Title: New XML2 NPC

continuing my love for npc (they are easier for me to do, only need to worry about 4 powers, and they dont crash on me). Now i'll be working on giving powers to some of the NPC that appear in XML2 without powers or with one or two powers.  The only thing that sucks is the little amount of skeletons, luckily i might be able to use some of the unused ones from XML1.

First up the Three In One (also know as the Stepfor Cuckoos), I added two new powers. One is too duplicate so that all three sisters can assist in a mission (the other 2 are dead, as well as the 1000s seen in Phoenix:Warsong).  The second is a mind control power (Emmas mind control to be precise), a love spell.

Angel NPC

i got rid of his feather shooting powers because they dont work with metal less Angel.  Gave him Storm's Hurricane powers, flaps his wings and causes a wing storm. I added a laser gun bolton that shoots energy. Needs a new 3d head.  Also got rid of scale factor so that he looks the same size as other X-Men.

Only in the Danger Room.  He's not available through the game.  I'm sure nodoubt did that because he plays a very big part of the game as a NPC.

This Angel sucks! In MUA hi's better. I think it's easy to port him from mua.

Angel was just done quickly, theres nothing much i could really do, all he has is wings and a healing factor.  All the npc characters im doing are meant to either be used in the dangerroom to fight against or use as a fighter, or to be hex into a saved game so that you have more X-Men to fight with (the character limit is 21, but with NPC there is no limit, so you can put the ones you want and hex them in when ever you want to switch up your team, it doesnt take more than a couple of seconds to change a name)

I agree ti si vary ez to prot an Angel from MUA when MUA charz kan hve 2 skelys, wereaz XML2 chars cna only have 1 skely. Super ez! This Angle sukz!

4 powers: power blast, beam blast, energy shield, super punch
for some reason his 3d head and hub head are not appering, which is weird cause they do exist and they are defined in the packages.

could i give you a little tip you should qive some ice atacks for quicksilver, like ice man mist atack will work for his mist ability.

anybody know if its possible to nullify an enemies power, to temporarly take it away? i wanted to give Forge the ability to shoot someone with an neutralizer gun and strip them of their powers, kind of like the gun that took Storm's powers away back in the 80s.

there are so many possibilities for forge techonology, army training, magic. but im going to go off fury, he seems to have some awesome powers

thanks boreman i'll look into that.  I'll also look at Burning Rage's Emma Mod, maybe i can reverse what he did there so other characters taht are shot, lose there powers for a couple of seconds.

lol, i wanted to give give Selene the power to shrink others, but i couldnt figure it out. Everytime i used the power, Selene herself would shrink, it was actually kind of fun running around (very slowly) at 1/3 of the regular size.  Ok anyways, enough with my stupid story, back to forge.

About the "remove powers" stuff: you know those boosts that raise the skill lvls of powers? Maybe trying negative values could make interesting results (most probably crashing-the-game interesting, but worth trying anyway).

Hmm... I think every power has different base number of skill points... so it might not always work!?!? I am not sure about setting a very large value that goes beyound the max number of skill points though...

If the Ghost Rider's "Fear" attribute isn't MUA-specific, then you can sort of modify it a bit into the nulifying power you want.

i never installed his Polaris mod, i remember he said that it wasnt complete and at the time she was just Magneto with renamed powers, so i dont really know what he did.  This npc uses a power from the Enchantress, a power from XML1 Boss Magneto, a power from Apocdummy, and Stryfe's telekinetic power.

The Polaris mod I did is basically Magneto with boobs.  It was in the first post of that thread.  I never got around to giving her unique powers and such.

forge update, i got his power nullifying to work, it uses the same affects as Nick Fury's radar thing, its pretty cool, especially when it were's off cause all the character you nullifying immediatly attack you with their powers.  Some of his guns are working weird, like the riffle disappears even if im holding the button down and he's still shooting.

Also beam bolt says this "beambolt = fx03", what exactly is fx03?

notes: uses nick fury's skeleton, bolton and powerstyle (thanks to Teancum for the files). 3d head is a recolored XML1 Nightcrawler head, if someone can make it better please share. Rifle acts a little weird but its still good.

Power nullifier works takes away most players powers, well except allies and some bosses.  So far ive tested it out and it works on minor minons, Archangel, Bastion, Stepford Cuckoos, all playables used in Dangeroom.  It did not work on Holocaust.

also side notes if anybody has any ideas on what i should do with the other characters im doing let me know.

