Well, some of the members maybe wanna kill me with this thread, but as Marvel Mods is a place that we have a lot of lesbians, bi and gay members, I've decided to creat this topic so we can talk about everything related to this subject. News, laws, thoughts or whatever you want to share with the other members, how do you feel about being gay, and this stuff. Remeber that we will always be respectful with people and its not allowed to post pornography or relateds. So, that's it. Raise your glass for fun and get free, get out of the closet!!! lol  Everyone is welcome! :)

i'm not gay myself, but more power to you who are. I'm actually one of the leaders of the pride alliance (formerly called the gay/straight alliance). so i guess namaste to all of you ^^

Great Idea!
Well, as you may know or not, I'm proudly a gay guy.
I'm happy, my life is great and my sexuality has never caused me troubles with anyone. Yes there's still a lot of people who believes that this is wrong or something like that, but that wont stop me, the world is still spinning around and the sun shines for eveyone so, what I can say to you, gay or not, is be happy without take care of that others think about you :)
Phoenix Force: No. He loves Emma Frost.  He loves me.
Jean Grey: He wants her. Not you. Not US. And now it's time... to leave this behind.
Phoenix Endsong #5

as for that choice thing, what I wanted to say was that it's definitely not a choice. I mean, if someones aunt used to be with a guy and is now with a girl she didn't decide to become gay. either she only admited being gay far in life or she's bisexual, and that's what gives her the choice to be with a man or a woman. people who are genuinely gay simply don't feel attracted to the opposite sex. just like straight guys don't go around thinking "hey, I think I'm gonna sleep with a man today.....nah, I choose not to." It just doesn't work that way.

"Beneath this mask there are ideals and ideals are bulletproof."

I don't have a problem with people, who like the same sex or both, but why make a thread for them? I mean, this is like alienating (is this how it is spelt?) them away from everyone. As for myself, a proud person, who is proud of the fact, that he believes, that everybody is equal, I don't like the idea of the thread. I mean, because someone is homosexual or bisexual, it does not change them from the fact, that they are humans as I am or others. So, it's like creating a thread for boys and a thread for girls. A thread for Jean Grey fans and a thread for some other very popular character. But enough of this. Apart from what I already wrote down, I want to say, that I am very happy, that there are people, who openly accepts themselves and others for who they are. It's a great thing! If everyone would be like this, the whole world would be entirely else.

I believe the point was to make a conversation happen in the right place (;; In case you haven't noticed, there was a lot of discussion about "choosing" gayness in some topic, I can't remember which one, but it was waay off-topic. I can see your point about it alienating gays from normal people, but sometimes, certain matters are good to be discussed about. All the fuss about gays is what makes them so different. If people reacted normally on them, in the same way they act for straights, gays would of course be nothing to discuss about.

I myself am bi and proud of it, even though I haven't told anyone but my two best friends. ((: Unfortunately the place I live in, isn't really acceptive, so I'm keeping it quiet for as long as possible :P Or until I move to another city/country etc. (I know big dreams about moving to another country but what can I say.... dream on :))

I totally agree with Nowhere Man. Sexuality is not a choice! You cannot choose to become gay or straight or bi... I should know, since a couple weeks ago I had a feeling I wouldn't want to be bi anymore. I tried to change myself, but it wasn't possible. And believe me, I did a lot of thinking that time. Fortunately that thinking was good for me, since now I'm proud of what I am, even though I'm not what I am publically :P

It's good to read, that you accept and like yourself this way. Accepting ourselves and other people are very important. Even though, I'm not the type, who accepts himself too much :D Oh, BTW, as for myself, I'm straight, but I never really had a problem with homo- or heterosexual people

ThePhoenix wrote exactly what I meant this thread for. It is just to share anything related in order to avoid spam in other topics and I thought that it would be nice to have a topic to discuss about it, not to separete gay members from straight ones, far from that! From my point of view only who is gay knows that its not a choice, only being one to know it.

Well, I have to argue with that. Even a straight guy like me knows, that this is not a choice, but a feeling, which cannot be altered. How many times I have wished, that I would turn 100% unable, to love other people in a romantic way, but it turned out, that I'm something of a romantic loser, so that's that :D

I'm sorry, but that's total BS.  Gave it a whole few weeks, did you?  You think that's all a paradigm shift takes?  I've worked with people who chose to make major changes in their life, and a few weeks will never cut it.  A few weeks says "You know what?  This is hard, I think I'll do the easy thing."

Nope, I absolutely don't think you're "programmed" to be straight, bi or gay.  It's a choice, just like everything else in life.  As far as my opinion past that point I have extremely strong feelings towards monogamous man-woman relationships, but out of civility I won't go there.

Incidentally though intentions are good here this topic will end up going south.  That's why on most forums I moderate or am an admin on politics, religion and sexuality are forbidden topics, as folks feel too strongly one way or the other.

Well, for myself, I already said, that I think, that accepting ourselves and others are very important, so if it goes like this, this topic won't be much of a problem. Of course, if random people, who just registered would write in offending stuff, well, lets just say, that it could happen. But sexuality nowadays is like racism was many years ago. Although, there are still many racist people, but the majority accepts others. Lets hope sexuality will be accepted a lot more in the future.

I'm a teenager, what did you expect? :P My mood changes two million times a day, so I pretty much changed my opinion about that change during those weeks (: (PS. I feel like a total noob, but what is BS?)

Cancer? Dying? Poverty? Famine? Yes I'm exaggerating here, but it's kind of the same? You can't choose cancer! Who would? Cancer chooses you. Also, dying is something we all have to do, and that isn't up to our choices, how it happens. Though our choices might affect it, but we can't control it. Many people are born poor, some people become poor against their will. If that was a choice would anyone be poor? The same goes with famine. If we really could choose everything in life, then nothing bad would ever happen.

Just because that is the situation in most forums you participate in, doesn't mean this topic couldn't work here (: I'm sure the moderators are more than ready to stay whatchful on this topic and delete the posts that don't fit. Also, most forums I'm in, do have politics, religion and sexuality topics, and they work better than well (:

I am left handed, you think I choose to be? Lol, there is no argument here we are what we are and (me being gay) am happy with how I am. I know there is no way to change everyone opinions and I'm not trying to, but what makes you think I choose to be gay in the first place? What I don't wanna deal with kids or something? lol....

Yes maybe you do, but for real, see you make it seem like you cant like a girl, it is possible, and thats horrible to say you would preffer to be normal, if you want to like a girl then you can, seriously! Your making it seem that there is no option to like a girl, I am sorry, but this is a topic that I am very opinionative about, and I no for a fact its a choice!
