Next up angel.  I am taking a break from the dangerroom until I can crack how to add an additional boss, which sux cause I already made goblin queen and dark phonix as bosses.  But anyway angel will have a charging attack from flight, one that is radial like that for an xtreme, healing factor, transfusion boost, wing flap knockback, and the 2 wind abilities from storm.  He is a difficult one to think of abilities for but then again I can always add more melees.

can you give him an ability that adds a sword for enhanced piercing melee for a certain amount of time?  He weilds a sword at times in the comics- just an idea.

I was actually thinking of that, I was trying to decide whether he should always have it, like deadpool, or sheave it when done.  Decisions, decisions, decisions... Thnx for the suggestion though.  I have to start looking for a sword bolton cause I think deadpool has it in his skin.  Maybe nightcrawler, or that may be in his skin too.

how about naming his Xtreme Gaurdian Angel, or at least give him a power named that which either shields his allies or gives them regenerating health?

as for the sword... it may interfere with some of his melee and powers- see if it could be added on during the power as a bolton.

theres no sword bolton in XML2, everyone that uses a sword has it as part of their skin.  theres a nightcrawler sword bolton but its actually a bat.  A sword attack would be great, also maybe a laser or guns.  I agree he is really hard, basically all he has is wings and a healing factor, i just needed 4 powers for his npc and it was hard, lol.  Hopefully someone with the Xbox or Ps2 version of the game can rip one of the sword boltons, it would come really handy for this character and a couple of future characters that im going to work on.

I have idea for boost! If you or someone else can do boost to get bigger his wings and that would give him more speed in flight and dmg to wing attaks. And he needs attack like Rouges torpedo strike.

I don't know about making the wings bigger, but the speed increase is very possible.  I actually added the torpedo strike it was the chaging attack I was talking about.

Angel is coming along nicely.  He has 5 powers, 2 boosts, and one xtreme so far.

Basically the xtreme and 1 power was already present.  Nodoubt added one of storm's wind abilities and I liked it so much I added the other (he is hard to find moves for anyway).  I also added torpedo strike, which I have to figure out how to make it look right.  The boosts are transfusion and humming bird essence.  Transfusion is basically heal, but I want to add different animations.  Does anybody know about what the bleed animation is called?  I want to change it to that.  Humming bird essence puts gives him basically a big cafine boost...   :D  (movement speed up) and also adds to his AR. 

I also want to add passives (one being healing), another xtreme (which will probably be revitalize with an added bonus), another power, and maybe another boost. 

PS I am looking into his feathers attack to see if I can salvage it in any way, but I doubt it.  It sux that there are no sword boltons separate from skins in XML2 cause it would rock.  I am not too familiar with boltons, are they basically an IGB I can edit?  If so can I maybe edit the bat thing nightcrawler has?  I also have the ps2 versions of xml2 and MUA, can I rip a sword bolton via my computer from the ps2 disks?

yep boltons are igbs, and it depends.  For example i cant see wolverine's claws in texture finder, but other boltons you can, i think you can see the bat in texture finder.  Theres also a spear, you could have a spear attack.  Yeah a sword bolton would be great.

I fixed torpedo strike's animations.  Now he charges at the enemies at short distances.  He also now has 2 passives: Advanced regeneration and Wing Mastery.  I noticed, however, he doesn't fly by hitting jump twice.  Just a minor fix probably, I will look into it tomorrow.  Also I may be abot to salvage the feather thing from archangel by making it a gust move.  I doubt there is a blind status, so I may either make it make the enemies get confused or nullify them.  I just want to recolor his former feather attack, transfusion, and xtreme (I want it to look more like gusts coming towards the enemy.  After the abilities are done on to icons, skins, and Huds.  Oh well, more tomorrow.

I still can't get him to fly!  What makes a character fly anyway?  I may have to add it to the powerstyle.  I will try that.  If anybody knows of any other suggestions please tell me.  By the way, he is almost done powers wise.  Just one more slot to replace his feather attack, which if I can get flight to work I will use something with that.  Anyway his 2nd extreme is Advanced Restoration, which restores characters to max HP and gives them the ability to recover from mortal injury (death) once durring the boost.

Yeah thats done, I just coppied it from Jeans herostat for that.  If I remember correctly Dark Phoenix had something in her ps file.  I'll see what it is.

yup it was the powerstyles.  The weirdest thing.  No other characters besides dark phoenix and angel needed it in their powerstyles.  Maybe any additional flight characters need it to fly?

angel is pretty much done.  He was a lot of work with his combos.  It seems that he was incapible, so I added them back in by reordering his strikes.  It looked weird when he struck wings first.  Anyway attack ground and heavyattack2 freeze him up so they were removed.  All other combos should work.  I got rid of the feathers power and replaced it w/ another charge attack.  I just want to redo the power animations of the boosts, and maybe athe menu animation upon selection, he needs something he just stands there.  ea_power1 and ea_power3 are the same so I will change one of them.  I will post screen shots and powers. 
Question, do you all want him once the powers are ironed out or after I add more skins?  As of now he only uses one.  If I release before skins are done, I can just release an update.

theres a couple of skins already done for him i believe, theres the AOA one and http://thegamersjournal.com/rpg/pc/xmenlegends2/skins.php has two Angel ones.  Also i believe Teancum was working on his original custome.  These could be good alternatives.

