no, not even generally. maybe true for mutants, but not the rest of marvel. plus, all the most powerful ones are men: Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Blackbolt, Dr Strange, Silver Surfer, X-Man, Gladiator, Quasar, Nova. Seems that women only get that powerful when they get crazy or something (Jean and Wanda).

That's not true, characters like Jean Grey (without Phoenix), Storm, Emma Frost, Ms. Marvel and Invisible Woman, (just to mention some of the leading ladies from today) are strong by their own, and do not need a man or to be crazy or something to be powerfull.
The fact that none of the current writers is intelligent enough to handle them and use them in a different way than just as a background to their partners (Emma and Storm), a support character (Ms. Marvel and Sue) or a dead old memory (Jean), well my friend that's another story.

I believe in evolution of species.

cant agree more, although i do think they did miss M a bit of justice in MUA2 Sue still stays the same old ''yeah i be here in the background creating forcefields for fun okay?'', she is pretty darn powerful, but writers took her intelligence hostage
