I want them to keep Nick.  Been waiting for ages for a Marvel game to feature ol' one eye as a 'playable'.  Give him a WWII skin, too.

As for new ones...Kitty Pryde, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Rogue, Tigra, Longshot, She-Hulk.

I'm actually more excited for a ton of NPC's that nobody has even thought of, that would bring lots of fun modding possibilities. I just hope there isn't a character limit in the next game, but I doubt it will happen.

If the limit is 45, we should add Gambit, Bishop, Giant Man, Wasp and Angel.

Oh, and a no-limit-game would be better than any of my dreams could ever be!

 Im not really sure why so may are clamoring for a re-tread of MUA. Why would you want the SAME characters that you already played in the first game to be in the sequel?? Wouldnt it make more sense to have an all NEW roster of characters? If it were up to me, this is how the lineup would be.

A) Your list is not marketable. I'm sorry its just not. Very few will will want to play a game without Thor and Wolverine, let alone a game that includes Pip the Troll on its roster in favor of one of those characters.

B) Your roster tends to clump characters by comic. What if the general public doesn't like Annhilation and Exiles as much as say Excalibur and The Initiative. But half your roster is made up of folks from 2 comic series.

IF your going to go more obscure I think you have to at least branch out into many multiple series.

Anyway, your opinion is your opinion. But its not very realistic. I think most of us are trying to think of what we'd want while mixing in what is actually concievable by Activision and Marvel's marketing depts.

My reasoning is like that, but not entirely based on popularity, it's got more to do with the "flavor" of the game. When I got XML2, I thought it was cool to both play with my favorite X-Men, and even more so to make my own team of X-Men characters. With M:UA, the main attractive is to get your dream team of marvel superheroes together. Honestly, the story is good, but the level design is kind of boring and some fights are lackluster, but hey, you get to take Wolverine, Spider-Man, Captain America and Iron Man to fight Galactus and Dr. Doom (among others)!

In other words: You remember that episode in the 90's Spider-Man animated series where he fought with the X-Men? Or the one based on Secret Wars where he teamed up with the likes of Captain America and Iron-Man? Did you happen to like the post-Civil War version of the Fantastic Four (Thing, Human Torch, Black Panther and Storm)? Would you like to see Daredevil and Elektra fight side by side? Or how 'bout the New Fantastic Four?
Well, that's what made M:UA so likeable to me.

So, changing the entire roster wouldn't do. Replacing some I don't like could be, but there would be thousends who wouldn't be happy if they took away Blade, Nick Fury or Colossus. Heck, I'm still a little pissed off that they removed Psylocke and Beast from XML2.

Well, that's my take on the subject. And also, that's why I chose to keep almost the entire roster. It's a pretty damn good roster anyway, in my opinion.

Well the reason I have a large amount of space-faring heroes in my line-up is because of who the main villian is supposed to be. If youre going up against Galactus, wouldnt one think that the most obvious choice for heroes would be those that are predominiently in outer space?? Now I know that not all of my choices fit in that category..a lot of them are just wishful thinking and I realize that...but my reasoning is nonetheless valid. I, myself, do not want to play a re-hash of the first game, with the exact same characters doing the exact same things. I really think that to be competitive in the tight videogame market, Activision needs to up the ante and take some risks...and that includes going outside the comfort zone and adding some new and interesting heroes to the mix. Im not suggesting a complete and total change...thats totally unrealistic. I know that the tried and true heroes need to be present...of course they do...they are what makes Marvel what it is. Im just saying shake it up a bit. Think about the first game...who would have thought they would have included Ms Marvel or Spiderwoman or Dr Strange? Those were bold moves and they paid off big time! So why not do the same with the sequel? Put some new and interesting characters in and leave some of the others out. It just makes sense to me. I can see where you guys are coming from...but I think my opinion carries some validity as well.

Let me ask you this. Have any of you guys played Spiderman: Friend or Foe? Its no MUA for sure...but its still fun..and for me whats makes it so fun is the characters that you can play as. Iron Fist, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Green Goblin, Scorpion, Doc Ock, Prowler and others. Not your usual fare for a Marvel game...and I absolutely LOVE that!! Its what makes the game so great for me. Ive played as Spiderman a million times in various games...but never once have I played as ANY of the above. To me, thats a very cool thing and its what brings me back to these games time and again.

Anyhow..thats just my opinion..for what its worth.

Hawkeye, Iron Fist and Punisher must be playable on all systems.  I'm still bitter about not having a way to put Hawkeye on the Xbox.

Didnt activision loose the rights to certain characters? Does anyone know specifically who? I'm figuring it's safe to assume they wont be in the sequel.

We don't know exactly.  Rights were gained by other companies for movie-games, but it never mentioned that those rights were exclusive.

Ah gotchya. I thought I remember reading they lost rights to Iron Man, but I could have sworn there were others. Easier to make a dream list when one knows the characters to leave out for legal reasons. Thanks.

Well, I'd scratch Hulk and Thor then.  Hopefully Activision gets partial rights so that we can have em.

if they leave out thor or iron man i'm not getting the sequel. and if they do but dont add hulk, i'll be hasetant to buy it...