10910 is the feathered wings.  Not the metal ones, so that'd work out as long as he's not using the Horseman skin.

That was using skin 1002, was there a way I can bolt on feathered wings?  If so please do tell.  Also would quicksilver's hair be right?  I haven't seen the skin for him to know, or just don't remember it.

Yeah, 10901 is Angel without wings and 10910 are his wings. The problem is that it would bolt feather wings onto ALL skins, including his Horseman of Death skin.

Just drag the folders to the XML2 folder and drop.  For the characterheads package and herostats engb, text files have been provided for you to compile into your game's files.  Please note that you should back up anything before writing over it!!!!

PS ignore the thing about character_heads_PC, that was a mistake cause I'm lazy and just copied and modified Goblin Queen's readme.

I just tested the mod. It's COOL! But you should fix Aerial Blitz (it's slow and he fly only one second) fix animation and please replace Cyclonic Thrust with somethig cooler.In MUA he has Heal he should have it in XML.
And realy don't like this things.

You can't fix that.  It's part of the model.  Although the third skin has it's own model, not sure why a reskin is being used.  (matt -- the skin should be 10903)

Yep, 1003 has no wings.  It is actually the one used to make xtreme havok.  I actually considered ditching the Angel of Death, but I feel that it is too much a part of the character to omit.  So basically the only skins I can reskin are 1001 and 1002 if I want to keep his Death skin.  As for the animation he has a lack there of.  If I can get a sword bolton that one or humming bird may be replaced.  But basically I went with what I had.  The other two dive animations he has are messy too.  The first is even shorter and makes no contact and the other goes for a second stops and goes again to finish.  He actually has heal, it is called transfusion.  I didn't want to call it heal because he heals other people by transusing his blood into theirs (seen multiple occasion, but the one on the top of my head is an instance where he does it to emma in Phoenix Endsong).  Basically he had a lack of possible moves cause he has regeneration and wings.  I had to take out the feather blade projectile because it only looked right for his metalic wings (which is only one of his skins).

Personally if I had him installed I'd ditch the horseman of death skin anyways, since you fight the horseman, but that's more my personal opinion.

ok just tried it out and it looks great, awesome skins, Xfactor one is my favorite.  But ive run into a problem, when im not in control of Angel and he is on my team he constantly uses his xtreme, from the heavens, as an attack.  I just used him on my team and he did it twice without me controlling him.  Also is Humming Bird essence suppose to make him faster, kind of like Psylocke and Gambits boost make them faster?3

edit: i think i might be having problems with him and the xtreme, cause it has reference to the ai.  I also cant make him fly but thats probably cause i need to start a new game.

Are you sure? this are the skins from the mod

   skin_astonishing = 05 ;
   skin_civilian = 06 ;

   skin_weaponx = 01 ;
The skins that come with it are 1005, 1006, 1007, and 1004
But I think 1001 is Archangel Skin?

I didn't put 1001 and 1002 in the mod because they are already in the game.  But since you deleted it I will upload it to you.  By the way I believe that is called the Horeseman of Death skin, I believe Archangel is the codename he took after that whole thing, but I could be wrong.  Anyway here it is:

Update soon: Angel

After I finish Enchantress I will update him.  He will have his hummingbird boost changed to a sword boost (allows you to use sword with extra melee damage for the time of the boost).  I will also play around with the charge move he has (the one that is so short distance).  Now that I know how to do a chain of animations I can make him fly up and dive bomb.  The only problem is I have to identify which animation is his liftoff.  I will also use nodoubt's advice to prevent the ai xtreme usage.

Nodoubt:  Would you mind if I use Magik's sword coloring from your mod (it looks like what angel would have as well)

yeah no problem, go ahead and use Magik's sword.  And using "handler = ch_rogue_torpedo ;" may help make his charge move longer.

Ok I played around with angel and he now has a sword and I threw out the torpedo move for a diving torpedo.  I just have to iron out a few kinks in the animations and he is ready for release.  The only big problem I have to research is how to get him to punch instead of kick for his attacks.  I even tried changing his fightstyle to hero and he still kicks.  I guess I have to play with it a bit.

Ok I tried every fightstyle for him and it seems that his skeleton only kicks.  So unfortunately a sword is impossible to do.   :mad:  I will have to put back in the boost that he originally had.  On the other hand the new move looks good.  Guess you win some and you loose some.

You need to use xmlbcui and decompile the character_heads.PKGB file.  Then edit it and put the characters' numbers over the ones you replaced.  If you used the open spot just add another entry in.  Then recompile it. 

