Title: Vision Mod Release
Post by: idrinkdrpepper on August 15, 2007, 06:02PM
Vision Mod:
- started with Vision from tommyboy's Avenger's mod
- kept most of the talent names and descriptions, but renovated several of the powers, including the xtreme
- used iron man's voice file
- replaced the phase script by a different one that I had made back in November.  Instead of having the phase set to a certain time limit, I set it so that you can turn it on and off by activating the power multiple times. This gives a little more control over phasing, which I thought was important since there are some dangers to it and it's a little cheap and annoying to have it active for periods of a minute.
- Vision's laser eye attack has been revamped using a Gladiator animation, and it looks a lot cleaner

It's the same coding as Mr. Fantastic's xtreme (Orbital Assault, I think), but with a different name and talent values.

Just a quick question guys, does this mod need a mannequin? Or is one already made for it...cause since Im making as many MUA Mannequins as I can I just wanted to know if you wanted a vison one. Anyways let me know if I can help out!
Title: Re: Vision Mod Release
Post by: Teancum on February 09, 2008, 09:07AM
Tommy made a mannequin for it awhile back, but it was his model.  So it might be nice to have a Vision mannequin that uses the in-game model for continuity.  Some very 'stand-up-straight' basic pose might work well.

Download the mod and find out.

As soon as I get MUA for my laptop, I plan on it. I'm sort of absorbing all the info I can on the mod scene before I dive in. I was lucky enough to get it as a launch title on the Wii, so I'm familiar with the game. I've wanted to mod this game since it came out.

I'm really excited; you guys in the scene have been doing great stuff.

If I remember correctly, the released mod does not have an Iron Lad/Young Avenger Vision, but it's available in another download.

Edit: yup, Boreman made more Vision skins here: http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=554.msg10727#msg10727

Post by: muafan on February 09, 2008, 07:48PM
right... so whwnever i use the xtreame vision says " i am vision. i will inform you of any people and/or locals you may encounter." whats up with tht?
P.s.
Overload: where does one get the cool-looking mannequins you made for spidey spider-woman iron man, and wolvy?
Title: Re: Vision Mod Release
Post by: Overload on February 09, 2008, 07:58PM
Oh..Ironman, Wolverine, Nightcrawler and tons of new mannequins can be found at my forum page, just search Overload and you'll find it. And the Spiderman- Spidey Woman mannequins were released as a holiday gift and cannot be downloaded unless you were there for the event.. But let's make sure to keep the talk about the Vision mod since this is idrinkdrpepper's forum page...on mine talk about anything.

I'm also in the process of testing out a new Vision sound set.  There's not much to work with, but he'll have more to say this time around.

Here's the big update for Vision:

-New reskins/skins -- Classic, White, Gatherer, Iron Lad (by Raven Studios, myself, and Boreman respectively)
-New HUDs/fixes to icons
-New voiceovers (he doesn't have tons to say, but he's got as many lines as I could get)

Just extract it over the old version, or install this one if you've never used the original.

Well done for the Vision Mod but there are a few things I didnt like:

- Density powers contains errors
- I 'd have retained the Classic, Gatherer and White skins, but rather than the "Iron Lad" one I'd have made (If I knew how to) made one completely of Young Avengers (cape and all) with a head more akin to Vision's rather than Ol' Shellhead
- MAKE MORE ORIGINAL ANIMS FOR POWERS!!!

Still, well done though. Brilliant effort

why don't you do " more original anims for power" instead of alway saying to people to do that?  look your words and please get some respect by the people who work hard to make dummy people like me and you play with new carachters
Title: Re: Vision Mod Release
Post by: Teancum on April 03, 2008, 09:01AM
Indeed.  We have no way of making animations from scratch, so it's tough to make things look original.

I've had trouble with both this mod and the Shadowcat mod where the character falls out of the map and dies when their phasing / lower-density powers are engaged.

Like, in the first scenario, if you were on one of the "outside" levels, Shadowcat would just fall through the floor and disappear.

Anyone else have problems like that?

i had,you just have to make a new game and they powers will/should work right

So, the bug is the Massive Slam, it supposed to be just liked Gladiator. Can someone have a fixed powerstyle & talent for Vision.

Yeah I was having the same problems with Vision's skill Minimum Density if you Jump... you start clipping upward without stopping, but if you then use Maximum Density the problem is trying to control where you land, or else you have one dead Vision on your hands.
Title: Re: Vision Mod Release
Post by: Teancum on October 13, 2008, 11:41AM
That's a limitation of the engine.  Nothing we can do to fix that unfortunately.

Post by: Sutekh on October 13, 2008, 10:47PM
lol then i will have to practice landing skills, but great for clipping into sealed rooms.

Ok this is weird, why Vision Mod Old Link is better than New Link, Teancum there is something problem with Massive Slam. I use controller during gameplay, the power is number 3 icon. Anyway about the Shadowcat mod, don't jump during phasing/lower density, just dodge.

I only changed the skins in the new version and added HUDs.

Dude, the GameBoy version of the game is completely different from the standard MUA on other consoles. And it's much crappier according to reviews I've read.

Well i've got bugged up with his powerstyle. In herostat & ps_vision xml files, i change sound of iron_m into vision_m(herostat) & iron into vision(ps_vision). Is it bugged us up.

I tried to download the Vision mod (from page 2 of this thread), but the link didn't work.  Does anyone know if this is because of the server change?  Can someone post a working link?  Vision is one of my favorites.

Vision is alot of fun to play!  I'm currently running through the game with him.  I noticed that his voice is actually Iron Man's....  In reading this thread, I saw that there were new voiceovers done for him (maybe not Iron Man's voice).  Is this true and is that mod available anywhere?

In Vision's herostat entry, where it says "sounddir = iron_m ;", put "sounddir = vision_m ;" instead.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure you'll have to start the game again with default stats.