I am sure they will make exceptions especially when it comes to Thor, Iron Man, Cap and Hulk. Without them the game would be nothing. The only person that would be worth buying the game for would be Spider-Man if they did not make exceptions somewhere but even then it is a game based on the Marvel Universe and not on Spidey alone.

I think you guys and girls should definitely think about whether the character has 4~6 costumes before actually calling out their names in your list. If you can't even come up with at least 4 different costumes, then it is very likely that the character won't make the cut in MUA2. Don't use Silver Surfer as a counter-example; he is clearly a last minute addition to the standard roster and he actually DOES have more than 4 costumes/identities in comics (eg. The Keeper, Silver Savage, Evil Silver Surfer (from Exiles) ).

Hmm, I should modify my list, too. hehe

Cosmic Carnage would be a nice skin for Silver Surfer.

PS: Moon Knight only had 3 costumes, before Retro was added into the game for the PC only. The next-gen. costumes still show Moon Knight having only 3.

Think of the following characters too:
Spider-Woman (2 Jessica Drew vs. 1 Arachne and 1 May Parker)
Ronin (Unmasked? Street clothes? Those aren't 2 legitimate costumes)
Ghost Rider (Well, I think he might have other costumes, but the fact is that in this game 2 of them are other characters)
Luke Cage (Basically, street gears x 3)

Not having enough costumes won't stop Raven and Activision from putting a character in.

Spider-woman - the 4 in MUA are mainly the ones that people know. This also solves the problem that "similar" characters don't appear twice in the standard roster. Jessica Drew does have other costumes.
Moon Knight - If they have got more time and done a bit more research, they would have added the 4th one. Besides, he's an exclusive, not a character from the standard roster.
Ronin - These actually did appear in comics, but they weren't iconic. That's better than having made-up uniforms.
Ghost Rider - They could have used Zarathros and Daniel Ketch Ghost Rider.
Luke Cage - They are all legitimate and iconic... I just don't like the sunglasses and the fact that he lacks beard. lol

Yes, it will. Would people be satisfied if one oscure/new character having one costume is put on the list as oppose to a character that is more well-known? I don't know about you, but I am not. Many people actually ask for more costumes per character, I don't see the point having several characters that retrograde. These characters could be replaced with those are more well known to the customers --- a marketing strategy.

Before I get into my character wants, I want to express my desire for the rolplaying aspect of MUA2 to be more similar to XML and XML2.  I'd rather be able to select passives and not have them be tied to specific skins as well as being able to allocate strike, body, focus and speed at my discretion.  That said.  My want list is:

1) Captain America: w/new Cap skin
2) Iron Man: w/Mark I and Extremis skin
3) Wolverine: w/ Patch and New X-Men skin
4) Thor: w/new chain mail skin
5) Spider-Man: I'd like for the extra arms on the Iron-Spider suit to be incorporated but I know that's unlikely
6) Deadpool: He rocks as he is but I wouldn't mind an Agent X skin
7) Spider-Woman: She's fine as she is
8) Black Widow: She's fine as well
9) Winter Soldier: I'd like to see him replace Nick Fury
10)Cable: Activison should just use this forum's mod; maybe incorporate a psimitar boost like Moon Knight's staff boost
11)Storm: She's fine like she is, maybe add a cape to her skins
12)Black Panther: He's fine as he is as well
13)Iron Fist: Suprise me
14)Dr. Strange: Use the "Strange" skin he had back during the Midnight Sons

I know we can add more than that but I really can't think of anyone else I'd really want.  I feel that since the X-Men have 2 games under their belt, it doesn't make sense to include a lot of them unless the have a presence outside the X-Universe.  Wolverine, Storm, and Cable fit this bill I believe. Colossus, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Iceman do not.  Just my opinion.

Haven't posted here for a while. But with the upcoming 2nd edition of the game I got interested again.
Love it we are getting a Ultimate Alliance 2. I hope there is some news soon about it. It is very quiet about anything accept that it is coming at the end of this or the beginning of next year (even that is unsure).
It will include some civil war aspects, so I'm curious how they will implement that.
For my hero list I'd made one that I want and my ideas of who will be in the game decided by the makers.
First of all I'd add more X-Men since their last game (Legends 2) in this form is also some time ago.
OK all the Standard 23 (except Blade and Nick Fury) = 21 + Next Gen 2 = 23 + PSP (Ronin renamed Echo) 4 = 27 + DLC Extra Heroes (I'm against playable villains because it's illogical in the game concept!) 3 = 30

34 Quicksilver (Understandable if powers are to hard to implement so Cap Britain for a replacement is OK too)

I mean people like the earlier named Yellowjacket and the Wasp, Shadowcat, Prof X and Vision & Quicksilver if not playable.
For HQ's I suggest places like the Baxter Building, the X Mansion and maybe the old Avengers Mansion (it's a different kind of universe so why not).

I really like this list of characters. I think the game needs to work more with teams. I mean, since I didn't have XBox or PC versions (or whatever) I was left with the default characters. I'm a big X-Men fan (Gee, big shock) and I found it kind of ridiculous that they only had 3 members!?!