Everything looks good.  A suggestion: For quicksilver I know there is a mod for him in MUA under the Avengers pack.  Maybe you can get some ideas from that.  Also you can always use the move that apocolypse steals from him.

thanks i forgot about that mod.  So far for Quicksilver i only had two ideas the power Apocalypse steals and maybe something like Cable or Iceman's slowing down of people around them, he would be moving at normal speed while everyone around him would be superslow.

Selene - shrinking victims, teleporting which we see in game, maybe spawning a witches coven, lifeforce draining

Blink - XML1 Nigthcrawler

Vindicator - some fire moves, i think that was her power when Alpha Flight was relauched the second time

so far those are one's ive sorta planned out.  the rest i dont know.

Known Powers:

Life-Force Absorption: by psionically draining the life forces of other human beings into herself, by physical touch. If she drained a person's entire life force from him or her, the victim dies and the victim's body crumbles into dust. It is unknown how often Selene must drain life force from another human in order to survive. It is known, that great expenditure of power causes Selene to age, but she can rejuvenate herself by absorbing more life force. Selene will not age as long as she maintains her supply of absorbed life force. (Dark Phoenix has Absorbtion)
       Psychic Vampire: If Selene drains only part of a victims life force, Selene achieves a measure of psychic control over her victim's mind. Through unknown means, Selene can cause a human being to become a psychic vampire like herself, but be subordinate to Selene's own will.
(Possible side effect to the drain)

Physical Enhancement: Selene has physical strength, stamina, speed, and reaction time that are all several times greater than those of a normal woman.

Superhuman Strength
Superhuman Endurance
Superhuman Reflexes
Superhuman Speed: ability to momentarily move at speeds rivaling those of Quicksilver. (Stolen power of Quicksilver)

Shadow-Morphing: allowing her to dematerialize or use solid tendrills of darkness to manipulate objects

Telekinesis: her telekinetic abilities gives her complete psionic control over inanimate objects. (Jean Grey's Move)

Telekinetic Animation: can cause inanimate objects to move according to her will by projecting part of her absorbed life force into them.

Inanimate Disintegration: She can cause inanimate objects in her presence to disintegrate. She cannot, however, rearrange the atomic or molecular structure of matter. (Scarlet Witch Combustion)

Pyrokinesis: could psionically generate and project intense heat and flame from and around her body or direct it at certain distances. The exact radius remains unknown. She was also able to manipulate flame created from other sources and could magnify their intensity or snuff them. The flames Selene generated could also be illusory in effect; for example, she could focus the power on an object making it appear to be on fire while it was not being damaged by the flames at all.
(We got lots of fire moves in XML1, XML2, and MUA)

Selene instinctively created a psionic force field about her entire body that protected her from the effects of the heat and flame she created and from other sources as well

Telepathy: capable of displaying various psionic feats with the minds of others including reading and communicating with thoughts over vast distances. (Boosts from our psychics)

Psi-Screen: possesses a psychic mental shield to protect her from psychic attacks. (again)

Mental Bolts: can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness. (professor x's move)

Hypnotic Trance: can induce a momentary hypnotic trance state in people around her. Often used along with her speed to create the illusion of teleportation. (Dark Phoenix's Space Warp Inferno)

Immortal: her aging process is greatly retarded and she can apparently regenerate injured or missing cells from even near-fatal injuries.

Rapid Healing: ability to endure injuries (within unknown limits) without lasting harm or even feeling pain such as knife wounds. (We got that on a few characters)

Sorcery: possesses considerable magical abilities, having gained a great deal of mystical knowledge over the millennia. The number of magical effects that she can create has yet to be catalogued  (Scarlette Witch and Enchantress)

Wow that is long!  Hope you don't mind.  I wouldn't mind looking up other charcters for you to give you some ideas.

PS.  I was planning on replacing the homing beacons with battles.  One was Goblin Queen.  Another was Dark Phoenix.  And another was the Hell Fire Club.  What do you think?  Do you think it is even possible?

no i dont mind. lol at first i was happy that npc in the dangeroom only had 4 active powers, but now im sad cause i want ot give them more powers.  Oh well i'll guess i can add more powers when i make them fully playable characters.  Dazzler is going to be hard, i dont want to make her too much like Jubilee.

that homing beacon idea sounds cool, kind of like the psp version had extra flashback missions.  But i have no idea how that would go, i can barely make these charcters, lol.  Good luck.

But if we make them into bosses we can add more than 4 right?  So with those extra abilities you don't need to make them playable but can make them powerful bosses.  Maybe we both can do something with this homing beacon/flashback thingy if you are interested.

yep i was going to mention that, only four show up in the dangerroom but they can have more (hell Pyro XML1 had eight), so if we wanted to make them powerful and give them more than four power it can be done. They would all be playable, but they could attack us with all of them.