PS.  The file is found in Activision\X-Men Legends 2\Packages\generated\maps\package\menus

OMG!!! Mystique's Xtreme Terrorist Bomber looks so cool! BTW, maybe you can recolor the green toxic clouds to orange or red to make it look more like you're shooting a grenade than a serum bottle.

angel bugs:
when i used winged fury, all enemies jump, avoiding the attack!
and when he uses aerial blitz, he moves a long distance while flying and when he goes down he slides kilometers after hitting the ground.

does anyone know how to fix it?

when you hex edit the saved games and put archangel as a player, when he uses this move, he flies up and hit the ground in the same place he left it (he uses the move in the same vertical plane). got it?

obs: i'm not very good at english, so tell me if i was clear enough...  Hehehe!

Aerial Blitz in the Angel mod is not same as the Archangel move you mention...

That Archangel move you speak of is in the mod.  From the Heavens is the move and his xtreme in the mod.  It was Archangel's xtreme as a boss as well.  I originally had another animation attached to aerial blitz but it wouldn't work well unless the enemy was right up against you.  Because of Angel's limited animations (since we wasn't intended to be more than a boss in the original game) I chose to speed up the animation for his Xtreme as a new move simialar to one of Colossus'.  If you look I beleive you will see a red target first and he will go up and land where the red target was originally and cause radial damage from the crash.  I didn't want it to be exactly like his xtreme in fast forward mode, so I put it as a target locked move.  Hope this clears up any confusion.   :archangel:

I don't know if I could but I managed to fix two angel's bugs:

- every time he used "winged fury" and "from the heavens", the enemies jump and almost never got hit.

When Angel uses Winged Fury, its doing 4 times more damage than it's supposed to do. Have anyone notice that?

Thanks, I will probably add an update in soon once I totally learn using MUA skeletons as fightstyles, which will give him more power moves, which will make up for the lack of animations on the XML2 skeleton.  That way I also may be able to get the sword boost to work as well.

Matt, do you know how to bolt Angel's bolton wing onto a wingless skin in the powerstyle (instead of the herostat)?  I could do the same with other non-animated boltons, but I can't seem to do it for the ones that require a corresponding skeleton.

Moving on to Angel.  He will get sounds, a voice, new skins, and a sword.  I will be getting rid of the trap move borrowed from storm since it doesn't make mutch sense and may mix up some of his animations.  He will not be getting a new fightstyle thusfar, and I will try my hardest from some menu animations (I can def do an idle and action, it is goodbye that is the problem).  I may look into how the game defines what animation is used for menu_goodbye and how the game uses it in the menu since it isn't defined in the shared_anims file.  Maybe I can set it to look for a power like power_17 or power_15 (which are seldom used by the skeletons in xml2)  If that is the case that might be something to look into and can give us menu anims for all the mods that lack them.

Cool. What skins are you looking into giving him? He already has a whole lot and seems complete in that regard. I guess one that's missing is his Revolution costume

Ok I am getting rid of Angel's attack heavy to make it menu_goodbye, it sometimes bugged anyway.  I am using attack_light as menu_action, which will not be lost since I can reference it in the powerstyle.  He will be getting his original skin and some others.  The only prerequesit is that they have to be based on his XML2 skin and Death skins.

Alrighty, Angel's powers have been updated.  He lost his vortex move, but gained his sword move.  In this boost he uses a sword and gains AR + DMG ratings.  Hummingbird essence deals with speed, dodging and defense now.  He has menu animations, and unique heavy2 (his original attack_light3) and knockback attacks (flaps a wind gust).  For his popup he now takes out his sword and flies up with it pointing up.  He should block with his wings, but the animation doesn't hold, so I set it up so that it may be just his random block he does in the game (hard to test).  I still can't fix where the enemies jump for some of his moves as of yet, but will try more.  I may or may not edit Johnny Storm's Voice since they sound great with him.  So he is moving along nicely.

By the way, I did fix the jumping problem.  Enemies still might jump, but they cannot evade it since it hits their feet/legs.

That's odd, recheck your herostats.  That is the only thing I can think of that would give you another character.

So I playtested Angel today and I absolutely enjoyed him.  It was really fun.  I tried him out solo at level 99 in the save professor x area.  I have to say his Melee attack power is slaughterific.  I was doing 4000 damage using it in conjunction with his sword boost.  I think it may be a little bit too strong.  I do however really like the animation for it.  He is one of the most unique characters I've tried out thus far.  I'm thinking about adding him to my roster but he's so powerful that I may have to pass for fear that I'll sleep my way through the game?  Have you noticed this, was this intentional?

Oh yeah the archangel skin is gangster.

So I've got a bit of an update.  I used these two moves in conjuction together today and I was able to one shot kill Grizzly for more than 9000 damage.

Yea i do not know if anyone else is having this problem but i added angel great everything works but one thing he does not have flight...I dunno Can the Problem Be that I have spiderman too right above him? can anyone help me out here?

Just out of curiosity, there wouldn't be an upgrade to the mod that allows Archangel's Nueral Feathers (like in the MUA mod)? I tried to do it and he goes thru the animation, but no effects...
