Title: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Post by: ragincajun on March 28, 2010, 10:16AM
So this is the new Spidey game that's on its way out, supposed to be unveiled at Wondercon next week.  Click the link for details, but my interest is definitely piqued

Theres a trailer somewhere for it and it shows theres going to be 4 dimensions and the 2 revealed so far are present-day and noir. The other 2 must be 2099 and the dimension with the transformers crossover :P

Venom, if you find that trailer, can you post it?  I'd love to see it

EDIT: Nevermind, that was easier to find than I thought.  Here's the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTJB7g0ULpM Looks pretty cool, but the jury's still out

theres a cosmic spider-man costume (for all 4 reality's) with the pre-order of the game its on the website
http://spidermandimensions.marvel.com/
which is done in flash animation... sigh... I'm starting to dislike how much that's used...

i like the look of it... it might get me interested in spidey man games again... after that horrible mess from...spidey 3..... *shudder*, I might have liked the story and gameplay of that game...if it didn't crash and glitch every 2.5 mins..., that aside I'm having high hopes for this one and the noir outfit and reality looks pretty neat to me...

Incredibly surprised to see a videogame dusting off Noir. My guess is that the other two dimensions will indeed be 2099 and maybe Reign? House Of M?

Post by: Quentin Hex on April 07, 2010, 10:54AM
i think house of m is a pretty good guess and 2099 is almost guarantied. i'm personally pretty excited for this game

What Spider-Man Playable Heroes Identities are:
Yes, known confirmed 2 be: 2 Peter Parker's + Miguel O'Hara

If the last Spider-Man's Identities was Peter Parker or Pavirt Prabakhar (Indian). There will be confirmed 3 Peter Parker in the game. I was wondering about DLC Symbiote, Stark Armor Costume for the next release. Let's not hope it happens as MUA2 DLC does 5 month ago.

I think that the last Universe will be House Of M, but I think that 1602 and the Zombieverse are contenders too

the noir stole some moves batman aa (example: the hanging upside down thing.) But it still looks cool.

Post by: repsode on April 08, 2010, 11:58AM
Seems like a neat game. I'd wager 1602 and Zombie. I'm a lot more certain of Zombie though consideringthe vast amounts of Zombie stuff out there. Mind you the idea of the Indian Spider-Man would be cool.

Did anyone attend the Apr 3 panel on the Spider-man game? If so, how was it?
Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Post by: Quentin Hex on April 08, 2010, 01:06PM
because they have a one set in the past already, i think 2099 over 1602, and i think that we'll have house of m because it merely has so much more story-line and gameplay variety potential than zombies, and they could incorporate the other house of m versions of heros in an interesting way. but that's just my reasoning. i'd love to see someone else's reasoning though :D. also though indian spiderman might be cool, it is neither modern nor popular enough, i believe.

Post by: ragincajun on April 08, 2010, 02:41PM
My vote's against House of M, cuz there's quite a backstory to that which they would have to explain.  I think probably 2099 and Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider

Personally, I would like to see House of M. I really like the comic series and it would be kinda ineresting.
Maybe he "returns from the dead" and goes after Magneto?

I'm not so sure about the art-style of the Amazing world, but it'll probably grow on me. I am, however, ready to be disappointed should it turn south. I'm just too used to Spider-Man games failing to meet my expectations.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Dan Slott (the guy writing the story) was creating one of the universes specifically for the game, so if that's the case; no 1602, or House of M, or Ultimate, or any of the other universes they could've taken from what if stories and elsewhere.

leaked pictures seem to confirm 2099 as one of the dimensions. thoroughly unsurprising :P. i'm just curios as to the last one. unless rumors are true and it's a completely new one i believe that either house of m or 1602 will be the last one. most of the others are just not well know enough.

Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Post by: Quentin Hex on July 10, 2010, 10:02AM
i'm not feeling the zombieverse. it would be too graphic. i say its house of m (without the scarlet witch backstory, like you just picked up the spiderman house of m book) because they already have a past and future universe and he would have a unique wrestling style. of course maybe it could be 1602 because they could give it a more unique art style and it would be maybe a far enough into the past. but this is shattered dimensions, not shattered time, folks. i'm putting my money on not a time shift universe.

Except Noir is in the 1920's and 2099 is in... well, 2099.  Thus your logic is flawed :P

I just hope it's not Ultimate.  For me its too close to 616, the only difference to non-Spidey nerds is that he's a teenager (yes, I'm sure there's more differences than that, but remember not everyone in the world knows comics like we do here).

What do you think it? Can it be possible, that it will be moddable like Web of Shadows (New Skins)? BTW, as much as I saw, it's like if every story would get it's own kind of graphics, so it would need a real nuclear power plant, to make it run on the PC :D

I don't know that system requirements will be so bad.  Beenox has been doing PC ports of games for years and years, so they know how to optimize games for the PC (they did XML2 and MUA1).  As far as the four universes looking different most of that is done via shaders, so there's nothing special there as far as system requirements.

