Well. lets see later if other people can help. PSP is different file structure whereby fightstyles, powerstyles files for characters cannot be found. Even when I found it is is in .fb format.

Hey I'm all for helping Kaiser - he's a member on another board where him and I are the only ones to mod our PSP's with these characters so far. 

I too am working on Gambit, but the structure as stated above is making me run into a wall w/ trying to figure a way around it to work with the PSP code.  Kaiser we should work together with Gambit and others both us working can get things done alot quicker you know?  Same username for me on mua-psp as well :)

Good job on the audio by the way - adding it to my mod now!

I don't think zazer has an Open Edition firmware PSP to do these mods unfortunately.  I think he believes you can load these on any PSP unit, which isn't true has to have the OE (Dark-Alex) firmware installed.

Huh.... Does the game run at all using this herostat?  You've got 29 characters defined for the engine (not necessarily selectable).  If it runs then you can have at least 29 characters, probably 30.  3 will have to be 'invisible'  (like selecting Ronin then pushing up) but if it does work you've got potential.

Yeah the game runs with that  - the only thing I noticed was before I put Gambit in, MK's name came up to select him (not an image or mannequin just a black spot with a name of his), and today nothing to select MK came up.

Also - the saved file I had at the time had Ms. Marvel on my 4 player team and I noticed that she loaded with Gambit, but when I changed her out to someone else, she wasn't on the character screen to select after that - so she and MK must be in another slot that isn't seen - the invisible selection you're talking about.

But yes the game runs fine - no other isses with it or the characters off of that herostat file.

Yeah, they are.  That's actually an incredibly good thing believe it or not.  If those all work then we're actually doing really well.  So at this point check out the Gambit files I posted in the other thread.  If they work we'll go from there.  I'll do the same trick I did for the Xbox and create some hidden locations on the stage by editing team.fb for you. 

So anyways, if Gambit works fine, then upload team.fb.  If not we should work on Gambit first.

Just like I have it, but change the herostat accordingly.  13_gambit becomes 70_gambit and 1301, 1302, etc become 7001, 7002, etc.

Hmm.. that one froze my PSP when I selected Gambit, had to do a hard restart - so loaded straight in, that doesn't work :(

Yeah I asked Kaiser to upload Gambit's PSP FBs from XML2 and iceman_0801.fb from MUA.  I built Gambit with a combination of his and Iceman's animations, so if I use PSP animations and models we will probably have better luck.  This first run was just a test to see if the PSP could use Xbox stuff.

Colossus doesn't replace anyone, and technically neither does MK.  But there was only one extra mannequin slot so MK had to replace someone in that sense.  But the game seems to run fine with 29 characters in the herostat.

YSI is not reliable; files can only be host for 7 days for a free account! It used to have a really low download bandwidth limit, too. I hated it so much and never used it again... :soapbox:

Just FYI, momoshare only allows for a 10mb upload.  Megaupload.com should hold a big enough file (500mb max).

You can have all of the PSP characters you have now with Moon Knight and Colossus.  There's a bug in the mod that won't let you select Ms Marvel right now, and I'm trying to fix it.  It requires that you have a modified PSP to play backup games.

Sorry, but maybe be you can tell me what is going on with with this system. I just want to know where the problem is, like is it in the herostat? I tried changing the herostat and managed to get back Ms Marvel but not Moon Knight.

I'm not sure, that's the thing.  Everything within the resource files shows that there's enough room for all the regular characters plus Colossus and Moon Knight, but for some reason it's not reading Ms. Marvel.

If you can tell me a little more about what it does, that would help.  Obviously she doesn't appear, but when you push left on Dr. Strange does it jump straight to Moon Knight, or is there an empty slot there?

It goes to Moon Knight, is an empty slot but still selectable. But another left on Moon Knight is not accessible, like as if there is a 'wall' in between there or something.

So you tap left once from Dr Strange, and there's an empty slot there but the blue bar says Moon Knight?  (that's an easy fix to get his model to show)

Can you explain a bit more after that?  You tap left once while on Moon Knight, do you go anywhere, can you get to Hawkeye/Black Widow, and are there any more open slots between?

This is difficult to explain.
You are right, there is an empty slot left to doc strange but the blue bar says moon knight.
When i tap left on moon knight, i don't get anywhere, i can only access to Hawkeye\Black Widow through the RIGHT (A tap to the right from Ronin goes to Hawkeye.) and thats all, nomore open slots other than the one between MK and Black Widow.

Okay cool, that gives me a start on what I need to do.  I won't be able to fix it until next week sometime, but those bugs I can fix.  Basically there's one of two ways we can do this.  The first is that I probably assigned Ms Marvel and Moon Knight to the same character slot (one should be slot 1, one should be 25).  If that's the case it would explain why you can't go to the left of Moon Knight.  In this case I fix the herostat and add Moon Knight's mannequin model in so you see him.  Option #2 is to add a 'hidden' slot so when you push left on Hawkeye or right on Ronin you get to a 'secret' character slot (only the name at the bottom changes) and you can select Moon Knight.

Personal Notes:
-Double check to see whether Moon Knight and Ms Marvel are sharing the same Herostat slot.  It's possible one is overwriting the other.  (if so then proceed to next note / if not, goto last note)
-Insert PS2 Moon Knight mannequin into characters_heads.fb and characters_heads_psp.fb so his model will show, and edit team_back.xmlb to use both slots 25 and 1, fix all transistions.
-team_back.xmlb transitions are incorrect, Moon Knight's slot has a bad reference (to an invisible slot most likely).  Revert to original, then add an 'invisible' slot between Ronin/Hawkeye for Moon Knight.

