JESSE CUSTER

A collaboration project between Arachknight and myself, we present to everyone: Jesse Custer from Vertigo Comics' Preacher!

Originating from an alternate reality within the DC Comics side of the multiverse, Jesse found himself growing up in a dark world with all sorts of twists and turns as he was psychologically abused by his deranged, estranged religious family members after losing both of his normal, genuinely loving parents as a kid.

Initially attempting to flee from his 'Angelville' home in Annville and try to live his own life with a woman named Tulip O'Hare in Northern Texas, Jesse would only last so long on the run before he was forcibly taken back by his cultish family and quickly turned to Christianity and alcohol, gradually losing the will to fight back against the corrupt townspeople which governed his position as a preacher.

But one day however by pure happenstance, a creature escaped from the spiritual realm of heaven known as Genesis and merged with Jesse's very soul, granting him the power to command anyone to do whatever he asked of them, whether they be willing or not.

Annville entirely destroyed as a byproduct of the supernatural explosion generated with the merging of Jesse and Genesis into one, Jesse would use his newly-gained powers to finally take control over his life, travelling across the United States as he found himself facing off against all sorts of serious supernatural threats from both Heaven and Hell during his various misadventures.

Unexpectedly baring witness to mysterious dimensional tears generated from a very different world entirely, Jesse's curiosity compelled him to investigate further, stepping through the tear to Earth-7150 as it newly sealed behind him...

FEATURES:
1. Knife Fighter: Jesse pulls out two knives on his person and spins around with them, dealing physical damage so long as button is held down.
2. True Shot: Jesse pulls out two dual pistols, firing bullets repeatedly at foes and dealing physical damage, so long as button is held down.
3. Stop: Jesse uses the power of Genesis to command all minor enemies within earshot to stop in their tracks, seemingly freezing in place briefly.
4. Destroy Them: Jesse uses the power of Genesis to command some enemies to turn on their own allies and fight them to the death temporarily.
5. (Debuff) Get Lost: Jesse uses the power of Genesis to command all enemies within earshot to run away in fear as he issues a chilling threat their way.
6. (Boost) Live: Jesse uses the power of Genesis to command his teammates to get back up, restoring their vitality to full health and revive any fallen allies at the cost of all his available energy.
7. (Boost) Forget: Jesse uses the power of Genesis to command all enemies (including bosses) within earshot to forget him and his allies were ever in the current area temporarily, allowing them to pass by as if they were invisible at a heavy energy cost.
8. (Xtreme) Go To Hell: Jesse uses the power of Genesis to command all onscreen enemies and bosses to go to the dimension of Hell itself, instantly killing them in a fiery explosion as they're sent to the underworld for their sins.

RAIDEN

Born in 1983 on a wet day in Liberia to unknown parents, the child who would grow up to become more commonly known by the codename of Raiden in the Metal Gear universe, started off life under the name of Jack.
During his youth, Jack would be adopted into the care of 'Solidus Snake' during the First Liberian Civil War and became his godfather-in-law after cruelly killing off Jack's birth parents covertly for his own ends.

Solidus Snake molding Jack and countless other formally innocent children into soldiers through subtle brainwashing tactics, Jack grew into an unstoppable killing machine and amassed an infamous reputation with a high kill count and the various ways he dispatched any enemies in his path, eventually placed in a relief center once the Civil War was over.

Jack and the other surviving child soldiers soon taken into custody by a US-based, non-government organization without Solidus Snake's knowledge, they would undergo extensive counselling sessions to regain a sense of stability over their lives after the countless horrific acts they were manipulated into doing.

But while many of the child soldiers would gradually come to terms with what they had done and slowly regained a sense of normalcy, Jack would not and hated everything he'd done (swiftly manipulated by the mysterious collective known as the Patriots as his brain was implanted with a high concentration of memory-manipulating nanomachines, in order to function as an organic back-up system for an optic-neuro AI).

Soon joining a US Army task force, Jack participated in 300 recorded VR simulations of infamous war incidents (including those accomplished by the legendary soldier known as Solid Snake), eventually taking on the very real 'Big Shell' mission in 2009 under his new codename of Raiden, which would go on to define the rest of his recorded life as all sorts of mind-blowing revelations would be unveiled over the course of the mission.

Encouraged to bring down the Patriots' twisted plans by the real Solid Snake himself, Raiden would truly come into his own and no longer served as the Patriots' puppet.

