Title: Random talk about Spider-Man
Post by: xXScarletSpiderXx on September 05, 2012, 12:20PM
Hi there, I'm John :D For a while now something has been bothering me. Should they bring back Peter Parker in Ultimate Spider-Man? If so, how?
Even if they won't I'd like to make a topic about this since it's been in my mind for quite some time now and I just want to tell it to the world.
So how could Bendis bring Parker back to life? The most logical way is if he ties Ultimate Spider-Man with "The Other" storyline from The Amazing Spider-Man. Even so it would seem kinda late for that seeing as how in that story, Peter came back about 2 or 3 days later and in the Ultimate Universe it's been like what? A few weeks? A month? Not sure exactly. Another possibility, but I doubt it would actually work but it would be awesome, would be to use the Black Suit. In case you don't remember, S.H.I.E.L.D. took The Suit for further studies. It would seem too late now but I do believe that if they acted right when he died, The Suit might've brought him back to life. Crazy theory right? These are just my ideas. So I ask you, how would YOU bring back Peter if you were in Bendis' place. Either by a method used in other storylines or simply a personal idea?
Thank you for reading and I await your ideas :)  :spidergirl:

They won't do it but I wish they would. I preferred Peter in the role.

Well it's not that I don't like Miles. Quite the opposite I do like him as a character, his costume is great, he is funny in his own way and all but he needs the real Peter Parker to mentor him and show him how to do things. Surely it seems he meets Aunt May and Gwen who probably will do that but it can't compare to how he can learn it from the real Spider-Man. Though I see they tought of this for Spider-Men but still I have a feeling that Peter's work isn't completely done.

Exactly. Miles is a great kid, and a great character. I'd just like to see him become a superhero with his own name and such, not Spidey. I'd really like it if they'd made them both a team; like Spider-Man and Spider-Boy (yeah, I know, the name sounds odd).

If you want Parker, go read Amazing Spiderman or New Avengers or something XD I personally love having Morales and having him entirely lost. It's a really interesting learning experience to watch. It gives new readers an excellent jumping in point and really overall some variety is always good. The ultimate universe is the perfect place to play around with all these things. To play around with real world consequences where characters actually die and don't end up coming back a month later. Where they can turn America into a massive Sentinel state and don't just reboot reality or anything. They have to deal with it. Maybe it's not for everyone, but that's why they have 616 XD

That's why I'm not renewing my USM subscription.

And that is precisely why I love the Ultimate-verse. Some stories I might not agree with or like (for example, not a fan of the new ultimate x-men series. I prefer reading Wolverine and the X-Men, but that's just me.) but for the most part they are able to do stuff that would be unheard of in the normal 616 universe.

Holy spiders on a stick Spidey!
Holy tunacaserole Spidey!
Holy grandmother who lives in France Spidey!
Holy pink colored smokes Spidey!
Holy tacos are now a dollar at Taco Bell Spidey!

Yeah I can totally see it.

I am the responsibility. I am the power. I am.... Spider-Man!

If Spidey had his own bar it would be called Web-Hooters.

I went totally off topic but my mind was running with this stuff 6_6

I just realized how ironic this is because 616 Spidey is getting a sidekick named Alpha.

Yeah, I've always liked that Spider-Man, while he does work with others, is otherwise his own hero. Plus Alpha looks like an idiot. He doesn't seem smart enough to be a sidekick.

Glad to see someone else think that and not loving it just because Dan Slott came up with the idea (I'm not a Slott fan, not in the slightest.)

Actually, I've enjoyed most of Slott's run. This is the first really awful idea I've seen from him.

I'm more of a Bendis or Straczynski fan. Straczynski's run, up until the Stacy twins or road to Civil War arcs, was incredible. The character growth for Peter, M.J. , and Aunt May was stuff I'd wanted to see for a long time.... then OMD happened.

