Been thinking about this after I saw a youtube fan made vid of emma and cyke which casted Ali Larter as Emma. I almost threw up. The actress who played Emma was okay in X-Men Origins but really its hard to have an opinion on her as the film took place when Emma was alot younger. To me Finola Hughes is STILL the bench mark and a high one at that.Although the Generation X movie itself sucked big time there was one thing that stood out about it and that was Finola. Her portrayal of Emma was flawless and in the same league as Patrick & Ian's portrayal of Xavier and Magneto. I Can definitely see her butting heads with them and squaring off with Famke. Plus I strongly believe Emma should be played by a Brit like Finola was with a respectable theater background. When I see all these videos made casting post american teen flick stars like Ali as Emma it makes my me scream. If they ever do another X-Men movie I think they should go looking for Finola first. If Bryan had done X3, I think Sigourney Weaver would have looked too old so I'm glad she was left out of Ratners versions. Plus like I said I really think Emma should have an authentic British accent What do you guys think?
I really like finola as an actress, but she can't be emma no more, she's too old. we should think bout someone who'd be a romantic pair for james marsden.
I always thought of rebeca romjin as the perfect emma, but she's mystique already.
what were they thinking with the sigourney weaver thing? I don't know what drug they were on, but I gotta try some of that stuff.
maybe charlize theron?
To me, Ali Larter is the best choice for her, she's more or less in the same age of James Marsden and Famke Jansen, she's also a beautiful blonde, and a great actress, she could easily learn the british accent.
Finola Huges and Sigourney Weaver? both are great actresses but, do you really think that both could be the best choices to play one of the sexiest marvel women of all time? I'm sorry but, I don't think so...
I'm agree with Nowhere Man, Rebeca Romjin is another actress that could be a great Emma, but she's Mystique so she's out.
Charlize is a great option, too.
I read in another forums that Kristin Chenoweth is also an option for Emma, but I don't know, I'm still prefer Ali Larter...
Here's Ali:

I still think that she's perfect for the role, what do you think?
:emmafrost:
I like Ali Larter, but definitely not for Emma, no.
I'd take Sigourney Weaver over her any day.
And well, I personally think that Nicollette Sheridan would be a fine Emma (I mean the X-Men Legends Emma) but I'm sure there are better choices out there.
And Finola is a fantastic actress and she did Emma justice, but she's a bit too old now.
Well actually Finola isn't that old. She's only 4 years older than Famke who played Jean and has about 6 years on Halle so to me that isn't old at all. And I definitely think Emma should have a touch of maturity and class about her over youthful young sexiness. Actresses like Nicole and Ali as good as they are are best known for cheesy roles i.e Desperate House Wives and Heroes. Emma needs to look credible.
Hers a clip of Emma in the Generation X movie for all those who haven't seen it

Yeah, Finola is ok, but I really like the Astonishing version of Emma Frost, that's the right one for me, the kinda sarcastic and cool kind of Emma.
That's how I see her :D

I've seen the movie. Well, not the best. Okay, quite lame. I think there won't be anything like X-Men 4, but there will be X-Men Origins movies. I mean, many characters died and some characters lost their powers (Okay, just Mystique and Magneto, but at the end, Magneto had a little of his powers.).

What about Rogue?
I never really got what happened with her.
And didn't Magneto move that pawn when he was playing chess, or whatever?
Yes, IMO Magneto got his powers back and wasn't there two endings? The one where Rogue took the cure and then the other where she didn't? At least on DVD had alternate ending. I can't remember which one was in the movie though
They will all get their powers back. The affect is not temporary. Leech doesn't have that kind of power hence why Magneto was able to move that chest piece. If you look deeper into the last stand you will be able to identify the moral. Which was "There ain't no cure for who you are"

Yes she need to look mature and classy but she must be sexy too since is one of her singular characteristics.

Agree, her Astonishing version is perfect, sarcastic, bitchy and cool. I want to see that version too.
By the way I saw the clip of Generation X movie and still don't like Finola Hughes for Emma Frost...
:emmafrost:
Wait, did I left out something? You guys talk about this thing, like if X-Men 4 was announced and they said, that there will be Emma Frost in it.
This topic is called:
"If An X-Men 4 Movie was ever made who would you want to play Emma Frost?"
We are just talking about who actress we would like to see as Emma, and I don't know but since a young version of her was recruited by Xavier in Wolverine origins, I think that she has chances to be in the Xmen first class movie who was already announced...

Sorry, my bad, don't hurt me. But, right, she has a chance for that.
She needs to be the real Emma Frost and not that horrible deception of Emma in Origins
I just thought of a great actress to play emma and even the greatest emma fan I know - whiteking - liked her. Sarah Jane Morris.
she's 32, she has a great body, is a great actress and she really looks like a real life Greg Horn version of emma.
My new number 1 choice =D
What about Cate Blanchett?
Sarah Jane Morris is probably the best suggestion I've seen on here? She's on Brothers and sisters right?
yes she is
Quote from: piutebob on September 04, 2009, 01:28PM

Cate Blanchett?? I only remember her from Galadriel (LotR) and I'm not sure if I could watch her playing Emma without expecting her to go dark and shout: "Instead of Dark Lord, you would have a Queen!! Not dark but beautiful and something something something" :D
Beside, isn't she sort of old?
I don't know how old she is... I think she played in the newest Indiana Jones and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button...

