WTF? Carnage, recognizable on a mass appeal basis? NOBODY, from my girlfriend, to my mom, to my friend at work, nobody even knows the character. OK, he ranked high on a specific poll, but that's quite far from "mass appeal".

Well, who's more likely to get DLC: yout girlfriend, your mom, your friend at work or that 25 year old guy who grew up watching the Spider-Man animated series, and just so happens to be earning his own money, enough to assist to comic-con and answer some random poll?

I'm probably in the minority but I don't like Cable.  I think he's over hyped and as far as more interesting Marvel characters are concerned, a poor choice for DLC.  Carnage is just a stupid character I think.  I mean sure a psychotic serial killer who mutters lines like "dinner time" might be amusing for all of 30 seconds, but seriously we already have Venom playable in the game.  I've had my fill of Spider-Man playable villains, and they had to add another?  To me Carnage isn't appealing whatsoever.  It still annoys me to no end seeing villains in the "HERO select menu".

If VV are that gung-ho on making villains playable, then maybe they should come out with a villain game like MUA, except you control the villains who are fighting the heroes for control of the world.  I dunno.  I'd just rather see other hero characters who are more deserving of a spot in the game than some random over hyped and uninteresting villains.  Like Punisher for instance, how did they make 2 MUA games and not include him yet?  Blasphemy I say.  That's just unacceptable.
Some day, someone will best me.  But it won't be today, and it won't be you.

THQ still has exclusive rights to Punisher for a few more years.

Back on topic - I'm pretty much set on not buying the game now.  Too bad, I was really looking forward to quality DLC, but from the looks of it the data shows that totally random, semi-popular characters are better than classic staples.  If it comes out on PC I'll buy it, but no more 360 version for me.  It's a definite rent-n-return.

Seconded. Why not a Daredevil crazy killer villain? We'd all love to have Bullseye instead of Carnage, no? Taskmaster? Deathstrike, maybe? Having Spiderman and Venom playable in the same game is overkill already.

They messed up the bodystructure again :\ I'm wondering why they are going for tall upperbodies and small legs...

Suit is nice though. And he has a different look from his main skin.

Nice work on the costume, VV.  The only critique I can give this time around are that his arm doesn't look like steel, but more like ice (should be shiny and more silver-y) and his face has become a little too tough, making him a bit old and similar to Walter Matthau.

Off-topic from Cable but still on the subject -- I just want to say for the record that I think Vicarious Visions did a good job overall.  The problem is that this game was too big for them, and they subsequently couldn't live up to expectations.  Now if they had, say 1.5 times the amount of people (and wouldn't let their less talented modelers do character models) then they could have made this game epic.  I feel like it deserves it's 73% average rating -- but that if they had more people and better talent it could have easily been 90% or more.  It's just one of those "so close, but so far away" situations.  That's why I get so irritated.  They could have done so much better, but they bit off more than they could chew.

Don't forget to mention that his face looks like it was made out of rubber.

It's got to be just 1-2 bad modelers that have done these terrible models.  Most characters look awesome, it's just probably 10-15 human/biped models total that have strange issues.  Like Black Widow.... WOOF WOOF!

Comic version:

MUA2 version:

Yeah, the only two models I really don't like are Black Widow and Maria Hill (Because her skin has no structure, it's only one colour).

Actually, my gf's brother is a gamer, has played mua2 on ps3 with me, didn't know Carnage, but won't get DLC anyway because he just didn't like the game very much. So you might be right: the majority of people who'll get DLC for MUA2 does have to have some kind of passion for these characters. But even then, Carnage feels like a mistake to me, because there were better choices left, but I know that's a whole different point.

What do you guys think about Black Panther? I don't like his sword.

I dont like the sword either (im guessing its suppose to be the Ebony Blade), i've been reading Black Panther since Storm married him and i can only remember him using it during the skrull invasion. I think of him more as an agile clawed fighter, then a sword wielding fighter.

My mods are mine to booster/update, I will not give anybody permission to do it

I gotta say I dug it. I could live with BP as a sword wielding fighter. (Since I pretty much grew up watching japanese super-heroes - many, many of them, sword wielding figthers themselves -, I tend to like this kind of aesthetic.)

I don't have anything against heroes with swords like Black Knight, but I think it doesn't fit well on Black Panther. He uses his claws in one power and in the other one he uses the sword. That's a weird fighting style.

I agree with you on this.
So far, I like Carnage, Psylocke and Cable. I like their alt skin aswell. I hope the last two of the five will be good too.
