Post by: BliZZ on April 01, 2007, 02:17PM

Sorry, I don't have an XBOX 360, but I will ask around!

I'll watch torrents as well. :runaway:

Shhhh.....  Torrent is a dirty word to use.  :runaway:

Yessssh, let us stick to subtleties please. I always cringe when someone makes a post/topic that is blatantly about torrents as I like to keep a 'never mention by name' policy. But, the other mods seem not to mind, so I hold off :runaway:

PS: I have a contact (from the board!) who is willing to help, but I will keep his identity secret (unless he desires otherwise) soes the government rapeth him not

Keep looking for options though, in case, by some sorrowful turn of events, this one don't check out.

If we're looking for a solution when it comes down to getting 360 models, there's a program called 3D Object Converter.  He often updates his program to include new formats.  Give him a recent IGB, let him know we can extract the textures, and we raise money to have him support IGBs.  (The Look at me I'm trying to advertise so ban me now does cost like 30 bucks, but we'd only need a few registrations for Tommy, etc).  We ask just for export w/UV ability, and bingo -- we can re-import models into Max.  It's more of a last-ditch effort as we'd have to raise a bit of dough, but if we get stuck, that's where we can go with it.

Good! You would have to figure out how to grab the files from the disc...

yes, i will try to investigate how this is possible without having to open/mod the 360 itself

Edit: What are the files you require? I found a site that can possibly allow me to extract the files, i just need a dvd player i can take apart (which won't be hard to get): http://www.clevermod.com/index.php?article=12

The executable/sound files/team menu files/files relating to the 8 characters (packages, I guess)

There's no point in bothering with the sound files.  There's no known XMA decoder anywhere except to 360 developers.

It doesn't hurt to have them regardless.  Someone might be able to write a codec to play the file as opposed to crack it.

Thanks for the info. It will probably take me at least a week to get anything done since I am not in my home country. I'll probably get a cheap dvd player and follow the instructions in the link I posted above. I will try to extract the files, but I am wondering, after I get the files, what do I do with them if they are quite large --> this is in regards to how to post/upload them somewhere.

Edit: I suppose the character files may be small so perhaps my last concern can be disregarded.

IF you have any big files, you can try http://www.gigasize.com/index.php (1.5 Gb/file)

this thread means that maybe we will hve the DLC's soon or something?
Title: Re: Who Here...
Post by: DJay Saint on June 08, 2007, 07:24AM
No, it doesn't.  It means that we might possibly have a chance of maybe getting someone to kind of donate the content.  In no way, shape, or form did anyone say "here are the files".  We do NOT have the files, we have NOT made any mods with Raven's updated characters, and because of this, we have not or will not release any mods because we can't.  So please stop asking about the DLC.  Once we get the files, we'll let everyone know when we start converting the characters for use on the PC.

Heh, I never would have guessed it's that easy.  If Norin can't do it eventually I'll break down and buy MUAGOLD just to rip it.

Actually, I might not have to open the dvd player, so it might be easier. I was reading many forums and if you use a laptop, or something that you can put the OS to sleep, you can open the dvd drive with the emergency open (you need the computer not to realize you opened the dvd drive). For non-laptop dvd drives though there appears to be some lining up issues. I will try to explain everything if I get it to work. But, like I said, it will be at least a week because I am traveling.

Hello boys and ghouls, I believe this is the first DLC extraction confirmation. Using these instructions:
http://www.360-scene.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=104
I extracted the DLC from my MUA Gold xbox 360 game. The DLC (all the igb files etc. are kept in these two files:
muadlc_content.zip (43.571MB) and muadlc_titleupdate.zip (2.111MB)

Also, for anyone who cares, I now have a PC version of MUA, although my graphic card sucks.

Proof of extraction for all you non believers (venom skin 17604.igb using the texture program):

EDIT:
It should be noted that I tried using my laptop dvd player to extract the files using the laptop method (you will understand if you look through the xbox 360 ripping program forums), but this did not work. I actually had to open a dvd player and use a desktop pc. After I switched to the pc, it worked perfectly.

Sweeeeeeeeeet.  Yeah, if you can get that stuff upped it should take mere days to get something moving on the PC.  Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Hawkeye and Sabertooth should be particularly easy.  (technically Dr Doom too)  Venom and Hulk might take a bit longer.

Technically, tommy made a Hulk too. It was on the older body, and didn't animate as well, but it is out there.

Ohh goodie! As a recent arrival I have no idea how difficult it would be long it would take to get anything over to PC, but at least now all the skilled people here have the files to work with. My gratitude goes out to you, Norrin.
