Title: Namor Mod from the 27npc project (complete)

All I did here was take the namor files out of the 27 npc project and changed a few things around so that he can be playable as a regular character. Ive put just his hero star entries in the data file so make sure to change that. He does level up regularly.  Mod works fine now!!!! flight and name both work. Works like a charm thanks for the tips.

Includes- power and hud icons.
1 Skin- 3 more needed
Original powers set all made by tommyboy


I dont want to take credit for this mod! The creators of the27 npc project should get credit. Tommyboy that is.

hrmm cool extraction.  someone should be able to fix up his flight.  now getting his little wings to flap might be tougher...  but still a noble effort nonetheless.  does he have powers?

yeah all the powers are there thats why i posted it :)  the powers are the same as the ones from the 27 npc project, with icons and all

his wings are fine .  the skins is the same as  the npc namor in the game so there shouldnt be a problem with his little wings.

lol i made some silly errors with the name, the flight is already there but ill check out the pkg and talent files maybe i missed something

If you got everything the way you want it this is all you have to change is the herostat.I never noticed if those wings on his feet move or not.  :laugh:

yeah ive done that, i actually did this several weeks  ago in order to learn how to  mod,  to use it as an example,  my only problem with modding is that my powers never show up.

Are they working for you now? change the icons in both talent and powerstyles to namor_icons then they'll show up. alos go to textures ui where icons are found change the name of someone else's to namor_icons,the very talented modders here have made many and posted them if you use those show thanks for their hard work and time.

i put up a post earlier that i was working on a wong mod ( im a fan of lesser known characters) i got everything perfect except for thepower icons, i used dr strange just as a starting point changed all reffrences but nothing showed up, i can post up my progress on wong and maybe someone can tell me where ive gone wrong....

I have no objections to extractions of characters from the npc27 Mod or the Avengers one.
If it makes life easier to have them available as single Mods, have at it.
(Of course credit in the readme's is nice).

:) i didnt make a readme, but i dont intend to take any credit for this, the major part of the mod in my opinion is the creation of the powers and icons, anf of coarse skins if they are originals,  so all in all this is your mod i just exracted it :)

Tommyboy2002 I know you are very over worked, so I ask in hopes that you felt the same about Namor is there a way you could change is ankles where they look better,thats the only reason I haven't tried to put together a mod of him. Thanks For All of your characters and modsss work.

I'm afraid because it's an in-game model (ie not one i made myself) theres nothing that I can do about the ankle wings. You may have to live with them as is.

When and if I get back to model making, I can do my own model of him (and I'd want a Savage Submariner outfit too), but thats a way off yet..

hmm im still baffled by the flight thing, i got the talent in here but its not showing up. by the way i just looked at the ankles and they are fat, :)  i can live with it

Krum40 -

Maybe this is obvious or already eliminated as a cause, but have you started a new game with Namor in the herostat? If you replaced a character that didn't have flight with Namor, he won't fly unless you start a brand new game.

Yeah, it's the same with all of those sort of passive talents--might, flight, healing factor, fire immunity, etc. In fact, if you overwrite, say Torch with another character without starting a new game, the fire immunity will be listed on his character screen. Whether or not it actually works I've never tested.

Ill get the hang of this modding thing sooner or later. Maybe Wong was done correctly but my error was the fact that i was always loading my game from the first save point in the heli.Practice makes perfect :)  ..Has anyone tried this mod yet? any feedback?

Hey this is great, thanks to krum4o for pulling this out
to make a single mod of thetommyboy2002's Sub-mariner.
Looking forward to trying this out.

This means 'The Illuminati' is about to be my next fav team.
(Iron Man, Reed Richards, Doctor Strange and Namor)
Very cool indeed. Also, looking forward to 'The Invaders'
with WWII Cap and the Torch. And Defenders too I suppose,
with Surfer, Strange and Hulk.

im guessing your getting the defaultman problem?  i had the same problem but i solved it. if this is the problem its happening because i have him replacing luke cage in the herostat that i uploaded. just open the hero stat switch the menulocation from 18( luke cage) to 1 (ms marvel). then just paste over mrs marvels entry....

Yeah, maybe XP. Or maybe a Focus boost.

On the Illuminati topic, since the team ideally would also include Black Bolt and Professor X, I was curious if TommyBoy had created a full power set for Black Bolt in his NPC27 mod? Anyone have that installed currently? I can't imagine what his powerset would include, actually... maybe an extreme power called 'Whisper' to blast the room, but what else would he do?

Anyone working on Professor X? That's a tough character powerset too...

Regardless, Illuminati is actually the coolest title at Marvel right now, imho. Looking forward to having this team in-game.

AFAIK no one has put together a Chucky mod.  No one seemed to like him in XML2 (I know I didn't) so why bother...  Dunno about Blackbolt

i have the mod installed but didnt see black bolts powers to show up. im not sure if they have been made.another problem was that whenever you are in a combat area and stop moving with blackbolt he is always sitting, so he runs and sits all the time...  powers for black bolt, should be flight, a few power punches i remeber him being quite strong, a scream, maybe some sonic blasts ...

...and regarding the Invaders team option.

Recolouring one of Johny Storm's outfits to red would be sufficient to work as the Prof. Horton android, or... I think there was a mention in one of the threads here of a way that you can use a skin to keep the torch's appearance always 'on fire'. Is there a separate skin for the torch when he's on fire? Could swap a Johnny storm outfit for the fire skin, if so. Would make a great WWII torch, or Toro.

Then, all we'd need is a Whizzer skin on Quicksilver, and we're set with a great WWII Invaders team.
(or Union Jack? Bucky?)

Black Bolt also has electricity-style powers as well. According to the marvel database, his powers come from this ability (he'd "absorb" electrons through the antenna on his head and had to recharge occasionally). Gives him strength, speed, flight, big punch he apparently calls "Master Blow," and even channeled electron blasts from his hands.

I've thought a lot about a black bolt mod. I think "whisper" should be one of his regular attack powers while "Shout" would be the Xtreme. Maybe a "Master Blow" punch attack along with a flight-move attack. At least one boost should be related to his status as monarch, (ie., "Royal Presence" for inspiring improved attack from allies). Perhaps a "Terrigen Mists" boost that augments powers for the party would be cool as well.

To keep Black Bolt on his feet you need to change his animations in the herostat from (87_black_bolt) to a different number I'd pick a # of someone who flies.

Sorry to disturb again but it is not that problem.

Only with copying the Namor files to the appropiate folders, I happen to be in trouble. Even before I modify the herostat.engb when I go to the character selection screen there seems to be a problem with Hawkeye and Black Widow. They simply disapeared from the screen. Instead, I have 2 blanks, that give me a random name.

I then modify the herostat file, and try and replace any character with namor, even invisible woman, and he does not appear.

Sorry but this is what I got.

I tried 2 times, after recovering my backup config.

he doesn't appear, but does his name?  You won't see a namor figure.  it also sounds like you are using an old herostat if Hawk and BW are gone.  If you keep scrolling to the right, off screen, what happens?

no, no: there's no namor, no name either.

If I keep scrolling to the right or the left I can read Hawkeye, but he cannot be chosen nor his body appears anymore.

It's quite weird because in the place where namor should be there is a blank, ok to that, but the name that appears is random, sometimes Mr Fantastic other times Invisible woman, other times Hawkeye... and so on.

None of them can be chosen though, in that blank place. They can be chosen in there usual place, where I can see their bodies.

hrmmm... uninstall reinstall something got FUBAR'ed.  Unless you can backtrack all the files you've replaced

cvc and I are almost done with a Black Bolt mod, he should be out soon.