However, Raiden's repressed memories during his time as a brainwashed child soldier would cause tension within his romantic relationship with the reformed spy, Rose as they gradually resurfaced and eventually left her for a number of years as he trained to become more proficient in the art of Japanese swordsmanship before being captured while out on a mission in Alaska to retrieve the remains of the dangerous 'Big Boss' from the control of the Patriots, tragically captured by them again as he was made into an unwilling test subject for experimental exoskeletal enhancement surgery.

His head and spine carefully excised from his original organic body and grafted to an enhanced cyborg body, Raiden became stronger than ever at the cost of much of his humanity as he was rescued from captivity by the Paradise Lost army and finally underwent removal surgery to clear his entire body of nanomachines.

Helping a suddenly elderly Solid Snake in taking down Liquid Snake and the Patriots for good in 2014 (who's failing cloned genetics from Big Boss were rapidly causing his body to age to that of an old man despite biologically being in his early 40s), Raiden was encouraged by Solid Snake in his dying words to not follow the same path he had as Raiden reunited with Rose and met his secret son John for the first time, having a quiet moment among them as he proclaimed that he was done running away from his responsibilities.

Returning to active combat duty in time to financially provide for his family, Raiden had his cyborg body upgraded several times at different points for the next few years to combat equally formidable cyborg soldiers that were beginning to rise up to fill the gap left behind by the destroyed Patriots collective, Raiden fought valiantly to bring down the malicious military agency, World Marshal Inc, in 2018 who sought to profit off the literal horrors of war, slaughtering their entire workforce before ending them with the death of corrupt US Senator Steven Armstrong (who was secretly the CEO of the military company in question).

Resolving to fight his own war from then on against many more cyborg mercenaries contracted to kill him, Raiden prepared to face them all with nothing but an unnerving, sadistic like grin as he raised his sword in the face of overwhelming odds.

One day however in 2019, Raiden would be facing off against a surviving Metal Gear robot, destroying it with incredible strength before suddenly getting his attention drawn to a mysterious dimensional tear as robots started to pop out of it, that Raiden had not previously encountered.

Destroying the disappointingly weak robots which sought to harm innocent people, Raiden decided to take the fight to them as he charged through the tear to an entirely different Earth altogether, the tear quickly sealing behind him.

Taking in his new surroundings on board a flying vehicle of some kind, his attention would be suddenly drawn to a familiar-sounding voice originating from the shadows.

Demanding whoever it was to come out of hiding and show themselves, the shadowy figure obliged much to Raiden's visible shock.

'Not who you were expecting, huh?' the revealed man stated in knowing confidence...

MOVESET:
1. Stabbing Despair: Raiden pulls out his Dystopia Tactical Sai earned from defeating Monsoon in MG Rising, throwing a sai which generates an electric current and pulls an unlucky enemy towards Raiden for a finisher popup attack, dealing physical damage!
2. Vent Du Ciel: Raiden pulls out his L'Etranger Polearm weapon earned from defeating Mistral in MG Rising, leaping into the air and slamming the ground hard with it, dealing radial damage to struck threats.
3. Blade Mode: Raiden performs his Zan Datsu attack, freezing nearby enemies in place before proceeding to slice them to pieces, dealing physical damage.
4. Spiral Hand: Raiden pulls out his Bloodlust pincer blades earned from defeating Sundowner in MG Rising, performing a quick spin attack with them alongside the HF blade in his right hand as he deals physical damage to enemies in his way.
5. Two Hand Top: Raiden performs a powerful handstand spin-kick with his HF sword held by his right foot, slicing through any surrounding enemy as physical damage is dealt. Chance of gaining some health back if fully charged!
6. Anime Beatdown: Inspired by the final bossfight against Senator Armstrong in MG Rising, Raiden performs a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure-styled barefisted combo at impressive speeds, dealing physical damage to struck targets.
7. Mastiff Takedown: Inspired by one of Raiden's finisher moves in MG Rising, Raiden grabs an unlucky enemy by the legs and uses them as a weapon, knocking back any other foe stupid enough to get close. Let go of power button to throw away enemy in Raiden's hands.
8. (Boost) AR Vision: Raiden uses his advanced cyborg tech to reveal nearby enemies on the map, reducing energy cost for entire team temporarily.
9. (Boost) Jack The Ripper: Raiden temporarily loses himself to his more bloodthirsty but somehow still heroic alternate persona, increasing his overall damage and defense further.
10. (Xtreme) Sated Revengeance: Raiden pulls out his HF Blade and carefully positions it to his side akin to a Japanese samurai, before unleashing a powerful 180 degree forward radial strike on all surrounding enemies which deals heavy knockback damage.