Back to these characters.  Shaw will be difficult.  He absorbs kinetic energy, which is like a boost.  But as far as physical powers maybe a few bruiser mylees and he also has enhanced speed (boost).  He constantly grows in strenghth.  

Kitty will be near impossible with phasing.  However she has excellent martial arts skills and had trained with wolverine I believe.  (Use Electra (MUA) and wolverine as a base)

Phasing might happen, theres a script for the prof x room in act 5 for phasing in and out random objects, that might give us a way of making her phase in game.  Other than that, yeah some ninja powers. Electra could be good, i just need her xbox stuff.  I'll go looking for that stuff so i dont have to bother anyone.

Powers and Abilities
Powers
Sound Conversion: ability to transduce sonic vibrations, which reach her body into various types of light. This ability seems to operate over a great range of frequencies, including the audible spectrum (35 to 16,500 cycles per second), and a great variation of sound pressure levels regardless of the complexity, dissonance, or randomness of the sound. For example, a car crash and a symphonic passage of equal duration will both produce usable music incoming acoustic vibrations. Dazzler, however, does prefer the sound of music, particularly that which is rhythmically sustained. Not only is music more pleasant to her ears, but the steady beat of popular music provides a more constant source of sound to convert. The Dazzler's potential to convert sound to light is unlimited. She cannot use any sound produced by her own body unless it is amplified, such as singing into a microphone and absorbing the sound from speakers. (Maybe those waves from magneto or your havok and polaris can mimic sound waves being amplified)

Sound Release: ability to release the absorbed sound in one burst. (Recolor mental dart and professor x's p5_charge (from my mod).  Use her earth punch as animation)

Photokinesis: Dazzler possesses a body-wide energy field that controls the energy levels of the outer electron shells of her body in such a way as to cause the cascaded release of photons. In effect, this field is lasing, with the apparent efficiency of a laser (99.9%). The released energy is far greater than the incoming kinetic energy and therefore must involve an outside energy source, the nature of which is unguessable. Left undirected, the Dazzler's light will radiate from her body in all directions, producing regular flashes of white light (white light is a mixture of all portions of the visible spectrum). By conscious control over the light she produces, she can control its direction, frequency (color), amplitude (intensity), and duration. Apparently the Dazzler must consciously or subconsciously will the light to leave her body. Otherwise, light would "leak" from her at all times, even when she is asleep or unconscious. She can produce numerous effects with the light she converts from sonic vibrations. She can simply cause a bright glow all about her body. She can create very simple patterns out of rays of light like circles, squares, triangles, and stars. She can create a pulse of light on the order of several thousand watts seconds of power, which temporarily blinds people with its brilliance. She can create a chaotic cascade of sparkling lights and colors that severely upsets other people's equilibrium, or a pulsating strobe-light effect. She has learned to manifest her light as:

Lasers: By concentrating, the Dazzler can generate a coherent beam of light, approximating a laser beam, with which she can cut through virtually anything. Rocket Flight: ability to fly in a straight line by directing her blasts beneath her (a slide like magma and iceman)

Protective Forcefield: ability to create a protective force field about herself with laser light that can deflect or vaporize oncoming projectiles. (Boost, Ms. Marvel has something like it)

Light Mist: A glowing or hazy almost foglike effect that obscures the surrounding area
Light Immunity: her body, especially her eyes, shields itself against any injurious effects of her light transducing abilities, and against those of bright lights in general

Sound Immunity: her ability to transduce sound also protects her from being deafened by loud noises.

Banshee, he is another tricky one.  His screams could be mimicked the same way I said dazzler's amplification was.  His sonic shield could be a boost.  And Vocal Disorientation and Vocal Trance could be a special moves like the white queen with the sonar like effects.

Sonic Scream: ability to shatter solid objects with a sonic scream
Flight: ability to fly at subsonic speeds by using his voice to propel him through the air.
Sonar: can use his sonic powers as a form of sonar (Sound Navigation and Ranging). By sending out a precise, pure note and listening to the returning, altered wavefront of the note, he can evaluate his surroundings in total darkness with varying degrees of resolution.
Sonic Shield: can tighten sound waves around himself or others near him, making a barrier against outside attack.
Vocal Disorientation: ability to change someone's balance, by affecting their equilibrium using his sonic scream
Vocal Trance: ability to subtly influence people's subconscious mind by changing the tones and vibrations of his voice using sonics
Vocal Unconsciousness: ability to affect the fluid in someone's ear causing the person to go unconscious.
Sound Immunity: Banshee's hearing and equilibrium are unaffected by his power or other similar abilities.

