so i was wondering wether i could skin for wos just like sm3

I was actually asking the Curse. :P

My nephew loves this game and plays it on my pc.  I was pissed off that activision screwed up this game so much.  First they make the real game for the three next-gen consoles and then they make a side-scrolling knockoff that looks like its made for snes and they put THAT on ps2 as well as the handhelds.  Then they make a horrible pc port that doesn't have the extra costumes.  The graphics problems are horrible on the pc version.  There is no reason they couldn't have just ported the wii version to the ps2.  This game isn't that much different than the last few spiderman activision games except for the much better web-swinging/fighting systems.  Aside from all that though, my nephew found out the wii version has all of those extra costumes and he was really upset that my pc version doesn't have them so I would really LOVE to get these skins and surprise him this weekend when he comes over! :D  Sorry for ranting guys. :)

Actually, the wii version has the costumes and no fighting style switch because it was developed by a different studio, im assuming to add the motion sensor support and to port it properly, but its wierd that thy didnt bother porting it to ps2 since that it was just devloped straight from sm3, and theres alot of left overs that i have found textures that prove this, by the way try updating your video card, it worked for me and almost eliminated all the problems, even the explosion lag.
ill see what i can do about releasing the skin by the weekends :)
by the way, does anyone want to request any costumes in the mean time?

Are these replacements or have we figured out how to actually add them as costumes?  (just curious)

na they are a little of both, you selectwhich skin you want to use in texmod and then it willrelace the skin

The main differences between the Classic and Movie versions are the eyes and spider emblems. I've also uploaded a picture of the black-suited one in case you were interested ;)
I can also get a few better screenshots from the Spider-Man 3 game if you'd like.

i tried out all the skins and boy are they so detailed!just one question tho. is it possible for u to modify the tendrils of the black and anti symbiote suit so that the tendrils go along with the color of the suit?(like black suit with black tendrils instead of blue) like this guy did linkie:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mal_bjtbZL8&feature=related

How do I apply these skins?  I tried texmod but it keeps saying "D'OH Chocolate egg happened" every time.  I have them in hte same folder as the spiderman wos exe file (C:\program files\activision\spiderman web of shadows\image\pc) and i load texmod and use package mode and choose the 2 skin .TPF files and then hit RUN and it just says D'OH.  WHat am I doing wrong?  I thought the skins would be in the .pcpack files.

wario. put the tpf files somewhere in my documents.run tex mod. select spiderman web of shadows exe as the target application and then click the mini-folder which is above the x sign then select the tpf files u put in ur my documents.hope it helps btw thx for showing me how to delete my posts midknight

I did exactly that and its not still not working.  I have a no-cd patch applied to the main exe though, could that be why its not working?

I have 2 questions.
1. Does Pc version have the same unlockables as wii ? I mean extra costumes like Sppider Carnage etc ?
2. Does this "Anti Symbiote" skin is a replacement for the normal symbiote skin ?

Unfortunately the Wii is the only version of the game that has unlockable skins.  The rest are just regular and symbiote.

well good news guys, ive finished all the skins, except for scarlet spider, there is no way to make it good, firstly the model is uneditable, and it looks stupid as a skin tight costume, also the skin mirrors from the center so there was no way to put the logo prperly on the costume.

The skins are rather nice and I really liked the spidey 2099, cosmic and black symbiote skins (espescially since the web of shadows teams idea of black is insane blue and purple highlights), but: I noticed that the arms on the black symbiote costume aren't blended properly. There are visible seams between the front side of the torso and the arms, where they meet.

It's not a huge issue, but it is annoying. While I'm pointing out tiny flaws, the arrows on the 2099 costume should go all the way to the hands and the skull should look angrier than it does.