PROWLER

While the Prowler has become a character more commonly associated with Miles Morales via his uncle, Aaron Davis, he didn't start out that way (with a completely different character altogether named Hobie Brown, being the first to don the identity).

Born the youngest of nine kids, Hobie and his siblings had to essentially raise themselves due to very negligent parents and while he gained a passion for inventing that lasted into adulthood, Hobie took up a job as a window cleaner to keep himself afloat.

Inspired to become the Prowler after being caught in a battle between Daredevil and Stilt-Man, he fashioned himself a costume that was kitted out with a variety of tools and began a brief career in crime (after losing his job as a window cleaner).

But it was through a chance encounter with Peter Parker's Spider-Man that Hobie realized he could do so much more as the Prowler and reformed to accomplish more heroic deeds from then on.

Since that time, Hobie Brown has been through a lot (teaming up with Spider-Man on many occasions to assist him with an assortment of cases or to clear his own name of false crimes).

Having retired from heroics for several years prior to focus more on his relationship with his now pregnant wife, Mindy McPherson, Hobie was contacted by SHIELD to lend his expertise against the Masters of Evil.

Despite Mindy's objections, Hobie knew that he had to don the Prowler costume again one last time in order to ensure a safe future for his family, the two embracing before Hobie jumped out the window and used his cape to safely glide down and meet with the specialized 'Agents of SHIELD' team on the streets below...

1. Counter Slash: Hobie slashes at enemies with the claws on his suit's gauntlets, dealing physical damage.
2. Steel Darts: Hobie fires durable and sharp darts from one of his suit's gauntlets, dealing physical damage to struck targets.
3. Grapple Shot: Hobie fires a grappling hook at an unlucky target, flinging them into the air as he pulls on the wire, dealing physical damage.
4. Compressed Blast: Hobie fires a strong blast of compressed air from his suit's gauntlets, dealing physical damage to an unlucky target as they're knocked back from the impact.
5. (Debuff) Magnesium Flares: Being quick on his feet, Hobie flings a magnesium flare to the ground, stunning enemies and lowering their damage output as they're temporarily blinded.
6. (Boost) Expert Fighter: Being an expert martial artist, Hobie puts his experience to good use as evasion chances and overall defense are increased for a time.
7. (Boost) Covert Operative: Being extremely skilled in the art of stealth, Hobie blends into his surroundings and becomes seemingly invisible to enemies, increasing critical hit chances while reducing damage received from enemy attacks.
8. (Xtreme) Sleeping Pellets: Wanting to deescalate the current situation quickly, Hobie flings pellets of knockout gas that deals no damage but leaves foes stunned in a state of utter bliss.

Excellent work! I always thought the Prowler was a really interesting Spider-Man character. Of course everyone seems to know and associate him with Aaron Davis these days, but I remember his appearances in Spider-Man before Miles Morales was ever created. I'm actually a little bummed out he didn't show up more often. At least his legacy lives on strong!

SWARM

Originally a Nazi scientist active during World War II, the man known as Fritz von Meyer would live far beyond this infamous point in history in one of the most morbid ways possible.

Discovering a giant bee hive deep in the jungles of South America during the mid 1940s that Fritz could only believe to be the result of a cosmic meteorite bombardment (noting the bees' extreme lack of fear and unusual passivity in the midst of a highly developed hivemind intelligence), Fritz built a device which would in theory, reawaken the mutated bee colony's natural killer instincts so that they could serve him in global conquest.

However, Fritz would realize too late that he had made an error in his specifications as the newly aggressive bees swarmed over him and horrifically killed his original body.

But something unexpected would happen that day as Fritz's consciousness and brilliant scientific mind would be added to the mutated intelligence of the bee colony and afforded him complete control over the bees which formed his new physical body.

Deciding to use his new capabilities to take over the world, Fritz travelled all the way to the United States decades later under the new name of 'Swarm' after being imprisoned with other human-insect hybrids for experimentation by a being called Macrothrax, a representative for the ominous 'Bug-Lords.'

Facing off against the original Champions team, the Runaways, Doctor Druid and most commonly Spider-Man on many occasions, Swarm's plans for world domination would be thwarted time and time again as he retreated to enact his next grand plan against the human race.

His robotic bee drones uncovering a grand plan at Stark Tower that implied the Latverian dictator Doctor Doom had forged a group calling themselves the Masters of Evil to steal the power of the Asgardian god Odin for himself, Fritz knew even then that it was existential disaster just waiting to happen as he recalled prior research notes from his time under the employ of the Red Skull during World War 2.