Banshee, for him im thinking of using Magneto's and Havok's ring powers, to look like screaming.  For skeleton its either going to be Cyclops, he touches his head, it could look like he's doing ot scream.  Or Shadow King who has a breath attack, sicne he already sticks his head out it could look good.

Sounds cool.  For the whole script thing for the homing beacons it is possible to edit the script.  I have a question in on the knowledge base board for making custom battles.  Maybe if worse comes to worse they could be new danger room missions, I am pretty sure that is editable.

Teancum just gave me an idea.  Replace the beacons with dangerroom disks for the different battles.  Maybe we can add a different section under special.

Once I finish Professor X, I will put Havok on hold and do a few loadscreen and comic igbs that I said I will do (they only take minutes now that I got the hang of it.)  So then I can start on the Goblin Queen and an Enemy Emma Frost.

Heather's powers come from a modified version of the suit her husband designed. This suit uses geothermal effects rather than electromagnetic effects. her suit also contained all of the weapons that her old electro-magnetic suit contained, except for her electro-magnetic based attacks. The only difference is that they tap into two different power sources.

* Flight: able to reach speeds above Mach 1

* Superhuman Durability: wears a body armor that projects forcefield capable of withstanding injury to a certain extent (boost)

* Heat Manipulation: the suit absorbs various forms of heat and is capable of projecting it as blasts. (ironman or sunfire)

* Hydrokinesis: ability to generate water in the form of hot steam or cooled spring water (dunno about this one)

* Geokinesis: ability to affect volcanic and seismic activity, such as a lava geyser or clouds of ash. (Magma)

plasma manipulation (Havok,Ironman) , ultrasound (wavy moves), and graviton beam (Magneto) from the base Guardian suit.


Abilities
Heather is an excellent combatant. She also conducts research with her husband.


Strength level
Normal human female with moderate regular exercise; increasing to 25-75 tons while wearing her battlesuit.


Weaknesses

I hate to be such a bugg! But i have to quick question i had all the npc unlock before but then I erase that and started from scratch. I am almost done with the game again but for some reason archangel and jubilee don't show up anymore do I have to past the whole game to unlock them? And how can i make you polarsi be able to fly, I tried just adding it on her npc but it didn't work.

im currently working on Selene, and its being really difficult. First the teleporting powers all look really weird on her, Dark Phoenix fire teleport leaves her invisible.  I got her to shrink people, but they have to be near her.  The weird thing is Rogue's Draining Ability, i have never gotten it to work with Rouge, she never steals power.  But now as Selene's life draining power, she does steal your power and is able to project it herself.  Weird, does anybody have trouble with rouges power stealing ability, or is it just me?

just wanted to mention that these npc are on hold for now (well except for Sebastian Shaw). Ive figured out why the mods I made crashed the game, it was my saved games which were so confused because i kept replacing Pyro wiht different people that it would just crash the game if it wasnt a character it recognized. It was my fault, but now that i replaced Sabretooth with Magma, it no longer crashes. So i'll be working on Magma (almost done), then Jubilee, and maybe work on some of the characters here so they can be fully playable mods.

Let me know hwat you guys think.  With npc we have a lot of options since so far theres no limit on npcstat and we can just hex them in.  Or would you like a lot of mods, that well some cant be used cause of the character limit.

Oh ok thanks.  I was looking at your npc's to see how they work and will start Goblin Queen tomorrow.  I may uses the ability for Selene's teleportation because Maddie I believe has the ability to teleport into the astral plane and come back in the psysical world at a different spot.  She will have some abilitiess like Jean and Dark Phoenix.  I will be doing some more research to find moves that fit her.

i know during inferno she could transfer people into demons (she did it too Jean's parents), so what you can do is have her be able to mind control people (Emma's power), but have them switch into a demonic skin when she takes over them.  You can have her and a bunch of demons running around with her. no that last one is a death effect, when she is killed instead of just falling over she disappears with a little fire left behind.  Teleporting is weird, i copied a lot of stuff from Nightcrawler, so im not sure what is needed and what i didnt need. For example Dark Phoenix's teleporting power left Selene invisible, so i just use Nightcrawlers ability adn copied anything over that had teleporting in the name and was not a power.

for a skin change no.  For spawning dupes yes, that power calls up 3 Selene dupes wearing different customes.  So yeah you can use it as a base for Madelyne to call up demons, but they would just be a bunch of Madelyne's in demons custome. In other words, the demon dupes would have the same powers as Madelyne.

great ideas, so are you making a npc or a fully playable character.  Cause she looking to be one powerful boss, cant wait to fight her.