It occurred to me, the skins didn't have to stop at spider-man; different versions of other characters could be made. For example, a classic venom costume, venom 2099, angelo fortunato, that scream symbiote costume for symbiote black cat, mary jane as gwen stacy, uh.......the black kingpin from the daredevil movie?   

the seams are apart of the model, which is stupid because they included a detail texture....
and ill work on updating 2099

Spider-carnage was the skin I was looking forward to most, and I was kind of disappointed that you went with the bagley version rather than the romita version you posted above. It still looks good, the claws espescially, but the veins look a little out of place.

I agree with what you're saying about the mouth, but if you look at earlier drawings of carnage, his jaws always looked like part of the costume rather than something underneath it like venom's fangs and gums.

In this case, it wouldn't look out of place if you had a partially opened mouth; you could always do two different versions of the skin (i.e. bagley and romita) and have one with a closed mouth and the other an open mouth. I don't think it'll really look all that out of place with an open mouth, as long as it's not gaping wide open.

The best example of a partially opened mouth is the panel in the 3rd part of the spider-carnage story where ben is talking with peter whilst trying to hide the symbiote. In response to peter going to see seward ben says "NO" and the lower half of his face is a very viscous looking symbiote jaw.
I don't really expect anyone to remember that particular scene, but I don't have a ready example of it, so I might post that page later.


The rest of the skins are really good though; unlimited looks leagues better than I thought it would, the negative zone is a nice addition too.

Ive given up on Spider Carnage, it doesnt look good enough for me, So ive Uploaded The Rest of The Skins, plus my Updated 2099, and i think these are the last im going to do, there doesnt seem to be any thing more to do :P

BTW while looking on Marvel, i found out something retarted, the 2099 spiderman in exiles isnt from the 2099 universe, hes an alternate version.

One last note, can one of the mods change the name of the thread from Spider-man 3 to Spider-Man Games

I still don't think the skull looks right on 2099, but the arms are an improvement.

It occurred to me, with the new batch of skins, that you have a lot of skins for the costume, but only a handful for the symbiote. There are a lot of things that can be done with the symbiote half, they don't all necessarily have to be spider-man even.

For example, toxin? Carnage too, in addition to spider-carnage, which I think is kind of a glaring ommission, considering you've got ben reilly in there.

As an aside, do you think you could get the maker of the spider-carnage mod you posted in a previous thread to repackage it? I couldn't get that skin to work, tex mod just comes up with an error message.

I really liked the armour costume and unlimited by the way, I didn't particularly care for the movie ones though.

Also, in answer to Meganubis's comment about spider-man 2099 in exiles; he was from a 2099 universe, but not the 2099 universe in the 2099 line comics. The world tour exiles story takes place rather early on in the 2099 universe, around issue 10-11 of spider-man. During that story, the exiles take miguel away from the universe, so if it were the same miguel, how could the rest of the spider-man 2099 comics have taken place? The story completely alters how that particular sequence of events with jordan boone and the dimension technology plays out anyway, so you can view it as the exiles totally altering the 2099 timeline, thus making the comics invalid OR, a splinter universe which branches off from the primary 2099 universe at that point.

I only bothered to read exiles because of spider-man 2099 joining them, so I was very disappointed with the way the character was discarded when chris clairemont took over the book.

Now I am questioning why I wrote all this.

It was because Meganubis thought an alternate spider-man 2099 being in exiles was a bad thing; I was clarifying why it wouldn't have worked any other way. Mystery solved.

Anyway, if you're still interested Meganubis, I figured out why the seams are so visible on the symbiote and anti-symbiote skins: the arms and legs are different shades of white and black respectively to that of the torso. The limbs are a lot darker. I suspect it's the way you applied the highlights on the specular map.

Hi there, I'm also new here. I was watching this thread for a long time. All skins that I found were awesome, and just for fun, I also made some skins for Spider Man WoS. I tried to make'em look like the spider carnage which is below on the first screenshot.

Hey guys i came up with this dark spiderman skin and was thinking if you guys like it. I made the original suit dark and adjusted the black costume to black. I also adjusted the black costume's eyes so that it will look like Venom.

The skin looks simple but original, and personally I like it. But could you take a bigger screenshot? Cause I can't see it too well.