Not desiring to have insectkind wiped off the map by Doctor Doom's reckless actions, Fritz with great reluctance, ultimately decided to temporarily side with the so-called heroes for the sake of having the natural existential order restored, making his presence known soon enough as he covertly snuck into Stark Tower...

MOVESET:
1. Eye of the Beeholder: Swarm commands several bees of his composite being to fly around him and sting any enemies that get too close to him, dealing physical damage.
2. Beehave Yourself: Swarm slams his composite being hands together, irritating a portion of the bees as they knock back and damage surrounding enemies with a 50% chance of draining an enemy's health if stunned.
3. (Boost) Bee Seeing You: Swarm utilizes the control over bees which make up his composite being to his advantage, becoming completely intangible. Press Jump button while standing still to deactivate power!
4. (Boost) Buzzkill: Swarm utilizes the control over bees which make up his composite being to increase his max health and strike stats for a time.
5. (Xtreme) Bee Gone: Swarm unleashes a large amount of bees from his composite being to attack surrounding enemies, dealing heavy physical damage.

SIR DANIEL FORTESQUE

Originating from the cult classic PlayStation exclusive 'MediEvil' series, Sir Daniel Fortesque was the historically remembered Hero of Gallowmere active in the 1200s.

Starting off as a noble knight who became the champion and eventual head of the royal battalion to the last recorded King of Gallowmere, Peregrin, Sir Daniel would tragically perish during the legendary Battle of Gallowmere against the evil sorcerer Zarok.

But while history would remember Sir Daniel as a heroic knight that helped to bring down the evil sorcerer Zarok for many years, he would in fact be the first to die prior to Zarok's forces being defeated.

Accidentally resurrected 100 years later in 1386 as a byproduct of Zarok's necromancy magics sweeping across the land, the now undead Sir Daniel would use this unexpected opportunity to do what he could to live up to his own legend, facing off against all sorts of supernatural threats in his quest to defeat Zarok for good.

Ultimately arriving at the sorcerer's highly guarded castle, Sir Daniel would clash with his old foe once again and actually succeeded in defeating him (being welcomed in the afterlife's Hall of Heroes on a job well-done).

And while he would be resurrected once again in 1886 to assist Professor Hamilton Kift to help defeat the ruthless Lord Palethorn (who had managed to uncover the long deceased Zarok's spellbook and unleashed untold horrors upon the world once more), Sir Daniel was able to defeat this new formidable foe just as effectively and return to the blissful afterlife once more, with the new equally undead Egyptian love of his life named Kiya by his side as they were newly sealed in his crypt.

However, true evil takes many forms and the world will always need a hero to defend it (no matter what the universe), much to Sir Daniel's dismay.

Awakening in the realm of the living once more after 120 years (within the very far future of 2006 on an alternate reality known as Earth-7150), Sir Daniel would climb up a mysterious staircase after newly equipping himself with his tried-and-true enchanted weaponry and opened the door, finding himself in a hallway which led to a living room on the right.

Visibly startling many friendly human and humanoid creatures alike on the other side upon his unexpected entrance, Sir Daniel did what he could to reduce the tension by waving his free bony hand and saying his best Hello in spite of his lower jaw missing, unprepared for the severity of the adventure to come...

-MediEvil 1 Dragon Armour and MediEvil 2 Super Armour models from PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale as potential second and third costumes
-A mannequin (preferably after Sir Dan's received at least one official skin).

BLOCK COMBOS:
Block + Jump (Victorian Explosives): Sir Daniel flings several Victorian-era bombs at surrounding enemies, dealing fire damage. Unlocked at Level 10.
Block + Action (MediEvil Armoury): Sir Daniel flings an enchanted axe at an unlucky target akin to a boomerang, dealing physical damage before returning to Sir Dan's hand. Unlocked at Level 17.
Block + Light Attack (Flaming Crossbow): Sir Daniel pulls out a Victorian-era crossbow from MediEvil 2 and fires several bolts, setting struck threats aflame for a time as fire damage is dealt. Unlocked at Level 20.
Block + Heavy Attack (MediEvil Daggers): Sir Daniel expertly throws several daggers at enemies, dealing physical damage to struck threats. Unlocked at Level 5.

