yay, The Avengers just became the third highest grossing movie of all time, supassing the last Harry Potter. Now only Titanic and Avatar ahead of it, though I have my doubts it will surpass Avatar, I still think Titanic is a great possibility.

Interestingly enough, those are both James Cameron movies. They're only successful because James Cameron is a teenage girl on the inside. And he clearly knows how to make anything way too dramatic/romance-filled.

On a related note, we got lucky on the original :spidergirl: Spider-Man films. Cameron almost became director instead of Raimi. I read some of his original ideas for Spidey. They were bad.

Cameron wasn't always this pile of crap of a director he is now. I liked some of his earlier movies quite a lot, specially Terminator 2, Aliens and True Lies. But he totally lost it for me and his worst movies were the most successful, which baffles me.

Hate it when great people just lose it like this. Cameron, Frank Miller, Madonna...why can't they just retire having made a great contribuition? Guess Harvey Dent was right on several levels: You either die successful or live long enough to become a flop.

Nice. Your quote makes me hope Chris Nolan doesn't go that route. If there's one man who's been around for years and hasn't disappointed us, though, it's Stan Lee.