Personally I still love the dark spider skin more. Skins on this that are bulkier are meant for a bigger character, Spiderman is too thin in this, it just doesnt mix well. Although, you did do an excellent job on the skin. I am anxiously waiting for Dark Spiderman skin pack and toxin to be released! Keep it up!

Whoopsies, my bad got the creators mixed up. Carnage, for your dark spider skin pack, try making the white spiderman symbol more...lethal, like venom has it in the game (I think you know what I mean :P)
And DDrag0n, the eyes are indeed cooler on v1.0 :P Hope you can get around that, and excellent skinning jobs everyone!

Yea, I know, too bad that modeling in WoS isn't so easy like in Counter Strike. I would give a try to do something with the whole spidey model, but I don't know if this is possible, and personally I think is not.
As I said Toxin Is complete, I'm thinking if release it now or try to change something.

If somebody have some requests or ideas for me to do some other skins, feel free to tell.

Yes it is possible to skin other characters. I already was thinking if no trying to skin venom, to make it look more look a like in comics, cause Venom like he is in WoS I really don't like it.

Yeah I dont like venom's tint, but I love his spider symbol. Its just wild, looks dangerous. In fact, someone should make a new black suit with Carnage's eyes and color and venom's wild symbol, Venom incarnate! lol. I think that would be awesome.

You're right, in pictures which I show to you on what I was based on, the eyes of Toxin are bigger. But there also other pictures which I was based on, and most of them they have smaller eyes, just like in the skin.

I played it a bit more, the smaller eyes fit better actually.

DD, can you upload 1.0 again of spider carnage? Everytime I download it and execute it with texmod, it looks exactly the same like your newer version..The eyes are smaller and shoulders are fixed, this might just be a bug for me but both of them are the same :S Just ones 3.0 and ones 4.0

EDIT: The skin is nice, I always preferred the classic comics black suit instead of the one in WoS. Its almost the same as the one which Meganubis made, which I also made but I didn't released it couse Meganubis was first and I thought would be pointless release the same skin twice. But you changed the eyes to make'em look more like venom, they're nice. You should fix the color of tendrils and other symbiot stuff, cause they still look like those from WoS.
I like the "red" suit, which isn't red anymore but dark, it fits very well with the black change made on black suit.

Over all, nice job. I'm waiting for your other skins ^^.

It would be a little bit difficult, since they're totally different skins (I mean that the way of each skin was made is different).  Everybody knows that Meganubis Ben Reilly skin is much better from mine spider carnage, almost in every aspects. Its impossible to extract textures from .tpf files. Too bad cause Meganubis won't do the spider canrage skin. But I would try to make a spider carnage skin, based on Meganubis Ben Reilly to make'em fit together, they would be awesome.
To do that, I need textures of Meganubis's Ben Reilly skin, of course if he accepts what I said.

Anybody wanna make a venomish spiderman black suit?
Idea: Take venom's spider symbol (The wild looking one)
Take his blue suit, maybe darken it a bit, with little or no purple (Vanilla is Purple with very slight blue, I say opposite)
And make it glossy :P
But the Venom symbol can just go on his vanilla suit, it would still look cooler. Maybe give him different eyes too, like DD's toxin possibly

I got another good idea, how about the black suit black like in the comics with venom's wild symbol? In the ending credits it shows the costume like that, I think that would be awesome!

You should use Blood Spider's symbol on a black/blue symbiote suit. I think it would look cool, a tint of blue while the rest of its black

I can make the skin, but I can't modify the model.
I will make this one in future. Maybe just after I finished Poison, that I'm working on. Also I can't make hundred version of black spider suit. I mean, making many variants of black suit modifying only few things are just... I don't know... useless? I don't want to be rude, or something, I know that those are just ideas, and opinions about costumes that you like. I'm just saying that I would like to get some "bigger" ideas. Like Toxin, Spider-Carnage... you know, this kind of stuff.