MOVESET:
1. Lightning: Sir Daniel uses this incredible magical power to call down powerful bolts of lightning upon enemies to deal electricity damage. Mashing button will only generate one lightning bolt on a random target but fully charging will call down more bolts of lightning to strike more foes at once with a chance for instant kill!
2. Daring Dash: Sir Daniel quickly raises his large shield in front of him and performs a determined dash forward, dealing physical damage to any foe in his path.
3. MediEvil Slam: Sir Daniel pulls out an enchanted hammer that supposedly belonged to his reality's long-dead version of Thor, raising it above his head before slamming it down to the ground, generating a brief ring of fire around him as fire damage is dealt to surrounding foes.
4. Flintlock Barrage: Sir Daniel pulls out a surprisingly intact Victorian-era pistol from MediEvil 2 and fires it repeatedly at enemies, dealing physical damage as they're knocked back a bit from the blow.
5. Cane Rumble: Sir Daniel pulls out an enchanted cane sick from MediEvil 2, leaping into the air and slamming the ground with it as a magical shockwave is generated, dealing special damage to surrounding threats.
6. Victorian Ingenuity: Sir Daniel pulls out a custom-made gatling gun originally built for him in MediEvil 2 by Professor Hamilton Kift, continually firing at enemies and dealing physical damage (so long as button is held down).
7. Chalice of Souls: Sir Daniel briefly pulls out an unseen enchanted chalice, unleashing heroic spirits in the form of energy orbs that home in on enemies and explode on them, dealing special damage to struck targets.
8. Chicken Drumsticks: Sir Daniel utilizes a useful magic spell taught to him in MediEvil 1 to cast damaging magic that has a high chance to turn enemies into crates filled with food, providing an opportunity to earn some extra health orbs, energy orbs or SHIELD credits.
9. (Boost) Good Lightning: Utilizing powerful magic that he originally earned in MediEvil 1, Sir Daniel restores vitality for all allies and brings back any teammates that perished during a previous battle at the cost of all his available energy.
10. (Xtreme) Anubis Stone: Sir Daniel pulls out an incredibly powerful artifact originally forged millennia ago by his undead Egyptian girlfriend, Kiya, generating a green field around him briefly while a large green lightning bolt strikes down surrounding enemies, the shield's ancient magics transferring the resulting energy drained from enemies into Sir Daniel and his teammates to restore their own energy for use on other powers.

VOLDEMORT

The main antagonist of the original Harry Potter series, the dark wizard Voldemort was originally born on the 31st of December in 1926 as Tom Marvolo Riddle.

Raised in a Muggle-run orphanage after his mother, Merope Gaunt, died moments after giving birth to him from a love potion-affected Tom Riddle Senior, the young Tom was soon visited by Albus Dumbledore who informed him of his true heritage as a descendant of the wizard and Hogwarts founder, Salazar Slytherin.

Attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1938 after being sorted into the Slytherin house, Tom found himself following a path throughout his time at Hogwarts, that would come to define the rest of his life as he adopted racist ideals towards the Wizarding World and who deserved to study magic, in spite of hypocritically being a half-blooded wizard himself.

Spending several months after his graduation as a purchasing agent for the dark wizard artifacts shop, Borgin and Burkes within Knockturn Alley, Tom prepared to accomplish the unthinkable as he created an unprecedented seven 'Horcruxes', enchanted relics or beings considered important enough for him to contain varying portions of his soul in, effectively acquiring immortality at the price of his humanity.

Slipping deeper and deeper into the Dark Arts while taking up the new name of Voldemort, Tom would slowly amass an army of 'Death Eaters' who followed his every command as he sought to take over the Wizarding World and reshape it how he saw fit.

But one night in 1981, something unexpected happened as Voldemort proceeded to hunt down and kill the then infant Harry Potter in order to prevent a prophecy involving his definitive end from coming true, successfully managing to cruelly kill Harry's parents who selflessly fought to protect their infant son from the dangerous Dark Lord but was seemingly unable to kill Harry himself as Voldemort's own Killing Curse bounced back and hit him instead, destroying his original body.

Unfortunately, this would not be the end for Voldemort quite yet as he remained alive a disembodied soul without a body to call his own for thirteen years, remaining a silent but perpetual threat in the background until his loyal followers managed to capture Harry during the Triwizard Tournament in 1995, obtaining some of his blood for a potion that ultimately restored Voldemort in a new body, more powerful than ever.

However, Harry would continue to outsmart Voldemort and live to fight another day many times, both of them blissfully unaware that Voldemort had accidentally made Harry into a living eighth Horcrux all those years before with his failure to kill Harry as a baby.

