what if a cheat would activate character select screen music so if you want to try it out yourself go ahead but first you should back up your original x_common.zsm before you download ONE of these...

then drop it into the Marvel - Ultimate Alliance\sounds\eng\x\_ directory then when in game put any cheat in the character select menu ONCE so the track doesn't play twice over itself at the same time and there ya have it pretty cool right? :D I'm also taking requests if you'd like a certain theme on your CSS

NOTE 2: If you use more then one cheat I recommend Downloading this 100% save data to have all outfits unlocked right away

then place it in Documents\Activision\Marvel Ultimate Alliance\Save
And also start a New game on Hard if you want all powers unlocked from the get-go that way you only have to put in the all characters cheat as your one cheat

I'll be unable to check this out for the time being, but I have a few questions as to how this works:
(1) You said you connected a music track to any cheat code. To test out my mods and boosters, I use three cheat codes - all characters, all outfits, and all powers. So this means that if I use these same cheats, the music track will play over itself three times. Is that correct?
(2) Am I correct to assume that the music track does not play over and over again on a continuous loop?
(3) What track did you use? Presumably the MUA title track, yes?
(4) Will this only work in the CSS? Or can this also work at the in-game hero screen where cheat codes can also be entered?

2 yes but I can make a track as long as you want if need be
3 no I actually replaced the sound when ya hear right before hitting start for a cheat since I've only heard it play very few times in the game its the same sound ya hear when there's no one selected and ya try n back out without a team the name was stat_award.wav thought it was menu_error.wav must have mixed something up somewhere
4. and yes it'll work in the hero menu in game but then doesn't stop playing until its either over or ya go to a cutscene or extraction point or simply pause it
it still needs some work of course.
I took a similar approach, but using the team callout instead of a random sound effect. I made it so when I chose a team of XMEN, instead of the announcer yelling out "X-MEN!", it played the classic children of the atom character select music. I had a similar problem, however, in that the music would play multiple overlapping instances of it if I chose different XMEN teams, at least until I left the character select menu.

I know right as long as you don't trigger an overlap it should be fine haha XD
Well since you've found a guaranteed way to generate music in the team selection menu for MUA1, any chance you could do the team select theme from MUA2 as a request please?

I've never done any modding for mua2 i don't even own it. but perhaps someone else can use my method for 2 aswell sorry bro ^_^" if you'd like i can make a MUA1 theme for ya jus lemme know

just had a thought for this does anyone know if there can be a track triggered by a loading screen picture being loaded? if so I should be able to redo this mod to the CSS's loading screen

Nobody have figured out how to play a music in others menu, we tried with Outsider, but nothing found so far to my dismay.