If it helps, it's kinda like the glitch we've had on the PC version while experimenting with the >27 slot herostats. Ran into it myself yesterday (I'm a lazy person with ADHD, so it's no big surprise that I only now got MUA and only several days later got the latest mod for it).

I'm still guessing that it's a herostat issue in the build.  I'm pretty sure that I might have assigned both Ms Marvel and Moon Knight either to slot 25 or slot 1

It does help, sortof.  It's one less thing I have to check.  Now I need to look at team_back.xmlb and see if I messed up the left/right transitions somewhere.  I know it's not mlm_team_back.igb.  It's actually got 29 slots, so that shouldn't be the problem.  So my guess is that I messed up in there. 

Noel, you should try running some PS2 assets on the PSP.  I may have built something wrong.  Last time I built custom PSP FBs was almost a year ago.

Alright, I'll give it a whirl then when I have the time. Gotta dig up the DVD-R I dumped all my WiP files to way back when I cleared out my hard drive the last time, and then I'll get on it. I'm fairly certain it's gonna be relatively easy to do, seeing as PSP anims work on the PC. XML2 probably won't, seeing as XML2PSP uses an animation format incompatible with the other versions :)

Also, don't forget that the PSP version uses team_back_psp.xmlb. Which, incidentally, does NOT have pad25 (necessary for slot 25 to work) defined in it. Owie. I'll be trying to remember what goes where and affects it exactly how in the meantime to see if it can be fixed.

Okay, straightforward copying of PS2 files into PSP (I did Spidey's packages all at once, just to be on the safe side) produces an interesting effect. Loading from a save lets me into the game (the save was made when he wasn't on the team), I can select him in the charselect menu just fine, preview costumes, he's animated, all that stuff, the 256-colour textures really make a difference. And adding him to the team and leaving the charselect produces a BSOD. I assume it'd CTD if it could, but it can't so it BSODs. Well, bummer.
Straight-to-new-game produces the same effect. Yay.

Now I'm gonna try rebuilding the FBs to look for the possible reasons. Also got X-Box, PC and X360 files to try with, mayhap one of them may work. Gotta find a way to import those XML2 anims sooner or later, y'know?

Hmm, maybe a simple file structure comparison is all you need.  I can tell you the the last time I looked that it seemed like there were a few different files in FBs as compared to other versions.

Yeah, sure, I'd be doing this in any case. My current battle plan goes something to the way of "fix Ms Marvel's mysterious disappearance" and move on to include "eventually port as much of the Official Character Pack as possible". I'm currently just working myself back up to speed and figuring out what's different with the PSP version's inner functionings :)

I have it on one of my harddrives lying around, since I incorporated it into my MUA game currently installed on one of my memory sticks for the PSP.

Программу? 0_о Если тебе нужно перепрошить PSP чтобы запускать на нём копию игры, то это будет зависеть от того, какая прошивка у тебя уже стоит. Потому что под "модами" самой ПСП подразумеваются аэрография, замена джойстика и так далее, т.е. механический моддинг.

Maybe I can help: well I found a page that it's in spanish but i can translate, the programm is called "USB Special System Storage",and you have to double click in DESCARGAR

Then copy the two carpets in PSP/GAME150 (if you don't have it, you must create it) and finally start the progamm in the PSP.

And  the steps are:
1- Conect the USB
2- In the program click the option “Carga Virtual: UMD ISO-9000”
3- Open in the PC the PSP
4- Copy the carpet “UMD9660.iso” in the PC


And that's all



There's another way to do it but I don't know if it works in Firmwares that aren't 3.71 M33.

1.Go to the UMD but don't press X
2.Press Select and it will appear a menu
3.Go to the option USB and move until it appears ISO
4. Then connect to the PC (using the USB)and it will appear the ISO

If you want to look your Memory Stick you have to do the same but in the third step you have to move until it appears Memory Stick.

A couple of requirements:

-Your PSP must be modded
-You need an ISO of your original game
-You need to know how to use the programs mentioned inside the download (there's instructions)

Unfortunately, if you don't know how to do that stuff you can't ask how here.  Google or Psp-hacks.com are good places to learn/start.

I found the bug the other day that caused Ms Marvel not to show up.  I'll update this in a few days and include Ms Marvel + a 4th costume for Moon Knight

Here's the mod without the fixes, which means Moon Knight doesn't have a mannequin or 4th skin, and Ms Marvel won't be there.  Dunno when I'll have time to fix it.

I just have to decide quickly which I want to do first, buy the Pandora battery so I can install custom firmware on my PSP...or get XML 2 for the PC so I can start using some of the awesome looking mods for it...

I got a Pandora Battery + a "Magic Memory Card" for $19.00 USD at www.bargainpile.net.  It even had a step-by-step instruction manual.  Took me about 15 minutes after charging the Pandora Battery.  That's what I'd do.  The only things it doesn't work with are PSP GOs, certain PSP-3000's, and PSP-2000's that start with AB02 on the barcode (on the bottom of the PSP).  I'd recommend using a PSP-2000 that doesn't have the AB02 on the barcode.

Apparently MUA PSP will run on the emulator PPSSPP, as it runs 100% speed on my dual-core PC. I'll see what I can do about fixing this mod back up and improving it.

I don't think it would take very long to add Colossus and Moon Knight. I probably won't do anything else until I decide whether I want to work on a 360 mod.