Despite Voldemort's return to life proving disastrous for both the non-powered and magical worlds alike as he went on to slaughter countless innocence for the next three years, he would be ultimately defeated for good with the destruction of all his Horcruxes through the carefully planned actions of Harry and his friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in 1998.

For our current story however (taking place between the events of The Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows), this version of Voldemort would be none the wiser to his predestined fate in the months to come as he prepared to enact attacks across the Wizarding World.

Before he could set off from his hiding place at Malfoy Manor however, a mysterious dimensional tear from the alternate reality of Earth-7150 created by the equally dangerous supervillain Doctor Doom would suddenly appear and unleash red-coloured ninjas upon his meeting room.

Silently admiring the tenacity of this army of muggles who seemed to imbue themselves with a formidable dark power all their own, Voldemort ordered his followers to attack the invaders as one Killing Curse after another was cast to eradicate the threat of the ninjas claiming to desire them in their own ranks of the 'Hand'.

Curious to see where these bold invaders had come from, Voldemort proceeded to investigate and stepped through the tear without fear, finding himself on an entirely different world altogether while the tear sealed up behind him.

Recognizing that he was somewhere in the United States of America but sensing he was no longer in the world he knew so well, his attention would be drawn by an all too familiar voice who sounded horrified by his presence on this mysterious world.

Turning his head, Voldemort would be initially gleeful at the chance to kill his long-time foe who had proved a consistent thorn in his side, but was surprised to see that the Harry who stood to face him from a distance wasn't only visibly older and had his friends, Ron and Hermione by his side, but he also had a whole assortment of mysterious costumed men, women and humanoid creatures standing by his side, ready to face whatever he got if he tried to pull anything.

Demanding an explanation for where he was, who all these empowered people and creatures were and how Harry had two different versions of himself which varied in age stand before him without magic, his questions would ultimately be answered but with a frustrating level of vagueness by a formidable man known as Doctor Strange, the 'Sorcerer Supreme' of this world designated Earth-7150.

Voldemort threatening that he could kill them all with a mere thought, the older Harry could only laugh at his weak threats knowing full-well that this Voldemort must have been pulled from earlier in the Wizarding World timeline, not yet knowing of his eventual death in the future.

The older Harry cockily responding to Voldemort that he had no loyal Death Eaters here on this Earth and that this time he and his many new allies had the high ground (as teenagers with key-shaped swords, a young man and woman with different coloured energy swords, a powerful blue-coloured demon and a royal-looking prince among others got into a proper battle stance and drew or spawned their various different weapons to their hands to fight alongside Harry), they would be stopped by Doctor Strange and Doctor Voodoo as they stepped between Voldemort and the large alliance of characters from across the vast multiverse, firmly stating that they had bigger things to worry about than fruitlessly trying to settle evident old grudges.

Strange stating clearly that more and more beings from countless different universes were getting transported to their own every few minutes because of plans being currently enacted recklessly by a group calling themselves the Masters of Evil which threatened to wipe out all of existence entirely if they weren't stopped, Voldemort became visibly intrigued and curious about the levels of power this existential instability was bringing to this world and decided to play along for now, preparing to put a plan together to obtain all the power he could wield from the many dimensionally displaced individuals which he found himself reluctantly fighting alongside, once the current threat with the mysterious 'Doctor Doom' and his so-called 'Masters of Evil' group were properly put down...

4. Apparating Punishment: Voldemort uses his mastery of the Wizarding World's Apparation magics to move between enemies quickly, dealing physical damage as they're stunned briefly from the blows.
5. (Debuff) You-Know-Who: Voldemort casts a false memory charm which implants memories of fear into the minds of enemies, causing them to run away as their overall defence is reduced.

DARKMAN

Once a brilliant scientist named Doctor Peyton Westlake, the man who would eventually become Darkman was initially focused on helping victims of burns and scars with his invention of a synthetic skin.

However, frustratingly, the skin would melt after around an hour and a half.

Once he discovered it was due to sensitivity towards the light, Peyton was excited to figure out a way to bypass it, only for criminals to enter his lab and start ransacking it, beating him up in the process.

These were Robert J. Durant and his goons, in search of an incriminating document that Peyton's lawyer girlfriend, Julie Hastings, accidentally left at Peyton's place.

Durant killed Peyton's assistant, Yakitito, and had his thugs brutally burn Peyton alive before blowing up the lab, leaving him for dead.

However, this wasn't the end of Peyton's story.

Propelled by the explosion into the river and discovered as a John Doe, burned beyond recognition, Peyton was hospitalized and subjected to a radically experimental surgery removing his sense of touch to erase his physical pain, at the cost of his unchecked emotions and adrenaline giving him augmented strength.