She's not too old, she has 40 years old, but I don't know, although she's an amazing actress I don't see her as Emma, but who knows?
She's 40? Wow, I thought more, early thirties...
I don't really see Cate Blanchett as Emma.
Too kind looking, not flirty enough.

X-Men First Class seems to be the next installment. Which is actually totally story breaking.
What does this have to do with Emma?
well, she's usually a teacher, maybe she'll be the new responsible for the team.
but I think what he meant is that maybe we shouldn't keep our hopes up bout X4, maybe it won't even be made.
Hmm. Perhaps teacher. But really what could she offer without her tp. I hope not student as she seems to know how to use her diamond power in Origins and that is before Cyke joined the X-Men
The only way to save Emma is for a reboot, but it seems they are too busy making movies for this series that it is doubted.

that's a longshot :P! she's supposed to be the same age as jean or scott.

Really. She looked like a grown-woman but I never saw the movie only pics. She still would be older as she looks older than the young Scott.
Yes, she's even younger than Jean, I told you that with some proves remmember??? :P
Talking about the movie, in the page that Blaw posted, it says that the moviel will focus on the young mutants from the previews films (Rogue, Iceman, Colossus, Shadowcat) which mean that Jean, Scott and Storm will continue as the teachers, and if Emma is included she probably will be a teacher as well...
Quote"X-Men: First Class" is expected to inject a next-gen sensibility into the superhero series. - The studio has been leaning toward using the younger characters introduced in the previous films in future installments --teenagers with powers taught at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning.
Resulting film would likely draw from elements of the Marvel Comic of the same name, launched in 2006, and enlist such characters as Iceman, Rogue, Angel, Colossus, Jubilee and Shadowcat, who have appeared prominently or made cameos in prior pics.
Quotewhich mean that Jean, Scott and Storm will continue as the teachers
aren't jean and scott dead?

Yes, but I'm sure that both will be back soon, people love them and in fact, everytime that Jean is killed or something, she always rise again, lol.
I suppose that Scott will do the same, not sure how, lol.
This is before X1. I bet in X4 they will both be back. Can't just kill of two of the heart and soul of the X-Men for too long.
Also Whiteking I mean in the movie. In the comics she is younger but I mean the movie. In Origins isn't she a grown-up while Scott (and most likely Jean and Ororo) young teenagers and most likely 15 or younger?

Haha but that was the fault of the people who made the cast, lol
It's supposed that Emma has the same age than Scott in that movie, but the actress doesn't help too much, lol :)
Really. I'll need to look at the pic once more. I really see the two being about 20 years ,or maybe slightly less, apart.[/
Never mind. Not 20 at all. However she still looks older than him.

It was never actually proven Scott was dead. It was just alluded to. Jean wasn't really in her right mind and Wolverine had basically suggested it which I would assume made Jean believe she did. Being it wasn't shown that he actually died, he may or may not have.
As long as Sigourney Weaver or Tahyna Tozzi don't play Emma, I'll be happy. Sigourney just wouldn't look the part, and Tahyna wouldn't look or fit the part.
Famke Janssen said she won't reprise her role as Jean on some website. Saw that yesterday.
Shame. She's the only reason I liked Jean in the movies. Oh well.

Oh NOOO! She was awesome as Jean. Well as long as Jean stays in the movies. But Marvel movies are really sad these days for me. Famke isn't gonna come back and the FF movies are gonna get rebooted.
They should make new movies instead of rebooting everything.
I'm getting so sick of "reboots". Seriously, stick with the story or don't do it at all. It's not that hard. Make sure it doesn't suck first, is it that much to ask?
X-Men: less kill-offs, more focus on non-wolverine characters.
Spider-Man: less emo, less unmasking identity to everyone and killing them off or letting the villain escape with a so called "good reason", less kill-offs and more arresting... Mary-Jane this & that.. Okay cool, some drama, but drama for an hour long I mean wth? Action pls! ^^
F4: reboot? I liked the casting of Reed, Thing & Johnny. Lose Alba. She's nothing but a tool to make male viewers ehm.. Stand up and ehm.. Leave :P
Hulk: more hulk smash pls. I liked Edward as banner though, and Abomination looked great ^^
Anyway ontopic: I think Emma will be a teacher in XM:FC. In XMO:W you can clearly see "Emma" controlling her powers, thus must have some experience.
I agree with you Rage 100%
My thoughts
X-Men - stop killing people off, more villains beside Magneto and Brotherhood, more classic X-Characters, less Wolverine screetime, more for others like Scott or Storm. Oh and more Danger Room scenes
FF - Keep the entire cast for FF, Alicia, and Doom. Alba plays nice as Sue. Also shows how famous women can be comic lovers too. More villains for sequels like Skrulls, Kree, Puppet Master, and appearances by Panther, Wyatt, and/or Inhumans
