Title: XML2 Booster Pack
Post by: Teancum on May 31, 2007, 06:33AM
Just thought I'd let you know what I've been doing for the past week or so.  I've taken a break from MUAXbox modding and finishing Nightcrawler to work on this.  So without any further ado:

XML2 BOOSTER PACK
--35+ New skins
--4 skins minimum per character
--Psylocke (with a new skin)

Now I still need to go and get permissions from BliZZ, Iammingy, DarkMythology & Burning Rage for their work, when I hear back I should be nearly done.  All new skins have 3D HUD heads, though some use a 'generic' version (like Gladiator Juggernaut).  This is a compilation of unused XML2 stuff, stuff that was in XML1 that wasn't in XML2, MUA stuff, and community skins.  This'll basically be plug-n-play.  Just dump the files and you're golden.  I'm even including a script that runs in the first level to unlock all different skins for all unlocked characters.

SKINS: RED are unfinished
-Magneto: 80s helmet, 80s no helmet, Classic no Helmet, Xorn (by Youngblood000 - don't have a way to contact him)
-Wolverine: Animated Series (from XML1), Modern (not cel-shaded), Gladiator
-Gambit: Training Room, Animated Series
-Rogue: XML1 Ultimate, Classic Ms Marvel (yes, it's cel-shaded)
-Colossus: Training Room (not cel-shaded)
-Storm: Retro (not cel-shaded), Animated Series (not cel-shaded), XML1 Ultimate
-Professor X: khakis & black shirt, gladiator
-Toad: Gladiator
-Juggernaut: X-Men, black no helmet, Gladiator
-Pyro: Freedom Force, Classic
-Psylocke: AoA (MUA conversion), Training
-Iceman: Ultimate (w/hat), 90s, MUA Bobby Drake (not cel-shaded)
-Iron Man: Silver Centurion, Classic (not cel-shaded), Arctic, Ultimate (not cel-shaded), Stealth (cel-shaded version), Modular Armor (Infinite Captain from XML2 by Iammingy)
-Sunfire: Modern,Shiro
-Bishop: Xtreme X-Men
-Nightcrawler: XML1 (the one with no gloves)
-Cyclops: Reactivation of unused skins - no specifics yet, but his Gladiator costume for sure, Armored (reskin of Shock Trooper Captain from XML2)
-Scarlet Witch: w/cape
-Jean Grey: White Phoenix, Classic (Jim Lee), XML1 Utimate
-Sabertooth: Weapon X

-Havok: Prototype (Reskin of 8501.igb -the POW Gaurd from XML2), Ultimate (BliZZ), MutantX (Xbox Classic Human Torch reskin)

No skins for Deadpool.  It was just going to be a personal project and I plan on replacing him.  Havok'll probably replace Deadpool when he's finished.  DP's much better in MUA anyways.

Rogue's 5th skin:  Carol Danvers (Original)

As you can see, it's cel-shaded.  It's actually the Phoenix model reskinned.  I'll probably do the same with Warbird as well.

Original Toad can be found here - called as "Purple & Orange"

Scarlet Witch (gypsy w/cape)

Loose reference (http://images.wikia.com/marveldatabase/images/d/d7/Scarlet_Witch_025.jpg)

It's just a Black Queen reskin, but it's better than not having a 4th.  If anyone wants the PSD to put it in MUA let me know.  It should look much better, but mipmapping kills the quality.

Ultimate Iron Man and Doom Iron Man are in.  No MK IV costume unfortunately.  The Xbox version is only 128x128 and the PS2 textures are to tough to edit.

*Note to self, change Doom Iron Man's HUD.

Screenies galore.  This is most of what's been reactivated/ported from XML1 or MUA/community stuff.

Animated Series Gambit, Training Room Gambit, Ultimate Iron Man, Doom Iron Man
(http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/1047/gambitironmanfb2.jpg)
Ultimate Iceman (w/beret), 90s Iceman, Gladiator Jean, Astral form Jean
(http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/3830/icemanjeanme6.jpg)
Freedom Force Pyro, Classic Pryo, Gladiator Prof X, XML1 Nightcrawler (Uncanny?), Civilian Prof X
(http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7568/pyronightcrawlerprofxxz9.jpg)
Retro Storm, Animated Series Storm, Gladiator Cyclops, AoA Psylocke
(http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/9995/stormcyclopspsylockeih6.jpg)
Modern Sunfire (not based on any comic), Animated Series Wolverine, Modern Wolverine
(http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/8042/wolverinesunfireiu3.jpg)

Modern Sunfire needs some fire FX a la Human Torch on his hands.  Other than that I'm satisfied with him.

Nice, I like it more than the original one (Ultimate?)!

