yes you will need to decompile the herostat and recompile it, unless you use HeroSelect,
you can post your questions if you have any more in another thread, as this thread is not really for these kinds of questions.

I don't know if Cates still updates the mod list, but I've added the Vision, Dazzler, Mysterio, and Omega Red mods to the list.  I was also thinking that the format of the mod list should be revised. Here are my thoughts:

1. only create 2 categories - package mods and individual mods
2. alphabetize the individual mods (to make searching easier)
3. add "last updated" to the description
4. identify "safe mods", which are mods that don't overwrite any of the original game files (excluding the herostat which must be edited by the downloader himself).
5. create a rating system (I know several of the mods link to a discussion topic, but many of those posts deal with the mod creation process and not with feedback)
6. allow the creator of the mod to update the download link (maybe this is already allowed. i know moderators can edit Cates' post but I'm not sure if marvel modders have the same permissions).

Umm, does Cates still update the catalog? I've not seen Dark_Mark's Magneto or Venom, Buddhabear's Blackbolt, boreman's X-Mods Marvel Girl and Pete Wisdom, Boy Sanga's Capt. Britain, BliZZ's QS and Namor, and all the things boreman listed in the previous page. Maybe a moderator can add these in if Cates can't find the time.

a side note...

i'm not sure if its my installation

I installed and used 'magneto' and he started like 6 levels of the first 2 abilities...

but none of his stuff had graphic icons... and none of his powers worked... is there a problem with the magneto mod listed on the front page? *has looked elsewhere in the forums and didn't see anything* of course i'm half blind so

Which Magneto Mod did you download? I remember someone said cvc's had some bugs in the talents file. You can try a new version by Dark Mark.
