We have one of those ornamental cherry blossom trees in the house my parents live in. I wanted to know what's the best way to be able to grow another one in the house i'm moving into a couple of miles away.

I'm pretty sure it's not as easy as burying a branch of the tree as i am very clueless on gardening as whole. I tried to search google but couldn't find anything that looked like it be a good place, at least not that I looked, so i figured i'd ask on the sites i frequent if anyone knows a good place to go.

There is more than one type of ornamental cherry tree.  The two that I'm familiar with are snow fountain cherry (which blooms in very early spring with white blossoms) and weeping cherry (which blooms in early spring with pink blossoms).  Both of these trees are grafted -- you can't reproduce them with seeds or burying a branch.  Here are a couple of articles that might help:

Ah thank you, see i wouldn't have even known that, but it does make sense.

So i'll just have to work on tracking down a new one.  The one we do have is one of the pink blossom one and it blooms in early spring. Usually a week after the ones in Washington DC. It was planted there by the previous owner before our family moved there. So now i'll look for a new one to plant

Edit: It could appear i could buy and have one shipped for 74 US dollars, so that's not bad at all.

Yes i live in Maryland, right outside of Baltimore, and i'm moving to a place a little further south.

I just wondered since you emphasized 74 "US Dollars."  It sounded like you were living in another country.  :)

I have that habit from talking to people from other countries often. I'm used to typing the additional "US" before dollars

Anyway, thanks again for helping me become less of a gardening newbie.
