XML1 Prototype Xtraction Point v1.0

In the XML1 prototype, the Xtraction Point is red, transparent, and doesn't have that blue light shooting up from it.
Now you can enjoy this in XML2!

Install the "beacon_xtraction.igb" "beacon_xtraction_noteamchange" and "beacon_xtraction_saveonly" to the folder "X-Men Legends II\Models\Puzzles"



If you want to remove the blue light, remove the file "extraction_loop.xmlb" from the folder "X-Men Legends II\Effects\base\misc"
I'm not sure what "extraction_burst.xmlb" in the same folder does, but if at any point you see some blue light coming from the Xtraction Point, try removing that file too.

Alternate Main Menu Mods v1.0

Pics are included in the mod.

This mod contains 3 alternate main menu backgrounds, an alternate main menu logo, and an alternate quit button.
The only alternate main menu background I didn't do was the XML1 Prototype X-Mansion one, because BaconWizard17 already did it. These are all the others from the XML1 Prototype, XML2, and the MUA1 Prototype.
Copy the folders in each mod folder into your X-Men Legends II folder and overwrite the files it prompts you to.

XML2 Alternate Menu Background:
This is an unused main menu background from XML2. It's sort of a more futuristic version of the standard XML2 main menu background.
The camera isn't the best, but it's here if you want to try it out for a change of pace.

MUA1 Prototype Main Menu Background:
This is the main menu background from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 prototype. It features a rotating SHIELD symbol. I don't think the prototype acutally uses it.

Marvel Legends Main Menu Logo:
This is the main menu logo from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 prototype. I don't think the prototype acutally uses it.
At the time the prototype was made, the game was still being called Marvel Legends, hence why the logo that says that.

Debug Quit Symbol:
This seems to be a debug quit symbol. I thought it looked cool, and I thought that if you're using the Marvel Legends logo, you might also want to replace the X-Men logo quit symbol.

XML1 Prototype Main Menu Background:
This is the main menu background featuring Cerebro from XML1.
The reason I used the prototype version is that the retail version's map has no roof and because of that it has no lighting and as a result it's very dark.
Thankfully, the prototype version has a roof and has lighting just like it does in the retail version.
All it means it that it looks just like it does in XML1.


Suggestion:
The MUA1 Prototype stuff would work well if you're using the Marvel Universe roster mod for XML2.

XML2 by default has a different character select screen for each act.
This mod replaces them all with the MUA1 PS2 character select screen.

Copy the UI folder to your X-Men Legends II folder and overwrite the files there.

Then go to E:\Activision\X-Men Legends II\Effects\menu and delete the following files:
"act_team_ambient_1.xmlb"
"act_team_ambient_2.xmlb"
"act_team_ambient_3.xmlb"
"act_team_ambient_4.xmlb"
"act_team_ambient_5.xmlb"

Each act's character select screen is numbered so if you only want Act 1's replaced, for example, only replace "m_act_team_1" and only delete "act_team_ambient_1."

Note: Unfortunately, the 2 different character select screens from XML1 Retail and XML1 Prototype won't work in XML2 because the characters are are floating at the very top of the map, and it just looks awful, so I didn't include those.

Alternate Hud Styles v1.0

These are 4 alternate hud styles, 1 unused in XML2's files, 1 that's used in the XML1 prototype, and 2 unused from the XML1 Prototype.

The unused XML2 hud is a large silver x with wavy lines on each side of it.

The used XML1 prototype hud style has a blue circle with an x in the middle in it in the prototype itself, but I couldn't find a way to get it to do that in XML2.
I think it's because by default, the hud model is hollow in the middle and has a texture go there but this prototype hud model isn't hollow and the texture goes on top of it in the prototype.

The 2 unused XML2 Prototype huds are 1 that's a D-Pad and 1 that's circle-shaped buttons.

There are 2 other huds in the prototype's files, the ones from the early screenshots, but those both have a structure and layout that are so drastically different that they just aren't compatable with how the XML2 hud is structured and layed out, so using those isn't possible, unfortunately.

Just copy the UI folders to your X-Men Legends II folder and overwrite the files there.
