Since X-Men Legends II has a CCC now, I decided to add one for X-Men Legends as well! For those who don't know, CCC stands for Custom Character Central. It has been used in Ultimate Alliance to sort mods for years now to prevent clashes. Well, now it's come to XML1 as well. I put Marvel and Non-Marvel characters on one sheet, since they can use the same numbers without clashes (as long as different skin numbers are used)

I know that no mods have been made for XML1 yet, but I wanted to have a CCC in place so that it's ready for once mods are made. I went ahead and reserved spots for mods of XML2 playables, XML2 NPCs that have mods, and MUA1 playables, just so they're ready. I'd assume those would be among the first mods to be made for XML1. I'm acting on the assumption that a character can use all 7 skin categories, but that hasn't been verified yet.




XML1 CCC Rules (PLEASE READ)
  • You MUST use the XML1 CCC if you wish to create a mod of a character for X-Men Legends
  • Requests that have no progress after 1 year will be removed to make way for new requests
  • NUMBERS: Please use the form below to request a number for your character. Use unfilled numbers until all of them have been filled, and then it's okay to share numbers
    • The exception is for alternate versions/recreations (see Rule #5)
  • SKINS: Skin numbers will be assigned to you. By default, you will be given 7 skin numbers. If you need more (for minions or alternate forms), you can request that in the request form
    • An example of an alternate form would be Magma or Human Torch's Fiery forms or Husk's various forms
    • An example of a minion would be Lilandra's Shi'ar soldier minion
    • When creating your mod, please create packages for all 7 assigned skin numbers
    • When creating your mod, please make skins in the following order on the herostat: skin, skin_60s, skin_70s, skin_weaponx, skin_future, skin_winter, skin_civilian, skin_magmacivilian
  • VERSIONS OF ONE CHARACTER: Different versions of a character are expected to use different skin numbers, but the same character numbers. Recreations of existing mods are expected to use the same numbers as the original
    • An example of different versions of a character would be Colossus and Unstoppable Colossus (different versions of a character). Both use the number 09, but they use different skin numbers (0901-0907 for Colossus, 0910-0917 for Unstoppable Colossus)
    • An example of a recreation of an existing mod would be nodoubt_jr's Beast mod and Cohollow's Beast mod (different mods, but the same character). Both use the number 05, and both use skin numbers 0501-0509
    • If you are creating a different version of a character, please make it so that they can play independently from the other version(s)

At long last, X-Men Legends II finally has a CCC! For those who don't know, CCC stands for Custom Character Central. It has been used in Ultimate Alliance to sort mods for years now to prevent clashes. Well, now it's come to XML2 as well. I put Marvel and Non-Marvel characters on one sheet, since they can use the same numbers without clashes (as long as different skin numbers are used)

There are a few mentions of the XML2 Ultimate Patch in the CCC. That's currently a WIP, so it's altering a few skin numbers for the default characters and thus is a bit inaccurate. Once the Ultimate Patch has been released, the CCC will be fully accurate.




XML2 CCC Rules (PLEASE READ)

This fix alters the numbers of a handful of XML2 mods. This is done to prevent clashes, standardize numbers between two versions of a character, or to simplify the skin range used by a character.

The characters are all in individual folders in the download, so you can pick and choose which to use. The download is below

BEFORE INSTALLING THIS FIX, PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW AND THE README FILE SO AS NOT TO OVERWRITE OTHER VERSIONS OF A CHARACTER

  • Angel (by Matt710)
    • Condensed skin numbers. Now uses 1002-1010
      • No longer shares a skin with NPC Archangel
    • DO NOT INSTALL THIS CHARACTER IF YOU WANT TO USE COHOLLOW'S ANGEL MOD
  • Black Cat (matt710)
    • Now uses #244, the same as hemlot's Black Cat mod
      • Avoids conflict with Scarlet Witch

      • To avoid conflict with Songbird
  • Northstar (Shafcrawler)
    • Added missing files
    • Renamed Aurora skin to 11301_Aurora.igb
      • To avoid clash with Quicksilver
  • Phoenix MUA2 Conversion and Modder's Cut (Jeanfan321)
    • Renumbered skins. Now uses 0241-0249
      • To avoid clash with default Jean Grey
    • Altered her internal name, so she can now be used as an independent character
      • renamed animations, powerstyle, fightstyle, effects, and packages
      • still uses XML2 Jean's sounds

This is where you can find boosters for pre-existing mods for X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse. They are arranged in alphabetical order, with first names included (Ex. Abigail Brand would be listed as literally that, not listed as Brand, Abigail), and then alphabetically by creator.


Many characters have boosters from several creators, and each of these are personal takes on the character. Because of this, no booster is going to be polled on and recommended, since each fits a different taste. The Release Posts for each booster will tell you more about them.

This is where you can find Non-Marvel characters for X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, such as DC, other properties, and custom characters. For Marvel characters, see the XML2 Character Mod Catalog. They are arranged in alphabetical order, with first names included. (Ex. Abigail Brand would be listed as literally that, not listed as Brand, Abigail.)


If a character is done by two different modders, it is best to look at their release posts and decide for yourself which one you prefer to use. One could be an improvement of the other. If you see this: :done:, that means that this is the recommended one for use. Results from polls on Discord.

These are the character files for the default characters in X-Men Legends II. I claim no credit for the characters or the contents of the files; I simply separated the files from the game. I did this so that modders can make mods and boosters more easily, and also so that anyone that overwrites the files of a character can easily reinstall them. Let me know if thereís anything missing.

I only included the hero files, not the npc/boss files.
