Okay, so a while back I saw this topic, in which Teancum had ripped a few (many, to be honest) sounds from MUA2 for PS2, and he said:

If you want to rip more yourself, use an app called PSound (available here). I will not be providing a tutorial as I'm going to now properly rip the MUA1 DLC audio.

It caught a lot of my attention, especially since MUA2 has a lot of cool voice-overs, and I wanted to see how the MUA1 veterans sounded like since most of them had new VO's (Spider-Man, for example). I decided to download the software, and succesfully ripped a couple sounds (believe me, there are tons of it!), so I thought "if Mr. T isn't going to make a tutorial, then why not Mr. M here?". So, let's begin, shall we?

What you'll need:
- PSound
- This .rar file (It has all the _m/_v soundsets from MUA2 that I ripped from the .iso file)

So first of all, don't even bother opening those files with zsmeditor as it will not recognize them, I repeat, do not bother opening those files with zsmeditor.

Ok, I think you understood that, didn't you? Next thing, you open up PSound (don't worry if you get the following message, it's normal, just hit OK and proceed).

Clilck on File, then Scan and select the desired .zsm/.zss file from the downloaded .rar file you unpacked.

The following window should open, just hit start and, once it's finished, close.

Each line corresponds to a .wav file from the _m/_v soundset, double-clicking it will play said file.

Now comes the tricky part, you will notice that some files will play extremely high-pitched, to fix that, you must go to the options tab and click on configure. A new window will show up, you will need to check the "Force to" box and change the frequency to 11025Hz.

If done correctly, the high-pitched files should play just fine, and the normal ones will be low-pitched, just return the frequency to 22050Hz to fix them.

Now to export the file(s), just select the ones you want to export, click on File, then Convert... and save it, just like the image below.

And voilá, you successfully ripped a sound clip from a MUA2 soundset!

Now here are some notes:
- Before adding the corrected high-pitched files to your new soundset, I think you might need to change the frequency to 22050Hz in audacity, format factory or a similar program in order for them to play correctly (Format Factory is the quickest way IMO).
- The corrected high-pitched files will have an inferior quality when compared to the normal ones, I don't know how to fix that, I think it's normal.

I don't know why people complain so much about MUA2 voices, most of them are pretty good IMO, such as Daredevil's, Spidey's, Human Torch's etc.

Can you do on MUA1 one? Since some of them like Thor, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, Storm, Moon Knight & Colossus, even some of Mephisto's mission sounds of Nick Fury (thx Prof X) & Mephisto (during his first battle after escaping the hordes of the minions) are missing something

I've made some tests with the MUA1 PSP soundsets of Thor and Hawkeye, turns out that for the _v file the frequency must me set to 18900Hz, but even with that one the files play slightly high-pitched. From the default frequency values, 18900Hz is the closest one to making the files play normally, however, when I set it to 17900Hz (I typed it) the files seemed to play normally, but I'm not sure if that's the correct frequency; and for the _m file it needs to be set to 11025Hz, I think it applies to all the PSP soundsets.

To get the _m/_v soundsets from MUA1 PSP, they are located in the PSP_GAME\USRDIR\sounds\eng path in the .iso file, I'm not going to post them because they are way too big (1 GB uncompressed and 900 MB compressed, not worth it)

This is the closest thing I'll do regarding PSP soundsets, as they don't interest me that much. I won't be doing anything regarding the PS2 soundsets because their sounds are pretty much the same from the PC version (if not less), I only did something about the PSP because of its exclusives.

That never happened to me before, mediafire deleted only 2 of the 8 screenshot files, weird... I guess I'll have to use the sta.sh instead then, I'll update the images once I have time.

About the DLC sounds, I can't do anything regarding them as I don't know how to rip XBOX360 sound files (zsmeditor does not recognize them).

UPDATE: I uploaded the missing files and made a small modification to the first part of the tutorial, instead of clicking on File\Open, you can click directly on File\Scan, may be a small detail, but saves you from seeing another error message ;)

I have the tools to rip the DLC sounds, I just haven't taken the time. It's only useful for DLC characters' voices. I didn't find any hidden sounds, and it doesn't work for MUA2 360.

You mean like this one? http://zenhax.com/viewtopic.php?t=1075

:) quickbms was it? i know how to do it. Just wandering around google to find the info about ripping 360's zsm/zss & unexpectedly found this by luck. Never heard this website before <D

Only left is to learn on converting XMA to WAV. Success Converting All 360 GE/DLC & PSP (also included in 360) XMA sounds, but Doom's V, Hulk's M & Venom's M seems to have some error on a certain file, which cannot be converted from 360's ZSM/ZSS file for some reason. Venom on the other hand, possibly my hard disk space.

UPDATE: Okay got it now. THX Teancum + Aluigi too