Gah, someone keeps changing the Wikipedia page to say certain costumes are only for certain Spider-Mans.  No sources have pointed that out that I can see.  If there's proof on out there that's fine, but it needs to be backed up. I'm tired of reverting those edits.

* Negative Zone Spider-Man (at Best Buy only as an early unlock)
* Spider-Armor

Tying back to what Su said, pre-order bonuses personally offend me :|

They made video games just like the real world, where the rich people get all the cool stuff and the people that can't afford it get screwed.

That's why I don't play a lot of games. I was lucky with Fable 2 and GTA IV though, as I bought Fable 2's Game of the Year Edition (With the DLC stuff included) and GTA IV's DLC being Episodes from Liberty City. So, they should only make DLC, and every kind of bonus, if they make a Gold, GOTY Edition or anything like that after it. (I hope they will make GOTY Edition for Fable 3 too, they want DLCs for that) Sorry for being off-topic. About what I read, that two, which isn't pre-order bonus, so that two were just revealed for now, but there will be more hidden costumes :)

I thought it will come out to PS3 aswell. Cause if yes, than you should say it's better then the Xbox 360 or PS3 version. Cause like this, it feels like, if the Xbox 360 would be the worst. BTW, maybe the PC will get better graphics, but one thing is for sure: On consoles, it will always be at the maximum, but on a PC, if you don't have what it needs, it won't as "more extreme and better", then the console version.

The game will come to PS3, Wii, 360, DS and PC. Not everyone can have a great PC but the people who has a great graphical pc it will be "more extreme and better" then the consoles.
I at least got great graphics, great performance, great gamepad and great windows. And thats good enough for me.

ATI Radeon HD 5850 (Directx 11 with full HD on a full HD TV/PC screen with resolution 1920x1080)
Windows 7 (Professional) 32-bit
Intel Core 2 DUO (2 CPU's)
2 Gamepads (Both of them Xbox 360 Controller for Windows)
Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

What's great is I can still run most of the new games on my machine.  I bet this will run on it too (even though we don't know the system requirements yet).

Pentium 4 3.4ghz (one of the last P4s)
4gb DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon 512mb (I forget the model)
Windows XP (I see no reason to upgrade yet, since XP uses very little CPU power)

Sure, I can't run it with cool PS3-looking graphics (usually I get graphics close to the original Xbox) but I haven't had to upgrade yet.  About the only thing I probably can't run thus far will be Crysis 2, and I've never had an interest in that series.

There isn't actually any difference between PS3 and 360 graphics. The only difference is how they use the HD and the brigthness. The PS3 has much better HD on it and have a lighter tone on games. The PC are and will stay as the best Platform to use on games but only for the users that have an extreme good PC.

I prefer it aswell, considering the fact, that it's cheaper for me (I don't use Xbox Live, it's still not functional here). Plus, the Xbox only games are better for me (Fable, Halo)

more pics from the ultimate universe and the others are at the bottom. it looks like ultimate spidey fights deadpool in some sort of twisted version of ultimate mojo-land full of deadpool-esque minions. pretty strange, and totally awesome sounding :D.

I don't know, if it was announced yet, but I hope, that John Kassir gets to be Deadpool's voice in the game. I mean, he is just a genius in being his voice. More, It would be cool, if would get to be the voice of Deadpool in the film, with some martial artist or some good shaped actor playing Deadpool. Now, that would be awesome

apparently you can unlock all of the alternate costumes in-game, but the pre-order exclusives just give you a code that means you can unlock it from the beginning
some of these costumes look pretty damned awesome too ^^

Well, yeah (though, I wouldn't pre-order it, even if it would have a bonus character and a story for it. I'm not into pre-ordering and such. make a full game, don't make us download 300000 DLCs for a complete game)

I saw the trailer today, and it's pretty cool. I liked the moves of Earth 616 Spider-Man, but, I still think that this game aint gonna be better than Web Of Shadows. I'm very anxious to play it xD
Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Post by: Optimus_Bull on August 09, 2010, 12:18AM
Actually it will be better on the graphics and the gameplay engine. In this game you will gonna feel as a true Spider-Man cause you can do so more things then the Web Of Shadows. Like balancing on rope and some other enviromental things and use your Spider sense in a whole new way in four ways and use more cooler and different controller mapping and of course the movement with the attacks. I think this will be the best Spider-Man game cause you are gonna play it as a true Spider-Man and in four ways which makes it even better.

Post by: SpiderFreak on August 09, 2010, 04:28AM
In the trailer I liked the Graphics of all, but the tendrils of the Ultimate are very strange in the trailer that I saw O.o

Anyway, do you know if you can explore the places on the game ? If can, gonna be great for sure, I always Imagine Web-slinging in a Jungle xD

Another thing that I liked is the Villians... In the Trailer Ultimate Spider-Man was Fighting Deadpool, and the Amazing Fighting Juggernaut, I would love to see Spider-man Beating him
Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Post by: Optimus_Bull on August 09, 2010, 05:10AM
You will be doing web swinging in the jungle. I saw it on a fan made gameplay on YouTube, In actual gameplay. It doesn't have free roam like the previous games but the maps are pretty big so you can expect a web swinging in the jungle, New York city in Amazing, Deadpool's weird factory, S.H.I.E.L.D HQ, New York in 2099 and New York in Noir dimension.

