This is a package mod that replaces 19 XML2 characters with MUA characters.  The whole point of this project, was not to bring MUA to XML2, but to have a different choice. To see how non-X-Men heroes would look like in XML2. Apocalypse was a big threat, why wouldn't other heroes get involved in the fight?

Bonus stuff:
-added additional skins to Iron Man and Scarlet Witch
-added two bonus XML1 maps, Danger Room and Mansion, to the main menu Danger room, so you can use them to fight in.
- Character specific Team Bonuses. 

Notes:
The mod/package doesn't replace anything.  It has its own herostat, team bonus, and new save spot.  The point is to be able to run XML2 regularly, but run the Heroes Edition on its own.  So I went in and hexed the exe so that instead of herostat it looks for heromarv.engb, and so on.  It also offers a new save spot, it creates a new folder called "X-Men Heroess 2" were these new save game can be saved, that way it doesn't interfere with the normal game and its save games.  The main dangeroom icons are included in this pack so that every new mod and some npc have their own icons.  Also if you previously had installed these conversion characters, the new stuff will overwrite the old character stuff.  So don't worry, but still back up anything important I'm not responsible if you lose or overwrite something.

The new exe is called Xmen2_MUE.exe, it's a cracked exe so all you have to do is double click on it.

Scripts unlocks every character but Iron Man, so you can naturally unlock him.

You must have everything in the pack in your game for the whole thing to work properly, don't forget anything.  Just add everything.  Unpack the package in the the main XML2 folder.  Its set up just like XML2 sets up its files, so just unpack it or drag and drop to the appropriate file.

New to Previous version:
- characters that previously used two skeletons/new fightstyle, now only use one skeleton.  So now they are able to do combos and wont lose any animations.
- now we have starting characters, so no longer do you start with defaultman
- went back to using npcstat and reviewpaths, since a lot of script and map packages called for these specific files, so to prevent issues i just use the regular ones.
- Dropped Moon Knight from the roster, added Spiderman
- all characters have power sounds and voices, to get Spiderman and Ms Marvel's voices look here  http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=2924.0
- Characters now have Danger Room missions
- Gave Elektra, Black Panther, and Daredevil doublejump
- added a bunch of additional 3D heads
- fix a lot of powers that weren't working correctly

New To Final Version:
- updated all characters
- previous bugs no longer exist with this version
- added more danger room missions to characters (Spiderwoman, Daredevil, Blade, Mr Fantastic, Ghost Rider)
- added additional skins to Scarlet Witch and Iron Man

and just so you know:
teleporter - Dr Strange
drain batteries - Blade's Bite
Brotherhood - Scarlet Witch
builds bridges - Dr Strange and Invisible Woman
puts out fires - Thor's Blizzard power

Known issues/bugs:
- effects dissapearing or not looking correctly: i noticed this around act4, why this happens i don't know, most likely a memory issue with the game.  when this happens, just switch your team around.
- dissapearing ents attacks: again i noticed this around act5, sometimes in certain areas characters ents attacks don't show, so for example you may be holding down Invisible Woman's multiple shoot down, but nothing comes out.  Again, i haven't found a fix for this, but it only happens in certain areas within a map, sometimes just moving a couple of steps to the side fixes this.

BTW, there is an extra S in the team bonus for F4.

And IW's multiple shot power is called Kinetic Bolts. :)

This looks even more amazing than the first! About when in the year can we expect a Brotherhood Edition? No rushing intended.

no theres only 21, Human Torch, is shown twice, once at the end of the first row and at the top of the second row.  Moon Knight was replaced by Spiderman.

i also wanted to mention, for the next x_voice update, i'll be including all these characters menu callouts by Nick Fury, and if theres enough room, maybe at least one menu break line for the characters that dont have one.

This mod is EXCELLENT.  And I appreciate how all the characters included are up-to-date.  Is there a way to unlock Iron Man (perhaps through modifying new_game.py?)

no the pc mua skins dont work in xml2, so we can only use ps2 and xbox which both use the short hair model

This is an update for the XML2 Marvel Universe v4.

Just unpack after having installed the XML2 Marvel Universe v4 and replace those files that came in the package with these new files.

It includes:
- The latest update to the main menu Danger Room icons
- Up to date characters_heads.PKGB
- Updated Team Bonus file to fix spelling mistake and to rearrange some team bonuses (this fixes the Fantastic Four typo)
- Updated Danger Room item rewards for character challenges so characters get items they can actually use
- Adds official hud heads from MUA for Iron Man's new MUA skins

No need to start a new game with any of these updates/fixes. Now you are all up to date :).

I've been using this yet for some reason Elektra's mission pulls in default men instead of the ninjas. Is there another NPCS stat I need to have for this to work?

EDIT: Turns out I had too many people in my NPC Stat so I took out the ones who don't appear skin-wise (Avalanche, Nick Fury, etc). It worked then.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be releasing updates for the mods featured in this pack, so far here's a new Captain Marvel http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,4051.msg86506.html#msg86506 and Spider-Woman http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,4051.msg86508.html#msg86508. Eventually I will pack up the new updates and release an updated package. But if you don't want to wait for that go ahead and use the new ones.

So far the new package works even better than this current one. I got no crashes and the disappearing effect issue barely happens now and it didn't show up for me until the last act. Oh an I never ran into the entities not showing up issue that I did with the current version.  Overall it works a lot better. Also expect new skins for scarlet witch and iron man, plus danger room missions for all except iron man.

Very good mod! :) However, I can't seem to start a new game, eventhough I've dragged and dropped every folder to their corresponding folder. ( A few times there were the same name folders in there so one of them had to be renamed. ie filename (2), but that can't be the problem can it?) I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please help! Thanks

yes that is the problem, everything in the package needs to be as is, no renaming of folders.

Hmmm ok, should I have the folders replaced then? I'm not sure what to do now, it will take a long time to take out all the ones which have a (2) next to them. :(

Yes. It doesnt actually replace the folder, even though the computer says that, it actually merges them. But if you are really worried, then backup those folders (you can do another folder on your computer, name it something like "Original Stuff" and save them there in case you want to set everything as it was). Also remember what the Notes section said:

"The only thing that will be replaced is the character heads package, but don't worry it has every character in this edition and every XML2 mod released so far, also the main dangeroom icons are included in this pack so that every new mod and some npc have their own icons. "

Everything else is new, and wont replace anything.

Final version released. Check the first post.

Final Version includes all the updated characters previously released here http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,4051.0.html, plus I added some more skins to Iron Man and Scarlet Witch. Also added Danger Room Missions to Spiderwoman, Daredevil, Blade, Mr Fantastic, and Ghost Rider.

Also while testing this version I didn't have any crashes and the previous bugs were no longer present. I cleaned them up and got rid of unneeded things and it all seems to move smoother.

I'm 99% sure this will be the final version  ;)

Yes, you can just edit the heromarv.engb file like you would the herostat.engb file

The Marvel Universe Edition has been updated to version 1.1. Several files have been renamed to improve compatibility with OpenHeroSelect (OHS) v4.8.0:
- The herostat is now called hero_mue.engb
- The team_bonus file is now called team_b_mue.engb
- The danger room file is now called danger_mue.engb
- The mod now includes its own characters_heads package, characters_h_mue.pkgb
- The new_game script file is now called new_mue_.py
- The mod now includes its own new_game_hard script file, called new_mue__hard.py
- The exe is now called Xmen2_MUE.exe. It is now the smaller cracked exe, and it references the updated file names.
- The herostat entries and roster file have been separated out to be easily used with OHS.

It is recommended that you reinstall the game to use this new version.
