Title: Hulk version 1.0
Post by: Teancum on July 03, 2007, 10:53AM
For those wondering, this is not the same as DLC Hulk.  What you're seeing here is going to be the Xbox 1 Hulk.

Features:
-Classic, Original, Grey and Joe Fixit skins (portraits are in Xbox format so the channels are reversed)
-Mixture of moves from Juggernaut and Thing
-WiP simulator mission (not included this version)

To Do:
-Need to do PC versions of the portraits

Notes:
-Credit goes to BliZZ for the original Classic skin and the Juggernaut mod, both of which were used as the original base for the mod.
-The model uses the Morlock Bruiser model.  This is so that it works on the Xbox.  The Bruiser wears a vest, so around the waist the skin might look weird on all but Joe Fixit.

No screens just yet, I'm at work, but feel free to post screens for everyone if you're the first to install it.  And PLEASE do me a huge favor and post bugs.  It helps to crush them now before I actually port him to Xbox.

i realize this is not the DLC hulk, but is the face used in your skins from the DLC, looks pretty similar to me. For example, skin 17003 from the DLC has similar eyebrows, cheak lines, neck lines and hair lines as skin 17002 from your content.

I dunno.  I think BliZZ just reskinned the Morlock Bruiser, which I ended up using as a base.

you can compare yourself
Congrats Blizz, either way

Can anyone post some pics, please? My "gaming" PC isn't working, so I can't try this mod (yet).
Also, I'm betting he has a Clap power (hence Thing, I guess). Does he have that boost Juggernaut had in XML2, where he got bigger with each punch?

I'm sorry, it's just too exciting to finally get the chance to use Hulk (well, if my PC gets fixed any time soon).

Powers:
Mega Punch (modeled after the DLC version, but it didn't turn out too perfect - big punch that can stun enemies)
Hulk Jump (jumps into the air and lands hard, sending a shockwave)
Hulk Crush (raises fists then slams them down, causing damage)
Hulk Knock Down (runs along, running over guys)
Hulk Frenzy (quick left-right punched, repeatedly tap power button - same as Juggy's)

Boosts:
Hulk Roar (same as Ghost Rider's Fear)
Hulk Boost (Reduces damage to team)
Fury (Hulk grows - he's faster and does more damage)

Xtreme:
Hulk Smash (Different than DLC, Hulk charges up then jumps high into the air, slamming down hard ) --has some fun effects with slow motion.

I apologize for the low-rez skins.  It's the best I can do on the model.  Luckily it'll look great on the Xbox. :D  Original looks particularly bad, but it was the best I could do to make it look like the DLC.

Just a note, but wasn't Joe Fixit gray?

Also, how much more people think Hulk needs the Hand-Clap? I was hoping to find it here, since it was out of the DLC. He just pwns whoever he wants with that move.

Joe Fixit R gray, dude.

EDIT: Damn, beat to it.

DLC Hulk doesn't have a Hand-Clap. Unless I mis-read your post, and you didn't imply that  /whistles

Lol, right.  Didn't realize, I used that digital camera snapshot of the DLC version and the colors were really washed out.  I'll fix that up for the next release.

Yeah, no hand-clap for Hulk.  I'm trying to make him similar to the DLC and make sure he's not a copy of another character.

Read: Colossus  :chuckle:

Technically, Original (with the ripped shirt) is Gray too. Thus how there were 2 Gray/2 Green on DLC.

Aww crap.  Well it didn't seem that way looking at his model.  It was a dark, desaturated green.

Thoughts: Would it be redundant to have Gray Hulk and Joe Fixit since (from what I understand) they're the same guy?  I'm sortof at a loss for what I can do since I can't do a new model.

You could always toss Smart Hulk in. Don't know if you can get good looking glasses, though. And you'd have to make the face quite different.

yeah, you are right about the desaturated green. Thanks for making Joe Fixit skin by the way!

Dang, you beat me to it.  Here's a little clip from Original Hulk.  Left side is normal, right side has been greyscaled.

Blizz, you did definitely misread that post. I like your whistling, btw.

I did some googling and apparently "Thunderclap" is kind of a staple Hulk move.   http://www.incrediblehulk.com/thunderclapfeats.html
Personally, I don't think a lot of people would call your Hulk a Thing clone for having that move (if that's an issue), in fact I've heared that some of them were disappointed he didn't have it in the DLC. It indeeds makes more sense than the Defense rising boost, anyway (which fits Colossus better, if it was a good boost, that is).

Just letting it out of my system. Once If I get my PC running again, I will try to change it myself, anyways.

Smart Hulk (aka The Professor) has a more man-like face, the hair looks combed and his clothes usually aren't ripped. The DLC had Planet Hulk, but I think The Professor would actually look better.

Anyway, the mod looks pretty cool so far, and I'll try it as soon as I find my copy of MUA, since it is temporally unistalled.

