, but the reason they may only have a couple of powers is because some powers require the character being at a certain level.  Most characters only have like one power when the game starts, so that may be your problem.  You just might not be at the right level in order for those powers to become available.

The Psylocke mod is epicness, she looks awesome in game and her powers are very well done.

Though I've noticed she doesn't regenerate energy when her buffs are up and she can't break through enemies who you have to hit with most combos.  So far I've seen she can't break through pop-up, stun and knockback I'm not so sure about trip.

Edit: Also when the psyblade is active (when it becomes the sword) effects for other buffs and most powers vanish.

Very cool psylocke mod, you must have spent a ton of time on this. 
I stumbled on a minor glitch, when enemies are showing up as vulnerable to knockback, her attack doesn't accomplish it, so I need to have her find a weapon to knock out those villains or make sure I have someone else on the team to do it.

Psylocke's grabsmash is the same as Blackwidow's. It was not working for me at first. As Nowhere Man put it, changing the "interaction_psylocke_victim" to "interaction_blackwidow_victim" in the powerstyle may do. Another way I did was putting the interaction_psylocke_victim file in the actors folder which is missing in the mod.

Psylocke can also grabsmash like Elektra. You may use "interaction_elektra_victim" and Psylocke's 9th power animation.

Your mods are great and this of Psylocke is sweet. For personal use, I want to make use of your Blink's idle skeleton for Psylocke.

Well due to my workload I'm unable to look at any of my mods again for a while. Nowhere Man may have fixed that along with a few other things. Also, I can't remember whether I used any power animations from Psylocke's idle skeleton or not so there may be some animations that don't play correctly, like the somersault kick.

there are moves that have been taken from psylocke's idle animation. i have to make few adjustments since i am currently using blink's idle animation for her. i find no problem with the somersault kick; i use blink's menu goodbye animation.

wow...unbelievable video.  I love how you incorporated teleportation in most of his powers, as opposed to just transportation.  Teleportation Fury looks very clean and fluid.  And just when I was going to suggest using a teleport drop move for his grab move, you give us Free Fall.  And the Bamf cloud looks great.

Quick question though...are there any sword moves?  I may have just missed it in the video...

Also, not sure if you're still working on skins, but any chance on including Nightcrawler's X-Force skin?  It's just AoA but black and grey (please:)

I can't wait to play him.  Does it seem like he drops from the sky with a few powers?  Not criticizing, just wondering if its was intentional...I do like a dramatic entrance.

Thanks! I'm hoping the new bamf clouds look just as good. I'm not really a fan of Nightcrawler with swords. I know he has used swords in the past but I believe he has more iconic teleport attacks. Swords are also a bit lazy, in my opinion. I don't make skins myself, so no, sorry. If you mean Shadow Pounce, then yes. The idea is that he teleports into a shadowy corner, most likely in the ceiling, and hides there for as long as the button is held down before teleporting above the enemy and stomping on them.

Sucker Punch Nightcrawler teleports up to an enemy and punches them, knocking them into the air.
Acrobatic Kick Nightcrawler teleports forward and delivers an acrobatic kick combo to his enemies, knocking them away with each hit.
Sneak Attack Nightcrawler bamfs to multiple nearby enemies and does one attack against each enemy, stunning them briefly.
Shadow Pounce Nightcrawler teleports into the shadows and waits for an opportune moment before attacking, with a high chance of making a critical hit. Hold down to remain hidden from sight.
Teleporting Frenzy Nightcrawler bamfs around a single enemy multiple times unleashing kicks and punches.

Teleport Features

- Double jump followed by a succession of three short ranged teleports.
- Dedicated teleport power for long range distances.
- Hit jump at any point during an attack animation to interrupt its ending with a combat range teleport to set up combos with other teleporting powers and standard attacks.

I did a Dodge/Speed passive and a Reflect Damage/Reflect Team Switch. Think of the latter as Nightcrawler's spatial awareness putting him in positions where his enemies hurt themselves or each other.

No. I tried Reflect Fear but it was quite annoying. The enemies would hit you and always run away for longer than the fear lasts because the chance roll wouldn't work no matter what I tried. Then it would happen all over again. With Reflect Team Switch it lasts a split second so the effects aren't noticeable unless they're in the middle of a combo, then they'll turn to the nearest enemy and attack them.

I'm encountering an error where Nightcrawler doesn't have light melee attacks. I haven't yet tried reinstalling but I think I was rather thorough in my replacement.

For me he works, I LOVE HIS NEW TELEPORTATION EFFECT, sorry for caps, but wow! It looks so good!
Just a few bugs here and there, Ill mention them

- When teleporting (3x triple jump) he enters a really weird state where you cant move and you can only teleport (not very far aswell) using a power solves this though

-With teleporting frenzy there's a small chance you fall trough the floor, I mainly encountered this error while using it on the grate floor in the helicarrier level, while it was lowered

Other then that WOW! And ill just have to ask, did Nightcrawler have that prayer animation in XML2? I don't recall it, but it looks really cool :D

Teleport Jump - Intended. It won't work without doing that.
Frenzy - I don't know. Probably something that can't be fixed.

I think the praying animation was in XML2. Otherwise, it could have been MUA2 Wii if he was in. I can't actually remember the skeletons I used other than Nightcrawler and Black Panther.

umm a question, would it be overdoing it if i tweaked your mod and added the ability to revive dead allies with the prayer power? the idea just came to me when i was just playing the game with him and saw how his prayer regenerated his team's health

How do you mean? Everything should be there so he doesn't have his swords. Did you install the new herostat?
