X-Voice

What is X_Voice?
X_Voice is a soundset used for menu callouts and breaks. All custom characters and teams must have their menu sounds in the X_Voice set in order for those sounds to work. Find more information on sounds and X_Voice HERE (http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,1359.0.html).

Can we update it?
No. If I may quote Teancum:

If you are a modder and created new menu callouts and breaks, the person in charge of updating x_voice now is fox456 (http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1937), so send him your new sounds via PM. He will eventually include them and release a new file updated. However, do not send him PM's regarding non-functional or non-existent sounds, requests or anything of the sort. He's not responsible for creating the sounds and bugs in the file should be reported in this very thread.

So why do I need this file again?
X-Voice has been updated again, which means that it's newer than the one in the Official Characters Pack (version 1.2).

Where does it need to be installed?
X_Voice goes in the MARVEL - ULTIMATE ALLIANCE/sounds/eng/x /_/ folder. Make a backup of the previous x_voice.zss, just incase.

Use WINRAR to unpack the files.

BLaw, thank you for compiling the x-voice file and making welcomed additions!

EDIT:  I just tried the new x-voice and Angel is not being announced.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Mr. Law would you be so kind to check the file?
I used the zsmeditor to open the file and I did not found the new callouts for Green Goblin and Sandman and Forge still is "an_forge_hero.wav"
Also can I request to check the menu_breaks for Emma Frost? so far she doesn't say anything, although she has 3 existing breaks on the x_voice. I have the feeling that the breaks should be called "break_frost.wav" just like her callout (an_frost.wav) instead of "break_emma.wav".

the name of the .wav doesnt matter, its the hash attached to that sound that matters. so pretty much they can be called whatever.

EDIT: appears I uploaded the wrong one (the one from the OC). Had to switch to my old MUA installation folder XD Try the new one out, I made sure there are only 5 parts to download this time.

Ah He will be, I'll make sure to make a list this time of stuff to do for X_Voice^^. I could've sworn I fixed it but I adressed some other issues so I might be wrong :P

Just a super-ultra rookie question but i have never been a expert at winrar.
How do you install it. Cus i dont know how to locate the next volume when its still in the rar file.

Just unpack the first one in row. Keep all volumes in the same folder.

When you download the 5 files, make sure they are all in the same folder.  Then, unpack the first one (I just double click it).  All of the rest should unpack and compile automatically.

Unlocked the files one at a time.
Then added and overite them until part 5 was in the file

No, just put all 5 RAR files in the a folder. Rightclick on the first one and choose Extract here. When it's done, cut and paste the file in the correct folder.

Ok think ive got it.
Sorry bit slow on the uptake.
All 5 files are now in a folder.
I took the first file (part1)
Extracted it
Then put it in the folder shown sounds\eng\x\_

Also I want to request a callout for Mockingbird and can you please check the menu goodbye quotes by the XML1 characters?, So far I can't hear anything from Emma, Psylocke and Beast although their sounds are already in the x-voice :(

Before i download this 5 part X-Voice pack... can someone please tell me what character menu callouts are included in this installment? The ones I'm gonna update is the one the one included in the Official Character pack + some new ones and small fixes. I yet have to discover what needs to be fixed.

BLaw,
Try to remember to fix Angel's callout.  Do you need an old version of x-voice that has a working callout for him?  The last couple versions do not.
Also, could you add callouts for Namor, Crystal and Black Bolt?

I just thought of another one -- would it be possible to "create" a callout for Falcon?  You already know I like him.  ;)

I'll send you some menu break voice files for Namor from the new voice set I'm putting together. He says "For Atlantis!" and some other stuff.

Also, if you could consider solving the callout problems for Toad and Juggy, that would be great.

Not sure about Mystique, but Angel used to have a callout in the earlier versions of x-voice.  Somehow it got "corrupted" in an update a while back.

You'd have to open x_voice.zsm in the zsm editor and follow the directions from section 5 in the "How to: New sounds in MUA / XML2 (PC and Xbox only)" thread, which can be found here:

I'm getting ready to release the updated version of X_Voice.  Here are the fixes/additions so far:

Although there have been reports of problems, I verified the hashes for Sabretooth and Green Goblin callouts and they should be working.

Do all of your sound editing that you wish, then in your favorite program save as the following format:

I've basically mastered sound modding, so if anyone wants me to make a sound pack for any of their mods just ask, i will need a copy of the mod to work with so i know which sound to assign to which power and so on

Batman and Joker ARE included in the most recent edition of x-voice.  Check out this post for a listing of all the updates:

I'd be glad to update the file, but I don't have any new voices.  If modders want to send me the files that they would like to add, it would be great.

Director Fury = MCU = 616 Fury = Ultimate Fury = Samuel L Jackson = Director Fury and so on. HUGE difference.

I believe UltraMegaMagnus added a number of my callouts to a custom x_voice, as Andersonbrazil's mod demonstrations on YouTube have had custom audio play for a couple mods that is distinctly my voice. So try to ask him here or on the Discord server.

It's been a sec I know, but does anyone now how to add a team break (what the character says just before they enter the game) to the file? Trying to to do so for :dust: I've got the ZSS editor and know how to put the sound in the game, but event ID is nuts. I tried seeing what words translated to those several numbers for some of the other breaks... no luck whatsoever.

I'll take any help you can give.

But do you have any idea how to get two break commands in? It only let me put one sadly.

To have several working break callout, you can use the following template and change the "0" value to 1 or 2, 3 etc to make another working break callout. The limit of working callout/break for each character might be the same as other hash, 9 according to Maegawa.
COMMON/MENUS/CHARACTER/BREAK_Miles/***RANDOM***/0

For example :
COMMON/MENUS/CHARACTER/BREAK_Miles/***RANDOM***/0
COMMON/MENUS/CHARACTER/BREAK_Miles/***RANDOM***/1
COMMON/MENUS/CHARACTER/BREAK_Miles/***RANDOM***/2

Each of these should have different hash.