EDIT: Time for some constructive posting. I gave Hulk 'giant1_m' as his sound folder in the herostat, and it DOES launch his Hulk announcer and selection screen taunt. Don't know if this was already noticed or even added in this mod, since Megaupload doesn't let me download yet (I'm using tommy's Hulk). Or perhaps it doesn't have anything to do with the sounddir and I'm wrong, who knows.

It's the server availability that is giving me trouble, at least for the slots assigned to Peru and yadda-yadda. It really sucks. On another note, I gave the AvengersMod Hulk the Thing's powerset, but it just doesn't seem right, I'll wait to download yours.

I'll add my two cents that probably the most iconic Merged Hulk getup is the brown suit where the shirt wouldn't fit all the way around his chest:

I'll see what I can do about that.  It'd be cool do do him since the Prof wasn't a skin on the 360 Hulk.

After some more exposure to Hulk in other games/comics, I decided to put the hand clap in.  So here's what you'll see in the next (and hopefully final) update:

-Hulk Jump will now be Hulk Clap.  Essentially all you'll see here is an animation change
-Hulk Crush will now be a radial power, complete with the 'wave' that comes with most radial powers
-Joe Fixit will be gray
-PC versions of the portraits will be included.

Hello, I don't know what I did wrong, but I can't get hulk to do anything except walk or jump. No attacks, no powers no nothing. And the skins don't work either. I know its probably something I did since I'm pretty new at this. I followed the "add new characters"  instruccions. I also noticed there are is no fight style folder on the file i downloaded.

Yeah, I noticed that hulk has no powers too. I can get him to punch and grab but he has none of the powers that the author says he has.

It works OK for me, have you checked that your herostat and all the files are named correctly?
Title: Re: Hulk version 1.0
Post by: captmorgan72 on July 30, 2007, 12:29PM
Well, I will just tell you what I did. I extracted the Hulk mod onto my desktop. I highlighted and cut the actors, effects, textures, data, hud and simulator folders and pasted them overwriting the folders in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance folder. I took the hulk herostat_entry and copied the contents and overwrote luke cage's spot in the herostat that I decompiled with XMLBCUI. I then compiled the herostat back into herostat.engb. I also switched out the Hulk mod skins with the ones tommyboy made. Everything works except that hulk has no powers, when I select the power tab it is blank. I can use two of his powers by default but the rest are unavailable. Explain to me how you installed the Hulk mod and maybe I can see if I did something wrong.

Post by: Norrin Radd on July 30, 2007, 12:42PM
if the power tab is blank, it sounds like this could be a /powerstyles issue. If you don't copy the files from the powerstyles directory correctly, i believe you will get the problem where no powers show up in the power tab.
Title: Re: Hulk version 1.0
Post by: captmorgan72 on July 30, 2007, 02:11PM
I went back into the powerstyles folder to check and found three for hulk. They are ps_hulk.engb, ps_hulk.itab and ps_hulk.xmlb. I assume this is correct so what else could be going wrong?

Updates:

I've been really busy with the Xbox mod and fixing a Dell for a buddy, but I wanted to let ya know the plan as we move forward here.

--Since he was scrapped for the Xbox 1 mod I have no limitations, so he'll be using a combination of Tommy's models and the morlock reskin
--I'm hoping to put in a rage meter.  That'll be what makes him grow rather than a boost.
--Since he's going to be more DLC style, the rapid punch power will be removed.
--The good news is that I'm going to put in the hand clap
--Menu animations will be changing slightly to accomadate for a new set of in-game anims
--You'll now have Classic (Tommy's), Original (Morlock reskin), Planet Hulk (Tommy's), and Joe Fixit (Morlock Reskin).
--Joe Fixit will be gray
--Gray Hulk (Morlock Reskin), along with Tommy's other Hulks will not be appearing, but you can always download the models.
--For the modder's sake, Hulk will now be in his properly numbered slot.

I have no ETA on when this will be done.  I just know that's what I'm going for.

BTW I think it was Incredible Hulk #411 and #412 that the Hulk returned to Las Vegas because his old boss was killed and he became Joe Fixit for those two issues and he was Green and it also guest starred The Punisher. So dont change the Joe Fixit to gray because it fits those two issues well. So what I am saying is that the Green Hulk was Mr. Fixit for two issues. :)

Mr. Fixit is gray. Green smart Hulk is The Professor or a proto-Green-Scar Hulk. You don't green Fixit, and that's it.

Yeah, Xbox Hulk is no more.  Modding for the Xbox takes about twice-to-three times as long, and I'd have to change a bunch of conversations and stuff to make him fit in the story.  So I dropped him.

handclap is a hulk feature and should be included....i've seen it quite a few times in comics, but you should make the clap stun everyone in front of him (180 arc),and damage the ones near like 6 feet(kinda like ms marvel and invisible woman blast radious attack),