Escaping, Peyton rebuilt his lab and planned to get revenge on Durant and his gang by using his synthetic skin technology to infiltrate their group and destroy them from the inside.

One by one, he directly or indirectly caused all of their deaths, culminating in a brutal battle with Durant's partner, Louis Strack, to save the life of Julie Hastings.

Ever since, Darkman has continued to fight crime, using the money he's stolen from criminals to fund his research into perfecting the synthetic skin so that it no longer melts in the light.

Most of the time, he had only ever fought against common criminals, save for an adventure where he fought a revived Durant and the Deadites alongside Ash Williams.

Now, he's pulled into the multiversal conflict that's involved so many other strange characters.

Though Darkman felt he could only contribute so much, he thought of what Doctor Doom and the Masters of Evil's victory would spell for Julie Hastings and his own hopes for the good his synthetic skin could do, and resolved to contribute everything he could to end Doom's threat, tapping back into his rage...

MOVESET:
1. Ten Men Strong: In an angry rush, Darkman grabs the closest enemy nearby and swings them around, knocking down surrounding enemies before he throws them away, dealing physical damage.
2. Skip Leg Day: Darkman retrieves the weapon of a fallen enemy named Skip, using his machine gun hidden in a prosthetic leg to gun down enemies, dealing physical damage continuously (so long as button is held down).
3. Darkened: Darkman throws down a smoke grenade, dealing damage within the area he threw it on.
4. (Debuff) Boss's Orders: Darkman imitates Doctor Doom’s speech patterns and throws his voice, ordering enemies to report, causing them to run off and seek Doctor Doom out.
5. (Debuff) Melting Minute: Darkman’s timer goes off, revealing the enemy closest to him to be an animated skeletal mannequin, now defunct, that he disguised with his synthetic skin, which melts. The shock and fright lowers the strength and defenses of Darkman’s enemies.
6. (Boost) Shadowy Strength: Darkman casts his shadow and focuses his rage, temporarily gaining more movement speed, damage resistance, and striking damage.
7. (Boost) Gangway: Darkman disguises himself and his team as members of Robert Durant’s gang, allowing them to pass by enemies as if invisible.
8. (Xtreme) Dark Madness: Darkman throws down a smoke grenade and flies into a murderous rage, attacking all enemies on screen at his top strength and speed, with a small chance of knockdown or instant kill.

Darkman’s obscurity is something that always bothered me, but at the same time made him more special, made me appreciate him more. He’s certainly unique; equal parts superhero and horror monster, created by Sam Raimi because he wanted to make movies about Batman and The Shadow, but he couldn’t secure the rights.

He’s had a few video game appearances before, way back on the NES. As I understand it, they were decent, yet difficult. I can’t help but feel MUA is a better fit for him.

Plus, not only is he in a game better suited to the feats from his source material, but he now finally gets to team up with other superheroes and fight supervillains. I think he’d actually fit in Marvel very well, alongside street level heroes like Daredevil and Punisher, fighting villains like Kingpin and Bullseye.

I highly recommend everyone interested to watch the original Darkman movie if you can. It’s still a treat even nowadays.

While I personally enjoy the two direct to video sequels, I admit they’re not nearly as good, and extremely cheesy, even by Sam Raimi standards (though admittedly he was only so involved in those ones). At least the first sequel has Larry Drake as Robert Durant again, which is a real treat.

Finally, I recommend the Darkman vs Army of Darkness comic miniseries, where he teams up with Ash Williams. That I can gladly say is extremely enjoyable.

There are some other Darkman comics and some novels, which I haven’t had the chance to check out, though I hope to someday; I can’t speak to their quality.

RON WEASLEY

The first of Harry Potter's best friends, Ron Weasley was the sixth of seven children who frequently displayed a solid sense of humour and reliable street smarts of the wizarding world.

But in spite of his positive outlook, Ron harbored many inherent insecurities which often came back to bite him in the form of immature emotional outbursts which were levelled against his friends or family members and put a strain on his connections with people that could last months at worse.

However when his back was often pushed into a corner during his seven years at Hogwarts, Ron consistently maintained bravery and loyalty to those he cared about while being simultaneously scared out of his wits, stepping up when the situation called for it.

Joining Harry Potter and Hermione Granger to stop the theft of the Philosopher's Stone, assisting in the eventual saving of his sister Ginny from being possessed by a past version of Voldemort and significantly contributing to the definitive end of Voldemort among other major events in his life, Ron would gradually come into his own as a talented wizard and grew above much of his lifelong insecurities.