EDIT: Do you think he would look "cooler" if the logo were red instead of yellow? (Just a thought)

Teancum if you would like you can put these in too.  I can upload what you want.

Havok (Mutant X), Emma ("Naughty") and Emma (Diamond Form)

These can be used for Dark Phoenix or Jean Grey:

Dark Phoenix (White eyes and red costume with no black neck), Phoenix (Green with white eyes), White Phoenix of the crown is also pictured is not mine, I just converted it so you would need Darkmythology's permission first)

Dark Phoenix as Black Queen (Black Queen skin with red hair and white eyes, I can't do the bun!  :banghead:)

and Finally I also have the edit I did for the Goblin Queen based on nodoubt_jr's design.  You have my permission but please also get nodoubt_jr's.

Also here is an attempt done by me for Dark Phoenix (Dark Future and AOA) but she gets blotches on her cheeks.  Any recomendations?

PS: sorry for the long post, but it doesn't work as well without images.

Post by: iammingy on June 07, 2007, 11:33PM
The black blotches may be due to the black parts of the skin "invading" into the face/neck region. Have you tried painting more flesh off the edges of the face in the square BMP?

I was actually going reskin Xbox Human Torch.  I thought about doing Angel too but the X patch on his chest sortof ruins it for me.  I'm not doing any Emma skins in the pack, but you should totally pitch those to Emma's release thread.

I used White Phoenix :D

QuoteDark Phoenix as Black Queen (Black Queen skin with red hair and white eyes, I can't do the bun!  :banghead:)

I've only got one slot left for Jean, and it'll probably be one of the Dark Phoenix skins.  Haven't decided which one yet.

Deadpool skins won't actually be in the booster pack since I've replaced him with Havok.  The second one doesn't look too hard to skin, so I might try it.  Probably won't though.  the Gambit pic doesn't look much like Gambit, and the Wolverine pic needs a new model to have the cowboy hat.  Thanks for the suggestions though!

I suggest to do skins from X-men the movie. It would be great!
 And i want these  :nightcrawler: Nightcrawler skins:

P.S. These is ultimate gambit and it's realy bad that you replaced Deadpool with Havok.  :(
Title: Re: XML2 Booster Pack

Deadpool sucks in XML2.  His voiceovers are really quiet and he's tons, TONS better in MUA.  I have both so I wanted and actual X-Man in XML2.

2 posts and not a single please. If I made skins I would be pretty annoyed.

But I got to give it to you, brokeback-Wolverine is hilarious!

Edit: I was refering to BlowFly, for the record.

Yeah, I'm actually done doing skins except for a few last favorites of mine.  After that I'll release the final version of the booster pack so I can get to work porting it to Xbox.

Kid Deadpool should have 'canthrowally on' and only be used with Juggernaut. At the begining of every area, Juggs grabs him, throws him off from the Helicarrier, Mandarin's Palace, Doom's Castle and so on. THAT would justify having the little brat around (or somebody please make a skelly to replace him with Widdle Wade!)

OK, stupid hour is over.
Title: Re: XML2 Booster Pack
Post by: BliZZ on June 22, 2007, 05:37PM
Do NOT "bumb" threads that you posted in mere hours ago.

Make sure there are a proper amount of line breaks between entries in herostat, and try again.

If you continue having problems, post the contents of the file you are trying to compile under the [ code ][ /code ] tags. (without the spaces, of course) Then we will be able to determine your problem and help you. As it stands, posting "i have a problem how do I fix?" is meaningless to us, as we cannot determine where your problem derives from without your files.
Title: Re: XML2 Booster Pack
Post by: Gevth on June 22, 2007, 05:58PM
Try to compile the herostat in a folder where there is no file named "herostat.engb", then copy it and paste it in the data folder. Maybe that's the problem.

Why am I answering a herostat question in a Booster Pack thread?
Title: Re: XML2 Booster Pack
Post by: Gevth on June 22, 2007, 07:31PM
What's your mother language? Cause if it is Spanish, I would be actually able to understand what you're trying to say (if its English, you should work on it). Of course, that's just me, and I'm not one of the guys who know best all the technichal stuff here.

Y es "bump", no "bumb", por si acaso.

So, you expect people to help you when you have problems, yet you're not willing to make a minimal effort to ask your questions as clear as possible?

Well let's put it this way.  We don't really understand you.

Cuz when you type leik this with no periods or commas its really hard to make sense of what ur typing can you see what I mean its really tough to understand

Are you running any extra characters?  I'll just build a new friggin' herostat.  I just have to know who you've got installed.

Bah, I can't get this working. I unzipped all the folders to where they should be, twice, and it still doesn't work. The only thing I added was that Sabretooth stat-point fix, would that interfere with it?

"Doesn't work" as in "doesn't show up"?

These are all just skins. So, they should have nothing to do with the stat-points, I think.
