ANG LEE HULK
Originating from Earth-400083, this version of Bruce Banner went through a less than ideal childhood as his father, David Banner, frequently experimented on himself as part of his genetics research in attempts to improve human DNA.
His wife eventually giving birth to Bruce, David was horrified to discover that his mutated DNA had been passed on to Bruce and did what he could to create a cure (before Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross uncovered what David had been doing and ordered that his experiments be shut down by order of the American government).
Losing himself to his own rage, David sabotaged the military facility's gamma reactor and accidentally killed his wife, Bruce being adopted.
Years later, Bruce would grow up into a brilliant scientific genius who rarely expressed his emotions outward as a result of repressed childhood memories that frequently manifested as quickly forgotten but nevertheless terrifying nightmares.
Working on a custom-built device known as a 'Gammasphere' which relied on medical nanotechnology triggered by gamma radiation in order to regenerate living tissue and ideally save an irradiated individual from radiation poisoning, this would ultimately lead to the birth of another side of Bruce as he saved his colleague, Harper, from being caught in the accidentally released blast of the Gammasphere during a planned test.
Miraculously surviving a full bombardment from the Gammasphere in ways no-one else had (thanks to Bruce's already altered DNA), he would soon transform for the first time into the Hulk of his reality during the middle of the night after being confronted by his father for the first time in years.
Ultimately, Bruce would unwillingly find himself pulled into battle with the American military's forces several times as well as facing his own father, now newly obsessed with gaining that power for himself, as David recklessly exposed himself under the same conditions that caused Bruce's awakened power of the Hulk, gaining the ability to meld with and absorb the inherent properties of anything he comes into contact with.
Left with no other option, Bruce and the Hulk briefly put their differences aside and worked together to destroy their far more monstrous father once and for all, generating enough gamma radiation that proved too much for David to handle in its limitless output (as David's very being was finally destroyed by a missile bound straight for them).
Surviving the battle but believed dead, Bruce would go into hiding for a year in South America within the depths of the Amazon rainforest as a medical doctor who did what he could for the vulnerable or injured who came across his path.
But this was not to last as Bruce would soon return to the United States through a phone call from his former mentor, Geoffrey Crawford, having finally come up with a proclaimed cure to Bruce's condition known as the Gamma Orb.
Sneaking into his lab while avoiding the rummaging military forces, this would tragically turn out to be a deceitful trick by Crawford as he used the Orb to drain a good chunk of Gamma energy from Bruce's body and interacted with it to transform himself into a Hulk-like form known as Ravage with similar capabilities to Bruce's own, Crawford now being able to walk again for the first time in years.
Enraged at the betrayal, Bruce transformed into the Hulk for the first time in a long time and pursued Ravage across the rooftops and sewers of San Francisco, fighting off the newly pursuing military as well as several other Gamma-powered beings who fruitlessly attempted to stop the Hulk in his tracks.
Learning of what Crawford was planning to do with his stolen gamma energy, Bruce would uncover information of a mysterious Gamma-powered individual known only as the Leader, who had grand plans of using the Gamma orb to create an army of gamma-powered warriors.
Not wishing to have anyone else bare the burden of his genetic curse, Bruce would eventually arrive at the secret underground Freehold base hidden underneath Alcatraz Island after escaping from the military's clutches once more and fought his way through the Leader's forces as the Hulk.
Expecting this well ahead of time, the Leader tricked the Hulk as he threw an activated Gamma orb at him, successfully absorbing the rest of the core gamma radiation within Bruce's body as he was now free of the Hulk at last.
Refusing to give up, Bruce did what he could to stay on top of the Leader's vast gamma-powered talents, quickly gaining back access to the Hulk and accepting his new existence completely as he swiftly defeated the Leader for the time being, the humiliated villain taunting Hulk that this would not be the last time they would be seeing each other.
Escaping Freehold just in the nick of time as it began to collapse from all the chaos enacted previously during Hulk's battle against the Leader, Bruce found himself alone once more in the deserts of New Mexico as he attempted to hitchhike, before giving up on the idea as he headed off into the sunset.
Unexpectedly, Bruce found himself caught in the middle of multiversal instability as dimensional tears across time and space started to make their presence known across every reality, strange human-like robots flying out of them and heading right for him.
Having no choice, Bruce willingly transformed into the Hulk again under duress as he escaped from a large swarm of the strange robots which had attempted to trap Banner beneath their combined weight, as the Hulk proceeded to leap into one of the dimensional tears, unaware of what sort of destination him and Banner would end up in this time with their escape, as the tears soon corrected themselves with his departure from their original universe...