Becoming an Auror for the Ministry of Magic some time after graduating from Hogwarts alongside Harry and Hermione, Ron would work with his long-time friends to reform and revolutionise the Ministry of Magic for a more modern era, before leaving to co-manage the wizarding world joke store, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, with his older brother George (George's twin brother Fred having tragically perished during the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998 prior).

Now 26 years old, Ron relishes in the era of peace brought upon by the defeat of Voldemort alongside countless other wizards and muggles across the world, soon finding himself brought back into Ministry of Magic business by the timely visit of Harry and Hermione (who wanted to have him with them for old times' sake during a multiversal mission to a different universe entirely, who required as much help as they could to stop a grave threat which risked wiping out all of existence forever if it wasn't stopped).

Brought up to speed about their mysterious contact being the apparent 'Sorcerer Supreme' of Earth-7150, Ron would make the dimensional jump with Harry and Hermione to this new Earth, prepared to face anything that got in their way of restoring multiversal peace...

5. (Debuff) Stink Pellets: Ron magically leaps into the air and throws several popular wizarding prank items at surrounding enemies, dealing minor damage to enemies but leaves them stunned for a long time as a result of the awful smell.
6. (Boost) Weasley Touch: In reference to Prisoner of Azkaban's console game releases, Ron is able to reliably reveal nearby enemy positions on the map while magically reducing energy cost for entire team.
7. (Debuff) Lumos Duo: Ron casts a spell which generates a very bright yellow light from his wand briefly, stunning surrounding enemies temporarily while lowering their damage output as they're temporarily blinded.
8. (Xtreme) Mucus Projectum: Inspired by cut content from Prisoner of Azkaban's console game releases, Ron casts a powerful spell which generates disgusting mucus that deals damage whilst ensnaring all on-screen enemies to the ground.

GWEN STACY

Throughout the Marvel multiverse, Gwen Stacy is best known as the first true love of the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, and daughter of police captain George Stacy, who, like her father, tragically perished during Spider-Man's battle with a supervillain.

In more recent years, she's become more popular in the form of an alternate universe version known as Spider-Gwen, where she was gifted with spider powers instead of Peter, who became the villainous Lizard and died while fighting her.

However, this version of Gwen Stacy who now joins MUA is not from any universe that has been seen before until now.

In a life very similar to the one she has in The Amazing Spider-Man films, where her and Peter's Spider-Man are closer than ever before, both are still alive, deeply in love, and working together to make New York and the world a safer place.

Like many other versions of Spider-Man and other characters who have found their way into MUA, their adventures eventually included explorations of the multiverse.

While aware of the threat that Doctor Doom and the Masters of Evil posed to it, which was the obvious priority, Gwen's previous searches in these alternate realities unearthed a discovery that deeply disturbed her and Peter.

It seemed that throughout the multiverse, variants of Peter and Gwen, at least one of whom has spider powers, fall in love, only for one of them to die, and the survivor to move on with another partner.

Refusing to believe that this was some sort of fated canon event, Gwen and Peter explored further.

Apparently, some powerful, unseen evil force was at work to keep their variants apart, inevitably by death.

Gwen and Peter discovered it was because they and their variants were deeply heroic as individuals, but even greater forces for good together, and if they stayed together long enough, they would one day have children who would grow up to become even greater heroes than they were.

Using her intellect and resources to find a way to tap into the abilities of her multiversal counterparts, Gwen joined Peter in helping fight Doctor Doom and the Masters of Evil, determined to secure the couple's future together afterwards...

4. Symbiote Flail: Channeling Gwenom, Gwen's Venom symbiote tendrils flail out in a radial attack, damaging all surrounding enemies.
5. (Boost) Valedictorian Speech: Gwen inspires her team to persevere against opposition, causing them to regain some energy and temporarily boosting momentum and defense.
6. (Boost) Lizard Serum: Having altered the formula of Doctor Connors to work for it's intended purpose at great difficulty, Gwen brings the team back to full health and revives fallen teammates, at the cost of all of her available energy for a long period of time.
7. (Boost) Ultimate Carnage: Channeling Ultimate Carnage, Gwen uses the Carnage symbiote from the Ultimate Marvel universe, giving her increased melee damage, defense, and movement speed.
8. (Xtreme) Ghost Spider: Channeling Spider-Gwen, Gwen releases a large net of webbing that ensnares all enemies on screen and holds them in place, then quickly strikes several enemies once.