I like yours too. Its kind a different to see spidey all white, but that's because I like it. If you were basing your skin on that picture so why you made it with web on the suit? I mean, its still looks ok, but its not like in the picture ^^. Also I love the white thendrills they're awesome. And effects too. could tell me which is the texture of the symbiote effect? Or send the texture file to me? Cause I can't find it, and you know as I know that its really difficult to find anything in WoS texture database. The effect that I mean, is the effect at the end of the thendrills. Like when you slap with the thendrill, and at the end of the thendrill is that "water" effect with parts of the symbiote.

Popping in with a little feedback on the awesome black suit you've made Mega. Apparently there's slight difference in chest and gloves with rest of the suit, which makes for a midly annoying seams in otherwise perfect costume. Since I only have your black suit installed, it's not a matter of conflicting mods.

I need help running this game through texmod. When I select Spider-Man: Web of Shadows in the "target application" folder. No files come up in my c drive under activision. What am I doing wrong? Am I supposed to look in another location?

By the way I'm running this game on windows 7 and the game was just installed about 15 minutes ago.

All of these skins look great, only the cosmic ''no sky'' (you can get that red sky with that download right) file is i believe the same as the cosmic spider skin file

Me on the other hand i'm doing 2 courses then a 3D modeling course (i need to do the other 2 to do the 3rd one.) cause I have an idea of a new dimension game based when spidey is in his late 20's and is teaching science in a class with gwen stacy  to younger students and thats when he gets his powers instead of at school trip it's college trip and he's doing photography for the buigle then he gets bit and there you go but this time it shows you a video sequence comin up to the part where he's drawing a suit andn then a display shows up where you pic a model form from any of previously known spideys and the costumes he's had. Then you have option to modify head waist legst neck and so on... on the slider bar. then you get to pic a template costume design from one of the many well known suits then modify the colour scheme of the suits or just select am a plain skin and design your own lines then the colours and you get to pic a basic texture design b4 you pic the colour for what that specific part is made of for the effect that it's real materials when showing in 3D

and trust me I have large amounts of complex ideas for spidey games but that they that complex and there are that many nothing could sustain it all into a game without the game crashing but then again that only might happen I wouldn't reccomend my ideas going into a game for the wii it would be too much for a low lv inside hardware like wii unless you could have it fully upgrade to be as powerful as the 360 or ps3

Wow! Your skins are beyond amazing! I realize you've already got a few more skin requests, so If you can't get around to mine, it's perfectly fine.

But here are my two requests (if you have time, like I said):

1. Could you make a skin that looks like The Old Blue and Reds (From the PlayStation 1 Spider-Man Game):

Maybe I have to much free time compared to you people to go on the forums and thats why I post more often please forgive me if you class it as spamming and also I noticed one of the posts I sent was accidentally repeated in the next somehow.

I have thought about it and i'm the only reason why mega's skins take longer is cause he does them with more detail and precision so theres never really any runny colours crossing the lines on his work his unlimited suit seems completly flawless.
He's truly a professional he is an artist and these suits are his art or at least the creators art recreated to fit on a 3d model but he pulls it off perfectly.

If you look at my paint.net change his suit in the stealth pic I made you'll notice I didn't do the colours to the edges I didn't want to risk damaging the effect. of how real it would look but of course I failed with the eyes. hopefully if he has spare time he could make the stealth unlimited and possibly just release all these new suits weve requested as a fresh batch on a new thread: mega's web of shadows skins 2.

I found another intresting costume which may look bad if done by someone less experienced but maybe venom could do it if your schedule is full:

My Own Design the what if costume (if A symbiote Latched it'self to arachnoman)  My Arachnosymbiote Costume has it's pic up and running on the thread the download shall be available shortly after and I was thinking could you adapt your arachnomans eyes to look atleast somewhat simialr to my creation cause then it will be a double combination and people might want both if they work well together so please download my suit and see what you think but please keep original design of arachnoman it's a great suit plus I tin k i over did mine but it's awesome when playing it and i'm sure your arachnoman and my arachnosymbiote suits might do well if used together at same time
