Personally I have no such character. I will look that you tell.

Wolverine -- he seems so overrated.  I have never understood his popularity.

I don't know. He isn't bad.

agree 100% with you fox456.  He is wayyyyy to overrated.  I don't mind his character and personallity but I hate it when things always center around him.  Like how he is always one of the cover characters for games and for movies and such.  Even though x-men like storm, rogue, jean, and cyclops are popular, they aren't the ones "on the cereal box" so to speak.  Granted, though, jean does get a lot of storyline attention, but she isn't always the one in the spot light on games and movies.  For instance with the movie posters for x-men 1, 2, and 3, wolverine is in all three posters, but jean is only in the xmen 1 and 3 posters, also wolverine either is in the front center (in the case with xmen 3 even though the movie had a lot to do with jean, who is like in the very back of the poster), or he has one of the biggest pictures (in the case with the x2 movie).  So yeah that's why I agree with fox456.

Jean Grey. Overrated. Started out from a pretty normal character, and now it's just...too much. I prefer her buried.

I really don't see Jean being to overrated. I honestly don't. Maybe during the Phoenix Saga, yes but of course she will be the center of attention. Just look at the 90s was Jean the main star for every arc? Even for New X-Men was she, because from what I know she wasn't. Even Wolverine wasn't the main star each time for the X-Books (in the 90s time period), but often he tended to get the spotlight during battle stuff.

Wolverine has become overrated due to the fact that he is on every X-Book these days when he really isn't needed, a bunch of other marvel teams, and used in lunchboxes, cereal boxes, toys, books, posters, etc. and of course movies and cartoons. The movies titled X-Men really should have been Wolverine and the X-Men. He's just a cash cow so like Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, etc. people use them a lot.

These days I do think that Wolverine, Cyclops, and Emma are used for everything. Like every X-book, and every page for them, and most of the time they are not needed. What makes it worse is that the last 2 are horribly written these days.

Anyway who do I hate. Fraction's Cyclops and Emma. Worst deciptions of 2 great characters ever imo.

I don't think Jean is overrated either. she has her moments in the spotlight, but she's been absent among the x-men for years in more than one occasion. she's not like the immortal and omnipresent wolverine, truth of the matter she dies all the time. people here may think she's overrated, but it's cause in this forum she is. we have a lot of jean fans, disproportional to the reality among x-fans around the world. also, our jean fans are disproportionally obsessive as well :P. every topic ends up being bout her and there are several mods for her. we have a lot of deadpool fans as well, but you don't see that happening.

well, there are a couple of characters I don't like. Wolverine is a fine character, but the constant hype about him is extremely annoying indeed. I dislike Bishop and Cable, just cause these hugely pumped up guys with even huger guns is just so 90's. I dislike those characters that are spin-off of characters that already have way too many spin-offs, like Rulk, A-Bomb, the Jean look-a-likes, X-23, Romulus, Jack Flag, Free Spirit, Araña and so on. I also dislike characters that don't really have a purpose or have unoriginal overused powers, like Match.

"Beneath this mask there are ideals and ideals are bulletproof."

One thing about Jean that is overrated though is her constant deaths and resurrections.

I also don't think that Jean is overrated as a character, the thing is that she has one of the most... passionate fanbase (to say the least), some of them are polite and nice but almost all are insanely obsessed with her and want her to be on everything. That's why many people think she's overrated, because other than that she seems normal (and kind of "meh" sometimes) for me, except Morrison's Jean who in my opinion is the best characterization of her (until the Phoenix merged with her again).

I don't hate any X-Character, but I find really anoying some of them like Wolverine (who is on everything) or Bishop.
@Marvelfan12345. I would never call characterization to what Fraction has done to Cyclops and Emma Frost, luckily for me "Astonishing X-men" and many other comics where both appear as "guest stars" always remind me why I love these 2.
Phoenix Force: No. He loves Emma Frost.  He loves me.
Jean Grey: He wants her. Not you. Not US. And now it's time... to leave this behind.
Phoenix Endsong #5

It would be Blob he just a big fat donkey and he is stupid but if were talking about Like Good guys X-men then it would be no one. I love all the X-men

Certainly, this question is a matter of taste of each of us. About Jean, I find it more than the normal character. Simply she is very popular, and such people are or favourites of all, or on the contrary.

Wolverine is definitely overrated in films and cartoon/animation but i was fine with him in the earlier comics. I actually hate duplicate characters! 4 example, why do we need Bishop or Shard when there's Cyke & Maddie's son Cable (who has a better story arc imo). Why do we need X-23 when we have Logan and Deathstrike or Zealot if we already had Avalanche & Rictor (who has simular powers). The attension that was given to these duplicate characters could have been used to promote the already existing ones... what a waste imo.

1 question: Why you think, he is overrated? Yes, he is very strong, but not overrated.
I hate Pyro. He is so arogant and stupid...

I was fine with wolverine in the comics and shows until everything started revolving around him.  Heck the x-men films were called the wolverine movies by some people.  And look at the recent x-men cartoon Wolverine and the X-men, if you notice the title shot Wolvie is front and center and his name is twice as big as the X-men.  It's like the shnkt bub and his backup singers show.  Plus he appears on so many non x-men games it's silly.  Spider-man web of shadows had spidey (main character) venom (main villian) and wolverine on the cover.  These days the guy hogs the spotlight more than the Uchihas from Naruto.   Definitley overrated and overused.
