Wasn't sure how into artists/comics everyone was beyond the games they are created from, but on June 27th, Michael Turner passed away. He was diagnosed with cancer back in 2000 and had been fighting with it on and off the last 8 years. I've been a fan of his a long time, particularly his Spider-man and Black Panther work for Marvel. And was really looking forward to the release of one of his Aspen comics called Ekos.

I had a chance to meet him at the Baltimore Comicon a few years back and he was a really cool guy. It was then that I learned he had cancer and felt kind of bad that he had people trying to get him to sign hundreds of comics at a time. But he was pretty great and signed way more than I expected anyone to.

RIP I was a huge fan of his artwork

Wow, if shafcrawler liked him that means he must be really good, since shaf is our master at artwork and sculpture.

Dude, come on! I'm nowhere near as good as these ACTUAL artists. Though I really did like his work. Especially his Superman with Supergirl work and his covers (like the DC Identity Crisis covers and his infamous X-Men #500 chase cover that I spent a fortune getting). God rest his soul.

You are without doubt the best at it in this community.

Which means he must have been the best comic artist around.

oh my god.

Wow they look amazing! He indeed must have been as good as all of you said he was. So he did work for both Marvel & DC?

Yep. I'm still waiting on when my copy of UXM500 will be delivered. With Turner's passing, it makes it all the more worthwile to spend as much as I HAVE getting this copy. I couldn't get the female variant cover, though. I realy wanted that.

try to look for pictures at the internet and save on your PC,thats not the same thing of having, but still....