As in: Ultimate Symbiote Cosmic Spider-Man.

Man that Activision decide to put 4th dimensions/Ultimate in Symbiote Costume, so they will see the costume differents of which one is Amazing & which one is Ultimate. & lucky for 2099, he has 3 costumes (original 2099, Iron Spider, Spider Armor).

Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

Sorry, I badly expressed myself :(
The 360 is cheaper than the PS3, but as you said, there is material for play online and that balances the price, so consoles are equals ^^
But what do you mean by "quality" ?
Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

No it isn't. Looks like any of them came out except the oldest one's that didn't have the 3rd dimensions graphics but that was from 10 to 20 years ago. But the Wii version is quite good to. I has the same gameplay engine. The only difference is the graphics and the control input. So it's quite good to have a backup version of the for those who has only Wii and PC like me.
Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

Just like a good ol WOS. Wii has every graphic from both PS2/GC/XBOX (liked MUA1-2) & PS3/360/PC (liked RE5, REC). & i have to say that Activision has reused MUA Classic/Amazing Spider-Man (seen on intro cinematic) & Ultimate Symbiote Spider-Man & Carnage (a remastered from Ultimate Spider-Man game while in gameplay).

I played Spider-Man SD on Wii and it's awesome even if the graphics are a bit bad. But the graphics aren't that bad on Wii, it's actually really great. I played through the hole game and Negative, Iron Spider, Scarlet and Electro-Proof Spider-Man costumes is really hard to get. You need to complete all the 180 challenge's but Manga, Ultimate Red and Blue, Armor, Bag-Man, Flip-Side, 1602 and Original Noir Concept is easy to grab. I'm gonna buy it for PC later to experience the better graphics and use my Xbox 360 Controller on PC to play it.

Played the game. I done more than 140 challenges in one playthrough (it only took 8-9 hours for me). I loved the game, should have got 2 more acts, Spidey have a lot of villians, but it was good to see some people, who we don't fight too often.

My Glitches:
-Electro can be seen in SHIELD prison while try to saving the male scientist after he was found by them in the aftermath scene.
-Hobby non freefall first fight cutscene
-Noir Lv2 in Final Part before fighting Vulture: Can through the door without takedown anyone. I bet in Noir Lv1 before fight Hammyhed also as this too.
-Negative Zone & Red and Blue Web Stripes Original Ultimate Spider-Men's having a bit a same textures & models, look at their eyes & web stripes, except the colors.

Is Armor & Amazing having a same eyes.

 Look at Juggy's face. How many times he was kicked out by Amazing when his helmet removed.

About Spidey, im really pissed that AGAIN Mysterio is the final boss (yes friend or foe, im looking at you)

I had the exact same feeling! There was also same sounds in this game (for example when you pick up a spider emblem) as in Friend or Foe.

Still act 3 left to platinum medal everything (PS3) and few hidden spiders to find..

The date in the Wikipedia article is wrong for the US release.  The sources listed said "Thanksgiving week", whoever put that in decided that meant November 25th.  I know, I work on that article.  But I didn't have an actual date either, and you can't just put "Thanksgiving 2010" in the infobox, so it was the best choice.

Dunno, graphically it seems that the game is not too heavy...
What sounds strange to me is that 2,6 Ghz while Arkham Asylum was 3 Ghz but single core (minimun requirements)

They (developers) could have created a spider carnage or anti-venom skin(for ultimate) for PC.That would have been really good as manga spidey doesn't fit in ultimate.
Title: Re: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Post by: SamaelValentine on November 28, 2010, 03:16AM
Anti-Venom doesn't fit in with the Ultimate universe either. Ultimate Carnage does a bit more, and that would have been fun. The Manga version fits when it comes to art style, Spidey's age, and all that. I wonder what they did with the symbiote for that skin though...

Hello everyone!!
I'm in love with this game!! I have to complete all 180 challenges so I can play with my beloved Scarlet Spider!!

I made a quick test, I tried to extract from game data the costumes textures with texmod and I succeed!!
There are a few models, so I can't put the Iron Spider texture on Amazing universe, so I'm trying to make one by myself!
I tryed to import a random texture quickly edited with PS and everything worked fine...Stay tuned! ;)

I am becoming increasingly disappointed with Shattered Dimensions. I'm actually really temped to go back and play through WoS again. The story is cool in Shattered Dimensions and all, but the game play is so bland. Sure it's fun to sneak around as Noir Spidey, but that is only a fourth of the game. The other three universes are just mashing fast attack until the enemy blocks, then launch attacking, then, no way! MASHING AGAIN! It is just so uninteresting, and the Zip Strike attack seems really useless. I may be the only one, but even for a hard core Spidey fan, it is boring.

As I see, we can only make skin mods, nothing else to make the game different (the creators didn't even make each skin special with passives or something, compared to MUA)
