Why would the rich want nothing? Wouldn't they be greedy and want more, as that is their stereotypical nature?

nope. i know most of ur riddles come from the hobbit so i use the hobbit!

four prisoners are placed in a room. Each has a hat that is white or black. They are all free if only one of them can say exactly in one try what color is his hat. they are placed like this:

no one can move
1 is facing right and 2,3 and 4 are facing left
they can all see the colors of the hats in front of them but not behind (ex: 4 can see 3 and 2, 3 can see 2 but not 4 etc)
between 1 and 2 is a wall. 1 cannont see trough it and 2 too
wich one will save them?
(and how, to see if it is not a lucky guess)

they are not super human but they are intelligent so use logic

By seeing 2 & 3's hats, he realizes the pattern which is b w b w and therefore can say exactly which hat is in front of the other.
