best way to make the game harder besides altering enemy stats

are there ways of making the console versions harder like on psp im not going to bother raising the defense stat on the costumes

You can give basic enemies better move sets and give all enemies the ability to block attacks

Im talking about the psp version so hacking enemy stats is not possible
