TRON
A self-monitoring program originally created by ENCOM programmer Alan Bradley, the sentient, good-hearted entity known as TRON was intended to be a durable security program for ENCOM's company mainframe.
Unfortunately, Alan's access to TRON would be suspended as a byproduct security measure against an unknown hacker who was in actuality, an ex-computer programmer for ENCOM known as Kevin Flynn.
Without Alan around to keep him safe, TRON was soon captured by the malicious entity known as the Master Control Program or MCP within the digital world representing ENCOM's computer servers known as 'The Grid', under orders from its second in command, Sark.
Trapped and forced to fight through never-ending gladiatorial video games, TRON would eventually encounter Kevin Flynn who was unwillingly digitized from the real world into the Grid by the MCP, after trying to release evidence of senior ENCOM executive Ed Dillinger's theft of his work for himself beforehand.
Unaware that Flynn was in fact a 'User' who sought to also destroy the MCP till much later on in their original adventure, the two would forge a strong alliance as they escaped from their imprisonment on stolen lightcycles for the I/O Tower and obtain invaluable coded data from Alan Bradley back in the real world (which would alter odds for success greatly in their favor).
TRON successfully obtaining the data he needed from Alan after careful stealthy infiltration into the I/O Tower, he proceeded to escape with his lover Yori as the tower guardian, Dumont, did what he could to buy the two time to escape for a 'Solar Sailer' which would transport them to the MCP's primary location.
Reuniting with Flynn along the way, the trio would eventually succeed and destroy the threat of the MCP and its malevolent forces for good as Flynn was digitized back into the real world, his own plans to have incriminating evidence leaked publicly a success as Ed Dillinger was swiftly removed from his position as Senior Executive for ENCOM.
Now however, two decades have passed since ENCOM's hidden corruption was wiped out and TRON has received numerous upgrades from Alan since then, to keep him updated in the face of continually advancing technology.
Spying a particularly suspicious anomaly within a sector of the Grid, TRON would proceed to investigate only to unexpectedly find himself in the real world of Earth-7150.
Fortunately retaining access to his coded combat protocols despite no longer being within the grid, TRON proceeded to explore this fascinating new world before swiftly encountering five young kids in the middle of a park who were seemingly finishing off a rogue older user that meant them harm.
The biggest young User, who possessed a key-like sword in his hands which disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, immediately seemed to recognize TRON upon spotting him (despite TRON not being familiar with the young man himself), as he was swiftly hugged by the teenager who explained shortly afterward that his name was Sora and that he had met a different version of TRON before, not being originally from this world either.
Introduced to the four other kids who went by the collective name of the 'Power Pack', TRON explained everything to the best of his understanding and desired to return back to the Grid as soon as possible.
But before Sora could attempt to suggest a way back to the Grid on TRON's behalf, their conversation would be interrupted by the arrival of the sorcerer known as Doctor Voodoo who requested everyone to come with him to the Sanctum Sanctorum.
With no other leads currently available and secretly wishing to learn all he could about this mysterious new world before returning to the Grid, TRON would accompany his new allies to their destination, preparing his combat functions for a proper test...
