Replicating The Corrupted Save File Problem

Does anybody know how I can replicate the corrupted save file problem?. It happened to me a few times when using the PS2 version. I could be wrong, but I think it happened after acquiring too many items whilst leaving everything else on the floor. As you go through the game the number of item drops builds up. This eventually leads to the corruption of your save file.

The problem with this is that I've done this with 2 current option files that I have. I've recently completed the game with a total of 46 items stored in my inventory and hero stash and still couldn't replicate the issue. I've even created another option file in which I've fully maxed out both of the aforementioned things.
