I think red hulk was already a stupid idea. red she-hulk is even worse. Loeb has really been a poor writter.

Yeah the whole Red Hulk thing seemed so stupid, now with Red She-Hulk it just looks like a bad joke.

I never understood what Red Hulk was about as I never been that amused by Hulk to begin with but I'm guessing the red version are villains instead of heroes? Regardless it's not work the ink, new characters would work just as well if not better.

and ir's not like there aren't evil versions of the hulk to use already, like abomination, maestro etc....

It's like there's a counterpart marathon going on at Marvel. First I read of X-23, then Daken, then there's Ares, the Dark Avengers, Rulk and now Re-Hulk/She-Rulk?

It's like they are running out of ideas...

It's been going on for ages. Just look at the many clones of Jean Grey and the Young Avengers, for example.

Well Jean's only has once clone and Rachel is very different than Jean, plus all of "Jean's clones" are very popular. Like Maddie, Rachel, Cable, Nate Grey, Stryfe, etc. I think both Red Hulk and Red She-Hulk are very stupid ideas.

True. I've read that a loh' :P IMO Each character should be unique, not only in personality but also when it comes to their powers and abilities. How many characters are there that have Super Strength or Telepathy? Too many imo.

I think that Iceman is like the ONLY Marvel character who's powers are unique. All the Marvel Icons have been copied (like Hulk and She-Hulk), but I never saw a clone or child of Iceman... And eventhough Jugs get his powers from the Gem of Cyttorak, I do not find him unique.. Superstrength is not original, so ain't TK powers.

Yay I pressed quote instead of modify.

Most of the New X-Men are also pretty unique - Mercury, Elixir, Gentle, Pixie, Tag, DJ, Loa and Anole just to name a few.

some of them are indeed, but Tag, although original, had a kinda lame power. Gentle has super strength, so it's not that original. Anole is a reptile, there's Lizard, Komodo and so on. the most original ones for me are pixie, elixir and mercury.

Yeh only those three.

Surge - Storm, Thor.
Hellion- Jean, Rachel, Maddie, Cable, X-Man, Sue, Frankin
Anole - LIzard
X-23 - Wolverine, Daken

But if everyone had different powers then Jean wouldn't have telepathy cuz Prof X has it. Franklin couldn't have tk cuz Jean has it, Storm couldn't have lightning cuz Thor has it and Northstar couldn't have speed cuz Quicksilver has it. Jean only has one clone and Maddie is very different in powers and personality. So is Rachel Grey, Cable, and X-Man and you know it. How would you be able to see and wonder who would win in a fight. Hulk vs Thing. If no clones or clone powers then HUlk wouldn't be Hulk. So you get what I am saying. Anyway BLaw Iceman would have a chance if he was at the right X-Man team at the right time when Mojo abducts them.

Anole - LIzard
You're missing someone: I think it should be more like this:
Anole - LIzard, Toad
That's just my opinion, though.

And about this:

Elektra holds hers wrong, too.
This is how to hold a sai when the blade points up: http://cdn-www.expertvillage.com/showImage.aspx?site=21&fn=karate-advanced-hold-sai.jpg
Now when the blade points down: http://www.sakuramartialarts.com/v/vspfiles/images/martialweaponsaisize01.jpg
Just to let you know, it irritates me when people hold it wrong.
Imagine you're going to pin your enemies weapon in between the blade and the prong: ouch.

Hydro-Man has been known to turn his body into ice, but even still thats a bit of a stretch. I dont mind the idea of a Red She-Hulk, i just think they should at least reveal who Red Hulk is first before releasing her.

For Mercury, id say shes closer to (once again) Sandman not Mr. Fantastic. She has very similar powers, but with mercury instead of sand. Thats my opinion anyway. But yeah, she is pretty unique

Forget that too. Anyay in my opinion Cuckoos are clones of Emma (wel they really are). I understand why people like Emma but I don't see how anyone could like the Cuckoos.
Title: Re: red she hulk
Post by: Shauny7488 on July 27, 2009, 09:22PM
Im not really a fan of either. But i do like how the Cuckoos use their powers to assist other mutants.

Squirrel-Girl is another character i would consider unique.

I guess youre not a fan of Sandman?

what second mutation? the diamond form? because they do have that ability.

i like the cuckoos, powerwise they are like Emma, but they are cold and unfeeling, plus the hive mind thing has always been cool imo.

What! They have every single power as Emma. That's just lame. No really it is, I mean come on why not make them come together and make one cuccko. And the hive mind, what's that?
Title: Re: red she hulk
Post by: Shauny7488 on July 28, 2009, 01:12AM
cos if there was only one, they wouldnt have a hive mind anymore and then they would be lame

Except each one has quirks that make them different and not just a carbon-copy:

Gentle has super strength, yes, but there's no maximum on the potential he has and his body just can't cope with it. If he uses his powers too much his Vibranium tattoos won't be able to contain it and he'll die.

Anole can camouflage himself and unlike Lizard and Komodo (the latter of which used the same serum as Lizard) was a half-way point between reptile and human. Lizard is completely reptilian and Komodo can transform to and from.

Mercury, although similar to Mr Fantastic, is made of mercury and can do so much more. Mr Fantastic is just rubbery.

Surge has electrical powers, yes, but Storm and Thor use lightning. Surge absorbs ambient electricity and can channel it through her gauntlets as electrical blasts or cause herself to become super fast.

Hellion's telekinesis is a lot less refined than other character's. He can lift things up, project blasts and he can create shields but he can't pick up a paper-clip without leaving a crater in the ground.

Dust is nothing like Sandman. The only similarity is they can turn into sand. Sandman is ground-based whilst Dust is sandstorm based.

Loa can phase through objects, much like Shadowcat, but she also causes them to disintegrate.

If there was only one Stepford Cuckoo then they wouldn't be like their namesakes. Go read the Stepford Wives and the Midwich Cuckoos. I'll just give a quick summary of what they're about: Stepford Wives has a community where all the women are perfect - though the Wives were all turned into robots by their husbands. The Midwich Cuckoos (who the Stepford Cuckoos resemble a lot more) is about a village where all the women fell pregnant simultaneously and eventually gave birth to children who looked exactly the same - blonde and blue eyed. These children had a hive-mind between them and are telepathic. They also had accelerated growth, much like how the Stepford Cuckoos appear to be in their teens yet are only about two years old.

I kind of went on a bit there. :P

Though I haven't read the books, I love both versions of both movies. I love the stepford cuckos, I just wished that they weren't such identical clones of emma. I liked them better before, when they were just hive minded telepaths.

Personally, i don't mind Red Hulk or Red She-Hulk, i just think (and hope) that they introduce the character AFTER they have revealed who Red Hulk is. Cos so far theres been nothing but speculation and no official confirmation.

I think hulk should be red as its a symbol of rage. anyway they ran out of good ideas a long time ago, there hasnt been a unique or interesting character since arguably gambit.

Sage is a great character in my opinion. I know she existed before, but only got some depth recently. Before she only did cameos.

dont know much about her except her mind is like a computer or something. I dunno I just like badass offense characters, these new guys seem to be all about stealth and hacking and the like.
