Radeon users: Are you experiencing visual corruption with advanced lighting on HIGH?

I have a x1950PRO and am noticing weird visual corruption (black dots) on the screen with advanced lighting on HIGH. I don't have this problem with lighting on Low, Medium or Off. Another member here (Luciano) has the same problem with a x1950XT as can be seen in this thread: HERE

An example of the visual corruption:

Does anyone have this problem, or know how to fix it?

I have dual 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GTX cards.....

But seriously, I don't know much of anything about ATI Radeon, since I've always stuck with Nvidia.  Someone posted a while back about a problem with a video card doing something similar to this though.  Noel suggested something about the card may be overheating, or the card may just not be able to handle the graphics.  I don't know.  How does your card perfom with other games with next-gen graphics?  The same, better, worse?
Some day, someone will best me.  But it won't be today, and it won't be you.

Well I know for sure that it isn't overheating. It reaches 55-60C under load (depending on ambient temperatures). My card has an aftermarket cooler and I have good airflow in my case. Also I don't have any problems with other games, NFS, Oblivion, FEAR, HL2 all run fine.

Someone else had the same problem and fixed it on this forum you might be able to check and find it ,I can't remember I think it was a update or a older update.http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=72.msg911#msg911
And their turning us into Monsters its all designed!!

What do you have for a 3d accelerator?  The only thing I can think of at this point is to try to find a new driver (not always out in the open...  I searched for days for a new one with my old laptop), overclock it, or call tech support.

Just bumping this back up. The new Catalyst 7.5 Driver fixes the problem. Less stuttering in the frame-rates, and better looking shadows.

ahh cool!  I thought my x1950 pro was being a dog during this game.  gracias :D

No problem. The driver also comes with a free game offer (Half Life 2: Lost Coast). Pretty cool if you don't already have the game.

:bowdown1:  :highfive:

How to fix the problem Charlie_Murphy?