Ok I got her ps done.  Now I just have to proof it and get the effects I need for her abilities.  She has 2 xtremes (one with mental damage, one calls 4 demons), 3 boosts, and many attacks.  Incidently, I found out why professor x doesn't go invisible and will fix that when I get a chance.

ok im doing Dazzler, and this is what i got so far.  So kind of laser beam, maybe somethign from Ms Marvel. Optic Blast, i remember she use to do this ones in a while, and so far we have no girls with optic blast. A light slide. A big light attack that causes confusion and pain. and i need one more, i'll keep looking but any help would be appreciated.

I would give her jubilee edit fireworks atack just change the color abit so you would'nt notice is jubilee's.

yeah thats the problem, i dont want her to look anything like Jubilee.  I could do a light force field, but ive already use a forcefiled with other characters and Jubilee already has a light forcefield.  I'll keep looking but thanks for the help, also thanks matt the research you did on her power is really helping.

PS: Great work with these. I'd suggest that another source of these characters could be the "dark" versions in MUA, with the regular skins bolted on. Don't know how many new handlers there are in MUA that weren't in XML2, though.

i started on Dazzler, but it looks too crappy at the moment, the slide looks like a mess and the other powers (well except optic blast) are way to general.  I might just put her off and do her last, i know she is just a npc but i would like her to look awesome.

I seach and seach for that code nothing, the only way I know is if you download a save game that has everything unlock. Load the game then exit and go back to the main page dangeroom and there will all be unlock.

now he uses a move that increase his attack rating and defense, and his speed.  Now he runs hella fast, like he should.  He already moves faster than other characters, but not as fast as Quicksilver should.  The boost last a minute and waste very little power, so you can keep using it after it runs out to have him be at highspeeds the whole time. Its really fun.

Shadow King has already been converted, the only power not working is spawning flying demons.  Feel free to use any of the XML1 characters ive converted, Blob and Avalanche are awesome.  Sure use whatever.

ok up next Heather - Vindicator, her green suit powers seem to be a mix of water and fire.  So planned powers: flight, force field, fire geysure, water geysure causing freezing, and super fiery punch.

he was new and pretty lame, he was war. Past Wars include Abraham Kieros, Hulk, and Deathbird, those might be better and easier chooses.

Shadowcat is on hold, im trying to figure out if i can make phasing work.  The Black King is also on hold cause matt is working on a Hellfire Club and i dont know if he wants me to do him or if he wants to do him.  I converted some MUA NPC characters, and im going to do Lilandra and Binary, i think those are the only X-Men related NPC characters in that game.

currently updating Psylocke, and so far i have two new powers Telekinetic Spear and Telekinetic Whip.  Working on maybe one or two more.

edit: she only had room for 3 powers, so her last power is Ninja Kick. All are telekinetic based so they break boxes and sh*t like that.  Just need to recolor effects and boltons and we are good to go.

Nice! Hey nodoubt_jr how did you made mutiple man copys have different skins, could you please show me? Also I had a little question, in some levels theres a character that will help you out for example pyro, right before you go fight abyss, anyway my question is is it possible to maybe have a way for a fith character to be following you and and helping you out?

ok for multiple man to have multiple skins, you have to have him springing up many multiples at the same time, like this from his powerstyle

the skin part defines what the dupe custome is, so you can pick whatever you want.  If you want many just copy that, change the skin number and the tag number so it knows its a completely different dupe.  so you would do like this changing the skin number and the tag number as it goes.  I had 15 in one, so all at once he would duplicate fifteen of himself.  Also if you want a limit of lets say 15 dupes and the original, you would add to each entry limit = 16.

just wanted to mention to those Quicksilver fans and those that downloaded the NPC, that once im done with my current project, i will be getting to work on a Quicksilver mod.  He will be based on the npc, but with added powers and xtremes. Im pretty much have him planned out, just need to finish up my current project, than i'll get started (although it make take longer than my other mods, as i am going on vacation next month). Im pretty sure i figured out a way to keep him in constant fast movement.  Cant wait :)!

These were meant to be fun characters to add to the npcstat to use in the main menu Danger Room.

I was doing these because I could not figure out how to do a full mod at that time and figured I could at least contribute some npc's for fun.

I'm going to lock this thread. I can do full mods now. There's a npc limit on the game (you can only add 2 more). Most of these npc's already have full mods. And I've abandoned these. So I don't really see the point of this thread anymore.