OMD had to happen. It's not as simple for Peter as it is for Tony to just swing around while everyone knows who he is since he puts people in danger. on the other hand OMD lead up to Big Time and Future Foundation. I love those story arcs. Fear itself was pretty cool too and call me a noob if you want but I still didn't read Dark Avengers yet. I'm currently downloading the cbrs to view in ComicRack. (in my country there are no Marvel or DC comic books. there is a Spectacular Spider-Man comic series that started in UK it's pretty cool and the art is fabulous but other than that I'm a complete sucker for Spider-Man's comic adventures. I know of all he's been through since Brand New Day thanks to Marvel Wikia -_-'')

I would press edit just for legal issues if you know what I mean, I won't keep doing it.

I know it's not available, but you do have to keep the forum's rules in mind.

Yeah we all got off topic here. How about the new title? "Random talk about Spider-Man" ?

I didn't even notice the title loal xD

I just don't want this community to die (like everybody else here). That's all. Anywayz nothing more to see here people, move along (on topic!)

Peter & Miles working together. He could be his sidekick better than Alpha imo. I mean, if they wanna be multicultural, why not put THEM together.

That's probably why Spider-Men is such a good read, because it's Miles and Peter doing their Spider thing.

Well we do have Pete and Miles work togheter in Spider-Men. Alltough it's kinda hard to figure out who's the sidekick. I mean this IS the Ultimate Universe, Miles' world but yet again Pete is more experienced than Miles sooo.... But hey atleast we got a glimpse of Peter and Miles duo.

Still... I'd rather not have a dead Peter in a universe where he was supposed to be the main character. Plus I hated how they made the series become exactly what I wanted to see happen to Peter just before killing him off.

I know right? He finally got back with MJ, SHIELD was training him, and he got his job back at the Daily Bugle. It's like they were trying to throw us off of whether or not he would actually die "Oh he can't die, look at this. We just put his life back together, he won't die."
Dammit Marvel! lol
But still Miles is cool, I think it would be awesome if they introduced Miles in the normal universe and they do the sidekick thing like that (that one I wouldn't have a problem with at all)

now they are replacing peter parker with some other guy as spider man in "Superior Spider-Man".What has marvel come to?

No I think it's still Peter, but they made the costume seem a little too "Halloween". But they're messing up Spidey again. And just after I started to get over One More Day/Brand New Day...

I don't know, Slott himself has implied that this is a new Spider-Man. This whole idea is kinda silly, a darker and less friendly Spidey ( I though that's why we had Scarlet Spider? Which is hardcore awesome).
Upside is that MJ and Peter are getting back together and the costume looks cool, but the edgier Spidey seems ridiculous.

Okay, so as I was reading this topic, I got curious and I went on to investigate on the Marvel Database (wikia).

*SPOILERS AHEAD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION* (At least, I think they are spoilers, who can trust the internet nowadays?)

So, I'm not sure who this Alpha guy is, but I found someone from 2012, named Andrew Maguire. I read his full history and it turns out he is already depowered by Spidey due to being somewhat unstable with his powers. So, as I was there, I went on to read about others as well. It turns out the Sentry has a good chance of returning (hopefully less unstable this time), based on the stuff, that happened at his funeral.

*END OF SPOILERS* (If they were spoilers)

So...uh....I always get confused when I start reading stuff there :D I didn't really find much about the "Superior Spider-Man" (I didn't really look to tell you the truth, I dismissed the whole title of the thing to begin with), the only I care about is the fact, that I don't want Marvel to ever kill off/replace Peter Parker as Spider-Man. That would be just stupid
Title: Re: Random talk about Spider-Man

I'm pretty sure it's still Peter. They're just screwing up the costume and making him darker and less wise-cracking.

Slott stated that Peter is not dead or retired. He's just not the Superior Spider-Man.

And it really pisses me off to see that Mary Jane will date this unknown Spider-Man instead of Peter Parker. Come on, Slott, why do you want her to be such a s*** !

Peter and MJ are the best Marvel's lovers ever, period. Just make them come back together again and screw Mephisto, or Tante May, or anybody else !

If they're even continuing with it, and if they do they'll probably switch it  to this new Spider-Man.
Why Marvel, why?
