Flight doesn't really matter to me but I haven't had a chance to test them out yet as my game hasn't finished d/ling.

pyro's fire bats from XL1 looked pretty cool though

Well if you don't care about flight pyro seems better since there less brotherhood members and I don't see sunfire important, But then again hes a story breaker and sunfire has more skins. Plus fire bats cool. I prefer sunfire mainly cause flight.

Sunfire - can fly, pyro can't
Pyro - can shoot bats that AUTO TARGET, sunfire can't do either

Pick which one you prefer.

I actually like both, what I do plan on is doing a booster for both and maybe give Pyro some different looking effects so he can be seen as a very different character.  I will do the same for sabretooth.

if you want you can use what i did here http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=1587.0 , i just used some of his mua effects, so at least those are unique to him

about pyro, most of his xml1 effects look similar to his xml2. the only difference is his flamethrower effect, but it doenst fit with his xml2 animation.
